Surprisingly one of the best latin/hispanic restaurants in Orlando. That's definitely saying something because I usually don't trust the food around the Disney area but this one has been a family favorite. Over the years they've changed it from a real restaurant feel to more of a order at the kiosk stands and then grab a seat somewhere (which I love as someone who doesn't love socializing). We always get the patacon and it's fantastic! The cocktails are also great and have a fantastic price (though I'm not much of a drinker!). I love this place's guava juice but that's mostly just because I love guava. We're Argentinian so we refuse to try any empanada that's over $1 (we make them great at home) + we have cheaper options for most of the foods so unfortunately we'll never end up trying most of the starter items here but all the entrees are great and fairly priced. read more

Visiting waltdisneyworld around the Holidays is fabulous. The parks are decorated and the holiday cheer is in the air. Before the parks, we stopped at Sofritos and chowed down on a ginormous delicious breakfast. We split the Omelet de Jamon y Queso (ham&cheese omelet, bacon, fried yuca, and Cuban Toast. The omelet was very fluffy and meaty. The Cuban Toast was crisp and seasoned well. Everything else on the plate did a great job complementing the dish and the flavor was We also had Desayuno Criollo (shredded beef, fried eggs, black beans, mini arepas). Seriously everything was delicious and it was so fun trying so many different items. Paired with an iced Cuban latte this was a delicious and filling start to the day! read more

DELICIOUS FOOD! This place was recommended by a friend and when I found myself in the area I had to go check it out. Everything we ate the first day for breakfast was so good that we ended coming back the next 2 days as well. The ability to order online ahead of arriving is a big plus, you can also place an order at the counter when you arrive. Coffee was super yumm as well! There are a few tables inside and it is a first come first serve place. read more

This was awesome you MUST try this. The service is awesome but its different when you come in so please let me explain so you aren't thrown off guard. You walk in and they hand you their menu and explain how everything works. Basically you look at the menu and order right there at the register. You can sit down while you decide, which I would suggest in case it gets busy. After you order they give you a number and you wait at your table, then they bring the food to you. We ordered a big selection to do a taste test and glad we did. We got the Argentina beef empanada, Columbia beef empanada, Cuba beef empanada, Venezuelan beef empanada, Cuban sandwich, Venezuelan beef & cheese Arepas, & plantations. Everything was amazing and very authentic from our travels. I can't wait to go back and have more. The Cuba and Venezuelan was our favorite but all was so good. TIP check in before ordering as Yelp has a $5 off $30 coupon we missed out on, but we will use it next time. read more

Clean place, great service... but food needs improvement. Waffle are frozen made, you can tell by the flavor, strawberry in the plate was rotten!! Toast, bread was old... coffee was good, still waiting for my splenda. A lot of reheat process involved. Heard good things, but not proven!! Kitchen needs a lot of TLC. The service in the restaurant was good. If they fix the kitchen, it will be packed! read more

Can i haz all the empanadas! Cuban, Colombian, Venezuelan, Argentinian... I want it all! Gf and I was in the area and was headed towards another Latin/Spanish food spot, when we drove by this location. Quickly opened up the yelp app, scanned through some food pics, and bam! Here we are! FAST review... Food- We ordered an array of empanadas. The Venezuelan was our favorite! Perfectly crisp slightly sweet/savory shell that complemented the seasoned shredded chicken. And whatever that green dipping sauce was... so good! I dipped my fried yucca and tostones on that too! I will definitely be ordering that EVERY time we go back! I also had the standard media noche (Cuban sandwich) and gf got the Churrasco (Argentine steak) plate. Steak was tender and delicious, Cuban sandwich was regular. We also ordered the Argentinean empanada with the powdered sugar... and it was just a little weird combo. Our server did warn us that we may not like it with the sugar, but I'm an adventurous eater. Their juices were fine and we'll have to go back for their spanish beers and wine selections. Ambience- Fast casual/bar type vibe. Menus were on clipboards, great font everywhere. Spanish mix of salsa and reggaeton was playing in the background. Feels like a trendy place you can salsa but without the actual dance floor. Service- We had a very attentive host who was interested in introducing us to many foods that we may/may not have tried before. He was friendly and you can tell he had a passion for the food there. He did warn us that one of the empanadas would take a little bit to cook, which is a nice gesture. Other places wouldn't even care to mention it and bring out the food late. Tip- Order all the empanadas and find your favorite! Try the Argentinean empanada without the powdered sugar. read more

