The good: This is a super cute store for kids and baby clothes. The stuff is really hip and trendy and they have a sale section in the back. When I say trendy I mean things like rocker outfits, surfer-inspired clothes, bohemian girls' accessories, and horoscope books. I found cute summer hats and aesthetically pleasing shirts. This is a great spot to buy a gift for a friend's kid. They also sell merchandise with local city names. You can find their stuff online too. The bad: I think it's street parking only. Their stuff is expensive (around $45 for a onesie). The interesting: They ship things for free if you purchase $25 or more. read more

Very cute Baby store with uncomfortable customer service! My friend drove up from Temecula to visit the beach. We decided to stop and walk into this store before we headed home. She just had her first baby, being a beautiful baby girl, with her amazing husband so she is always excited to buy her adorable baby clothes. This store had very cute baby clothes, accessories and books. I told my friend across the store "awww you make me want to have a baby" due to seeing her excitement to all the adorable things in the store. To my disappointment the women working the cashier interrupted stating "no you don't! They suck the life out of you. Just marry for money men are useless." This made my friend and I feel extremely uncomfortable. I was just able to let out an uncomfortable laugh and my friend told her "not all men are bad". I don't understand how someone can work at a store for babies & say such a negative comment especially with a mother in their presence. Very disgusting & disturbing comment. read more

Sol Baby - Book - Children's Clothing Near Me - Hermosa Beach, California

Love the clothes here. So cute - could have more sizes available for more shoppers. Only suggestion. read more

I love this store! We come every time we visit family in the area. They have adorable kids clothes, accessories and toys. It's a must stop by place. They have super cute souvenir T-shirts, sweats, hats and even pjs! Everything is very high quality. Nutshell- love it! read more

Sol Baby is a wonderful store with super friendly staff! I've lived in Hermosa Beach for 12+ years, and Sol Baby has always been my "go-to" store for great gifts for infants, toddlers & kids. I can't understand ANYTHING less than a 5 Star review for Sol Baby, Gina and Ming are super kind and helpful!! read more

This place is great. I can't tell you how many times it's been my go to when I'm looking for something really unique and cool as a gift for a little one. A lot of the stuff in there is geared towards adults, like rock 'n' roll from 70s and 80s and hip-hop shirts from the 90s, but sized for kids. But I think that's what makes it such a great hit with the parents, some great stuff with a touch of nostalgia. read more

Let me first start by saying this store carries super cute clothes and items. Every time I have walked by or gone inside I have loved the selection and quality of the items. With that said, I do not feel comfortable shopping here depending on the woman who is working at the time. I was walking with my friend the other day and she wanted to go in- when I saw who was working I refused and here is why. Last November I went in with my friend and we were so excited to see everything. We were going to lunch and planned to buy the items we liked on the walk back up to her house so we wouldn't have to carry anything. The whole time the woman working followed us as if we were criminals. When we said thank you and said we would be back, we turned to leave. The woman working came up to us and offered us candy canes. When we politely refused she insisted and put BOTH of her hands in one of my friends cardigan pockets, and my friend felt her feeling around in her pockets looking if she stole anything. We left and discussed how awkward and uncomfortable it made us feel. My friend said she felt violated but was so shocked she did not know what to say. We did not go back. Also, I did not feel our dress was suspicious. We had come from a pilates class and were wearing yoga pants and workout tops. My friend had a light cardigan on, which is what the worker put her hands in. Later my friend said she wanted to go back to purchase the items she saw for a friend's child's birthday. She said when she went in it was the same woman working, and she feel her taking photos of her as she shopped. She refused to purchase from the store and left without saying a word. I am not positive our experiences are because of our race, but it made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. Our friend that goes in frequently has said she never had that issue, but she is also a pretty, white, blond woman. Not sure if others have had this experience here but if so you aren't alone. I always check when I walk by to see who is working because I only want to shop when I am treated as a respected customer. read more

Mamas, I do not recommend this store. You can pass on this one. After my experience there I had to look up the reviews to see if it was just me... Good to know they are consistently toxic when it comes to customer service. I shouldn't have purchased anything from this store -- because I was being treated as if I was going to steal. According to the reviews here, I'm not the only one who sensed this. It's too bad because they have cute stuff but you can go to SOOOOO many other baby boutiques that treat their customers nicely. Why would you keep hiring mean people at a store for babies?! read more

