Came in today for a latte and was welcomed so kindly! The barista there with curly brown hair was super sweet, she recommended me a rose and vanilla latte with oatmilk and it was so good. She even made sure to ask me how I liked it and if I needed any modifications. It's great to know there are still caring and amazing baristas out there who know about coffee too! As for the rest of the cafe I love the vibe and scenery, such a cute cafe definitely is now one of my favorites! I also love the variety of sorbets and croissant sandwiches. There is something new to try every time you go. Soft cafe is the place to be at in Hawthorne, CA! read more

This establishment is extremely homely and the staff are excellent. They were very willing to answer our questions regarding their mixing techniques and glassware. The ice cream and matcha were delicious. We will be coming back for sure! read more

Soft Cafe - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Hawthorne, California

Came in a week ago and tried to get a drink and walked out after approximately 8 min of waiting with no service. It was about 3pm and they had a few customers but to be honest it wasn't anything that overwhelming! I've been to tons of cafe's that are more bustling than this and still attend to their customers. A simple "hey, I'll be right with you" would have gone a long way! Worse yet was that the bar was incredibly messy and the menu I grabbed had syrup all over it and looked beyond rough. Walked out disappointed not only in the lack of customer attention but also the cleaning standards. Won't be back, sad to say! read more

This is literally one of my favorite cafes. It's so close to home, love the environment, great customer service, and quality coffee. I like to go there for my study sessions and the burritos in my opinion are bomb asf. It's such a cute family run cafe. 10/10 would recommend for a morning coffee run or an afternoon ice cream treat. read more

Everything was so good! Service was amazing (she is very kind even when it's crazy busy). The music is great, nice place to sit and chill or get some work done read more

Great service and really nice workers! The coffee was good and I got my order pretty quick

Can't wait to go back! The owner, I think, was very accommodating. She made a lemonade for my granddaughter. Not on the menu. Nice cozy place. read more

The food is amazing. Great açaí bowls and Ukrainian treats. The owner has excellent customer service! She's super helpful and friendly. They make their ice cream in-house which is super cool. Highly recommend. The vibe of the place and interior is really relaxing too. read more

I went about a week ago and had high hopes because of the reviews but it was just okay. Kind of confused by the rave reviews. It was one woman (the owner I assume) and her mom working. She seemed to keep getting frustrated at her mom for making things wrong or not knowing how to make something and sternly speaking to her in another language. Definitely need another employee either way as it was quite slow to take orders and serve drinks/food. I was a little confused about what to order as the menu had a bunch of stuff crossed off and then hand written options all over the paper and it was hard to read. I ended up with a matcha softy and a some drink that was an iced americano with rose foam. The drinks were a bit small and uneventful for the price. Matcha was premade. The foam for the coffee drink was made first so my matcha foam also tasted like rose even though it wasn't supposed to I don't think. Overall the drinks were okay but definitely not living up to the way these other reviews are talking about them. I also saw the woman serve very expired espresso after setting it off to the side for at least five minutes. It seemed like she was going to toss it but then was overwhelmed so ended up using it after all. I feel bad for whoever got that drink. I appreciate the new local coffee shop in a location without many other options, but I get the feeling the owner has not managed a coffee shop before as it just felt disorganized and chaotic. I hope they figure it out and can be a great new coffee shop in the area. I won't be back anytime soon but may give it another shot in a few months to see if anything improves. read more

Luis provided such a great and warm customer service. Thank you for sharing good drinks and vibes, I will be coming back!

Awesome addition to Hawthorne as a much needed alternative to the genocide juice supplier Star%#ks ! Great cappuccino , welcoming crew that runs it , № long waits & clean bathroom ... positive vibe ! read more

I understand they are new and im trying to grant grace but if you walk-in and ask what kind of tea they have for the iced tea--they give you a brand name. They cannot tell you if its green tea, black tea, herbal... it was frustrating as a tea drinker to not have the basic question answered. The owner kept telling me, the brand name, like it matters when im asking, "what kind of tea is it?". I ordered a French Vanilla Lavender latte, whole milk, half sweet. It was extremely bitter, no sweetener at all and I didnt taste a hint of Lavender. The cashier was very helpful and was able to add more sweetener and the drink was much better, I could finally taste lavender. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in this place (as far as tea and knowledge is concerned). I hope to come back in the future with better options and more knowledge of the products. The ambiance was wonderful and it was very clean and cool inside. read more

Soft Cafe - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Hawthorne, California

first time here and was disappointed. I work at a cafe myself and i understand it gets busy in mornings but all due to respect getting inpatient with a customer insane. I work mornings shifts and I never treat customers bad or even roll eyes at them so when I notice the rolled eyes I was like okay...all I order was a strawberry matcha w/ oat milk and I didn't get oat milk, and was charged extra for the oat milk, but it appeared that regular dairy milk was used instead. This is concerning because some customers are allergic to dairy or cannot tolerate lactose and rely on milk substitutions for health reasons. If customers are paying for a milk alternative, it is important that the correct milk is used. Please be more careful with drink preparation to avoid potential health risks and ensure customers receive what they paid for bc I had an allergic reaction...I didn't end up going back bc I wasn't going to make an issue and the matcha was okay doesn't look high grade ceremonial matcha if you want to get a better matcha try cafe the scoop, or mai coffee. read more

