From the initial contact with Stefanie, to the coordination beforehand, and finally the day of the event. All went smoothly and Stefanie was very informative and accommodating. Great price as well. We had almost 80 people show up and this was a great space for it. The building is so beautiful and although old, was in great shape. The chairs and tables were in good shape and the kitchen was nicely renovated. The projector and sound system was easy to figure out as well since everything was well-labeled. The parking lot is tight, but not an issue as there is ample parking in front and near the venue. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a venue that can fit 100 people max (its capacity)!

You are responsible for your own table cloths, or you can rent it from them for an additional price. There's a kitchen that you can use, the bathrooms are clean, and there's plenty of parking inside. The venue can host 100 people, but it will be very tight with that many people. We had about 80 people (including kids) at the event, and though it felt tight, at least the kids were able to hang outside to enjoy the bouncer. I rented the afternoon time frame, so we were given the venue from 2:30-9PM. The only thing that I found weird was that there was absolutely no attendant available at the end of the night. Overall, a decent place to rent a venue if you wanna DIY things yourself.

What a…read moresurprising unexpected hidden jewel, located behind a nondescript brick facade, off the one-way Green Street, east of Lake Avenue in Pasadena...My mom and I loved the food, the tea, the service, the ambiance, the live harp music. Five stars in all categories that matter. Ambiance. French Quarter feel. 10/5. We were surrounded by a feast for the eyes and the palate...peaceful garden meets girlish feminine touches meets opulent glamorous excess in the main dining room. Bold colors. Tapestry on the wall, murals in the hallway. Small intimate rooms to explore but oh boy the main dining room with its huge fireplace. Gorgeous. Plus it's not everyday you dine in an historic space once occupied by Albert Einstein!! When we arrived, we passed thru an arbor archway into a lovely patio with a trickling fountain to the right...it's like leaving L.A. and entering a secret French Quarter courtyard. My mom and I were warmly welcomed. And asked if we preferred outside or inside. I chose inside to be closer to Margaret Comer playing her golden harp so beautifully. 10/5 She played classical music but also Arirang, a famous traditional song from Korea. She even came around to ask for requests...show and movie tunes please...next she was playing Golden from KPop Demon Hunters!! Wow, Kpop sounded awesome on the harp. FOOD. 10/5. Only the mothers day menu today...Royal brunch (with French toast and quiche) and Royal High Tea . A la carte choices available to add champagne and other alcoholic brunch drinks like mimosa, an extra $8 which is reasonable and the a la carte option was great for us bec we just wanted tea. We got the passion fruit hibiscus with dried fruit which was both tart and sweet...when my mom tasted it she instantly loved its complexity and flavor. She loved it so much we had to know the recipe and the kitchen kindly accommodated with a handwritten note on the perfect chemistry of passion syrup, hisbiscus, and dried mixed fruit. Bravo kitchen and thank you for sharing your blend. 10/5 ....For $16 we got the tea fixings, enough for 4 big pots of the most delicious tea at home. Thank you kitchen staff for putting a big smile on my moms face. 10/5. Ingredients were quality...everything everything everything, both savory and sweet, were constructed with care and not only tasty but visually artful... a combo of adorable yet elegant things that took about three bites each to eat. No misses on the food, all hits....we loved it all.... I also ordered off the a la carte list..items all $6...I got the grilled cheese with a shot of tomato soup-- thanks to the review recommendation of my fellow Yelpers. They weren't wrong. Cute fourth of a grilled cheese...could have eaten a whole one, so good. Soup shot good too. I liked that there were more savories on the tier...just the scones at the top with the clotted cream and jam. ...i didnt know the desserts came as a course at the end...whoohoo, good thing they were bite-sized and two could share with a bite or two of each item...and we loved loved loved the golden dessert spoon with the leafy handle, so cute yet so elegant. My mom wanted to buy a set, but I forgot to ask. SERVICE. Saved the best part of this review for last. Impeccable top notch service. Thomas made our Mother Days celebration so happy. Ten stars for Thomas with his friendly calm demeanor...authentic down-to'earth and genuinely nice person...so accommodating and ready to make our day at Madelines so special. Give Thomas a raise for exceptional service and treating his customers like family, and mom like a queen. Thank you Thomas...especially for getting the kitchen to write down the tea recipe....and sharing with us a bit of your story. We enjoyed meeting you. Madeline's is a lovely place for tea...even on non holidays...and I plan on coming back and trying the other tea menus and to have brunch. Treat yourself to a Madeline experience. Highly recommend for days when you want to be kind to yourself. TIP #1...Street residential parking is two hours. Easy parking off Wilson... Took about two hours to finish our tier and two pots of tea. TIP #2...Let the photographer take your pic and then be delighted by the results. A photographer comes around. Takes awesome pics that make you look so goood.. Usually I pass and just accept the complimentary one. But this time, I had to buy two...1) we looked so cute in these pics 2) the frames were beauteous...and 3) an A.I. one of me and mom as a cartoon...but not cartoonish...it made me laugh out loud. And anything that delights, I must have...so it's $25 for the first, $20 for the others each. 10/5 for the pro photographer who worked some magic to make us look goooood (and younger) and cute even as a cartoon!!

We were seated behind a couple who were on a bench (no back) and their butts were directly facing our table which was not the best view for us. They could easily fix this by replacing the bench with one that had a backing. After waiting about 10 mins with no server greeting us, we flagged down a female server to ask if we could order. She said she would let our server know. She came by a few mins later and asked if our server came by. He hadn't. She said she'd remind him. Our server did finally arrive after waiting another 5-10 mins. His voice was flat and I got the impression that he did not want to be there. When I asked him about the soup of the day, he rapid fire listed 3 soups. I had to ask twice to repeat himself because he kept saying them so fast, it sounded like he was listing ingredients. He also did not bring us a knife for the scones so we had to ask someone else to get it for us. We both ordered the English High Tea and I appreciated that they allowed for substitutions because there's a lot of things I can't eat. The egg heart canape was delicious, but the cheese in the grilled cheese tasted super rubbery. I also had the Lychee Oolong which I thought was too floral. I thought both desserts were really good. Usually at high tea places, they just put out some store-bought petit fours and macarons, but they actually had what tasted like house-made cakes. Overall, ambience was fantastic, service was terrible (but I think that was just our server), and the food is a hit or miss.

The territory is incredibly well maintained, with huge mature trees, beautiful flowers, fountains, mini waterfalls, and small ponds where you can see fish and turtles. There is also a lovely grassy area in the center where you can sit, relax, or have a small picnic. Geese walk freely around the gardens, and colorful parrots fly overhead, adding even more charm to the atmosphere. In April, the garden looks especially stunning -- the pergola and trees are in full bloom (I wish I remembered the names of those gorgeous flowers!), and the whole place feels alive and magical. Honestly, this garden is beautiful in any season of the year. You can come here with dogs, which is a big plus, but it's important to respect the property rules: pets must be on a leash, owners are responsible for cleanup, professional photography requires a permit, and activities like skateboarding, drinking alcohol, or organized sports events are not allowed. These rules help preserve the calm and cleanliness of the space. There is also a secondary school located on the property, which adds to the unique character of the place. Parking-wise, we were able to find free street parking nearby without any issues. This is a perfect spot to slow down, enjoy nature, and escape the city noise for a while. Highly recommended for a peaceful walk or a quiet moment surrounded by beauty.
