I recently had a new washer and dryer installed, and the installer told me my water valves were leaking and needed to be replaced. This was the first company I called because of their high number of reviews, which I now regret trusting. The price I was charged to replace those valves was outrageous--nearly $1,100, and they didn't even bother to repair or replace the sheetrock afterward. For such a basic job, that alone felt excessive. It gets worse. After doing just one load of laundry, my water heater on the second floor started leaking down into the first floor. This had NEVER happened before they worked on my plumbing. I called them immediately, but they couldn't send anyone out until the next day. When a technician finally arrived, I was quoted $4,000 to replace the water heater. That didn't sit right with me, so I decided to get a second opinion. I contacted another company, and the difference was unbelievable. They charged me $2,300 for the same water heater replacement, showed up within an hour of my call, and completed the entire job in about two hours. Out of curiosity, I also asked them what they would have charged to replace the laundry room valves. Their answer? Around $350. So I was charged nearly three times the going rate for a simple repair, and then quoted almost double for the water heater replacement. That's not just overpriced, that feels completely PREDATORY. I strongly recommend getting multiple quotes before hiring anyone, especially this company. I would not use them again and would not recommend them to anyone.

I told him to replace a hot water stop that under the kitchen sink. The company owner, me and the plumber all on the phone talked the price is $250 for replacing one water stop (dual angle stop). They asked $500 for replacing two water stops, but I rejected. I feel their price is too high so I asked them only replacing one. After the plumber replaced one dual angle stop, they sent me an invoice $325, without any reason why they charge more than $250. I sent them two messages and one email to ask reasons but I haven't received any answer. You should pay special attention if you use this business. $250 for replacing one water stop is a high price but they changed to $325.

I needed a plumber for my upstairs bathroom, so, of course I called Barney's...the technician who replied is Matt. He also had a young man with him, who was NOT introduced. Maybe, he was an apprentice? I Dont know. I needed a 8 inch faucet installed, and Matt also had to do some " EXTRA" WORK, because the previous technician jerry-rigged it...anyway, it cost me $390...!!! I Paid $159 for the faucet...so, I feel this was excessive. I know, for a fact, that I WOULD NOT have been charged this much if it was Barney or Alex... Not sure that I will call Matt again...I really think that he should have introduced the young man, whether he was learning, or an apprentice...whatever! Just a suggestion. .
