Had two tree stakes installed for $100 (each steak cost $5 for wood). Stakes came loose days later because they were only inches deep. Placement of stakes was lazy and ended up damaging a limb. Called back and the lady who answered the phone said they were booked months out to come back. Solano Shade Tree just left our home. They did an excellent Job trimming a pine trees, climbed to the top (at least 40 feet tall) and started trimming and cutting out dead branches, tree looks great. I called them up after my longtime Arborist had retired. I had an issue with my citrus tree, and I had quite a few questions about my mulberry trees and other trees. Yvan came out and was very knowledgeable and helpful. He assessed the situation with my citrus tree and referred me to a laboratory for soil samples. Step one: the estimate: A few drove up, plaid hunting shirts, a few teeth missing "Yeah we could cut this"...a week later no estimate, we dropped them....another had an estimate appointment at noon, called him at 12:30 and he said "sorry I had to wash my truck" came at 1pm and preached as if he was the Dali Lama of tree people, asked about prices...enrich soil, 2,000, chemical treatment 2,000 and trim at least 2000...no thanks Solano Tree came, a guy named Eric, asked me what I wanted, studied arborism at UC Davis...but he didn't talk too much. Quietly noting, looking and dealing with the qualities of my tree Eric said "we'll get you an estimate by email in a few days. He did...less than 2000 Months later the appointment set this July...between 10 and 11 am the 5th of July. They came 2 hours early! Eric and a crew 2 other serious workers looked, planned, explained and got busy with my 50 foot tree. Neighbors, my wife and I watched as one cherry-picked from their huge truck, another roped and climbed like a branch inhabiting species, and the other directed and cleaned enormous droppings in their appetite- anxious tree chipper. I have owned my home in Solano County for 16 years. I was very happy to have a property with several mature trees, but I didn't realize how much work they are. The first few years I had 3 or 4 area tree services come to do tree maintenance, but once I used Solano Shade I knew this was the only tree servicing company I would need or want. Yvan is so friendly and down to earth, as well as being extremely knowledgeable and professional. He puts a lot of time and attention to each job, whether it's just a trimming, or bringing a large tree down. The men he sends to the job are friendly, and incredibly hard working. The lady in the office is also very nice and helpful, and their prices are very reasonable. I will never use another service, they just don't offer this level of performance. read more

The arborist was booked a few weeks out so the owner of the company got on the phone with me and gave me a phone consultation. As a amateur gardener I really appreciate when someone treats my garden like their own. I can't say enough nice things about these guys. I have used them for over 20 odd years in a home that I can proudly say is surrounded by trees. They just finished pruning a very large Silver Maple and Canary Palm, our pride and joys and they never looked better. Once a few years ago they suggested I cut down a sucker on our fig and I ignored this advise. Today I had them cut it down, should have listened to them !! LOL read more
