Sofrito Latín Café has been on list to try for awhile. I came here during Latino heritage month and enjoyed it so much I've been back twice. You order at kiosk and take a number. They also have a person to take your order if the kiosk isn't your thing. The staff smiles and seem friendly but really don't say much. They restaurant is clean. Located in a tourist area so I'm sure they get busy but I've never had to wait. Everything I've tried so far has been good. I love the tequenos, passion fruit juice, empanadas and the fried snapper. I could put the cilantro garlic sauce on everything. I'm looking forward to trying their coffee during my next trip. read more

01.21.2024 *TAKE OUT ORDER* Our good friend recommended trying this place. This was our first meal after we landed in Orlando. We got there at 8:30, and they were closing at 9:00 pm. So we made it just before closing. The little cafe is in a small strip mall. There are self-order monitors and a cashier on the left for ordering. You seat yourself after ordering and they bring the food out to you according to the table number. There's a bar but there are no TVs. So you're enjoying each other's company and the delicious food. The Argentinian spinach empanada had a pastry exterior versus the Cuban chicken empanada, which was a crispy exterior. The Argentinian beef empanada reminded me of Filipino empanadas with a thicker dough/pastry. The fried sweet plantains were the best! It was the side for hubby's Cubano. A good size and filled with a lot of meat. 01/23/2024 *TAKE OUT ORDER* Hubby finished his last meeting of the day at 8:30 pm so we sped on over again to pick up dinner for me, dessert for him and cocktail drinks to go! Churros were okay but the Piña Colada was AMAZING!! We were loving the "To Go" drinks from here. Definitely a place we'd come back to! Note: If you order take out stand by the bar or they won't know. read more

A nice change of pace for breakfast choices. Dishes with a Latin flair to them. Not a big fan of placing my food order when you first walk in. Once you sit down and they bring you your order, it's hard to find someone if you need something else. No one ever came by to see if we needed anything or if everything is ok. This place was just ok. I really wanted some cafe con leche as I prefer that over Starbucks or any other coffee place any day but the cafe con leche here was pretty ok. The milk was super creamy and frothy which I loved but the coffee had zero sugar normally sugar is added to sweeten the drink but this was pretty bitter even for someone who doesn't like my cafe too sweet. I grabbed sugar at the gas station after we left when we stopped for gas before going back home. I wasn't hungry for a huge meal so I just ordered a cuban toast to go with my cafe and it didn't come with butter either. So no sugar in the coffee and no butter on the toast. Be sure to ask. My husband who is always down to eat ordered a two eggs breakfast platter which came with yucca sticks, bacon and some toast. WithOUT butter. I could've passed on the yucca sticks as they were more starchy and super thick rather than crispy and light which would've been okay if it came with a little dip or something. Overall it did not hit the spot. Maybe our experience would've been better if we would've dined in as the inside had a super cute vibe but we were on our way back home after check out and just wanted to stop and grab something for the road. Prob would've been better off grabbing coffee and a snack with gas and saving $25! read more

Another new fav in Orlando. This place was popping, it was full of people! Luckily there was outdoor seating in the sun, and I enjoyed that a lot. It's super easy to order with their convenient self-service touch screen ordering, and they made it quickly too! I enjoyed the cuban sandwich and my boyfriend loved his, not sure of the name. The chicharron and plantains were just perfect, also. I'm convinced now that all their food must be amazing. My coffee was pretty milky and not too flavorful, but hey that's not what I went for! I'm excited to try here again, it was in a cute area and there was too many options! Definitely returning. read more

Fast casual dining with friendly staff and delicious food. You can order from the self service kiosks or from the counter. Food comes out pretty fast. Been here multiple times but this time got the Pollo Al Horno, the meat was moist inside, slightly crisp on the outside, and marinated just right. I'd also recommend the Roast Pork or Media Noche. Wow! This shop has done a 180! I stopped going to Sofritos in 2021 after a long string of poor experiences. The food has always been impeccable but the service declined greatly, to a point it would take 30+ min to receive your food and the staff was not friendly to say the least. After missing their food I decided to grin and bear it this weekend and was happily stunned by the change of service. It was quick, the staff up front was friendly and even approached me before I needed help. Even with a packed restaurant on a Saturday afternoon at lunch our food was delivered in about 5-10min. At one point who I assume was the manager came up and asked how everything was. I was so thrilled with the experience that this restaurant is back in my top go-tos! So looking forward to visiting again soon! read more

