Great Company! Starting with Steve, who came to the house and explained everything about Solar. We got two bids. The first bid was in an email, never came out to the house. Solar Tech had good reviews, was local, and price was much better for more panels. The timing was exactly as they said it would be. The office was excellent with communication. Steve was easily accessible. All questions answered. The crew putting panels and electrical up was knowledgeable, and done in one day. Very happy with Solar Tech. read more

When we selected a solar company, we looked for one that provided complete service for all aspects. We received a call telling us our panels were generating power but not reporting. THEY CALLED US! They had two techs here in nothing flat. They worked very hard and explained what was happening and how they planned on repairing it. It was a several day process and the techs followed up, the service coordinator followed up and everything was excellent. We highly recommend! read more

SolarTech did a great job installing a home solar system and a pool solar system. Great staff, courteous and efficient. They explained everything clearly, answered all questions and were quick to respond to any questions. Particularly helpful, was how they explained the app used to monitor the system. Our initial meeting with Ali was straight forward. He was extremely knowledgeable and helped us through the process of determining our needs. read more

It is possible that the long waiting time is due to the high number of houses requiring solar panel installations. Besides this, the company's business representative Mr. Ali and installation teams are capable of providing customers with highly professional services. read more

We had SolarTech install a solar pool heater in our house and we couldn't be happier with the excellent service. Jason is very knowledgeable, willing to answer all the questions, and not pushy at all. He gave us a first time user's discount which brought down the already competitive price down. Throw in Solar Tech's excellent warranty and there was no reason to go anywhere else. Their service technicians were as professional, passionate, and pleasant as Jason. As promised the whole project was completed in a few hours and the technician gave us an overview and offered a couple of suggestions on how to optimize. If and when we decide to install solar energy supplement, there is no doubt that Solar Tech will be our preferred company. And of course, as usual, thanks to all the yelp reviewers. You made our shortlist shorter and final choice easier! read more

It was a pleasure working with the very knowledgeable people of Solar Tech. From the first contact, to throwing the switch to power up the system and my home, everything went as quickly and smoothly as I could ever have hoped. Installation was unintrusive and took less than two days! I now have enough power to run two AC's and every fan and light in the house, with room to spare, thanks to 16 high efficiency Sun Power panels and the amazing Neo Volta battery. I'm now experiencing the heat of Summer here in Temecula in our 3,000 sq/ft home, and the $300+ bills from SCE that I would usually expect at this time of year have dropped to $11, which represents a great return on investment, expected to last for decades to come. A truly miraculous transformation to clean, plentiful power, courtesy of Solar Tech, with the help of the 26% tax credit from the United States. I only wish we could produce water with as much ease! read more

I could not be happier with SolarTech. I shopped around and SolarTech was miles better in value even compared to other Sunpower dealers.. Ask for Ali - he's incredibly responsive. From quote to installation... he's on it. My panels are in producing well over my needs and I couldn't be happier to be off the grid. read more

We thought about getting another pool heater when ours broke. Ali was able to give us a complete, professional analysis over a ZOOM call. He had all the information we would need. He was spot on about the efficient, knowledgeable crew who installed our solar. Every part of this process was simple and professional. Very good pricing. Thanks Ali read more

I would love to take this time to thank Laura Poirier, Senior Solar & Roofing Consultant, and the rest of the Solar Tech team for their great service!!! Laura went above and beyond with my wife and I from the very beginning. I was a first time homeowner and very nervous about making such a huge expense with solar panels. She reassured me how great of an investment it would be to own them and stop paying so much in electricity endlessly! All I pay for now is about $10 for connection fee to the power grid and $20 for gas to SDGE! Plus, solar is such a great tax write off! Even today, months after the purchase, Laura is still only a text or phone call away if I have any issues with my solar system! Plus, I was able to get my roof bundled with it since Solar Tech has their own roofers. I have highly recommended Solar Tech to all my friends! Thank you for treating me and my wife like family! read more

Update: after posting the review and a follow up email I was contacted by solar tech with a quote and follow up to have the work done. The day of the scheduled repair I was contacted to try to move the work date. My husband and I had arranged to work from home that day so I asked that we keep the scheduled appointment. The office worked to get another team to work the job. I realize you can't plan for people calling in sick to work but this happened both for our initial inspection and the repair. The office people I dealt with were all very nice and pleasant. The technician who ended up coming out, Arturo, is great and did a very nice job of explaining what was done. My take away: Kind of a hassle to deal with the company but the people are nice and the work seems to be good. read more

