We ordered at the kiosk when we walked in so we didn't have to wait in any line. The menu has a wide variety of options and we were really impressed. We got the empanada, mini papa rellenas, ham croquetas, a side of shredded beef (just like ropa vieja), and sides of rice and beans. This was more than enough food for two people just having lunch. I genuinely enjoyed everything except the mini papa rellenas. I'm not sure if it was the potato to meat ratio or the flavor of the meat itself, but I didn't like them and I wouldn't order those again. When you enter you order either at kiosks or with a staff members the door to lines is a little awkward but staff was really friendly helpful, explained everything and answered questions. I order ham croquettes, an arepa, passion fruit juice and macchiato. The ham croquettes I believe they make with a Boshell sauce for the filling and if so, they definitely didn't cook it long enough. The paste tasted heavily of flour overall though they were crispy and a good balance, but I wish it wasn't so overpowering tasting a flour. The arepa I got had shredded beef beans, cheese, and plantains unfortunately, it only had one chunk of plantain and then that was it. The beef was plentiful and really good flavor the beans oddly were stuck together. I'm not exactly sure why the biggest disappointment, though the arepa was sopping wet like the juice of the meat hadn't been drained off at all and so they really really fell apart and was just mush. By far, my favorite thing was the passionfruit juice. It was absolutely perfect. Sofrito was a pleasant surprise when we were looking for a Latin cuisine on our side of town (West side of Orlando/Winter Garden area). Admittedly we were looking to take some family to specifically Cuban but found Sofritos intriguing. Food was very good and nice array of options. Some of the dishes must be prepared slightly different as I got what I would have at a traditional Cuban restaurant, but it was listed under a different country (for example Ropa Vieja). The set up as you walk in, and can order from their touchscreen, or the register, then proceeded to sit down, and they bring you your meals shortly thereafter. Super friendly staff, easy ordering process. Oh, and by the way, $5 happy hour special on drinks, definitely makes it worth going a little bit earlier. This is always one of our top stops when we visit Orlando. The food is solid Latin fare, and the prices are great for larger families. On our most recent visit we had the arepa con queso de mano (corn cake stuffed with a huge slice of homemade salted cheese) that melts into the arepa perfectly after a few bites, mini cheese tequeños, Colombian empanadas (these are corn versus the thin flour dough ones), and fried yuca. On other visitors we've tried the Lomo Saltado arepa, tostones, churassco, and the Cuban sandwich. As you'll see from the menu there's a ton of great options from several different countries. Venezuelan beef empanada the crust was good. It was crispy and chewy. It came with a green dip that was flavorful. I had to ask for some habenero sauce to spice things up. . Habenero sauce they make this home made but it wasn't as spicy as I thought it be. . Cuban sandwich - big portion for under 10 bucks. The sandwich was really good and great for sharing. They also have a person to take your order if the kiosk isn't your thing. The staff smiles and seem friendly but really don't say much. They restaurant is clean. Located in a tourist area so I'm sure they get busy but I've never had to wait. Everything I've tried so far has been good. I love the tequenos, passion fruit juice, empanadas and the fried snapper. 01.21.2024 *TAKE OUT ORDER* Our good friend recommended trying this place. This was our first meal after we landed in Orlando. We got there at 8:30, and they were closing at 9:00 pm. So we made it just before closing. The little cafe is in a small strip mall. There are self-order monitors and a cashier on the left for ordering. You seat yourself after ordering and they bring the food out to you according to the table number. There's a bar but there are no TVs. So you're enjoying each other's company and the delicious food. The Argentinian spinach empanada had a pastry exterior versus the Cuban chicken empanada, which was a crispy exterior. The Argentinian beef empanada reminded me of Filipino empanadas with a thicker dough/pastry. The fried sweet plantains were the best! It was the side for hubby's Cubano. This place was just ok. I really wanted some cafe con leche as I prefer that over Starbucks or any other coffee place any day but the cafe con leche here was pretty ok. The milk was super creamy and frothy which I loved but the coffee had zero sugar normally sugar is added to sweeten the drink but this was pretty bitter even for someone who doesn't like my cafe too sweet. I grabbed sugar at the gas station after we left when we stopped for gas before going back home. I wasn't hungry for a huge meal so I just ordered a cuban toast to go with my cafe and it didn't come with butter either. So no sugar in the coffee and no butter on the toast. Be sure to ask. My husband who is always down to eat ordered a two eggs breakfast platter which came with yucca sticks, bacon and some toast. WithOUT butter. I could've passed on the yucca sticks as they were more starchy and super thick rather than crispy and light which would've been okay if it came with a little dip or something. Overall it did not hit the spot. Maybe our experience would've been better if we would've dined in as the inside had a super cute vibe but we were on our way back home after check out and just wanted to stop and grab something for the road.
