I signed a solar agreement with Solar Energy Partners in July and paid more than eleven thousand dollars in early September. From that point forward there was no progress at all even though the company repeatedly told me everything was on schedule. Critical steps were ignored for months, including contacting the roofer and moving the project forward. I was not informed when their roofer withdrew from the job and I had to discover that myself after continued follow up. These delays destroyed the project timeline and removed my ability to receive the thirty percent federal tax credit that the company repeatedly used to sell the project. This tax credit was a major financial incentive that was lost entirely because of their inaction. The project manager who supervised my project with them offered a full refund in writing on Dec 1. Despite this the company later attempted to charge me a penalty fee even though they performed no work at all. Every part of this project failed because of their delays and their lack of communication, not mine. I am now having to pursue legal action simply to recover my own money. That alone should tell you everything about the way this company handles customers. Every statement here is documented in writing. Iwas working here for a few months, was able to secure and help a family with solar deal in June, it took about 2 1/2 months for permits to process before that. I did my job. It's been close to 7 months now without pay. Even tho I paid for my gas, time , weekly meetings. If your in the solar industry avoid working here. There's about a dozen or more employees waiting for their install pay and everyone in the company from their Manager Phil Clark, Payroll, the owners Dave, Clint, and Alex. The entire solar process with SEP was dreadful and dragged on for two years with us (the owners) as the project managers. SEP acted as a broker and assembled a team of roofers, a solar installer, and a finance company--each one brought major issues. The roofer caused a leak that wasn't resolved for 2 years. It took constant effort on our part to get them to accept even partial responsibility. We lived with a hole in our living room for 2 years. The solar company promised assistance with roof issue but went out of business before doing anything. The finance company paid the roofer in full despite our clear communication that the job was incomplete. They claimed it was "at their discretion." SEP also committed to covering mold testing costs but completely ghosted us when the time came. This experience was a nightmare. SEP may sound helpful in the beginning and say all the right things, but in the end, they did not follow through on their promises. We were left to deal with the fallout alone. I would strongly caution anyone considering working with them. The whole solar process was dreadful and lasted two years. read more

I have looked into solar before but Sunrun told me they wanted $4000 for a new electric panel. I decided not to go solar. Richard came to my door and told me it was possible to still go solar without any money out of pocket. SOLD! My quoted savings were just as good as Sunrun's, if not better! Had a guy canvassing our neighborhood for solar. I don't usually talk to people that go to the door, but I decided to chat with them and set up an appointment for the next week which they never showed to. I was out walking my dog a week after that and he approached me and said that he was here and knocked on the door and didn't get an answer. We were home the entire day. I'm giving them one star,because yes our solar was eventually installed, but it took forever and there were many complications. We could barely get hold of our rep Phil Clark. The company sold their solar package that included solar CPA advice. They never delivered. We reached out to both the company and our representative multiple times and never got a response. Our own experience is this company is SO INTENTIONALLY DECEPTIVE! A young man dressed in a construction vest and carrying paperwork with the Xcel energy logo came to the house after hours (around 7 pm) and led my husband to believe that he worked for Xcel energy and needed to talk to the 'owner of the house' about the new Xcel meter and making sure the household was reimbursed for the increase in cost. Only after asking some very pointed questions did he finally acknowledge that he did not work for Xcel and that he was trying to sell solar panels for SEP. Wow. How can you begin to trust a company that uses such bold deception right out of the gate? We were absolutely appalled. read more

I recommend sales man Phil Clark for his honesty. He calculated estimates of solar panel prices and electrical bills for my house. I saw that he did valid estimates. But I decided that they were not cost-effective for me in the short run, so I did not buy the solar panels. Phil understood my reasoning, and redid the calculations with other options, but did not try to push me into buying. In contrast, some sales people in other businesses tried to do distorted calculations for me, but I figured out how they twisted the math. read more

On a Sunday afternoon, 2 salespeople from Solar Energy Partners walked past our front door, went directly to our open side gate and strolled into our private backyard pool area. My son, his wife, along with their 4 children were in the pool when the salespersons approached my 89 year old mother. These two people barged into our backyard party while impersonating and Insinuating that they were SDG&E employees. The hard press Gucci sales guy had a clip board and SDG&E's logo was front and center. It took me several minutes for them to finally admit that they were not SDG&E employees and that they were selling solar paneling. The Gucci guy was vehement and completely relentless in his sales pitch. This 64 yr old grandmother of 9, (me) had to get downright nasty in order to get them to leave. Gucci guy kept on saying, just give me 2 minutes, just give me 2 minutes. When I managed to FINALLY get them to leave, the saleswoman with the Gucci guy made a really unnecessary,snarky comment to me. We live in a gated community and these two people were not only trespassing, they were inconsiderate, obtrusive, and quarrelsome. Any company that uses these types of sales tactics is not a company I would ever use for solar panels. read more