CONSISTENTLY GOOD. This is probably the 5th time I've been here, and I don't live in Orlando. I live 3 hours away. If I am in this area, I know I can head to Sofrito's for some good freaking food. The skirt steak is always tender, well seasoned, and their sides are always delicious. I mean, it's hard to mess up maduros (sweet plantains) and boiled yucca, but...you COULD! And they never do. That is why sofrito will have my business forever and ever. And they serve such a decent portion too. It is well worth your visit and your money! read more

I've been wanting to come here for some time now, so I told my boyfriend today is the day! First impressions it's clean, the space is big enough where it doesn't feel too tight inside. We chose to sit outside, there's enough space between each table so you don't feel like you're talking over everyone else. I ordered a Bloody Mary it was just okay, my boyfriend ordered a passion fruit juice which was refreshing and not overly sweet. Now let's get down to the nitty gritty, the food! My boyfriend ordered a Colombian empanada not pictured here because we went in the moment it was brought to our table. It was nice and crispy on the outside and warm on the inside. BUT once we hit the middle of the empanada it was cold and I mean refrigerator cold. I'm sure these are kept frozen and are cooked to order, but it was cold. The flavor was definitely there though. I ordered a tripleta sandwich, it was juicy and had enough meat in it and it was huge! I ordered it based on pictures I had seen online and I thought I was on the smaller size, I was wrong lol this thing can feed two people easily. My boyfriend ordered the churrasco with white rice, red beans, yuca and salad. His meal was good, packed with tons of flavor but it was cold not even warm cold like my ass has been sitting here waiting for 20-25 minutes cold. The winner here was the mojo sauce it was so damn good, best one I've tried so far. My boyfriend poured it over his entire meal, that's how good it was! It's hard to give this place a bad review when the only complaint we had was the temperature of the food. I would come back here, it's fairly priced and the flavor is there for sure! The service was also pretty good. read more

I really like eating at this restaurant. The ingredients for all of the food seems extremely fresh and every dish has been very flavorful. Best of all for me, there's a large selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes offered. Of course for those meat eaters it can't get any better than this place. The alcoholic drinks are very good, but for some reason there's a lot of ice and a lot of glass and the drinks don't last. I really think they're not putting a lot of alcohol/cocktail in these glasses. But again, they do taste good! On the downside is the parking. Good luck! read more

This was such a great experience! From the food, to the ambience, to the service, we will most certainly be back over and over. I ordered the Cachito Ham and Cheese, Cuban Empanada with beef, the Venezuelan Empanada with shredded chicken and yellow rice. My boyfriend ordered the Roast Pork that came with a side salad and three sides. He chose tostones, black beans and fried yuca. The black beans and yellow rice were the only average thing about this place- not hot and lacking flavor. We added mojo and it was much better. The Cachito bread was incredible, and I LOVED the empanadas. The tostones were perfect! My boyfriend loved his meal and we agreed this was a win! read more

Food is pretty good except for the cuban sandwich which was not the best. So why the 2 stars ? They have this ridiculous point of sale system where the customer walks in and has to individually peruse the menu on a tablet order on said tablet. Then you pick a number for the table and thays how servers know where to drop off the order. They also ask you to tip up front which doesnt guarantee the best service.....they deliver whenever the food is ready, not exactly for the whole table. It's just in my opinion not a fluid system. They have the wait staff, just have them take the orders and deliver the food stop trying to reinvent the wheel !! You should see the staff bringing food out, looking to find the different numbers on the tables, is it outside inside back front, it's all unnecessary. Just be a restaurant. read more

