We just got married at Castle Green May 2024 and it was such a wonderful experience. First, the people make such a difference, and working with Tatiana made the process so easy and made us feel at home. The Castle itself is beautiful and interesting (we loved the history of it), my husband and I knew this was where we wanted to get married right away. It's always kept in beautiful condition and seems to run very smoothly. I loved that our guests could enjoy the different spaces - front lawn, front foyer, red rooms for cocktail hour, and dining room. It made the event flow really nicely. They have everything figured out and we liked that, it made everything easy. Can't imagine having our wedding anywhere else. Thank you Castle Green!

If you love historic places, gorgeous architecture, and have a flair for vintage, Castle Green absolutely has to be your first and only stop for wedding venues. For our vintage-inspired wedding in November 2024, Castle Green made the perfect backdrop. They were incredibly accommodating to host our 10-piece swing band and their in-house caterer made some of the best food for our guests I've ever seen at a wedding. Almost every single one of our guests complimented the food, atmosphere of the venue, and incredibly kind wait staff! The Director of Events Tatiana is absolutely amazing - from the moment you meet her, she is kind and thoughtful, offering ideas of how to make your wedding special and steering you away from things that haven't worked in the past. She let us stop by the venue as many times as we needed to either practice our wedding dance, show other vendors the space, and prepare for the big day. Castle Green's location, special history, and completely wonderful staff will no doubt make your wedding day unforgettable - I couldn't recommend it enough.

We had our wedding on 6/28/2025 at Castle Green, and we could not have been happier with the experience. From start to finish, the coordinator (Tatiana) was available to help us with anything and everything that popped up. One of the standout things about working with Castle Green was their attention to detail. Tatiana shared everything we needed to book the space in a clear and concise manner. We also went with many of their suggested vendors from a thoughtful but extensive list provided at booking. We were a little nervous that we were required to use their caterer, but we had a decent experience with the caterer and we loved our food day-of. On the wedding day, everything went smoothly. Guests raved about the beautiful exterior and interior spaces. We loved having our ceremony outdoors and our reception indoors. Tatiana truly made us feel cared for and that meant so much to us. Also, we loved how there were so many spaces to take photos in and for guests to relax throughout the night. We wholeheartedly recommend Castle Green as a wedding venue. We couldn't imagine having had our big day anywhere else.

absolutely stunning historical building!

We got married here in July 2022 and had the best experience from beginning to end. Tatiana (Director of Events) was fantastic as she led us through the process, the Castle is absolutely stunning and we had no hiccups! There are tons of gorgeous places for photos, amazing history, and all of their preferred vendors were a delight to work with. I really appreciated Tatiana's calm attitude, booking with Castle Green was one of the least stressful parts of planning the wedding! Would recommend 10/10 and would book again in a HEART BEAT!

Castle Green is a fantastic location for a wedding! It's in the heart of downtown Pasadena. It's a historic hotel that has been renovated into apartment buildings upstairs and a wedding venue downstairs. We had access to all the salon rooms, outdoor spaces, and bridge (bride, groom, and photographers for pictures only). We spent a long time looking for venues all over the country and we got lucky when we found this venue right in our neighborhood. We wanted a classic, vintage, castle vibe and even though it's not a true castle, it really exceeded our expectations in decor, elegance, and ambience. It felt so regal and royal. I was so impressed each time we visited, attended an Open House, and spoke with our venue coordinator, Tatiana. The wedding day went off without a hitch. We had a great time. It was decorated beautifully and the event ran so smoothly. Their prices are very reasonable. They offered a list of preferred vendors that we could choose from to work with. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking for a wedding venue!

Exquisite! A charming historic building!! I felt as though I stepped back in time - in a silent era film!!! I was fortunate to secure Spring Annual Tour tickets. Please note, there are 50 owned units and the owners were gracious and welcomed us into their home! I was very honored to take a peek and amazed at the interiors, furnishings and art!!! We were treated with a harpist!!! The fire mantels and Tiffany lamps are divine!! The stair flooring is marble and the first floor in either hardwood or brightly colored carpet. The details in every item - a gem! Thank you for making this the most memorable historic tour!

Lined up in the main lobby heading into the reception area. You can see the cocktail hour room in the background with the red curtains.

