If you are in this area and are looking for some good food, good atmosphere, good people, look no further. I had the cowboy burger with the BBQ sauce and all the other stuff that goes on it. LOVED IT! Tried the sweet potatoes fries and the flavored tater tots. Seems like you can't go wrong with this place, it was all good. At the table we were sitting at there was a trivial pursuit box with all the cards in it. So we ended up having a great time asking each other a bunch of interesting questions. What else can I say? Just if this place is an option- take it. read more

If you close your eyes and think of a north woods Wisconsin bar and grill, your are thinking of Tavern on Central. Locals sitting at the bar, plenty of taxedermy, Random electronic gambling machines in the corner(for entertainment purposes only, I'm sure). The place is North woods Wisconsin clean, which is pretty good considering other places I've bee to in the area, and the staff is friendly. A lot of fried food, but that's not a bad thing. All of the fried apps are good, and if you go there on a Friday, you can enjoy a great fish fry. If you go there during the week, I would skip the burgers, which are OK, and grab yourself a bowl of their chilli which is really good. Have it with a fried side. Great place in the north woods. Check it out next time you're in the area. read more

Pretty solid bar/food establishment. Service was a bit slow but I don't think expected it to be packed on a Tuesday afternoon. We ordered cheese curds, which were just alright and the fried pickle slices. It was taco Tuesday and you can't really beat $2 tacos. My kids enjoyed that. I had the chicken club sandwich. It doesn't come with any sides but it was really big and juicy. read more

Service - rude as hell, minimizes everything else. Ambiance - fair. What you'd expect from a north woods bar. The snotty service makes the rest of it not worth the stop. There are other places to go. read more

Tavern On Central - a bloody cup with a burger and onion rings - Bars Near Me - Florence, Wisconsin

From out of town thought we would give this place a try. was going to get a burger, but the waitress said it was a frozen burger.Decided on the cod nuggets and fries. It was better than I thought. Husband had burger he said it was ok. Beer was good. Friendly staff looked like a lot of young people working on a Sat. night. read more

The food was acceptable bar fair though I prefer real mayo. The blonde bartender/waitress, however, was rude to the point of b!tchy. I was a waiter longer than she's been alive and I expect polite if not friendly service. She was snappy and short in her answers to my basic questions, as if it was an imposition to be asked. She also acted as if she thought she was a lot prettier than she is. The other waitress was far prettier and though she did not serve me seemed much friendlier. I will not be hurrying back. read more