And I must say the coffee was so good, it was even better than the Juan Valdez coffee that I make at home. Since I didn't visit the restaurant, I can't comment on the atmosphere. But I believe the service is excellent because they nicely packed all items and kept it organized. I definitely need to take my family to this restaurant. Since the one in Metrowest closed, this is the closest one to us. I am glad the food is still excellent and the coffee keeps you peppy. We were staying at a Holiday Inn near Disney Springs so we decided to come here for a late dinner. One of the best decisions made here. We did a late night walk through the shopping center and landed here around 9:50 pm. It was pretty late and we worried there would be no seats but we were seated promptly. The establishment was very ambient, cozy, and well furnished. I liked the warm, glowing atmosphere of the restaurant. The server was extremely polite and took our order quite soon. We were starving after a long day but the food came out in around 20ish minutes which wasn't too bad. The serving sizes were quite huge. We didn't expect this much food for two portions. For $34 per plate, the dishes were large and came with a large helping of sides. The fried chicken was extremely crispy and juicy. They originally wanted to serve the food quickly/more fresh so they served a chicken thigh to me after on a second plate. They also forgot my substitution of Mac n cheese for mash potatoes so I got a free helping of mash which was sweet. The pickled cucumber was light and fresh which tasted great with the heavier chicken. The potatoes were a little heavy and I wish came with gravy, but still delicious. I really loved the Mac n cheese and finished that up. The chicken steak was also delicious with the grits but a little too salty. Wish they added the grits to the side for me to dip as it became a little too much at times. It was better to eat it with a side of potatoes to balance the flavor. The broccolini was sautéed perfectly and delicious, could eat a whole plate of those alone. The biscuits weren't bad but tasted better eaten with the potatoes. The food was a little heavy but so so good. We had to take half of the food to our hotel and ate it the next day for dinner as it was way too much food for one meal. Even after microwaving it, the food was just as delicious and flavorful. We spent about $80 but had so much food leftover. An expensive dinner, but everything tasted amazing. Would definitely come back if I had the chance.

It is a family owned restaurant founded by New York natives who noticed a gap in Central Florida for high quality, authentic New York style diner food. The original location opened on Universal Boulevard in the Lake Cay area, near Universal Orlando and SeaWorld. The restaurant quickly became popular with both locals and vacationers looking for an alternative to the standard hotel breakfast buffet. Following the success of the Universal Boulevard location, the owners expanded to additional Central Florida locations, including Lake Buena Vista and Dr. Phillips. The Diner has gained attention for its creative twists on classic comfort food. One of its signature dishes is the Bennyffle a combination of Eggs Benedict served over a waffle. The menu also features specialty cereal pancakes, including Fruity Pebbles and Oreo Crunch, along with classics such as chicken and waffles. In July 2026, the Universal Boulevard location even became the center of a viral national news story after a family of seven including children reportedly walked out on a $298.47 breakfast bill. The story highlighted how hard family businesses work and how an incident like this can affect them. I recently met up with a group of friends at The Diner for brunch. The Diner can get crowded, and they do not take reservations. I am grateful that one of my friends arrived very early to wait for a table for our group. The diner offers a selection of coffee drinks as well as alcoholic beverages, making it a festive spot for brunch. Since I had a long day ahead, I stuck with coffee and ordered the signature chicken and waffles. The combination was delicious. The crispy, savory fried chicken was the perfect partner to the soft, buttery waffles, while the warm, sweet maple syrup contrasted to the salty chicken. It was a very large portion and I really enjoyed my meal. The service was excellent, and the staff were very accommodating when we needed several separate checks. I was a little disappointed because the menu said pick 3 sides and I chose all beef. Alfredo didn't mention to me that there would be an additional charge for the beef. As a result, I had to pay an additional $10 which was very pricey and didn't find out until I received my bill and saw the charge. I didn't make any complaints because the employees seem not to speak English well and it's hard to be a foreigner trying to adapt to the culture and the language. Cons- There is ALWAYS a weird perm smell when you go. It literally smells like someone is perming their hair, so not good. Another con is sometimes it takes long to get your food. And last but not least, I think their prices are not reasonable lately. Some of the prices do not match their menu, not sure when they raised their prices but I have never ever heard of a patacon costing almost $26 anywhere, and I frequent a lot of Venezuelan spots. Their name went from Q'Kenan restaurant to Q'Kenan Steakhouse so maybe now they just raised all the prices, I don't know. Their most expensive patacon on the menu is the one with Picańha and it says $17...yet I got charged 25.90. Regardless of how good something is, there shouldn't be a $9 difference from what is on the menu. That is absurd. On my last trip- $43 for an empanada, tequeńos and a patacon just doesn't sound right for Venezuelan food, and I come from living in Miami where restaurants are supposed to be more expensive. Add a tip and you're paying over $50 for street food. That's wild.

