More than enough space for our 250+ guests
    Christine C.

LA River Studios was the very first venue we toured for our wedding, and we knew right away this is where we wanted to have our wedding. Our wedding budget was very small in comparison to most weddings in Southern California, so we needed a space where we could have both our wedding ceremony and reception. And LA River Studios provided just that. At first, we thought the price was a little steep for our budget, but Debra was able to work with us to get the most for our money. (She is a God-sent!) There were a few hiccups the week before our wedding, due to city coding, but we were compensated for the inconvenience. Debra stayed in constant communication with us, and was great at working with our vendors/family members to get the space ready for us. Our guests are still telling us about how beautiful and unique our wedding was. They were a little skeptical from the exterior, but could not believe the beauty of the space once they were inside. One thing that was a bit of a headache was the parking. We paid to rent the FedEx parking lot across the street. But when our family and guests tried to park there, FedEx employees told them they would be towed if they parked there. So they had to find parking elsewhere-which isn't easy in the area. Other than that, our day went by smoothly and having the staff there made the end of the night go as easily as possible. We will definitely be coming back to LA River Studios for our big events. And a lot of our guests have showed interest in using the space

This place is so awesome! So much character. As a photo booth vendor having been to lots of venues indoors/outdoors you name it, this venue layout really impressed me. *plenty of parking across the street at the FedEx parking lot so valet for a party of about 150-250people or about 60-100 cars would require about 4 to 6 runners max, any more than that is a waste. typical cost is about $30 per hour, per runner. or guest can just walk across the street it's really not far at all. saw plenty of nice ladies in heels make the half block walk. *Bathrooms. there are 4 in total gender neutral separate rooms and 2 communally sinks. very nice modern, and clean. Charity event I worked had about 300+ people and bathrooms wait time was never an issue even with all (the drinking as well). *1 upstairs area which was really great, definitely cool spot to hang out and see everyone down below. *one outdoor area which was great to if your having a party sometimes you just need a little fresh air. *Easy ACCESS for your vendors and simply a fantastic place. *100% worth checking out if your having a wedding, prom or special event!

It was also annoying for the waitress (not the gal that served us btw - a host perhaps) to give the vibe like they were doing us a favor by applying the $50 Birthday promo that THEY send via email (note, I verbally this flagged when we arrived just in case - but they didn't initially have it on our bill). My head is thinking "calm down--we ate minimally and got drinks. Don't offer it if you're going to have an attitude about adjusting the bill". It was just weird. They also didn't offer any bday dessert treat but we weren't super pressed bc we were so full. The meat was a bit overdone and all kind of tasted the same this visit. Didn't get to try the lamb chops and a few other meats, but still has a nice variety. Salad bar is top notch and consistent, although wish their black beans were plain due to all the meat. Drinks were ok--heavy pours but lower quality wine. The $29 "Wine Experience" package was worth it for my husband who likes variety of wines with his dinner depending on what he's eating. I'm sure I'll come again but it's been bumped a few notches on my Go To list.

We made reservations just in case there'd be a wait on a Friday evening, but surprisingly the restaurant wasn't busy, a shame for them, but something we were grateful for. We ordered the baba ghanoush right away because I was absolutely famished, and we were also served a generous plate of hummus with delicious homemade chips on the side. The chips were salty and tangy, which paired perfectly with the hummus. I ordered the chicken breast and luleh combo, while my partner got the filet mignon with tzatziki, and everything was incredible. It was my first time trying chicken luleh and I can confidently say I'm a fan now. Perfectly seasoned, tender, and flavorful. The rice was cooked perfectly as well. The only thing I would've loved is a side of raw onions, but that's purely personal preference. What really says it all is that the entire meal was eaten mostly in silence and not a single picture was taken, which is completely out of character for me as a foodie. "Camera eats first" absolutely does not apply at this restaurant. The establishment is run by a lovely couple in the kitchen along with one server. It's a quaint little spot that feels warm and personal, and I already have a feeling I'll be coming back often.

Vegetables combo plate was delicious Loved it Pita chips , thin and crunchy... fresh ... I would buy some to go . The not so good stuff: They sat us , a party of 4 at a very small table that was uncomfortable and our plates barely fit. My legs were hitting my wife and kids . The worse part is that there was an entire open larger table . The waitress was young and seemed inexperienced and uninterested. We felt like we were bothering her . I would order food to go from here but not dine in .

We attended the Chinese New Year event on Feb 26 that was advertised as "all you can eat and all…read moreyou can drink." Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've ever had. Our group had 10 people and spent about $1,600, expecting a festive event with good food and drinks. Instead, the entire night was basically spent standing in lines and waiting for food that barely came out. The restaurant clearly oversold the event without having the capacity to serve the crowd. Examples from the night: * The lobster station was cooking only about 8 lobsters at a time, while 20+ people were waiting. * The sushi station had around 50 people in line, with a single sushi chef making less than one roll per minute. * Food trays were constantly empty and took a long time to refill. After hours of waiting, each person in our group ended up with only about two drinks, three very small sushi rolls, and a small scoop of fried rice. That was essentially the entire "all you can eat" experience. For $160 per person, this felt extremely misleading. When a restaurant promotes an unlimited food and drink event, customers reasonably expect that the restaurant has the staffing, food preparation, and logistics to actually deliver it. Instead, it felt like the event was massively oversold with insufficient food and staff, leaving many guests waiting in long lines most of the night. Paying $160 and leaving still hungry and barely having had anything to drink is unacceptable. This event was poorly planned and very disappointing. I would strongly recommend thinking twice before attending similar events here.