So, let me start by saying SolarTech did a great job. We wanted to get solar to our house for a long time. during the research time I came across with several top notch popular brands and of course SolarTech San Diego based local business. It immediately caught my attention. we went thru the assessment process with 3 different estimates from three different companies. after considering all three of them we decided move forward with SolarTech simply because they're a local business, for the best price and they were honest about the whole process. not to forget i got good recommendations from people we know around san diego. from beginning to the end of the project i communicated with our sales person Ali Ibrahim (a very nice guy) :). him and the whole SolarTech team (Installation team/ Office staff) was nothing but helpful throughout the whole process. true that there were few hiccups during installation and after installation (just like working with any other company). however, since SolarTech is a local San Diego business they responded quicker than any big companies i.e: Tesla. However, it was so much easier working with these guys and in-fact i have already recommended these guys for few of our friends. :) I'm attaching few pics so everyone can see the great job these guys did. read more

I got Larry's information from my HOA, and emailed him about my situation asking if solar might work for me. Thankfully, instead of quickly writing my email off as a non-sale, he replied with a full explanation of why solar probably wouldn't be worth my while (my electric bills are less than $50). Double bonus- he didn't try to pressure me into a sale anyway AND I was able to understand the major Pro's and Con's. The best part of his email though was that he took the time to give me a lot of helpful information.. if he hadn't done that, I wouldn't have discovered I WILL benefit from a system in the near future. So maybe I'm not a sale today, but thanks to the time he took.. I will be soon! read more

Rapid & Reliable Excellent Service I hire a lot of contractors & I do thorough investigation before I come up with one. I do background check, BBB, Licensing, read reviews & then I choose the best contractor of each field to hire. Read my reviews which cover some of the best contractors in San Diego. In my past review, I have mentioned that as a journalist, I had done a vast research about San Diego solar companies & it all came down to Solar Tech. I talked about their fabulous products & installations. In this review I want to mention their reliable service & maintenance. Solar Tech uses quality parts & does fine installations but what is really great about them is the afterwards service. Unlike many other companies, they are not fly by night contractors which abandon you after the installation! They follow you thorough & monitor your system with more patient & observance than you do! In one occasion, the panels did not read, so they inspected & replaced the garage monitor with a more hi-tech brand, so the system could be better monitored off line & online. They provide you with great service & maintenance. Warranty is not only some cheesy gimmick but it really means something. Through the years, Solar Tech has stood by their word & products. Let me give you an example of Solar Tech service standard: Solar Tech had done my house & pool solar both. They are the best company which I could come up with for the house solar & for the pool, well, practically they are the only decent one which does pool in San Diego. I want to mention a good man who works for Solar Tech. Damian Iniguez runs the solar pool division of the Solar Tech. He installed my solar pool & so far, he has been maintaining it. This guy has work ethics & integrity. Now that is not something which grows on trees. Allow me to elaborate: Through the years, I had questions & needed service, maintenance & minor part repairs. Damian Iniguez could have easily send one of his employees or a serviceman to do the job but instead, he took the time to make time in between his busy schedule to drop by, patiently answer my questions, educate me about the solar system, do the repairs himself & right away get the job done. Instead of scheduling through front desk which could take days & weeks, he dropped by & done it in few minutes. So, what does this tell you? It clarifies that Damian is a responsible, reliable, organized, detail oriented, observant & decent human being. Damian is a quality technician, knowledgeable expert & a valuable employee for Solar Tech & a decent person as a human being. Through the years, I have learned from Damian's knowledge of solar systems, pool systems, & he has always been there for me. He has solved my solar issues rapidly & out of schedule. I just wanted to mention my gratitude for Damian & share my experience with Solar Tech's installation & service through the years. As a matter of fact, Damian was here today & done a superb rapid service of changing a minor part for me. In the future, we will purchase more solar panels from them. I most definitely recommend this company to all of you. read more

