Update following the company's response:…read more I want to clarify one point raised in the owner's reply so readers understand the concern accurately. Yes, I mentioned that I would prefer the panels be placed on the rear of the home if possible. That was simply an aesthetic preference and not a design requirement. I relied on the company's expertise to determine whether that placement would still allow the system to reasonably meet the goals discussed during the sales process. I also want to be clear that the system functioning is not the issue. We appear to agree that the equipment is producing energy as designed. The production numbers themselves have never been what I questioned. The concern I raised relates to how the system size and expectations were presented during the sales process. When we explored going solar, the conversations centered around offsetting most or all of our electric bill, which was the primary reason we decided to move forward with a $20,000 installation. If it had been clearly communicated that the system was intended to be a smaller "starter system" that would only offset a portion of our electricity usage, we likely would have approached the decision differently or waited until we had a longer utility history available. Another important point is that no written proposal or modeling documentation outlining the assumed household usage or projected offset was ever provided prior to signing. Because those design assumptions were never shared with us in writing, it has been difficult to understand how the system size was determined relative to our expected energy needs. As a result, we are now paying a monthly solar loan while still carrying a meaningful electric bill, which is not the outcome we understood or expected when making this investment. At this point, I have shared my experience and clarified the concerns raised. I do not intend to continue a public back-and-forth discussion on this review. My purpose in posting this update is simply to provide context so other homeowners researching solar know to request clear written modeling and offset assumptions before making a significant investment.

We reached out to A&R Solar after Purelight Power went bankrupt and all their staff disappeared,…read morebreaching their contract with us to maintain warranted panels and equipment. Previously, Purelight had done a "repair" that actually broke one of our microinverters and left 4 panels offline, leading to significant power loss and a big increase in our electrical bill, so we were pretty desperate for help with undoing the damage Purelight had done. A&R took over management of our Hoymiles instance (that's the app they need access to in order to make sure everything is working right and check on panel metrics), replaced our broken microinverter, and when a part was super late they graciously comped us for it. Excellent work, prompt service, and professional and polite techs and workers across the board. We will absolutely be using them when we convert to a generator/battery model within the next few months. Very highly recommended!

I appreciate the values this company brought to their work…read more I had gotten another bid from a company that didn't even come out to my property. A and R sent their sales person to our house and he got right to work. He went into our crawl space under the roof to make sure our roof was properly supported for the panels. That was a relief as the other place wanted to send a structural engineer to do that very simple job and charge us for it. Ridiculous. Our project was two years, so the crew may be slightly different, but they were great. When there was an issue, like that we didn't have electrical grounding, they just put in grounding bars. Amazing! They offer production guarantees which is rare for a solar company, like those ones that come door to door. lol A and R was professional, easy to work with and easy to communicate with. Good job team!

Sunpath Services has been the most honest and trustworthy solar company I've worked with…read more I needed help reconnecting my gateway router to my network, and Aaron initially gave me free advice over the phone. He suggested using an older non-mesh router to provide a constant signal to the gateway. When I had trouble setting it up myself, I decided to call Aaron and Sunpath Services because I wanted to support a company that was so generous with their time and expertise. Aaron came out, quickly reconnected my gateway router to my Wi-Fi network, and made sure everything was working properly. He also provided helpful information on system upgrade options and ways to save money through government incentive programs if I decide to expand my system in the future. I plan to use Sunpath Services for any future solar panel needs and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for honest, knowledgeable, and customer-focused service.

The owner, Chet, conducted an on-site assessment and was extremely honest and knowledgeable. Chris, the designer, was incredibly patient, explaining everything in detail and even reviewing other quotes I received, offering his candid feedback. I spoke with several leading providers in Portland, but Sunpath earned my trust through their transparency. Maggie, the project manager, was a delight and efficiently scheduled everything. The crew arrived early today and completed the installation before dawn, and I couldn't be happier! They did an outstanding job. Special thanks to Johnathan and Kordon, the lead installer, who explained everything thoroughly, and to the technician, Keven, for his excellent work. The EV charger installer they hired was amazing too, they did the installation seamlessly without any visible wires. :) Here is a breakdown of what I've installed. - (30) REC 460 wattAlpha Pure-RX, all black solar panels - (30) Enphase IQ 8X microinverters - (1) Enphase combiner panel with system production monitoring - SnapNRack roof mount racking system - Installation of Level 2 EV Charger I highly recommend Sunpath to anyone considering solar.
