Omar and his team are among the best in this business because they truly care and want your event to be successful. They are a literal dream to work with. They offer a beautiful space that can be transformed into just about anything with state-of-the-art A/V systems and screen projections. They are able to offer many things in-house that you would otherwise have to find with outside vendors. Their kitchen is top-notch and the bartenders know how to make your guests happy. They are flexible and easy to work with from the first moment you meet them. On top of all that, their prices are reasonable and the quality you get back is worth what you pay. I am so grateful to Omar and his entire team for being such a pleasure to work with!

There is a large hallway when you enter, then a bar to the left side in a separate room, and I think the women's restroom is across the way. If you kept straight, you enter the large ballroom where there are bars on either side and a stage in front where the dj was. For our particular event, there was a long table set up on the right side for a minimal offering of food while there was random furniture set up throughout the venue along with a couple of photo booths. Considering the previous years party was actually AT work, Candela was a nice upgrade!

However, the mushroom taco was delicious it had so much flavor! As well as the gobernador taco (the one with shrimp). The fish taco was okay but thought it was cute that they wrap it in a little tusk. I would mention the drinks but I'm not sure what my friends got and I got a mocktail. The service was delightful, from start to end! I don't recall our waiters name but she made sure we were taken care of. Overall this place was very cute! The pillows were so comfortable! My son is a big fan of this place and absolutely loved it, which is why he recommended we come. It was my first time there, as well as my adult daughter's first time. The only downside had nothing to do with the restaurant itself, but unfortunately with some of the patrons seated next to us. My adult daughter felt very uncomfortable because she noticed them repeatedly looking over at us and whispering. I wish she had told me in the moment--I would have gladly asked to move--but she didn't want to cause any issues, especially since it seemed like they knew the waiter. I also think it's important to say that people who visit places should be mindful of how their behavior comes across. Others can absolutely pick up on judgment and gossip, and it can affect someone's experience more than people realize. It was disappointing because I genuinely liked the environment and would have otherwise had a perfect experience. I'd still recommend the restaurant, but I do wish that part of the evening had felt more comfortable.

It sat vacant for a few years and briefly reopened as a performing arts space in 2013 but was forced to shut down. After being declared a historic monument, it underwent a complete renovation by new owners in 2015. The building changed hands again in 2023 and functions as an event center and a shared common workspace. This three-story venue has rooms upstairs. Downstairs is the main room with lofty ceilings, large windows, wood floors, a kitchen, bathrooms, and a stage for a DJ or live bands. Downstairs is a speakeasy style bar and the backyard is also a nice spot for an outdoor reception. I've driven by this place numerous times thinking it was just a church. I recently saw that there was a Holiday Market Place being held here so I stopped in to do some shopping. There was a man on the front lawn making pupusas and people sitting at tables enjoying them. Inside is quite spacious and there were several vendors selling their merchandise. The tables were nicely spaced apart, so it was easy to browse. This realty is a nice spot for an event or to use as a shared workspace. *Street parking only.

CRATES. they barely had any garbage disposals for us to clean. main thing was the workers under the company look lazy and rude. if we didn't clean, they would keep the deposit. I don't think a reception of that size would be overlooked by the host and simply wasn't disclosed that significant detail. for the price of a different venue with all services for cleanup, seems like it's better to go somewhere else. plus, no parking and it's only street. interesting space but pass.