It is like the farmer but instead of apple butter it has gravy and it also has an egg. They also have some pretty good waffles, which is what I get for my kid when I take him here. Their tea and coffee selection is robust. The only downside is that as they have gotten bigger and they have lost some of their personal touches. They used to ask me funny questions and would use that to help find you to give you your order. They might ask who your favorite superhero was and call you that way. Sofrito Latin Café offers a delightful escape into the vibrant and rich world of Latin American flavors. Located in a cozy, inviting space, the restaurant captures the essence of Latin cuisine with a modern twist. The atmosphere is casual yet lively, with bright decor that instantly transports you to a warm, tropical destination. The menu is a celebration of Latin American staples, featuring a mix of classic and innovative dishes. The mofongo is a standout--fried plantains mashed to perfection and paired with savory meats or seafood, making for a comforting and flavorful dish. The arroz con pollo (rice with chicken) is another favorite, with tender, seasoned chicken and a perfectly cooked rice base that's rich in flavor. For appetizers, the tostones (crispy fried green plantains) served with a tangy garlic dipping sauce are addictive, and the empanadas are equally delicious, with a crispy exterior and savory fillings. The salsa bar offers a nice variety of dipping sauces that complement the bold flavors throughout the meal. One of Sofrito's highlights is its cocktail selection, with expertly crafted mojitos, margaritas, and their signature Sofrito Punch, all featuring fresh ingredients and a strong Latin flair. It's the perfect way to start the meal or end it with a sweet note. Service is warm and attentive, with staff offering helpful recommendations and a genuine enthusiasm for the food they serve. Prices are reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes, making it a great option for both casual outings and special occasions. Overall, Sofrito Latin Café is a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the bold, flavorful world of Latin cuisine. With a mix of delicious food, refreshing drinks, and a welcoming ambiance, it's easy to see why this place is a favorite for many. read more

Staff at Sofrito have asked me to write a review. Here it is: We was attracted by the name "Sofrito", especially because my two companions are actually Puerto Rican and they were craving for Puerto Rican food. First thing we asked was for the famous Mofongo, they said that they have it. We ordered a Shrimp mofongo and a Pork mofongo, myself I ordered Roast Pork. While we wait for it we got some empanadas that were delicious, and other appetizers really good. When we got the entrees there was the problem. The mofongo was cold and we doubt about it that it was made on premises. About my roast pork, I was not able to eat it. I try a couple of pieces and I left it in the plate almost untouched. I have never had such a hard rock pieces of pork with a microwave reheated test. Because I am honest i told the server right away. We ended up not eaten our entrees because my companions had similar issues. I was drinking beer and my companions coconut soda. Because the bad test of the food was in our mouth before we left, we ask for one coconut soda to wash it down. We paid our bill in full, even if we did not eat the food, and we left. Can you believe that they rushed out asking us to pay for the last can of soda? Obviously this people does not have any restaurant experience ! Any restaurant if you leave the food untouched will have some kind of compensation, some others will not even charge you for the food you did not eat !. But they didn't care ! they still want to get paid 1,50 for the soda. UNBELIEVABLE!!! read more