After some frustration with resetting my WiFi network connection to our Solar app we called a Solar Tech Jerry Hannis for some assistance on fixing our issue. All I can say is that his customer service is top notch! He went above and beyond and drove all the way from Lake Elsinore to Chula Vista just to help me out! Jerry reset our connection and made us feel at ease and assured us that this happens sometimes when your WiFi set up changes (which ours did after changing modems) and not to worry. He also explained what steps he did to fix the problem. Also not to mention this was a same day last minute service call which he still made time to stop by! He also took all Covid precautions and kept a safe distance. Excellent service! We can't thank Jerry enough for helping us out! You've made our day! 10 STARS!!!!!! read more

We had a great experience with SolarTech. Ali was a great sales person to work with. He was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. Very smooth transaction and excellent work. We had Roofing by Solartech replace the room on our house in Spring Valley before we had the solar installed. We saw them get started and then we left out of town for a day, when we came back there was a beautiful new roof on the house and it was all clean. I mean really clean. I was so impressed with the quality and speed of the process. I am glad that it is now raining and we can rest easy, and dry knowing we have a great roof on our house. When it comes to service, I knew what was going on at all times, they were respectful of my property, and the people involved were very nice. I would highly recommend having Roofing by SolarTech to anyone. read more

Solar Tech installed a backup power system for our solar about a year ago. We have a disabled son who requires electricity for his medical equipment 24 hours a day. When we heard that San Diego gas and electric was going to be having rolling blackouts we realized we needed to have something to depend on. They installed it perfectly. And fortunately we have not been had to use it yet, but it's there if we need it. And it gives us much relief to realize that we don't have to worry about our son anymore. We would highly recommend Solar Tech. They did an outstanding job of installation. Their personnel is very experienced and very pleasant to deal with. There would be no hesitation on our part in recommending them to family and friends. I hope that you can also get the chance to have a good experience with them. read more

Upon moving to Escondido, and seeing what SDG&E's rates were like I knew that I had to get solar before summer hit. SolarTech was my second call for an estimate. Ali Ibrahim came out, and sat down with me and thoroughly went thru all the possible options. As I wanted the most bang for my buck I went with the Sunpower 360 panels. I emphasized to Ali the need for as speedy a process as possible, due my need for a/c as the summer heat begins. Ali understood. We got the contract signed and things began to happen very quickly. After signing on 5/30, I was promised an install date of July 5th & 6th. Ali is not a salesman who gets the contract and just moves on. He kept an eye on the project, and when an unexpected opening occurred he made sure that I was slotted in! So now, less than 3 weeks from signing, my panels are on my roof and I'm just waiting for the county to sign off (next week, I hope) and I'll be up and running! I can't say enough good things about all the personnel at SolarTech. Ali, Shauna & Grant all made sure everything clicked, and the design and installation personnel were affable and professional! The one thing I didn't mention is the price, but it was better than the competition and they even discounted for cash! A 10 out of 10 experience all around! read more

Our solar panel installation was completed in January 2023 and everything seems to be working well.

At every turn we found Solar Tech to be be neat, prompt, courteous, and thorough. We couldn't be happier with every aspect of the job including you checking in at this point... nothing has been overlooked. Vince and crew put in the extra effort to ensure the conduit and panels were as invisible as possible, we certainly appreciate the extra time it took him and his team to do that. We worked with Ali. He was responsive and attentive to our needs both from an energy production prospective and financial requirements. He advocated for us through out the process. I purchased a Heliocol solar system in 2014 and it's been working fine until i have a leak on my roof a week ago. I reach out to UMA Solar who is manufacturing the system in order to have a technician to fix the leak under the warranty. I was redirected to SolarTech who gave me a call within 5mn to tell me they have no technician available in a foreseeable future (ie never) but they would have someone available if I wanted to replace my whole system (that just has a leak!) this is beyond a joke it is even offending to imagine that someone would be stupid enough to say yes. BUYERS BEWARE! In February of 2019, I had solar installed and went through Solar Tech. Per contract, they had a "production guarantee" clause meaning if production was not met each year, they will refund me a specific amount. Back in August of 2019, I noticed that our solar production stopped and my electricity bill was extremely high. I contacted Solar Tech and it took them awhile to come out and address the issue. Please note that our solar system was not operating for 2 1/2 months so I was paying both electricity and a solar payment. At first, they kept saying this was not their mistake and that I would not be getting any sort of refund but when the technician came out, he specifically stated that this was an installation error. At that time, Solar tech emailed me and admitted responsibility due to an installation error. They said that once I receive my true up bill in February of 2020, they will true-up with me as well and refund me for any under production. They even copied and pasted the production guarantee clause from our contract. Fast forward to February of 2020, I received my true up bill from SDG&E and I owed about $4,000 for electricity. Side note: I am now paying much more having solar than I would have paid without having it since the production is nowhere near what was estimated. Anyway, the solar did in fact under produce so per contract, they were supposed to refund me some money. When I emailed them sending all supporting documents and asking for my refund, the service manager sent me back an email on February 10th, 2020 saying there was no production guarantees written anywhere in my contract. I then forwarded their email that was sent to me in August along with a copy of the contract, and he then stated that "this is not standard practice to write in a production guarantee and they may be able to work something out for this year but an addendum to the contract will be needed moving forward".. WAIT WHAT?? You can't amend a contract after the fact??? It is now April 9th, and after numerous attempts to collect what is owed to me they are non-responsive and will not give me what is owed. I have called and emailed several times and nobody is getting back to me! I am extremely disappointed with their customer service and lack of professionalism. read more

