His ability to anticipate needs, communicate effectively, and keep everything moving forward was invaluable. Cory was another key contributor who helped make this project as seamless as it was. Through his coordination with his team, Cory worked closely with us to ensure that the project had virtually zero impact on our operations. He also helped identify and implement proactive measures that will benefit us as we move into future phases of the project. Cory consistently stayed on top of every detail and demonstrated a tremendous commitment to our success. His willingness to come in on a weekend to help us prepare for our tie-in is just one example of the level of dedication he demonstrated throughout the project. This review is overdue. The 5 stars is for the work that was done not the process of the companies who took over. I will be honest and it was or maybe still as the transition from SunPower to SunStrong has not been the smoothest. This transition left those of us with contracts in limbo waiting to find out who does our servicing which in the end went to Sunspear Energy. It took quite a while BUT in the end the work performed was done professionally and well. Much thanks to Zack for taking care of the initial request and getting the panels up to par. Many mahalos to Issac, Issac Jr and Isaiah for the care they took in removing and then reinstalling our panels for roof work. Worst company ever!!!! I choose Sunspear because of the warranty that they offered. Price was in the middle of the 5 other companies I called. Getting the quote went fine. But other than than it has been nothing but trouble. After all the paper work was signed and a deposit was made it went down hill from there. Before I signed the contract I asked Anela the sale person I was working with if the install could take place on a certain date in Oct 2024, pointed out the location I wanted the batteries to be installed and asked if the electrical work could be installed on the outside of the house. In other words they would not need to access the inside of the house. Was told the date I request won't be a problem, the battery location was okay and that they would not need access to inside of the house. Weeks later I was told by the project manager that she was not informed of any request on the install date. Was also told by the designer that the location of the batteries might not be possible. After going back and forth days I finally got the date I wanted for the install and location of the batteries I requested. On the day of the install was told by the installers that they were not informed about the electrical work not going threw the attic and would need access inside the house. After he called someone he stated if I signed the drawing they had they could run the electrical on the outside of the house. The work was suppose to take 1 day but at the end of the day I received a call and was told they could not finish and would need to come back. Was not given a date on when they would return. The next day I called the project manage Alex about the problems I was having with the install. Mainly when they would finish the work and was the brick they grabbed from my yard to placed under one of the batteries was a permanent solution for the concrete pad they poured being to small. After weeks of Alex not returning my phone calls I got a call from a guy saying he was at my place to finish the install. At the end of the day he called back to say there was a problem and someone else would be back to fix it. In the end my system was not fully up and running until late November 2024. The brick under the battery is the permanent solution for their screw up. Took over 5 months for HECO to approve the system. (I kept getting emails from HECO every month stating they need more information before they could approve the system.) Never head back from Alex after the install date even though I called multiple times and left messages . I later found out she no longer works there. But only 4 months later because I finally called the main office asking why HECO wont approve the system. Got a call mid May 2025 saying they were at my house to drop of a gift. It was a Yeti water bottle. And now 1 of the Tesla batteries is flashing red and I can't get anyone from Sunspear to help me. read more

Sunspear took over our previous solar company, they came out to troubleshoot our solar panels in October of 2025, we were informed that an inverter would need to be ordered and replaced. The last communication we received from Project Manger Ann Dang was in December. Emails were sent to them for a follow up that came with no response. We called Ann's office a few times with no answer and no return call. We are now at the ending of February and she has still not returned a single phone call or email. We called the office on the 11th of February and was told by the person who answered that they would check the warehouse to see if the item arrived and if not would follow up to see what was going on and we would get a phone call back. It is now the 23rd and still no call. Absolutely horrible customer service and horrible transparency in this whole situation, all while our electric bill is taking a hit because we are waiting on an item for the last 4 months. The previous company didn't even take this long. Truthfully if i could rate them without a star i would, this is sad that this is the first impression we get of this company on our first encounter. read more

The Sunspear team was such a pleasure to work with. From start to finish, every person we interacted with was knowledgable and professional. Ryan Smith (our sales guy) was professional and not pushy. He made sure we understood what we were getting and right-sized our system for our needs and for maximizing tax credits. He also didn't push us to get a bigger system than we needed. Toy Eastes from the office kept us in the loop every step of the way and made the whole process seamless. Electricians/Technicians were polite and professional and got the work done really fast. Also stayed late one day to make sure they could finish it up by the second day. Drew and Tracy were fantastic at explaining things and they caught a couple of things that were missed - painting the plywood board to match our house, the location of one of the panels which would've cut into our parking space. In both instances, they were super patient and was willing to resolve all issues before continuing. Nicholas, who came out to spec out the area and to activate the system gave thorough and clear instructions and made all the timelines and expectations very clear. The time it took from signing to activating the system was also quicker than I thought it'd be! Would highly recommend Sunspear for anyone considering solar. read more

On the nightly news they featured a story about the HECO battery incentive and interviewed a representative from Sunspear Energy. Looked up the story on the news stations web site and called Sunspear Energy. The representative on the phone was very helpful and informative. He took my information to have a sales associate follow up on my request. It's been 2 months and no one has followed up. I don't see how they got a 5 star rating, "Buyer Beware". Have received email from company owner apologizing for the missed communication. Glitches in their system were the cause of missed follow up and follow through. They do have a good rating from the BBB and are awaiting accreditation. read more

I been updating my home system to account for my tenants. I now have 27kW of PV on my home all installed by the team at Sunspear energy. I have recommended Sunspear to all my friends and family. We have been through many phases which was recommended by our Sunspear rep because I didn't have cash to build the system all at once. We now have 6 Tesla powerwalls on my home. Shame that the Koolau's and the clouds block sun all day, but if it weren't for the system Sunspear installed I'd be paying $1600/mo for electricity to HECO. Every year the Sunspear team leaves me happy that I'm generating power for myself and saving about $20k a year on electricity, not including the tax credits I got from state and federal tax credits. From my experience Sunspear may not be the cheapest company around but you get what you pay for and it's been worth every penny. read more

We started our solar journey with another company we met in Costco. That was a mistake! They dropped the ball. Then we heard about Sunspear. Our first point of contact was Ricci who sent Rick Bergstrom within a few days to our house to explain the process and answer all the questions we had truthfully without all the sales fluff. Sunspear installed our system almost two years ago. I received 5 different quotes before choosing, and theirs was by far the best in terms of both price and quality of materials. The process was painless and seamless. We power our home and almost all of our driving with our system. There's not much to say beyond total satisfaction. I first met with Rick Bergstrom "Senior Energy Consultant" back in July 7, 2022. I can begin to tell you how great this guy is. Rick never failed or fails to respond to any question's I asked and continue to ask. Because I knew very little about solar at the time, and still have a lot of questions. And everything we discussed on our face to face meeting was also rewritten and sent to me via email that same afternoon. He even had a written proposal emailed to me that same night.
