Deus mio! The roast chicken was so juicy, the arepa was crisp, the plantains were cooked to perfection (none of that NY mush). If you're sitting in the Sheraton Buena Vista and wondering if you should go to that Latin cafe next door... why are you still sitting?!?! read more

I loved the churrasco! Also had a really good coconut mojito and the appetizer was great (surillos). Everything was so good! read more

Went to Sofrito based on the earlier reviews. This was truly a pleasant experience for my entire family. The staff was super friendly and helpful, prices are reasonable, food was well-prepared and presented, and the menu had something for everyone. There are a number of negative reviews on yelp, but there will always be people who aren't happy. Go, without hesitation! read more

We tried this restaurant based on yelp reviews and were very pleased. We came in on a Sunday evening around 8pm and didn't have to wait long to place our order. The food was brought to our table in a little bit of a lengthy wait from the time we seated ourselves but it was totally worth it. The food was very flavorful and cooked perfectly. We will definitely revisit during our stay in Orlando. read more

What a find! We had a great day at Epcot for the Flower Festival and only walked a million miles. By dinner time we were ravenous and tired, looking for a restaurant near our hotel. We were so pleased to find Sofrito's nearby. Delicious pork, rice, beans, potatoes and salad followed by coconut flan from heaven. We *will* be back! read more

Omg the shredded beef melts in your mouth. The rice was so savory. Everything on the menu looks so good. Will definitely be back again. Felt like we were in our in-laws kitchen in Costa Rica or Columbia. read more

I'm so bummed wit some of this food. I'm Cuban so I guess my expectations r high. The black beans & the yellow rice were bland. Where's the onions, green peppers for the flavor? The tostones were hard as a rock. U need to boil them 1st before mashing & frying so they're soft. But I guess that's too much labor. The Cuban sandwich didn't have enough pickles. U should get a pickle in every bite right? read more

This restaurant have exceptional service, there food is authentic as they say it is. They have variety of main dishes from diverse nationalities, like Venezuelan, Colombian , Cuban and some other . Only one little issue the water needs to be serve by yourself but is not problem , a glass seal container by the middle of the tables. The seats and tables are really confortables, and decoration of the restaurant is also very nice. In general a really place to have lunch diner and breakfast every day. I added some pictures as well of the place for you guys to see. read more

Had the lunch special, Carne con papa. It was the most delicious meal I have ever had in Orlando! The meal feels very homie like what my own mom makes in her kitchen. Beautiful place and great music. Will be back once I'm back in Orlando read more

Found this restaurant on Yelp: 4.5 stars with over 1000 reviews! We had to go! Totally delicious! My wife had the snapper and I had the braised pork (braised 36 hours). Both were great. Excellent prices for all you get, and service is friendly and good. Plantains were sweet like candy and don't miss the churros! Can't wait to go back! read more

The food is delicious. Very fresh!! And not inundated in grease like many Latin restaurants. We had the roast pork main dish. The pork was soft and juicy. On point!!! The chicken soup was delicious and natural. The customer service was great! It won't break the bank. The prices are very favorable. Oh yeah and the arepas are delicious too!!! read more

Excellent Experience!! I was in Orlando for a conference and stayed at the Marriott Courtyard on Palm Parkway. I went to Sofrito for breakfast and it was GREAT!! Being a Panamanian from NY, I wanted a nice Latin meal. The empanada was tasty, the cafe con leche was smooth and the bacon/eggs hit the spot!! Try this location if you visit Orlando!! read more

Where to start.. The camarones al ajillo Gf plate was greasy and so bland is was sad because shrimp was prepared to perfection. The yellow rice was clumpy, greasy and also bland. The fried yuka. Greasy and bland. The empanadas. Omg! The only one dece t was argentinan one. The rest again greasy and hollow. However, The fried plaintains where delicious. House juice was a bit sweet but realy good we mixed guava with passion fruit. Delicious! I ordered the roast pork with beans and rice. The pork was perfect just like the way my mom makes it. The red beans very flavorful and seem like they have been cooking for hours. I found out this restaurant is about a year and a half old and it's incredibly spotless! There are some high end restaurants in Orlando that aren't this clean. I will definitely be back. Great price for the value. read more

Delicious food and great service. They were one of the only people open during the hurricanes here and were packed. The food was still delicious and people were working really hard. Thank you all for the amazing food and service when we had no power! read more

Food was absolutely amazing!!! Would definitely come back again :) my food (patacon) was so so juicy and the pork was perfect! We ordered several kinds of empanadas and the Colombian one is just *chef's kiss*. The Nutella empanada one was bit *too* Nutella, would recommend if you have a big sweet tooth lol. Portions are big! Especially for the price you pay. You definitely get what you pay for and more!! read more

This is, hands down, my favorite restaurant in Orlando. The staff members are always incredible and the food is delicious. I usually order the pernil or the pollo a la plancha. The arepas are good, too. There are times when you have to wait a bit for food, but it's worth it. read more

Great spot with fantastic Cuban food. Portions are generous and the menu is full of flavor. And as for the staff, they could not have been more pleasant and appreciative for my business. Highly recommend this spot for value and good food. Went again lat night and the food still stands up. Great option. read more

If you are anywhere near this restaurant in Orlando do yourself a favor and stop in and experience what I feel is one of the best Latin restaurants in the United States. It is a little deceiving walking up placing your order in sitting down and having the food brought to you at your table however the wait staff is super friendly and the restaurant is impeccably clean. And again the food is the best Latin food I have had in the United States!!!!! It has an eclectic menu of south American dishes from Venezuela Columbia Guatemala and Cuba. The flavoring and the seasonings are all perfect. This place does it RIGHT!! read more