Castle Green was an absolute dream to get married at. It's beautiful both inside and outside. I instantly fell in love with it the first time I went to visit. You don't need much decor if you don't want because it already has all the glam you need. We originally booked the venue back at the end of 2019 to have our wedding in 2020. Obviously that didn't happen, but during that time they were so accommodating as we postponed our wedding twice. Tatiana, the coordinator, let me go visit the venue multiple times and bring my family and friends who were helping me plan. I used Romanesque catering, which is connected to Castle Green. Because they work together all the time, the wedding went so seamlessly. Everyone commented and how wonderful, fun and efficient our wedding was because of how great the staff were. I am so pleased with how everything went and hope to one day be able to attend a wedding there myself as my husband and I didn't get to enjoy our favorite part of the venue (the cocktail hour rooms!) since we went up to do rooftop photos during that hour.

The entertaining parlors.

The Castle is absolutely beautiful. We had our wedding here and they were incredibly supportive staff with amazing vendors who really made our event feel special and personalized. Tatiana is an amazing events manager who is really on top of her game and willing to help however we needed.

Castle Green looks so rustic and beautiful, inside and out. It's over 100 years old and is a historical landmark. FYI, book it early as they do fill up fast and they pretty much are booked EVERY Saturday. Plus the venue is nice enough to do bridal party pictures, ceremony, AND reception in one place. Upstairs are apartments in which tenants live...so they do have some restrictions in loud music, how late you can stay, appointments to visit venue, etc...But good thing about them, you can have the ENTIRE first floor, including the lobby, ballroom, turkish/moorish room, sunroom, patios, foye, and large yard. This is great if you have a lot of people and kids . The staff here were so accommodating for us, But be warned, they do have things due a month before, a week before, etc...which is a long checklist of things to do or show to the venue. So stay on top of things and do things EARLY. Team are super friendly and helpful and extremely approachable. In summary, this is a GREAT place for a wedding or event. It's a hidden gem in old town Pasadena, close to everything, especially the bars and food! They treat you extremely well and walk you through everything. They do get behind in emails sometimes, so I recommend calling if you need something ASAP. PS, I recommend you using their valet, catering vendors

Our wedding day at Castle Green!

Having our wedding at Castle Green was a dream! We had our wedding right at the end of the Covid vaccine/testing requirements. This was a challenge because it required all vendors to be vaccinated at the time, so we lost vendors two weeks before the wedding. But that didn't change the fact that everything worked out and was beautiful and Tatiana worked with us to make sure everything went smoothly. I only wish I could have been a guest at my own wedding to truly take in the beauty and ambience of Castle Green.

The chairs and tables were in good shape and the kitchen was nicely renovated. The projector and sound system was easy to figure out as well since everything was well-labeled. The parking lot is tight, but not an issue as there is ample parking in front and near the venue. We had about 80 people (including kids) at the event, and though it felt tight, at least the kids were able to hang outside to enjoy the bouncer. I rented the afternoon time frame, so we were given the venue from 2:30-9PM. The only thing that I found weird was that there was absolutely no attendant available at the end of the night. Overall, a decent place to rent a venue if you wanna DIY things yourself.