Back again! Yes, two days in a row! I thought it best to give in to this outstanding Venezuelan cheese empanada, snooze this craving. I love Latin food! First visit I had the vegetarian sandwich, with sautéed squash, mushrooms, red peppers, with a herb garlicky aioli smear on the bread. Not bad but I prefer the empanadas far better. My Awesome friend Nadia has been raving about the food here. Adding the quality is far superior than any Cuban or Latin place she's tried from New York to Texas and now Florida. I finally stopped in for lunch during our many travels to Orlando and again tonight for dinner. Amazing empanadas! Tonight i enjoyed well seasoned black beans and cheese empanadas. I had a difficult decision between the churros or Nutella empanada. But selected the Nutella empanada. Chocolate Satisfaction! read more

Last time I was here was November 2019 the pandemic stopped travel but I did state I would return. By far the most flavorful food I've had in all of Florida!! Beautiful restaurant, friendly staff, and owners are so sweet to check in with customers. We had the breakfast steak churrasco with chimichurri, sides of fried yucca, and a Cuban loaf with butter called tostada. I'm a plantain lover so I always get a side we also tried something new the Nutella empanada. I'm allergic to peanuts (mani) so I appreciate the staff being cautious with my food. Thank you!! - beef: churrasco meat very juicy and tender - yucca: perfectly fried - tostada: Cuban bread with butter crispy but moist - plantains: the best!! - empanada: not too sweet super crispy Please keep the food quality it's amazing!!! Ok this has to be my favorite restaurant in Orlando and I loved the food so much. Alfredo was my…read moreserver and he had the best recommendation and I loved it. The empanada came LOADED with shredded beef and this empanada didn't skimp out on quality. It tastes so good when you dip it with the green sauce and it was chef's kiss. I think this is the best empanada I ever had and when I tried other empanada, it doesn't even compare to this. I ordered another dish but I forgot the name and it's soo good. I was a little disappointed because the menu said pick 3 sides and I chose all beef. Alfredo didn't mention to me that there would be an additional charge for the beef. As a result, I had to pay an additional $10 which was very pricey and didn't find out until I received my bill and saw the charge. I didn't make any complaints because the employees seem not to speak English well and it's hard to be a foreigner trying to adapt to the culture and the language. But this is soo good and I can see why the reviews on yelp are all stellar.

I live close, so have come here quite a bit over the year…read more Pro- Just got renovated, so it looks pretty. The staff is nice, and the food is good. They also have lunch specials, which is nice. Cons- There is ALWAYS a weird perm smell when you go. It literally smells like someone is perming their hair, so not good. Another con is sometimes it takes long to get your food. And last but not least, I think their prices are not reasonable lately. Some of the prices do not match their menu, not sure when they raised their prices but I have never ever heard of a patacon costing almost $26 anywhere, and I frequent a lot of Venezuelan spots. Their name went from Q'Kenan restaurant to Q'Kenan Steakhouse so maybe now they just raised all the prices, I don't know. Their most expensive patacon on the menu is the one with Picańha and it says $17...yet I got charged 25.90. Regardless of how good something is, there shouldn't be a $9 difference from what is on the menu. That is absurd. On my last trip- $43 for an empanada, tequeńos and a patacon just doesn't sound right for Venezuelan food, and I come from living in Miami where restaurants are supposed to be more expensive. Add a tip and you're paying over $50 for street food. That's wild.

