Don't go here if you want your pupillary distance (PD) as part of your exam to get glasses somewhere else. I understand small businesses can't compete with big box stores and online retailers, but I was straight up with my intentions and was passive aggressively denied the measurement as "it's not part of the exam." From the moment I called the make an appointment. as a first time patient, I was truest impressed. Crystal was polite and was able to book me an appointment a few days out with short notice. The office is beautifully decorated and comfortable yet I hardly spent more than 5 minutes waiting before I was called back. Just long enough to get my paperwork filled out. Dr Krewer immediately made me feel comfortable with his friendly, calm, professional demeanor. He thoroughly explained every test, in an easy to understand manor. I learned a lot about how my eyes work as we looked over the images together. I never felt like I was being rushed for the sake of seeing another patient. After the exam, Dr Krewer offered to print my prescription so I could shop for my glasses anywhere I'd like. No pressure or sales tactic to buy from Solace. It was important to me to go to someone knowledgeable and Dr Tampoya was awesome. He explained everything and was really easy to talk to. You can tell he really cares about his patients. Whoa! The equipment was so high tech! Everything was modern and the whole place is really nice. I knew I really wanted some unique designer frames and I was so happy to see all the choices!! I found some Chloe's that I absolutely love!! Then I saw they have a house brand that were really nice too. And I couldn't believe how cheap they were, so I bought a pair of those too. Dr. Krewer is a very knowledgeable, professional and kind man. He explains each procedure as he goes along. He listened to every concern I had and knew exactly what I was talking about. I had LASIK surgery 15 yrs ago and am finding that I need help reading and working on the computer. The over the counter "cheaters" are not working any longer. We were so happy with our experience at Solace Optometry! I have a two year old who has been complaining about her eye hurting so we brought her in. The office was very clean and they are taking all precautions with everything going on with Covid right now. They took our temperatures upon arrival and only allowed one family in the office at a time, while cleaning in between patients. My daughter loved the toy story theme in the exam room and Dr. Krewer was amazing with her. So let me start by saying they are a very good at optometry. Why the 2 star rating? I feel I was misled about out of network billing. Basically they told me just get the forms from your insurance that we no longer take, we'll fill them out, you submit them, and you will get reimbursed for the $600 + you have put on your credit card. Well 3 months later and I've gotten a total of $35 back from my insurance. When we called them they offered to call the insurance and then called me back saying the insurance company refused to talk to them about my claims. In short, I was made to believe that I would be able to be reimbursed for my expenses or at least the majority. This was not the case and I am now on my second round of trying to apply for reimbursement. Had I known the hassle I would have just gone to an in network provider and avoided all of this. I believe the responsible thing for them to do is advise finding an in network provider, but they're in business to make money right? Well, they've lost my business are being slammed on here and on Google and are getting reported to the medical board. I think it's probably not worth the money? read more