My first time coming in, I was disappointed because they only had matcha available. I waited about 40 minutes. The second time I came in, I waited about 45 minutes for my drink due to only one staff member working. By the time I received my drink the rest of the staff members started working. I ordered the vanilla latte. The coffee it self has a bold and strong flavor, which I love. Overall this place has good drinks, you just may wait long depending on the day. I recommend ordering ahead unless you are dining in. The cafe it self, is decorated nicely and is supplied with books, seating area, games, and even a small table for children. The staff was truly sorry for the long waits, but I will definitely order ahead next time. read more

I have just found my new favorite cafe. It was so good this is my first and only yelp review ever. When I arrived one of the two sisters seemed a bit overwhelmed being that it was just her working while her sister was out getting supplies. I ordered a strawberry matcha with oat milk and a pastrami croissant sandwich and was informed they had run out of oat milk and croissants but her sister would be shortly returning with the supplies, I appreciated the transparency and didn't mind the wait as I was planning to get some homework and studying out of the way anyway. After about 5 minutes her sister had returned with the needed ingredients and they both immediately started with my order. The matcha came first and let me tell you, that was worth the review alone. They make the purée in-house with fresh strawberries and it is probably the best I've had in the Hawthorne/Gardena area maybe LA in general. A few minutes later came the sandwich and no exaggeration it's the best cafe sandwich I have EVER had. Avocado mash, cream cheese, soft pastrami, fresh greens and a crispy on the outside soft on the inside croissant. 9.5/10 sandwich. To top it off they make excellent use of the space provided. It doesn't feel cramped like many cafes do, the music could be a bit louder but the selection was fantastic, and the sisters were delightful. I will definitely be returning and bring any out of town friends here. Fantastic work ladies! read more

This is such a cute spot! I've been here twice with my daughter & I love that there's a little area for her to color. The staff has been so sweet & offered ice cream to my daughter. Their ice cream is amazing btw! My favorites are the mango & dragonfruit ice creams. I ordered a matcha & that was really good as well. They give you just the right amount of sweetness, which I love. This has definitely become one of my go to spots! read more

tried their cold brew with rose soft top once, amazing, went back a couple more times after that because the drink was good i'll give them that, and was met with americanos, it's a bit frustrating when you pay for a drink and they don't know what they're giving you, it's my fault for not saying anything, but i shouldn't have to specify the difference between an americano and a cold brew and on top of that i ask for 16oz and am met with the smallest size. Overall space is good if you want to study, but their drinks aren't consistent read more

Such a cozy and cute cafe!! I got the matcha with the matcha cream top -- it was really good, slightly on the sweeter side. I did notice the matcha itself had a more mild flavor and less froth than expected, so I'm guessing it might have been pre-whisked. Whisking it fresh can really bring out that rich, creamy taste and give it a nice texture, so that could be something to try. Totally understandable during a testing phase -- I'm excited to come back and see how the drinks evolve! read more

I am a fan of specialty coffee shops and was thrilled to discover this gem in the neighborhood. The place is clean, spacious, and cozy, with a very nice ambience. When we visited for the first time, the owner took her time to explain the menu to me. She also gave my husband and me a free sample of Ukrainian sweets. They are pet friendly as well. We returned with our dog, who received a treat and was very happy. The drinks tasted great--I had a matcha latte and a French lavender latte. This will be my go-to coffee spot. Highly recommended. read more

One of the reason I love coming to this place was the kind greets of the baristas taking the orders and really explaining the menu. But unfortunately today I didn't get the same attitude I always have receive. Today I place my ordered with a barista with curly blue hair and it seem like she didn't care at all when I had questions about the açaí bowl she sounded disappointed or upset. But this won't stop me from coming I love being able to support a local business!! read more

I'm happy to see Hawthorne adding another cafe to its lineup! This place is cute and seems to be gaining popularity as the first time I visited the line was out the door prompting me to come back today, where there was a pair studying, another couple hanging out and a few patrons in line. It's a nice ambiance. I got a strawberry matcha where the owner stated they puréed the strawberries in house, has your choice of milk and two shots of matcha. It's quite tasty, I would say the strawberry overpowers the matcha which isn't technically a bad thing. As this place gets its bearings in and hires more employees, I'd like to see them preparing ceremonial grade matcha as opposed to pouring from an already prepared matcha pitcher. Especially since they have three different matcha drinks under speciality drinks. Overall I'm happy to see this cafe in Hawthorne! Definitely consider visiting during non peak hours and enjoy your drink of choice at the cafe. read more

Very happy this place opened in Hawthorne as I no longer have to drive north of Aviation Blvd for a decent cup of coffee. I'm looking forward to returning to try out their pastries. The barista/cashier was also very friendly and attentive to the other customers. read more

Rating this 2 not bc of the coffee or ambiance . The worker was great, sat there a few hours to get some work done but when a homeless man came in , mind you he didn't smell he wasn't shouting or going crazy he simply came in asked the nice employee (man) "hey can I get some ice and water " to which The worker said "ofcourse ". He asked to use the bathroom and the worker said yes . To which I'm guessing is either the manager or owner (woman ) overheard that came running out and told the man to get out the bathroom and to leave . He respectfully said okay and told the employee is he could still get that water to which the manager/owner said NO" WATER AND ICE ONLY FOR CUSTOMERS GET OUT " look I understand you want to protect your establishment and your customers . I can even understand only letting customers use your restroom but to deny someone water ? Common . Oh and to make it worse the employee got chewed out for offering him water . I left with her still telling him that "when you see people like that " to tell them to get out ! read more