Disclaimer: this review is for the lunch buffet only…read more I went with my family to try the $18.49 all you can eat lunch buffet. This was my first time experiencing a buffet for hispanic food and for this price point in Orlando, this is an amazing value deal. The server regularly brought us out silverware, napkins, and refilled our water. The place is decorated very fun and plays latin music which was lovely Not only was there an unlimited assortment of lunch foods, but an entire bar of fresh toppings for tacos (or rice bowls) and made to order desserts which were included for free! Not everything on the buffet line was the best but given the amount of options, price, and how good the great items are this is still worth a five star rating. I unfortunately did not take pictures of the food before I began devouring everything in sight to the point of near-collapse, but I will do a quick rundown of the buffet highlights: The best meats were the fajita steak, chicken, and shrimp made fresh in cast iron skillets, as well as the chicken lengua which was super flavorful and tender. The mexican rice, beans, fajitas, plantains, and street corn were also excellent. Fresh quesadillas, chips, and corn tortillas on standby with homemade queso and salsas. The flan and mini churros were the best I've ever had. Super rich, decadent Carmel flan. Mini churros hot and crisp on the outside, filled with a gooey soft milk chocolate center. They were delicious. Items that were disappointing: the tamales, mini chicken flautas, and beef chimichangas were just okay, lacking the seasoning and flavor that other dishes had. The beef barbacoa was not as tender or flavorful as the shredded chicken surprisingly. The mixed seafood was itself a mixed bag with some shrimps / scallops overcooked to much while others were perfectly cooked. The chicken mole and beef tri tip were room temperature despite sitting on hot plates. The tri tip also varied widely in doneness throughout the slices and not super tender. The rice pudding was pretty standard, and the tres leches cake was weird as they crumbled the cake into pieces before soaking it.

Bahama Breeze

4.1(1.2k reviews)

Still a Favorite After 30 Years!…read more I've been a frequent diner at Bahama Breeze for the past 30 years, so it's safe to say I'm a fan! My most recent visit to the Vineland Ave. location near the outlets was for a date night, and overall, we had a really enjoyable experience. We started with several margaritas, and they were vibrant, flavorful, and a great way to kick off the evening. We also enjoyed the yuca sticks and coconut shrimp -- both were delicious. The one big miss of the night was the tostones with chicken. The fried plantains were burnt, there was very little chicken, and unfortunately, there was none of the jerk seasoning that really brings this dish together. That was disappointing, especially since the flavors are what make this appetizer stand out. That said, I'm chalking it up to an off night. One dish isn't going to change my opinion after three decades of enjoying Bahama Breeze. I still love the restaurant, the atmosphere, and the overall experience -- and I'll definitely be back soon! Hopefully the tostones are back to their usual standard on my next visit.

Bahama Breeze is a restaurant themed as if it's in the islands. The outdoor area features fans and…read moregarden lights, but unlike the islands, it has no ocean breeze as it's located just off 535 in Florida. Therefore, we opted for indoor seating and the delightful air conditioning in today's 97 degree heat. The food was very good. The Jamaican jerk chicken wings are seasoned well. This time, they were slightly dry instead of perfect like last time. The grilled chicken with cilantro-crema, mashed potatoes and corn remains my favorite dish on the menu. Ask for a side of the sauce too; it's that good. The cheeseburger and fries was standard and okay but unremarkable, which means it was perfect for my mom who is a picky eater and not adventurous. Pro-Tip: if you are headed somewhere with a refrigerator, order the full portion of the grilled chicken with cilantro-cream and take one breast and some mashed potatoes home for another meal. The full portion is only $3 more than the light version, but comes with a second piece of chicken breast. Otherwise, save the $3 because one breast is plenty filling. You could also consider sharing the full portion plate to save room (and money) for apps or dessert. We chose the flaming pineapple butter cake for dessert. It arrived piled high with pineapples and vanilla ice cream on the side. When the server lit the sauce then poured it, the flames danced. However, not all the alcohol burns off. The cake was saturated and tasted of alcohol where it was poured. Warning: Check your receipt. We were charged $2.99 for trivia games we did not play and $0.50 extra for cheese when the item ordered was a cheeseburger listed as coming with cheese on the menu for $18.99.

