I got the Gen Z treatment when I was there in May. Very strange. I walked in. There was no one else there. The girl behind the desk said a curt hello very quickly as I walked in and then put her head down and wouldn't look at me. I stood there at the counter for a moment, waiting for her to look up. She didn't. I said, Oh, are you busy with something, do you want me to wait? She said, "No, I said hello." I said, Ok. But you have your head down, so I thought maybe you were finishing something on the computer. It was so odd. She seems to think she's too good to be working there. Too good to help customers. i love sol spa. surprised to see so many negative reviews. yes, you get charged on the 16th or 17th every month if you don't cancel. i suspend my account once or twice a year and pay $5/month to keep it going. then i just come back and turn it on when i'm ready to come back. you can't cancel mid-billing cycle and get a prorated discount, but you can tell them on the 10th that you want to suspend your account and they'll switch it to standby on the 16th. i've been going for years. the beds are GREAT. the Turbo and the KBL beds are amazing. 10-12 mins, super cool, one KBL even mists you every 3 minutes, and it's like less than $70/mo to be able to go tan every single day in those beds. the cheaper beds are hot and you have to lie in them longer. the standup bed will roast the hell out of you in 10 mins. gotta have a good base tan for that one. there's also a red light therapy bed you can use as part of your package. all the employees have been super nice to me and often learn my name after a couple weeks of my going daily. then i put my thing on hold for the winter. gotta make sure you call and cancel on time, tho, because once that charge hits, you're signed up for another month! read more

1713 N College Bloomington Indiana location. My daughter signed up for one month in Feb. 2022 to get a base tan before college spring break. They said that she could not sign up for just one month but had her sign a cancel form and they would take care of it after her one month. However, they charged her again in March 2022...I emailed them and she called them. They said there was nothing they could do and cannot find her cancelation form. They also said a lot of people are calling about this issue as they were charge again too. Lesson learned. Do not go here short term or at least get a copy of your cancelation form. **Three unauthorized charges in two days** I haven't been into the tanning salon since February because of COVID and because I've been very sick since early March with a five-month attack of an autoimmune disorder that affects my skin. I haven't been able to tan for months, and won't be able to tan for the foreseeable future. On August 18, I checked my bank balance and saw that I had a charge from Sol Spa on the 17th for $76.99 and two charges on the 18th, both for $81.99. Now, remember that I haven't been in since February... I went into the spa to see what was going on and the employee was on the phone with someone who had the exact same issue. She got off the phone and looked at my account. She said she wasn't authorized to do refunds, so she called the owner. She explained to him the situation and he asked to talk to me. I got on the phone with him and explained that I hadn't been in for months (he could see this on my account), and that I didn't understand why I had three charges in two days. I told him that I needed a refund. He said that he would give me $180 in store credit. I told him that I couldn't use store credit because I won't be able to tan for the foreseeable future and that I just need a refund. He said that Planet Fitness wouldn't give me a refund. I told him I didn't understand what Planet Fitness had to do with the situation, and that I just needed a refund for a service that I hadn't use and for three debits that I hadn't authorized. He said that he would give me store credit and I told him again that because of medical conditions, I wouldn't be able to use store credit. He told me that if I gave him documentation of my condition from my doctor, he would think about writing me a check for a refund and mailing it to my home. I told him that asking for my medical information was a HIPAA violation and that him "thinking about mailing a check to my home" was not an acceptable resolution because I had no guarantee of ever hearing from him or getting a refund. I was on the phone for 20 minutes while this guy yelled at me, told me not to "talk to him like that" called me names, and threatened to call the police on me. I remained calm and just kept repeating that I had not used this service for months, would not be able to use it for the foreseeable future, had not authorized three charges in two days, and that I needed a refund rather than an unusable store credit. After 20 minutes on the phone, I still have no resolution. I have been forced to cancel my debit card to prevent unauthorized charges. This has been a huge hassle that has taken up a large amount of time and mental energy. I'm not sure how many people have experienced this issue, but I know that there was at least one more because I heard the employee talking to them. The employees at the store have always been helpful and kind; it's just the owner who I had trouble with today. I'm a college student with little expendable cash for enjoyable things. Bought a $50 tanning package at the beginning of summer as a well earned gift. Used it twice and after that the summer sun was all I needed. Just went back today (end of the summer) and was told my package had expired. Expired?! What do you mean? This seems to be a very dishonest way of making money for this company. Packages should not have an expiration date. I should get what I paid for. This place legitimately scams you out of your money so hard. No matter what you do, DONT buy a membership here or go to them!!! They wrongfully charged my card numerous times and when I would call to speak with the manager, they would claim to write my name & number down and call back but I would never receive call back after calling over 6 times. When I finally got the manager on the phone, I was only offered a free spray tan to make up for lots of wrongful charges & im a broke college student. This business is full of liars and scammers and there are much better tanning places to spend your money at. Whatever you do, DONT TRUST THIS PLACE!!
