We hosted my father's retirement party in the Ella Ballroom at Noor in Pasadena, and it was an absolutely beautiful event--truly a night to remember! A huge part of that was due to the flawless execution by the entire Noor team. From the sales staff (Stefany) to the event manager to the on-site staff the day of (Gillian), everyone was professional, kind, and went above and beyond to accommodate our many requests. They were especially patient and warm with our guests, which made the experience even more special. I actually found Noor through a quick Google search and initially worried it might be out of budget, but once I toured the venue, I knew it was the perfect place. The Ella Ballroom comfortably fit our 100 planned guests and provided the perfect setting--elegant and intimate. Although I didn't get to try the food myself (too busy hosting!), our guests raved about the buffet: creamy seafood pasta, pasta pomodoro, and chicken toscano. So I know it had to be good! We also gave the bartenders a few custom drink recipes, and not only were they able to make them with all the right ingredients--they were sooo good! The bartender was quick, efficient, and even delivered drinks to seated guests during the program, which was such a thoughtful touch. I highly recommend Noor for any special occasion. I came here for a company holiday party. Definitely nice venue. Felt like I was at a wedding. The ballroom we were in was the Ella Ballroom which was a big ballroom with a bar and also outdoor seating as well. The food was fantastic. We were greeted with hors d'oeuvres such as crab cakes, fried zucchini, and miniature grilled cheese. And of course the table had its usual bread and salad. The main course was filet mignon which was cooked to perfection and the chocolate cake at the end was AMAZING. Overall great experience. Our server Caitlyn was incredible. The venue itself was quite nice and the appetizers served prior to opening the main room were also good but the lines were too long. Maybe the venue was too small for the number of people. The main room was where I had my complaints. The volume of the music was painful and it awful all night. Nobody could talk without screaming. People were putting noise cancelling headphones in because it was just too loud. The MC's voice was distorted because the volume was so high, only half his words could be understood. When they served dinner, which was good (the chicken was super dry though), the MC kept directing activities while people tried to eat. We were constantly interrupted by the MC literally screaming to direct us to yet another activity or speech. We had no time to eat or talk to anybody, it was all impossible. I don't know why anyone would deliberately want this kind of screaming chaos. If you didn't get to talk to people before the main doors were opened, you were out of luck. We wanted to wait for the cake to be cut before leaving but our ears were literally ringing and we were tired of having to scream to be heard by anyone. We left about 45 min before the cake was cut because we felt like we couldn't take it any more. But, it was nice to see the people we were able to see. If this is the way wedding receptions are happening now, I'm totally done. But, again, the appetizers were really good. They should have served them at more than one table though because the only line was far too long. read more

From start to finish, our experience with Noor has been mostly positive :) You keep hearing horror stories about terrible venues and cat fishing vendors, so it was always a priority for us to book our wedding at a place that brought value, excellent communication, and that allowed our dog Bubby to join us from start to finish. From the get-go, the team's communication with us has been excellent-Robert their manager was very timely and patient with answering all of the small questions that popped up throughout the months leading up to the wedding. When it was time to formally hand us over to the events team, the transition was smooth and seamless. Judy and Steph are so so so great! They are both fun and easy to talk to. We had a minor hiccup the week before our wedding regarding our dog-we were initially told that she could be in the ballroom during the reception but then were informed that due to health code, she could no longer be there during the reception. We were able to work out a solution though (if you are planning on having your dog with you for the wedding, I highly recommend having a designated pup buddy either way, since you most likely won't be able to do that yourself.) Our dog ended up chilling in her crate in the bridal suite during dinner (she was so tired from the day's events that it ended up working out anyway.) During our complimentary tasting where we chose the food we served at our wedding, we were made aware that because Noor is a banquet hall, they do not offer to go boxes-thankfully this prompted us to bring take out boxes from Sam's Club for our wedding guests. Food portions were generous, so this was a huge huge asset to our wedding. I also loved that Noor offered an In n Out truck and a "champagne girl" both of which were a hit amongst our guests. Noor also has vendor meals for your vendors (for a lower price so you aren't paying for another "plate.") I felt that this was an economical way to feed your vendors while avoiding breaking the bank. I also liked that they were able to accommodate our pup with her own special made meal as well! Their food was amazing too-friends and family members liked it a lot (you'd expect chicken to be dry, but theirs was really really good!) I also loved how accommodating they were towards our outside vendors. Overall, we had a very positive experience with this venue and cannot recommend it enough. There is a lot of value with the prices they charge, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on our wedding day which is ultimately what matters most :) it was a welcome bonus that the experience leading up to the wedding was overwhelmingly positive as well read more