Sofrito Latin Café offers a delightful escape into the vibrant and rich world of Latin American flavors. Located in a cozy, inviting space, the restaurant captures the essence of Latin cuisine with a modern twist. The atmosphere is casual yet lively, with bright decor that instantly transports you to a warm, tropical destination. The menu is a celebration of Latin American staples, featuring a mix of classic and innovative dishes. The mofongo is a standout--fried plantains mashed to perfection and paired with savory meats or seafood, making for a comforting and flavorful dish. The arroz con pollo (rice with chicken) is another favorite, with tender, seasoned chicken and a perfectly cooked rice base that's rich in flavor. For appetizers, the tostones (crispy fried green plantains) served with a tangy garlic dipping sauce are addictive, and the empanadas are equally delicious, with a crispy exterior and savory fillings. The salsa bar offers a nice variety of dipping sauces that complement the bold flavors throughout the meal. One of Sofrito's highlights is its cocktail selection, with expertly crafted mojitos, margaritas, and their signature Sofrito Punch, all featuring fresh ingredients and a strong Latin flair. It's the perfect way to start the meal or end it with a sweet note. Service is warm and attentive, with staff offering helpful recommendations and a genuine enthusiasm for the food they serve. Prices are reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes, making it a great option for both casual outings and special occasions. Overall, Sofrito Latin Café is a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the bold, flavorful world of Latin cuisine. With a mix of delicious food, refreshing drinks, and a welcoming ambiance, it's easy to see why this place is a favorite for many. read more

Staff at Sofrito have asked me to write a review. Here it is: We was attracted by the name "Sofrito", especially because my two companions are actually Puerto Rican and they were craving for Puerto Rican food. First thing we asked was for the famous Mofongo, they said that they have it. We ordered a Shrimp mofongo and a Pork mofongo, myself I ordered Roast Pork. While we wait for it we got some empanadas that were delicious, and other appetizers really good. When we got the entrees there was the problem. The mofongo was cold and we doubt about it that it was made on premises. About my roast pork, I was not able to eat it. I try a couple of pieces and I left it in the plate almost untouched. I have never had such a hard rock pieces of pork with a microwave reheated test. Because I am honest i told the server right away. We ended up not eaten our entrees because my companions had similar issues. I was drinking beer and my companions coconut soda. Because the bad test of the food was in our mouth before we left, we ask for one coconut soda to wash it down. We paid our bill in full, even if we did not eat the food, and we left. Can you believe that they rushed out asking us to pay for the last can of soda? Obviously this people does not have any restaurant experience ! Any restaurant if you leave the food untouched will have some kind of compensation, some others will not even charge you for the food you did not eat !. But they didn't care ! they still want to get paid 1,50 for the soda. UNBELIEVABLE!!! read more

Lunch at Sofritos was nothing short of spectacular, just as it always is. From the moment we stepped in, the inviting atmosphere and the rich aromas of the kitchen set the tone for what would be a delightful culinary experience. We kicked off our meal with some refreshing bubbly that sparkled in our glasses, adding a celebratory touch to the occasion. The standout dish was undoubtedly the delightful croquetas. Each bite was a perfect blend of creamy, savory goodness, and they were complemented by a zesty dipping sauce that intensified the flavors. But the real highlight was the amazing arepa. Stuffed to perfection, it was a harmonious mix of textures and flavors that transported us straight to culinary bliss. The warmth of the arepa coupled with the fresh ingredients made it feel like a warm embrace on a plate. As we enjoyed our light lunch, we exchanged stories and laughter, feeling rejuvenated and energized for the rest of the day. There's something incredibly uplifting about a meal shared with good company, and nothing beats the vibrant charm of Sofritos to kickstart our afternoon. #Florida #Orlando #yelpelite #sofritoslatincafe read more

I went to Sofrito Latin Cafe for lunch today and had an incredible experience. This place knows how to make real Latin food that hits all the right spots - everything was fresh, flavorful, and made you feel like family. I tried the churrasco steak with yuca and maduros. The steak was perfectly grilled with a nice char on the outside but still juicy inside. It came with this amazing chimichurri sauce that had just the right amount of garlic and herbs. The yuca was creamy and buttery, and those sweet plantains were caramelized to perfection. Even though it was busy during lunch rush, the energy was positive and welcoming. What impressed me was the attention to detail. My coffee came in a proper cup and saucer, the bread was warm, and everything was seasoned perfectly. You can taste the difference when people take pride in their cooking. For $19, I got a huge meal that was restaurant quality but felt homemade. I'm already telling my friends about this place - it's exactly what Orlando needs more of. read more