I popped in the other day and got a great book for children that I am definitely keeping for myself. I asked the store manager, Ming Ming if she would recommend a toy that kids tend to gravitate towards for my friends kids who I would see the next day. She recommended a very inexpensive gift and it's been the baby girls number 1 toy this week. I thought that was pretty cool story, bro. :) read more

Love this place. Very cool baby and toddler clothing right up my alley "hippie"! We were the original hippies. My nephew loved the shark and crab onesy. You won't find this anywhere else unless you spend a lot of time to look for it. So convenient. Right down the street. They giftwrap and ship, etc. They have so many rock and roll clothing -- I think Led Zep for the babies. I'll be back because my brother is having a baby girl and she's gonna wear some Led Zep. read more

I have to agree with others bad reviews. The customer service is awful. Nobody else was in the store when I walked in and the female employee just stared at me, no hello no smile, just stared. I was in a hurry to find a last minute gift or I would have walked right out and looked elsewhere. As I was looking through the books I heard her calling me from behind the counter, I looked at her and she gave me this annoying aggravated look. I guess she had been trying to get my attention and I had not heard her. Not sure why that pissed her off so much but maybe if a customer can't hear you maybe walk closer to them or speak louder? Sounds like more appropriate options. I love my little beach town and supporting small businesses but the customer service here is poop. read more

I stumbled upon this store in its previous location on Hermosa Ave. I began stopping in often because I'm at that age where all my friends and cousins are popping out babies. Whenever I needed a gift for a kid I could count on Sol Baby, so when they moved, I was very relieved to learn they were just moving down the street to Pier Ave. read more

Super obsessed with their adorable "south bay vibe" trucker / baseball hats for infants & toddlers!! They come Unisex, boy, girl, and even fit adults! Also have really cute Hermosa Beach shirts: long-sleeve, short-sleeve and tanks. read more

I have never been to the actual store - but came across the adorable website ( www.sol-baby.com) while looking for a unique baby shower gift. I am always a bit weary and completely OCD when it comes to ordering something online - will it fit? Is it quality? Can you return it? Will it arrive on time? The sweet sweet kind hearted owner just gave the kindest impression. I ordered two onesies (one was a Johnny Cash variety - "Crawl the Line" and the other said "My Mom Rocks" with a little electric guitar) and as she was placing the order - she accidentally made a penmark on one of the onesies. That happened to be the last of that color, and she emailed me and asked if I would be okay with a different color - and actually sent me $5 refund. It was no biggie - but it's reasons such as this that I prefer finding boutiques and independent shops that give you a different level of customer service than the big box chains. The onesies came in a cute kraft-colored box with the sol baby logo... it looked really nice. And - most importantly - it got the biggest Ahhhhhs! at the shower! Thank you Sol Baby, you are a keeper! read more

Affordable and cute clothes, staff is very nice! Store looks amazing compared to others. Definitely a unique find for baby clothes!

I am Only giving a 1 Star because zero wasn't an option . Horrible customer service we were the only customers on a Thursday early afternoon , and the lady working was not friendly at all . She never said hello or asked if we needed help . We walked around and found a few items we were going to purchase . Suddenly my daughter sits her small dog who was on a leash on the floor and she snapped and said " I need you to pick up that dog " . Then a white lady with her daughter walks in and she becomes super nice to them and greets them asking if they need help . I quickly put all my items down and walked out . I would never do business with someone who treated customers like this read more

Best customer service hands down! The lady working here was kind and attentive and helped me out with all my needs. It was definitely very busy, but she was able to accommodate everyone. If you're looking for a gift for a kid or even shopping for your own, definitely come through here. They have great products (clothes, toys, shoes, accessories) for a variety of ages, with great quality and style. Will definitely be returning! The only reason I opened a Yelp account was to give this place a review because I feel like it is underappreciated. read more

Excellent customer service! Love everything I got for my daughter's birthday outfit. Will definitely be coming back soon!