Lunch at Sofritos was nothing short of spectacular, just as it always is. From the moment we stepped in, the inviting atmosphere and the rich aromas of the kitchen set the tone for what would be a delightful culinary experience. We kicked off our meal with some refreshing bubbly that sparkled in our glasses, adding a celebratory touch to the occasion. The standout dish was undoubtedly the delightful croquetas. Each bite was a perfect blend of creamy, savory goodness, and they were complemented by a zesty dipping sauce that intensified the flavors. But the real highlight was the amazing arepa. Stuffed to perfection, it was a harmonious mix of textures and flavors that transported us straight to culinary bliss. The warmth of the arepa coupled with the fresh ingredients made it feel like a warm embrace on a plate. As we enjoyed our light lunch, we exchanged stories and laughter, feeling rejuvenated and energized for the rest of the day. There's something incredibly uplifting about a meal shared with good company, and nothing beats the vibrant charm of Sofritos to kickstart our afternoon. #Florida #Orlando #yelpelite #sofritoslatincafe read more

I went to Sofrito Latin Cafe for lunch today and had an incredible experience. This place knows how to make real Latin food that hits all the right spots - everything was fresh, flavorful, and made you feel like family. I tried the churrasco steak with yuca and maduros. The steak was perfectly grilled with a nice char on the outside but still juicy inside. It came with this amazing chimichurri sauce that had just the right amount of garlic and herbs. The yuca was creamy and buttery, and those sweet plantains were caramelized to perfection. Even though it was busy during lunch rush, the energy was positive and welcoming. What impressed me was the attention to detail. My coffee came in a proper cup and saucer, the bread was warm, and everything was seasoned perfectly. You can taste the difference when people take pride in their cooking. For $19, I got a huge meal that was restaurant quality but felt homemade. I'm already telling my friends about this place - it's exactly what Orlando needs more of. read more

We visited this place three years ago and had a fantastic experience, so we were excited to return. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing. When we ordered lunch to go, we encountered several issues during pickup, but we assumed it was just a one-time problem. We decided to give it another try and came in for dinner today. Sadly, things only got worse. Winni took our order incorrectly, was noticeably rude, and overcharged us. When we asked her to correct the mistake, she responded with an attitude rather than an apology. When the food finally arrived, it was extremely bland and lacked any flavor. To top it off, we ordered dessert, but it was never brought out--we had to specifically ask for it. Overall, this visit was nothing like our first and left us very disappointed. We do not recommend this place anymore. read more

For starters, don't expect a server, you order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Ordered a steak dish and the pice was small and dry after I wanted it cooked medium. The small piece I got was $15 for lunch. *Important - Do not take your significant other to this place! Gentleman at the counter kept pushing salsa dance lessons and after 3 times of my wife telling him no thank you, he asked if she was Puerto Rican and then followed that up with asking if her and I were together. There are many options for Latino food in Florida. Being a chef and one that cooks and eats this type of cuisine regularly, I can be critical at time. This was not bad at all. I enjoyed the outside cafe area, and the service was good. Prices were not bad for the area and the connivence of several hotels within walking distance. I'd try them again next time I'm in the vicinity. read more

I ordered Colombian empanadas only to find that it was all potato and no meat . This is the 3rd time I order empanadas from here and it's been the same so it's no mistake , they're cheap with the meat . Also NO ONE came to check on us and we couldn't ask for what we needed at our table . Horrible customer service . Too bad cause they started out well . I wont be visiting again read more

Both times, I had rotisserie chicken; 1/4 chicken cooked to tender perfection, red beans and seasoned rice, plus sweet, fried plantains. It is a very delicious and filling meal. I sampled my wife's chicken soup with chunks of chicken, corn, potatoes or yucca and green plantains. It was very good. Service was kind, attentive and remembered us from our first visit. Atmosphere was low key and pleasant. I like this location, in a less congested area, and closer to Hilton Grand Vacation's Parc Soleil, where we often stay on vacation.