It'll be tough to do but I'm going to try to summarize my experience with this venue without selling them short. My wife and I planned a wedding in 3 months (while packing, moving, among other things). We booked a venue that we never even saw in person. It was almost an act of blind faith just based off what we saw about them online. Robert added comfort to our decision, he was very thorough in every answer, response, description, and much more through his emails and phone calls. And this was exactly what we needed. We needed to go with a venue where someone showed this much care in what they do. And they've been around awhile too, so for him to show that much passion still. It was an easy choice, beautiful venue and a leader that cared. It didn't stop there, through and through from before I booked them all the way up until the wedding day. Nothing seized to amaze me about how tirelessly him, Lauren, and the rest of their staff worked to make us happy. Honestly, their prices and packages as-is is already worth every penny because you won't just be getting the items, but the quality & staff that came with them. But even so, they worked with me to remain within our budget, there were even some things at the end that they ended up giving to us complimentary and that's something we're super grateful for. Among them and my vendors, the wedding went shockingly smooth. Big thanks to their team, they are truly seasoned professionals! Raving review about them as people so far, but their venue -- wow! I had my wedding reception here this past Saturday. I had a total of 148 guests so we had the reception inside the Sofia Ballroom. This is a very beautiful venue in the heart of Pasadena. I am going to go straight to the point with my review about what I love about Noor and what I think could have some improvements. Loved: Location - easy access, great parking structure so plenty of parking. We have opted to pay for parking validation for all our guests so I'm not sure how much they would have had to pay for parking otherwise. This venue is also next to some major 4-5 stars hotel. The closest one is the Hyatt, which is a 6 minute walk. We had some guests stay at this hotel for the convenience of being able to walk back after the event. Atmosphere - The Sofia ballroom was very spacious and beautiful. The bar in the foyer was classy and also very spacious. I didn't have much decor and I didn't have any floral arrangements but it wasn't very necessary in my opinion because their ballroom was already really pretty. The setup of my tables were great, however, I wish they didn't have three giant pillars in the room - there were two big pillars on one side and another one other the side, which blocked some of my guests from enjoying a full view of my performers that were on the dance floor. The Sofia ballroom also came with a very nice patio/balcony area in which guests can go out, get fresh air and enjoy a view of Old Town Pasadena. Food - I had family style food service and had chose both western and eastern fare which I was very happy they were able to do that. One of my main priority was good food and a mix of western and eastern dishes and Noor was definitely able to provide that. I had a menu with about 9-10 dishes and they were all very delicious and I received a lot of compliments about the food. The hors d'oeuvres (we had Yuzu Shrimp, Chicken Satay, Chicken Dumplings and Italian Bruschetta) that were served at cocktail hour was also very delicious. Services - The services from the the event manager to the waitstaff to the bartenders were great. Needs Improvements / Wasn't to my satisfaction: Food - now the food was delicious, however, it was very sad we couldn't take any of the food home. There was definitely a lot of wasted food and my guests were pretty sad they weren't able to take any food home. I was also very sad I couldn't take a lot of food that wasn't touched on our sweetheart table. They said it's their policy that we can't take food home - I'm uncertain why - maybe cause they are afraid of people getting sick or something but honestly I felt like if I paid this much for it, I should be able to take it back. Unfortunately, a lot of the food was wasted and it was quite expensive... So I would consider this as a pretty big factor - wasted food that we paid $$$$ for. Photobooth - so we opted to go for the Noor open air photobooth. Honestly, if I have known it was the way it was - I would have opted to rent a photobooth from outside. It was a pretty bad Photobooth - you can't email or save the photos, you can barely fit 3 people in the screen and you can't even see how the photo would turn out until it takes the photo. Other photobooths, you can customize with like texts - such as date and names, this one didn't have that option. It took multiple tries to even get a group photo with 5 people because the screen was so small and you couldn't tell whether everyone was in the photo because it doesn't show you a preview. I would not recommend getting