They both encouraged me to do some research and to try it before I made my final judgement. I did some follow up research and it turns out that the origins of float therapy have been around for about 40-50 years. I've had a lot of stress so far this year so I decided to just give it a try. There is actual scientific research that has been done on this therapy. I will let you do your own research in that area so you can make up your mind about the potential benefits of this therapy. The following is my account of my experience. I arrived and was warmly greeted by the manager(Derrick) and the owner(Joseph). They quickly got me checked in and then the manager gave me a quick tour of the facility. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and definitely puts off a relaxing vibe. Once my tour was over, he showed me to the room where I would be floating and gave me what I considered to be a very thorough orientation on what to do, how to do it, how everything worked, and even included a warning on how to wipe my hair at the end of the session and being careful on getting out(you'll be a little slippery afterwards-more on that later). Like I said, a very thorough orientation. After my orientation, he started the music, flipped the sign on the door to indicate that the room was occupied and left me to it. I locked the door to the very private room, reviewed my surroundings and then started on the routine that he had laid out for me. When I first set up my appointment I was worried that 60 minutes in this pod, alone with my thoughts, would be boring and I'd wind up ending early. I was definitely wrong. I wondered a couple of times during the session how long I had been in there. But before I knew it the light in the pod had kicked on and the music started back up indicating that my session was up. I remembered previous instructions to wipe my hair back after I was done to ensure I didn't get any salt in my eyes, carefully exited, and showered. Be careful when you exit. The salt makes you extremely slippery. The shower is right next to the pod though so you can quickly remedy this. The salt washes off easily with the bodywash and shampoos so no worries there. After my shower, I checked the clock on my phone because I was just sure that I hadn't been in that pod for a whole 60 minutes. But sure enough, I had. Wow. Just wow. Overall, my experience was very positive, from interacting with the owner via facebook beforehand, to checking in, the float, and relaxing after. The only thing that wasn't recommended to me that I honestly should have thought of myself was to bring a comb for afterwards. I left feeling relaxed but energized. I definitely recommend you do some research about floating and then try it out for yourself. The price tag can be a little bit of a sticker shock but there are ways to reduce your cost if you decide to do it regularly and I think they have a special for 1st time floaters. I can be a bit of tightwad but i enjoyed the experience enough to tell you that I will definitely be back, next time with a comb and a voice recorder. Advice: don't set to many expectations before your 1st float, just enjoy it for whatever it turns out to be for you. This was a pretty big change but the staff here made sure that I was comfortable and excited for it each step of the way from my consult to the days after my appointment! My consult was the most comfortable one I've ever experienced; all of my questions were answered completely honestly (telling me how the color might affect my skin tone, how important the upkeep would be, how much that upkeep might cost-things other salons don't always want to tell you) and made me feel no pressured or discomfort in any way. The super sweet guy who spoke to me through my appointment explained that the salon doesn't run on commission and assured me that I would be very well taken care of in the hands of a newer employee named Shayna, and that this option would be more in my price range as opposed to seeing him, a master stylist. However, all of the newer stylists are supported by more senior stylists to make sure everything goes smoothly. A few days later I went back in to ask if I would be able to take a picture of the color swatch I was planning to go with as I was getting nervous about my upcoming appointment. The owner of the salon who happened to be up front sat with me and talked me through everything and gave me even more suggestions to make me more comfortable. It was so so sweet and all of the help leading up to the appointment made me nothing but excited to make the change! During my appointment with Shayna I was the most comfortable I have ever been during a hair appointment. She talked me thorough everything again, listened very carefully to everything I wanted and all of my questions and, most importantly, she freaking nailed it. I am obsessed with my new hair. The color is perfect despite it being a more challenging color, the cut is THE BEST CUT I HAVE EVER RECEIVED. PERIOD. As if all of this wasn't enough, I woke up a few days later to a voicemail from Shayna checking in, asking how I was feeling and if I had any questions about everything we changed. I was so impressed and grateful. The service at this salon is unmatched. Final note that's very important: the salon and employees had by far the best Covid-19 procedures I've seen in any business yet. When you enter employees touch the door handles and everything else so multiple people aren't touching, a mask is required during every point in your appointment. There is hand sanitizer at the door, you have to use it, they take your temperature, the whole thing. I can't say enough good things (as you probably noticed from the length of this) but please just do your hair a favor and go see the Royale team!

My color is bright and even, and she really listened to what I wanted. She also has a fantastic personality and is easy to chat with while she works. Jade cut my hair and before she began we talked about what I wanted and I showed her a couple of pictures of what I had in mind. She also did exactly what I wanted, and it looks great! I have had many experiences with stylists ignoring what I've asked for and just doing whatever they felt like and then I end up having to go and get it corrected. Not here! They took their time and did everything just right! This will be my go-to salon from now on. I couldn't be happier!

I had a great experience! The owner Sylvia was my stylist and she was very warm and welcoming. She did a very nice job with the shampooing and when we got back to the chair I wasn't afraid she had forgotten everything I had already told her I would like for a haircut - she reiterated what we were doing and set about it. She asked a lot of questions about my daily styling routine, etc. and made many helpful suggestions as to how I could enhance that or what to watch out for. I felt like I learned so much and got exactly the haircut I wanted at the same time!