SEP SOLAR BROKERS is the biggest scam solar company out there. They even tried to bait and switch us because they lied and didn't want to hold up their end of an agreement. We had worked with Paul, Cole, and Colin. That's not including the multiple other SEP sales people that came to our door during this whole process. Paul, Cole and SEP started out ok at first, but it quickly came clear that this was a company looking to rip you off. One of their SEP sales people came to the door and tried to say he represented SDG&E which when I pressed him on that claim he finally admitted he was lying and SEP is not affiliated with SDG&E. We sent him packing. Then another SEP salesperson came to our door again. This time he was training a new SEP solar rep (to scam and rip off people). This one continued pressing me even after I told him we were working with Paul at SEP. He began to get argumentative and hostile (seemed like he was trying to show off for his trainee). When I told him that if he was going to act that way he could leave my property. He responded with "Are you fucking serious" which I turned around and got in his face immediately. When I told him again to leave my property he replied with "this is not your property, it was public domain" (he was standing on our front porch). I had to walk him to the sidewalk all the while he was throwing insults at me. When I got him to the sidewalk I told him that was public domain. I also informed him and his trainee that this is not the way to conduct business in any way shape or form. He yelled a few more insults and then finally left. I complained to Paul and Cole, who then had their boss call me. The boss wanted to apologize for what happened. To try and fix the relationship he decided to offer me a power purchase agreement with a 0% monthly escalator. Which at first didn't sound to bad. But should have known SEP is all about the scam. Paul and Cole then began to dance around what company they were going to use. This is when I started really seeing their scam fall apart. They would say they were going to use one company because all the others were horrible and they wanted us to get the best. Then they would change that one of the companies they said were horrible are now the best. Then it was that they were going to use this smaller company, because now they were the best. That company came out did a survey and then suddenly they were now going to use another company who only had 1 employee doing installs. Then suddenly there was a new guy involved (Collin), because he now was the expert and suddenly Paul and Cole weren't the experts anymore. The new system was going to $60k for a purchase. But if we wanted the power purchase option it was going to be almost $120k. I was shocked, they wanted a 100% profit off of a power purchase agreement. That's when it hit me, they weren't giving us a good plan to fix the issue of a bad employee. Instead they simply padded the PPA with whatever escalator money they where going to miss out on due to the bad employee. On top of that suddenly what we getting changed also. It was all a long scam. SEP is a broker who sends people out without required sales certificates that is required in California, and there is a good reason they do. So they can lie and try to rip you off without being caught. All they do is take your info put it into a sketchy sales program ( I know you're because they accidently sent me a link to their internal program info) they manipulate their profit into the plan and pass it on to another company to actually do the install, but they first make sure to pad the price to get a hefty commission. Your price will include a commission for the SEP sales people, the installer, and the finance company, it's a complete solar scam. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AS FAR AS YOU CAN FROM SEP THEY ARE A WASTE OF MONEY AND EFFORT. read more

Their rep Frank took the time to ask about my usage he was very knowledgeable and took the time to really plan my project which ended up saving me additional costs due to the inverters I had to install for my pool and electric car. The system I had installed by them is my 2nd, but I had to cancel other contracts prior to working with SEP due to lack of follow through by another big-box installer. I've had solar panels installed for 2 months and still can't use them because the contractor just didn't feel like doing their jobs, and submit the building permit, and apparently I was the only one keeping up with that. Half-assed work when it comes to making an investment to save you money is horrible. That's why I gave it a 3. A few weeks ago a couple of young men came to my door and wanted to speak with me about their product. I explained that I do not make these types of decisions on unsolicited sales calls but if they had literature or other information they could provide I would check it out later. At first, they tried to persist but I just repeated myself. They then wrote down one of their names "Jake", a phone number, and the company name on a piece of notebook paper. I wish I never did business with SEP. They're extremely overpriced to begin with, and unethical to top it off. They sold my parents a system in December 2021 with a specific panel, when the installers showed up in January they installed a completely different brand panel. Not to mention the installers showed up looking like they had been drinking all night, smoking cigarettes, their pants hanging bellow their ass, just the most unprofessional trio you can imagine. At one point I confronted one of them about blowing his nose out onto the driveway and he laughed like it was funny. Super unhappy about the bait and switch they pulled, still hoping we can get this resolved but the District manager is trying to strong arm my mom into keeping the system even though it's not what she agreed to. But when it comes to SEP solar, it's both bad. Terrifyingly bad. Embarrassingly bad. I first moved from texas to Oklahoma for this company, not knowing where they would set up shop cause they couldn't find their way out of a paper bag, they finally say that we are moving Fayetteville arkansas, from there to pea ridge, now bentonville arkansas. I've had tons of cancels with them because it's only a short while after being set up with them that the customer finds out they are about to go through a roller coaster of a ride. Also you don't even know if you're being set up by SEP or arrow point or arrow head solar. Worst experience ever. Steer clear of this company. The company I work for now does installs in two weeks, it takes SEP 6 months because they don't know solar or how to do solar. read more

Still waiting for them to finish the job, my solar is on but they agreed to abide by the rules of my HOA before they started the job and have yet to come back to complete the job. Now I'm on the hook with my HOA because have exceeded the 30 day turn around time. They are not a company that works well with HOAs and will rather have you sign an exemption form so they can get the sale and if you decide not sign the exemption form convince you they will comply with the HOA requests before even breaking ground/installation and then leave the job without doing so and you're still on the hook with your HOA. read more

this company is a complete disaster. The salesman came over showed me two separate quotes. I decided to go with them then they change the price drastically all of a sudden $10,000 of additional money was needed in order for my system to be installed. I personally knew I needed a new roof, when they came here they said I did not. I said it would be fine, but what they didn't tell me was that the roof may be OK now, but it's not going to last the entire life of the panels so I'm gonna have to takeoff the panels at my own cost do the roof and then put them back on their shady.