the photobooth through Noor, as it was also pretty expensive. I could have gotten a better one for cheaper outside. Caricature - We also had hired a caricature through Noor and because I didn't think one was enough, I hired a second one that was an independent caricature artist. So I don't know if they get the same caricature artists every time but the one that was from Noor was very bad. Sadly, every one that had him wasn't very happy with his drawings and on top of that he was super slow - he took about 10-15 minutes per couple/group. I had a guest that had him draw her and she was so mad about how it looked she didn't even keep it. I saw his work and I did agree it was pretty bad. On top of that, he wasn't all that friendly and kind of had no personality. I was glad I hired the second one as she was wonderful and did amazing caricature in about 5-7 minutes per group. Therefore, with all that being said, I also would not recommend the caricature services from them if it is the same person.... Overall, my reception was pretty wonderful and things went as smoothly as planned. Besides the things I mentioned above that I felt could have been better, I was overall happy to have had my reception here. Now knowing I can't take food back, I would suggest not to order a lot or at least keep in mind a lot would be wasted. read more

Noor is a premier private event venue located in Paseo Colorado. There are two indoor ballrooms and a beautiful outdoor space area that are available for special occasions. It's perfect for weddings or any celebration. I recently came here for Pasadena Humane's Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. I was impressed the minute I walked in. The entrance way is beautiful, there's a splendid view from the patio, and the ballroom was lovely. The whole staff were very friendly, especially the bartender. He was fabulous and very entertaining. The passed hors d'oeuvres were delicious: Mushroom in puff pastry, friend avocado bites, bruschetta. Dinner was buffet style and featured black beans, Spanish rice, grilled vegetables, marinated beef, marinated chicken, tortillas, chips, salsa, pickled jalapeños, shredded cheese, and sour cream. Everything was hot & fresh and tasty. Dessert was courtesy of Super Cool Creamy. The ice cream was made onsite with fresh cream with the aide of dry ice. It was so neat to watch them make it. I went to a lunchtime fundraising gala at Noor in Pasadena last month. I got an invite from one of the hosts and figured I'd take a break from weekend kid duty to enjoy some champagne and food with fellow adults. Noor is an event space in El Paseo, a mall I remember well from my three days sitting for the California Bar. This visit was less stressful. The party was pleasant, with the initial part in an indoor bar area and the lunch on the terrace. It was a hot, sunny day, and the shade situation was not perfect. We sat down to partial coverage and some scorching cutlery. Thankfully, we got more umbrellas, which made the heat manageable for the duration of a lunch. The food was solid. There was bread and butter, a light salad, and a surprisingly good piece of salmon served with broccolini and sweet potato purée. Noor does all kinds of events and is probably worth looking into if you need a venue in Pasadena and don't mind that it's in a mall. So my cousin got married recently at this establishment. We had a grand ole time since we all haven't been together in probably 2 + years because of the pandemic. I like the setup as they got married in the main hall and eventually that became the dining area. The bar was an open bar so getting drunk was easy. If you have a venue you'd like to book at this establishment you should do it. There is parking across the way and your guest can just walk across the bridge safely to your venue. My husband and I held our wedding at Noor's Sophia ballroom in September 2024. Robert & Stefany were very easy to talk to and were always accessible & flexible. We were always able to reach out to them with questions, and I loved how they go over everything step-by-step from the contract to the nitty gritty details such as color of tablecloth. Stefany was a huge help in getting those details hammered out. The venue itself is so beautiful. Sophia's bar is glamorous, the bathrooms are pristine, and the hors d'oeuvres were so yummy! Attended a leasing-office-hosted holiday event here on 12/18/25. Despite my dog being a trained service animal, venue staff told me management would not allow service animals inside. This was especially disappointing as I attended the same event last year with my service animal without issue. Businesses open to the public should be aware of ADA and California service animal access requirements. Edit after reviewing Robert's note: Because facts and context matter, here's what actually happened. I walked in with my service dog, started talking to neighbors and grabbed a drink at the bar. The door attendant and another NOOR employee said no dogs were allowed, I then said he was a service dog and one of them said, "Oh, that's all we needed to know." I continued drinking and chatting with neighbors when they walked up again and said the manager on duty said that it didn't matter because it's private property and I had to go outside. I complied, but complained to my leasing office managers who were there and one of them even offered to watch my dog while I go back in to enjoy the party and to show my dog's ID and the ADA laws that compel an establishment like NOOR to comply with the law. I went inside, asked to speak directly to the manager, and waited so long that I ended up leaving all together. There were multiple witnesses that saw all of this happen. I just want the facts to make it clear that I both complied and tried to have an in person conversation but the manager never came out to talk to me. No one ever said anything about employee allergies (which is not a justifiable reason to deny entry to a service anima), just that it was a private establishment and they don't allow any kind of dog, even service dogs. read more