Response to Travis. 1. Tiles - Somehow you found tiles that matched in color. The dark purplish color tiles that were originally used were not close. Solartech admitted the first crew did not know how to finish a roof. I would recommend any potential customers to use a different roofer. 2. Nails - I did not realize nails would continue to fall off my roof months later. 3. Panel Firmware - Not blaming you for firmware, but all my other panels were fine. Why should a customer have to wait four months? It was a new system the panel should have been replaced right away. Most dealerships would work to resolve issue and not send people off to the car maker. Solartech represents Sunpower, so the four months still reflect back to you. How proactive are you ensuring Sunpower resolves the issues? I never received an answer from my other issue. So if there is no open case then Sunpower closed it with not resolving. 4. Individual Monitoring - I would pay a small fee if that was required, I believe it is important for customers to see this information. Had I not been able to, I would probably still have a panel not working correctly. You may be surprised how smart customers may be. It was easy for me. I looked at the two panels next to the one with the issue. All west facing, which would produce really similar numbers. I hope Sunpower brings it back 5. Customer Service - I look forward to better Customer Service. Hopefully, the new CEO at Sunpower can fix customer service. Not everyone is going to have a wonderful experience with Solartech. I do hope the experience is better if there are issues in the future read more

What a great company. On the first day, six guys came and tore the old roof off of the house. This company means business! All plants on the side area of the house were covered with tarps to minimize any damage from falling debris. After the old roof was taken off, the crew cleaned up any stray debris on the property. They even used a magnetic device to pick up any nails that might have fallen from the roof removal work. All new roofing material was placed neatly on top of the roof for the next day's work. On the next day, the roofing install crew (Bernie, David, Rick, and Matt) came and installed new fascia and side boards, including the new synthetic underlayment. In addition, deteriorating sheathing plywood was replaced with new sheathing in certain areas of the roof. Also, the crew put on a portion of the new Owens Corning Cool Roof Shingles. And before leaving for the day, the crew again cleaned up around the property while again using the all important magnetic nail sweeper. On the final day, the install crew completed the installation of the sheathing and shingles. The flashing and roof vents were also put in place. One significant but welcomed warning from the crew was to remove any vehicles from the garage because roofing debris could fall into it. Sometimes in today's world, it is hard to find a reputable company. SolarTech Roofing is a professional company where the customer comes first. They do an excellent job in a timely and efficient manner. Thanks SolarTech for a great roofing job! read more

I just got new vinyl windows installed now ready for solar. After getting several bids, I learned a lot about solar and started my own analysis. I created my own spreadsheets comparing panel manufacturers, TOU plans with my energy consumption over 2 years, breakeven point, etc. Ultimately, I decided on SolarTech because they use the best panels, at a reasonable cost, no subcontracting and had great reviews. Laura (solar consultant) was very knowledgeable and answered all my technical questions and I had many. The SunPower panels have one of the highest efficiency, high output power rating, performance guarantee and warranty. Their warranty is longer that most manufacturers been in the solar business. SolarTech is estimating a 5-year breakeven point. Efren and crew installed the panels and electrical with great detail and thoughtfulness even under extreme heat.
