We really enjoyed this taproom! There is a lounge with live music and wine room attached, but wasn't open when we visited in the afternoon. The beer menu was on a white board just inside the door with many local brews available. Our server was exceptional! Besides being attentive, friendly and on the spot, she was familiar with the beers and breweries. We enjoyed an icy cold beer and good conversation. read more

Lee and Jesse know their barley pop well, obtaining elusive Alaskan Brewing company's White and Amber kegs.....as many as they can get---along with semi local brewers like Upper Hand, Keweenaw and Blackrocks. Worst dive bar I've ever been to. The place was decently lit. Had nice neon. The area we sat in was comfortable, and didn't feel like it was hoping we would have a drink and move on with our miserable lives. There are Mules, even in copper mugs. What self-respecting dive bar would do such a thing. The popcorn was fresh and not stale at all. There was a live performance, and not even of some guy throwing up from excessive pbr consumption! There was a decent selection of liquors and of beer. I don't know what dive bar manual they studied from, but they got the wrong one. This place seems nice enough to take a person on a date to. That's not what I'm looking for! Friendly staff, such a turn off. I didn't see one cockroach! See if I ever come back here in 9 years! read more

Great drinking spot in Iron Mountain. Reasonably wide selection of whiskies, Scotches, and spirits. TV packages with the major games and nice bartenders/owners. I would definitely recommend. read more

This is a great little bar. Nice decor (exposed brick, original art, a cool old safe in the back because the space used to be a bank), good drinks and well heeled (for the area anyway) patrons. Definitely worth checking out. read more

A breath of fresh air after the dives and joints in Iron Mountain...this is a cool place to get a cocktail or glass of wine and occasionally live music. I'd like for them to update their website more frequently with that last piece of information, but the local owners/bartenders are super friendly and pour some mean concoctions. I didn't care for the Sol Blu Martini but I had a classic vodka martini that was just what the doctor ordered! read more

This is a nice Lounge with great decor and excellent drink options. They have an extensive Martini list and have many Michigan craft beers. I was so happy to find a place that had Shorts Beer. Sol Blu is our go to place for a cocktail or beer in the area. read more

Wow, this place was nice and, yes, very different from the general Iron Mountain scene. A nice new bar with flat-screen TVs, a wide selection of beers, a large cocktail menu (which are all called "martinis" for some reason)...this would be considered a cool bar in any major city, and you can find it in the humble U.P. read more

Don't get me wrong. It's a neat place to go, and the bartender I encounter most is nice and funny, but it's just not that great. It's an east side milwaukee hipster bar in the UP. The music is always loud and the lighting sucks. If you call it the tap room, you should probably have a bunch of taps. There was nothing very fancy there. The specialty cocktail lounge isn't very special. They don't make great drunks. With that said I will probably go back. read more

This bar is vastly different than most of the other bars you'll find in Iron Mountain. It has very dim lighting and a modern look to it. They offer a wide variety of beers to choose from and the service is friendly. However, I'm confused about the food situation here. They offer complimentary popcorn, which is nice, but I think that may be it. There's a microwave behind the bar, but I didn't see a kitchen anywhere. Being a lounge, I'm not expecting a large menu with lots of entree options, but sandwiches, salads and apps would be nice. I'll definitely stop in for a beer and watch a game when in the area again. read more

Well lit. Good beer selection. Unexpectedly modern bar for the middle of the UP.

Let me start by saying it's 10:30 on a Monday after a holiday weekend, but I find this place soulless. Think NYC atitude cold unoriginal lacking in character. It could be a chain. This place by far has the biggest verity of drinks in town. It's nice, like a Starbucks. I want to like it here. I don't know if its the bartenders cold demeanor, the 20 somethings want to be frat boys plad shorts, the "I'm iron mountains small town royalty", or the top 40 playing just a little to loud for polite conversation that makes this place such a poser atmosphere. Service is dependent if the bartender is out sucking down a cigarette or if an over perfumed pretty boy is chatting her up. I cannot pin point it but this place sucks puppy peckers! I see everyone else likes this place, but those are the people who think Walmart and the Olive Garden are great! I gave it three stars only because I cannot pin point what makes the place so plastic and fake. It deserves a 2 star review. read more

Fantastic bar, great drinks, great people, and they have by far the best selection of tap beers around.... THE BEST IN TOWN BY FAR.

After reading all the reviews, I thought I should check this place out for an after dinner drink. Specialty cocktails and friendly bartenders was the claim in reviews. Hold onto your hats, Negative Nancy is making an appearance. I sat down at the Tap Room bar. After taking a gander at the taps, I realized there was nothing I was impressed enough to drink considering the bartender could barely tell me what was on tap due to the giant wad of chewing tobacco he was nursing. The fella I sat next to at the bar had a great spit cup going, so I decided to take my leave to the specialty cocktail side of the bar. Their specialty cocktails are really just martinis and mules. I settled on a mule and after the bartender exclaimed that she'd be happy to make it for me after she figured out what was in it, I didn't hold out much hope. Glad I didn't venture off menu for a Manhattan or some such nonsense. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the drink, hence the extra star. Thankfully, the decent drink managed to eclipse my offense at having to leave my ID with the bar in the event I made off with the precious copper mug. Really?! I applaud the consistency of the application of policy, but profile your customers or don't offer drink ware you can't afford to lose a few. Granted I'm not a Yooper and I was only passing through on business, but next time I'll stick to the dives and enjoy my Miller Lite because I can appreciate that as much as fancy drinks and beers trying too hard. There you go after all that complaining, no wonder not a soul spoke to me at the bar! read more