We attended a lovely event at Noor but I was disappointed for three reasons: 1. We were told in advance guests would need to provide proof of covid vaccination. I had mine ready, but they did not 2. Staff wore masks, but nearly guest did not wear masks. My husband and I did, but what's the point if Noor would not enforce indoor mask restrictions 3. NOOR is such a beautiful venue, perfect for our celestial-themed wedding. The NOOR staff were easy to work with, always available, and happy to walk us through any detail, no matter how small. They were able to accommodate so many of our needs from ADA accessibility, to food accommodations for allergens, to outdoor table placements. We booked the outdoor terrace for the ceremony and the Sofia ballroom, only a few feet away, for the reception both of which hosted 80 guests. The terrace where the ceremony was held was guarded by security so we had no issues with anyone in the area or any wedding crashers. The drapery really made it private and a beautiful space. Water was put out for guests since it was a late afternoon wedding in August. The sound quality was great. Walking over the bridge to see the view of downtown Pasadena coming to the wedding ceremony terrace was beautiful. The bar inside the Sofia ballroom is so classy, and the walk in on a red carpet, through the gold gates, surrounded by a greenery wall made all our guests feel like they were Hollywood celebrities- and so did being greeted by a champagne tower at the bar! It was a really fun cocktail hour with a lot of seating, especially out on the posh outdoor balcony. There are a few screens throughout the bar and balcony where we played a slideshow of pictures of us, family, and friends on as well. Again, the sound quality was excellent. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the chicken and salmon meals, our guests who had the vegan ratatouille said it was some of the best ratatouille they've ever had (and these people are foodies), and the passed d'oeuvres of mac n cheese balls (everyone loved these), chicken pot stickers, and vegan plantain bruschetta were all delicious! All 80 quests, including those with meal accommodation changes, were served dinner quickly and we got a lot of compliments on the food. The drinks were incredible and the bar service was fast. We did an open bar and champagne. Their preferred vendor list is great, everyone was so professional, accommodating, easy to work with, and great at their jobs. This was the fourth time the board or organization I'm on hosted its giant annual dinner/gala at this place, and the first three times were great. Today, in October 2024, I had the WORST experience. I sit on the Board of Directors for the organization, and its signature gala was held at this venue this year. We paid $6,000 for our group to be at this gala. The AV failed to play prepared presentations and videos, and when I told wait staff that three of my board members and guests who were vegetarian got the meat dish, I was met with attitude by this wait staff personnel pictured here. Later she purposely stacked everyone's discarded dishes on top of mine until four dishes were stacked, slamming each plate on top of the other while an awards program was running. Finally she took it away, and slammed the dessert onto the charger as it slid across the charger and almost fell off. Wait there's more. Later I wasn't trying to take a picture of her but when my organization got the biggest award of the night, she walked in front of my video as she saw me try to move my camera away from letting her being in the frame, as I was getting the video of the acceptance speech. We had a Celebration of Life for my Mom there last weekend. Robert and Gillian were both really helpful with the planning. Gillian met with me a few days before to verify the technology would work to play our Spotify playlist as well as play our iMovie which consisted of pictures of our Mom throughout her lifetime. Definitely Glad I met with Gillian before to check this out which relieved stress the day of. They honored our unusual dietary request pure olive oil for a minimal up charge per person. I have lots of positive comments from guest, including a friend of mine that did events at Marriott for 20 years. The food worked out well we had family style appetizers and main course we also had display table set up at the back of the room to showcase her artwork and Momentos from her lifetime, if you're considering Noor for your event, I would tell you to "book it". read more

Beautiful venue for any event, recently attended a private birthday for a friend, very classy set up from room to room, from the servers to bartending staff were great as well. I loved their patio great view of Colorado Blvd. Need to come back for the rose parade, the view must be killer. Overall the whole place seemed magical felt like I was on a movie set, very thing seemed perfect, even the restrooms offered a classic vibe. read more