Very good food. Food is a Latin fusion with all kinds of Latin fare. You have to order at the register and have a seat, food is brought over to you. We had a party of 12 and everyone loved their food. Will be back when I am in town. read more

Visiting Orlando on vacation and had dinner at Sofrito tonight. The food was delicious and very authentic. Empanadas were amazing! We shared 3 entrees. Pork was wonderful, skirt steak cooked perfectly, and the shrimp was great. Seasonings were spot on and we had absolutely no complaints about anything we ordered. We also had plantains, yucca (streamed and fried), red and black beans and yellow rice. Delicious sangria. And the coconut flan is a must!!! Wow! You can't beat the prices. Very reasonable for such large portions. The service was also excellent! Everyone was very friendly. Menu is also very accommodating for food allergies as items are listed as gluten-free or vegan. As my family is gluten-free and dairy free this made ordering off the menu very easy. Ok. So my only sort of negative was their ordering model. You order and pay for your entire meal when you first enter. Much like chipotle. It was a little off putting at first. Then once you are seated you're served like you are in a typical restaurant. (Not at all like Chipotle). Wait staff brings your food, filled up water several times, brought sangria. (People who ordered soft drinks or expect to concern themselves). However, if you want to order additional food items, wine/beer, or dessert you have to go back to the front of the restaurant, stand in line behind new restaurant guests and order and pay in full again. Also, tipping is a little confusing. If I was at a restaurant like chipotle I would not leave a tip. However the waitstaff was consistently taking care of us and I definitely felt obliged to tip. However, because I had already paid my bill in full I could not leave a tip on my credit card and wasn't sure of the percentage I should leave on the table. As this was so untraditional it just wasn't clear what I was supposed to do. I'm not sure what inspired them to try this particular model of dining style. In my opinion, they should consider traditional waitstaff and paying at the end of the meal. This would encourage patrons to order additional beer/wine, appetizers, desserts and coffee, etc. It would also elevate the venue to a more upscale feel. It would also ensure that waitstaff is properly compensated with tips from patrons who have had such a wonderful experience as we did. Honestly, this place is a true gem and should not be missed by those who enjoy authentic Latin American cuisine. I would encourage newcomers to provide feedback to management as we did this evening and offer a review with suggestions to improve the service model. Im sorry we're leaving in a few days to go back to NY. We would definitely make this restaurant a regular if we lived in the area. read more

Good food, great service, overall good place for lunch. My churrasco dish could have used a little more food in it, I though the salad that comes with it was very small. The staff was great and took time to explain the dishes and they all had a smile on their face. I will definitely be back when I'm in town. read more

Sofrito Latin Cafe - Latin American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

We stopped in here one morning to grab a quick bite to eat before heading to Disneyworld Parks. What a very interesting, unique, and really neat concept. This place offered a variety of food consistent with many Spanish countries food types and the portions are fairly large in size and fresh. If you're not sure of what the food is, then you can definitely look online to see what options they are and what they have in order to satisfy that craving. They offer breakfast and lunch concepts and there's a small bar that could use some TLC, but for the most part it was and still is an interesting concept. If you're looking for a quick grab and go, then this place is definitely not for you. This is more of a sit-down type with a friendly atmosphere, "take your time" location. The pricing is pretty decent running about 20 bucks for 2 people, which gets you 2 meals and 2 drinks. The food comes out as it is ready so you don't get everything served all at once rather you'll get them as it comes out. Conceptually, it is good in one regard but bad in another regard because you can finish a meal while the other person is still waiting to get their food. The restaurant is really interesting in how they position it to provide the food that we miss from our home countries, such as: Argentinian, Colombian, Venezuelan, and other types of Countries of Spanish foods. For example, they have the same dish but may different ways (like the empanada) which is very good because very hard to find those kinds of things around town in one place. When traveling through, I would definitely recommend you eat here since it is a unique concept of food but again only try it when you've got plenty of time to spare not when you're in a hurry. This is located right before the Disney Parks exit and there is plentiful parking. Stop on by and get it. As a last minute decision, I am not disappointed and will be back. read more

This place was yummy! I got the Cuban sandwich which was very flavorful. Would definitely go back next time we are in town.

Very tasty. The way you order you can try lots of different sides. We had the steak and pork. My kids loved the steak and the yucca. Very good prices to feed family of four for around $40. My wife liked the atmosphere. You're getting a solid meal without the frills. I hope they add provecha like they cook it in Argentina and that would be awesome. Can't speak to how authentic the food is but it was certainly delish. read more

Came here for lunch after seeing all the good reviews online, and my!! Was I absolutely DISAPPOINTED. It was not busy, only a few tables but the service was so slow. Servers seem clueless, we didn't even get our drinks until waiting for like 15 minutes! We even moved tables to be seen. Food is overpriced and way too much cheese. Oh and to top it off, there were fruit flys flying everywhere!! All around our food. Left here still hungry after losing my appetite. Food is mediocre. Service sucks, place is not clean! read more

Amazing food!!!! Very friendly and knowledgable staff. Price is fair. The atmosphere is casual but modern. Very pleased.

We ordered the papa rellenas, Cuban sandwich, and a classic pork and yellow rice meal. The papa rellenas and pink sauce it came with were delicious! Both the other meals were the blandest Cuban food I've ever tasted. Absolutely no seasoning whatsoever. read more

Great place for breakfast and brunch. The coffee was excellent and the food was of high quality and tasteful. One of the other things that was nice of the Resturant is their ambience. It is very clean and modern. Even though it may look high end it's very casual and kick back. Great to go solo to eat and work or great to go with your family and have a nice intimate breakfast like you would at home. The staff was very nice as well. Very helpful to assist in what each of the plates consisted off and to help with recommendations. I think you wouldn't regret going. Try it, I'm sure you'll like it. read more