What a…read moresurprising unexpected hidden jewel, located behind a nondescript brick facade, off the one-way Green Street, east of Lake Avenue in Pasadena...My mom and I loved the food, the tea, the service, the ambiance, the live harp music. Five stars in all categories that matter. Ambiance. French Quarter feel. 10/5. We were surrounded by a feast for the eyes and the palate...peaceful garden meets girlish feminine touches meets opulent glamorous excess in the main dining room. Bold colors. Tapestry on the wall, murals in the hallway. Small intimate rooms to explore but oh boy the main dining room with its huge fireplace. Gorgeous. Plus it's not everyday you dine in an historic space once occupied by Albert Einstein!! When we arrived, we passed thru an arbor archway into a lovely patio with a trickling fountain to the right...it's like leaving L.A. and entering a secret French Quarter courtyard. My mom and I were warmly welcomed. And asked if we preferred outside or inside. I chose inside to be closer to Margaret Comer playing her golden harp so beautifully. 10/5 She played classical music but also Arirang, a famous traditional song from Korea. She even came around to ask for requests...show and movie tunes please...next she was playing Golden from KPop Demon Hunters!! Wow, Kpop sounded awesome on the harp. FOOD. 10/5. Only the mothers day menu today...Royal brunch (with French toast and quiche) and Royal High Tea . A la carte choices available to add champagne and other alcoholic brunch drinks like mimosa, an extra $8 which is reasonable and the a la carte option was great for us bec we just wanted tea. We got the passion fruit hibiscus with dried fruit which was both tart and sweet...when my mom tasted it she instantly loved its complexity and flavor. She loved it so much we had to know the recipe and the kitchen kindly accommodated with a handwritten note on the perfect chemistry of passion syrup, hisbiscus, and dried mixed fruit. Bravo kitchen and thank you for sharing your blend. 10/5 ....For $16 we got the tea fixings, enough for 4 big pots of the most delicious tea at home. Thank you kitchen staff for putting a big smile on my moms face. 10/5. Ingredients were quality...everything everything everything, both savory and sweet, were constructed with care and not only tasty but visually artful... a combo of adorable yet elegant things that took about three bites each to eat. No misses on the food, all hits....we loved it all.... I also ordered off the a la carte list..items all $6...I got the grilled cheese with a shot of tomato soup-- thanks to the review recommendation of my fellow Yelpers. They weren't wrong. Cute fourth of a grilled cheese...could have eaten a whole one, so good. Soup shot good too. I liked that there were more savories on the tier...just the scones at the top with the clotted cream and jam. ...i didnt know the desserts came as a course at the end...whoohoo, good thing they were bite-sized and two could share with a bite or two of each item...and we loved loved loved the golden dessert spoon with the leafy handle, so cute yet so elegant. My mom wanted to buy a set, but I forgot to ask. SERVICE. Saved the best part of this review for last. Impeccable top notch service. Thomas made our Mother Days celebration so happy. Ten stars for Thomas with his friendly calm demeanor...authentic down-to'earth and genuinely nice person...so accommodating and ready to make our day at Madelines so special. Give Thomas a raise for exceptional service and treating his customers like family, and mom like a queen. Thank you Thomas...especially for getting the kitchen to write down the tea recipe....and sharing with us a bit of your story. We enjoyed meeting you. Madeline's is a lovely place for tea...even on non holidays...and I plan on coming back and trying the other tea menus and to have brunch. Treat yourself to a Madeline experience. Highly recommend for days when you want to be kind to yourself. TIP #1...Street residential parking is two hours. Easy parking off Wilson... Took about two hours to finish our tier and two pots of tea. TIP #2...Let the photographer take your pic and then be delighted by the results. A photographer comes around. Takes awesome pics that make you look so goood.. Usually I pass and just accept the complimentary one. But this time, I had to buy two...1) we looked so cute in these pics 2) the frames were beauteous...and 3) an A.I. one of me and mom as a cartoon...but not cartoonish...it made me laugh out loud. And anything that delights, I must have...so it's $25 for the first, $20 for the others each. 10/5 for the pro photographer who worked some magic to make us look goooood (and younger) and cute even as a cartoon!!

We were seated behind a couple who were on a bench (no back) and their butts were directly facing our table which was not the best view for us. They could easily fix this by replacing the bench with one that had a backing. After waiting about 10 mins with no server greeting us, we flagged down a female server to ask if we could order. She said she would let our server know. She came by a few mins later and asked if our server came by. He hadn't. She said she'd remind him. Our server did finally arrive after waiting another 5-10 mins. His voice was flat and I got the impression that he did not want to be there. When I asked him about the soup of the day, he rapid fire listed 3 soups. I had to ask twice to repeat himself because he kept saying them so fast, it sounded like he was listing ingredients. He also did not bring us a knife for the scones so we had to ask someone else to get it for us. We both ordered the English High Tea and I appreciated that they allowed for substitutions because there's a lot of things I can't eat. The egg heart canape was delicious, but the cheese in the grilled cheese tasted super rubbery. I also had the Lychee Oolong which I thought was too floral. I thought both desserts were really good. Usually at high tea places, they just put out some store-bought petit fours and macarons, but they actually had what tasted like house-made cakes. Overall, ambience was fantastic, service was terrible (but I think that was just our server), and the food is a hit or miss.

I've had minimal user error with the free printer that is provided and I enjoy being able to look out and see Pasadena City Hall from afar. Furthermore, the staff have been supportive, energetic and happy to help me whenever I have questions. For that matter Jeremy is THE MAN! Always helpful and always able to solve my issues. I'm very thankful that I decided to move away from working at home and start work at FoundrSpace. Because I really need home to be home and a place to work to feel more like work than a room in my home. I don't think that people have figured that out yet, but I know they will soon and I hope they find this review and find their new work office at FoundrSpace. Anyway, I plan to be here for quite some time, and I look forward to new neighbors that are focused on their businesses and ventures. I just wanted to let others know that this is the place for me and I know it's going to be a great place for more entrepreneurs, start ups and businesses too. Seriously if anybody has any questions, feel free to reach out to me and I'd be happy to answer.