The food came out at very different times -- there was about a 15-minute gap between the beans and the chicken, so our group couldn't really enjoy the meal together. We were also surprised to see automatic gratuity added for a party of only five, especially considering the slow service. Between the low food quality, poor timing, and service issues, the experience was disappointing. The Lomo Saltado was the one bright spot. Will not return.

The guacamole is seriously to die for, and the salsas were just as good. I had the mango-avocado ensalada, which was fresh, light, and somehow still really filling. And the carne asada and al pastor? Chef's kiss. So flavorful and cooked perfectly! Uriel was absolutely wonderful! He was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. The rest of the staff was just as welcoming, and the restaurant itself was impeccably clean. As someone visiting from Southern California, my Mexican food standards are pretty high, and Frontera Cocina definitely delivered. I would 100% come back the next time I'm in Florida. The overall ambiance was pleasant with colorful little bric-a-brac throughout. Our server was extremely friendly and professional. It was amazing and infused with papaya and melon. I would definitely recommend here.

When he asked that is, we mentioned Yelp. Cute bar atmosphere. Felt very comfy. I believe the owner served us. We ordered a lot. In order of what we had: blood sausage: phenomenal. great spice. Good texture. beef: I loved it but others may not. We got to choose doneness and I got medium well. Chewy but nice crust. Normally bbq doesn't ask so I was very happy. ribs: decent. not too much to say. Soft. Corn (side): crunchy corn with cheese was good, though patties were thicc. Little too much for me. ASK FOR THEIR SAUCES. THEY ARE FIRE. They had a spicy, a creamy, and a salsaish one. All 3 were so good. I loved it. especially the spicy one. Decent value for price. I would say I'd come again but I'm on vacation! Worth a trip for sure.

For lunch we ordered the ceviche. Thank goodness we shared it because it's massive! Sweet potatoes, fried calamari, and tostones all came with it. We barely finished it between the two of us. Our friends ordered the prime rib and the traditional dish of Cazuela de frijoles. The prime rib steak was pretty fatty. But they ate most of it. The traditional dish was also huge! She had a lot of leftovers to take home. While we were eating a man came in to preform on the stage. He played guitar and sang. It wasn't too loud, and we were right next to the stage. Our waiter was very nice. He was also making the drinks. I had a passion fruit juice. It was delicious but I think they use something processed, out of a plastic bottle that they add water to... I would probably go back. The prices are very reasonable and the food and service is very good.

It was conveniently located nearby and turned out to be a wonderful breakfast stop. The atmosphere was cozy, welcoming, and relaxing, which was exactly what we needed in the morning. The staff gave us such a warm welcome and were very patient while we took our time looking through the menu and deciding what to order. For drinks, we ordered the 3 Mocha, a cappuccino, and a matcha latte, and everything tasted great. The mocha in particular was excellent, it had such a rich, naturally delicious flavor that it honestly didn't need any additional sweetness. For breakfast, we ordered the Breakfast Club, Avocado & Egg Salad Sandwich, and Mushroom Avocado & Vegan Sausage Breakfast Burrito. Everything was delicious, and the portions were excellent and very satisfying. There was a great variety of flavors across the dishes, and everyone at the table found something they really enjoyed. Overall, Moma's Cafe was a great breakfast experience from start to finish. Between the cozy atmosphere, welcoming staff, delicious drinks, and generous portions, it's definitely a place we would happily return to the next time we're in the area. A breakfast spot worth repeating!

There were at least 8 parties that came and left because they didn't want to wait. I guess for a business that's a good problem to have. ‍ Giving three stars because the ambiance was nice, cashier seemed friendly, menu had a nice selection for brunch, speciality drinks/coffee. Next time I'm in town and try the food I can give additional two stars if the food is worth it.

The taste was good, but they are not the peruvian makis I have tried for years in Peru. This was something different, but still good. The tacu tacu with lomo saltado, though. It was really good.