When it comes to shopping for my boys and giving gifts, I like to think outside the Carter's and Circo brands. This place is perfect for adorable kids clothes, both for boys and girls. They also carry blankets, slings, and maternity wear. The location is easy to get to and the people who work there are very helpful. Must visit Sol Baby! read more

This store is awesome!!! We just moved from Miami to Ca and were in search of a place that had a great selection of clothing and supplies for our new baby girl. The staff is always super helpful and friendly. There is an array of interesting clothing, and toys. This is definitely my go to store when in the area. read more

Wish I could give a negative...but I used to shop there until the owner Gina flipped out on me today with a text telling me to call the F-ing store for my requests???? I have been coming here as a local for many years and then to be treated this poorly was shocking and eye-opening. Needless to say, I will take my business to Manhattan Beach...prices at Baby Sol are ridiculous anyways. I am a customer, not her friend...she had been texting me in the past about the shoes and I texted her today to see if she had them in a bigger size...her response is "CALL THE F-ING STORE, WE ARE NOT PALS!!!!" WOW??? Don't go....she may flip out on you. read more

Clothes are cute and there is a wide variety of things to buy. The staff is always rude and everything is very expensive. I'd rather support other small businesses like Gum tree kids where the staff is friendly and helpful. read more

This place is great. Owner is so nice and so on the ball to help at all times with your questions or orders. Only have done business with this store over the internet since they are located in Hermosa beach California and I'm from New York, but great experience overall. Great selection of unique items that are all hand selected. Will be shopping there again. read more

I stumbled into this store and it has been such a great find. Instead of having to go to a shopping mall and get another boring baby gift...I run in and out! Since everyone is getting pregnant all around me...I don't have the time to find the perfect gift...Plus the owner is there and she ROCKS!! read more

Love, love, love Sol Baby. I cannot count the number of baby shower gifts, baby gifts, birthday gifts, etc. etc. etc. I have purchased here over the last few years I've lived in Hermosa. The owner is so welcoming and low-pressure while being very helpful and friendly. I always find what I'm looking for and more. From frilly tutus to rocker tees, Sol Baby has it all. I've been able to find a perfect outfit to suit every kind of parent's taste. Fabulous store...I'm sure I will spend a small fortune here when I get pregnant myself! read more

Went here and the old lady working here was rude. I walked in and wasn't greeted no one else was inside shopping at the store so not like she was busy. Not once did she say hi or ask if I needed help read more

I am giving this store such high reviews for two very important reasons, 1) Incredible, unique merchandise and 2) The owner was so friendly and welcoming. I bought a baby bib with Bob Marley on it and wanted to buy an adorable skirt that is made locally but I liked it more than my picky daughter did! I found really different clothes here and cannot wait to go back this year! This store is about a block from the beach and has real curb appeal- check it out when in Hermosa Beach! read more

Love Sol Baby!! Great for gifts too!!

Sol Baby has a great selection of adorable baby items! I was looking for beach themed/So Cal themed clothing items for twin babies who live in Ohio. I had a variety of great items to choose from. Gina was great about wrapping them for me. Great customer service and easy process of buying online and picking up in store if you're local (as I am). I will definitely shop here again! read more

cute store , but CRAPPY customer service today 9/13/ 2011 at 11:40 am. Walked in, no acknowledgement- asked a question, girl could not even bother to lift her head to answer. So Zero customer service = zero purchasiing from me - there are cute stores everywhere and I will only shop where I feel welcome and comfortable read more

Always friendly service! I love that you can do in store pick up for online orders! Makes life so much easier when juggling two little kids! I love this store. They carry a line called Charlie Rocket for boys that is so cute, well-made and soft fabrics, it's spoiled me to buy other clothes. She also has really cute vintage rock onsies and t shirts. I've had really great customer service. Sorry about the person who didn't. All I can say is whoever was working that day wasn't any of the same people I've encountered. The owner is great and remembers me whenever I come in and it can be a long time between visits. She has all kinds of fun specials posted on her website. I have a boy, but the little girl stuff is really cute. If you need something special or a unique gift this is the place to go. It's an amazing shop. Thanks Sol Baby. Hermosa is lucky to have you! read more