I am writing to formally address ongoing management issues at your venue involving Gor and Vahan…read more Their conduct today, and on previous occasions, has been unprofessional, disrespectful, and damaging to vendor relations. Timeline of today's incident: I arrived at 10:30 AM to begin setup for a wedding. I was never instructed to arrive after 11:00 AM. Despite kitchen staff being inside, I was refused entry and made to wait outside with all client florals. After setup, Gor approached me and asked when I would return to "clean up and retrieve the flowers." I politely explained, as I have before, that all florals are purchased by the client. They are not rentals. They are not recollected. The client may keep, gift, or dispose of them as they wish. Gor insisted it was my responsibility to remove the flowers. I clarified that we only retrieve our rental items: vases, candles, stands, and supplies owned by Farabelas Touch. I was told to return at 12:30 AM for pickup of rentals. My staff arrived at 12:00 AM to find the doors locked and the event already ended. We received no notice of the early closure. When I texted to inform them my staff was there, I was told that because we do not collect the flowers, we would not be allowed to retrieve our rental property, and to "come back on Wednesday." Direct quote received from your manager: "When u pick up flowers like every single florist everything will be perfect." This statement implies vendors are being pressured intentionally. Please be advised that under California law, once florals are sold and delivered, they are the client's property. The venue's contract is with the client, not with our company, regarding floral disposal. We are not your client. You may not bully or pressure vendors to remove property that does not belong to us. Gor and Vahan's behavior reflects poorly on your venue. They have harassed vendors, shown a lack of respect, and created unnecessary conflict. This impacts not only our company, but also the experience of your paying clients. I am requesting that ownership address this matter seriously. We expect: Clear communication on load-in/load-out times and access. Respect for our company policy that we do not recollect sold florals. Timely access to retrieve our rental property without games or retaliation. Professional conduct from all management toward vendors. We value our clients and want every event at your venue to run smoothly. That requires management that treats vendors as partners, not targets. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution. Sincerely, Farabelas Touch Floral Events INC | est. 2006

To top it off, it is only a short drive to the Pantages Theater and near alk the Los Feliz hot spots. The service was excellent from the moment we booked, to the moment we checked out. This hotel is a bit under the radar and I only found it based on a random magazine article I read on boutique hotels in LA. After our most recent stay, I'm confident this hotel will always be at the top of list! First, the guest experience is well designed. They communicated in a timely and friendly way before our arrival about parking and the check-in process. (One amazing perk is free self-parking spot just steps away from back entrance, which means you can zip around town without the hassle of Los Feliz parking hunts). Second, the room is lovely. We stayed in Chapter 3. The bedding is similar to a quality you'd have at home -- no cheap scratchy sheets here! They use La Labo bath products in the bathroom and have a chemex/fellows set up with ground coffee at-the-ready. It is a hotel experience in a room that feels like the perfect apartment I always wanted. And finally, the location. For years, I stayed at larger chain hotels (e.g., Ace, Westin) in DTLA or smaller boutique hotels in Ktown. They felt like the only option in the 250-$350 per night range. While this place is a touch higher in price, the location (and free parking... don't forget hotels in LA charge -$40 for parking, before tip) is unique and worthwhile if it works for your budget. It's tucked into a discreet spot next to a coffee shop and wine bar, next door to Kismet (which I also rave-reviewed, 5 stars!), and walking distance from tons of stuff. Street side the entrance is totally unnoticeable, and you can go about your day without hotel-y things like lobbies full of people with screaming children and weird boomers staring at your tattoos in the elevator (no elevator). Overall, a totally enjoyable experience. My only tension for next time is whether to book chapter 3 again or to try other chapters!!

This place was built in the 1960's by the Breakfast Club and given to the city in exchange for holding their meetings there. It is quite spacious with an abundance of parking in their private lot. It is a great location for larger events in that they have a stage and a large industrial kitchen. The downside is that the place needs some work. While I don't mind the 60's vibe, it seems that the city is not maintaining the space. The folding tables are quite worn around the edges and seem to be quite old. The chairs, while not completely uncomfortable, are certainly feeling their age. The kitchen, while quite large, apparently needs work. The large commercial dishwasher has been inoperable for a few years according to a staff member I spoke with, making it difficult for caterers who have to hand wash everything. Why do we pay all of these tax dollars to maintain city owned facilities? The bathrooms were remodeled somewhat recently. Whoever designed the remodel of the men's room should be fired. Who would place the hand dryer in a corner next to a urinal where both cannot be accessed at the same time. That is so odd to me. But overall, I'm happy to see the building being used. There are so few places large enough for big events that also has a large parking lot. I just wish the city took pride in the building, especially since they didn't pay for it. The least they could do is maintain it since they are charging a hefty fee for its usage.