We visited this place three years ago and had a fantastic experience, so we were excited to return. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing. When we ordered lunch to go, we encountered several issues during pickup, but we assumed it was just a one-time problem. We decided to give it another try and came in for dinner today. Sadly, things only got worse. Winni took our order incorrectly, was noticeably rude, and overcharged us. When we asked her to correct the mistake, she responded with an attitude rather than an apology. When the food finally arrived, it was extremely bland and lacked any flavor. To top it off, we ordered dessert, but it was never brought out--we had to specifically ask for it. Overall, this visit was nothing like our first and left us very disappointed. We do not recommend this place anymore. read more

The small piece I got was $15 for lunch. *Important - Do not take your significant other to this place! Both times, I had rotisserie chicken; 1/4 chicken cooked to tender perfection, red beans and seasoned rice, plus sweet, fried plantains. It is a very delicious and filling meal. I sampled my wife's chicken soup with chunks of chicken, corn, potatoes or yucca and green plantains. It was very good. Service was kind, attentive and remembered us from our first visit. Atmosphere was low key and pleasant. I like this location, in a less congested area, and closer to Hilton Grand Vacation's Parc Soleil, where we often stay on vacation.

The food came out at very different times -- there was about a 15-minute gap between the beans and the chicken, so our group couldn't really enjoy the meal together. We were also surprised to see automatic gratuity added for a party of only five, especially considering the slow service. Between the low food quality, poor timing, and service issues, the experience was disappointing. The Lomo Saltado was the one bright spot. Will not return.

The guacamole is seriously to die for, and the salsas were just as good. I had the mango-avocado ensalada, which was fresh, light, and somehow still really filling. And the carne asada and al pastor? Chef's kiss. So flavorful and cooked perfectly! Uriel was absolutely wonderful! He was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. The rest of the staff was just as welcoming, and the restaurant itself was impeccably clean. As someone visiting from Southern California, my Mexican food standards are pretty high, and Frontera Cocina definitely delivered. I would 100% come back the next time I'm in Florida. Highly recommend!

The overall ambiance was pleasant with colorful little bric-a-brac throughout. Our server was extremely friendly and professional. It was amazing and infused with papaya and melon. I would definitely recommend here.

It was conveniently located nearby and turned out to be a wonderful breakfast stop. The atmosphere was cozy, welcoming, and relaxing, which was exactly what we needed in the morning. The staff gave us such a warm welcome and were very patient while we took our time looking through the menu and deciding what to order. For drinks, we ordered the 3 Mocha, a cappuccino, and a matcha latte, and everything tasted great. The mocha in particular was excellent, it had such a rich, naturally delicious flavor that it honestly didn't need any additional sweetness. For breakfast, we ordered the Breakfast Club, Avocado & Egg Salad Sandwich, and Mushroom Avocado & Vegan Sausage Breakfast Burrito. Everything was delicious, and the portions were excellent and very satisfying. There was a great variety of flavors across the dishes, and everyone at the table found something they really enjoyed. Overall, Moma's Cafe was a great breakfast experience from start to finish. Between the cozy atmosphere, welcoming staff, delicious drinks, and generous portions, it's definitely a place we would happily return to the next time we're in the area. A breakfast spot worth repeating!

The restaurant looked like it was only at half capacity (seating). The cashier was polite/friendly. It's sad to see a restaurant turn away customers. There were at least 8 parties that came and left because they didn't want to wait. I guess for a business that's a good problem to have. ‍ Giving three stars because the ambiance was nice, cashier seemed friendly, menu had a nice selection for brunch, speciality drinks/coffee. Next time I'm in town and try the food I can give additional two stars if the food is worth it.

We got out table right away and we received chanchita chulpi immediately. It was really good because it tasted very fresh. The order took a bit longer than expected and I noticed that it happened to all the tables. I tried the makis acevichados. The taste was good, but they are not the peruvian makis I have tried for years in Peru. This was something different, but still good. The tacu tacu with lomo saltado, though. It was really good. I liked when it comes with a tick sauce instead of just water. The tacu tacu may have needed to get crispy a little bit, but the flavor was amazing. Finally, they only have option of glass of chicha morada. The taste was really good, I could feel the spices.
