This place has always been consistent and we order for delivery and it still tastes good and well prepared. Their menu has a good variety.

Cuban was just ok. I've had way better at sketchy diners in Miami. The pork didn't have any flavor and was overstuffed with it.

Ohhh man. So we have been to Orlando a few times and across those visits we've been to Sofrito several times (twice in this last trip). I think we've probably tried everything on the menu but we particularly enjoyed all the empanadas, the lomo saltado arepa, and the picada (a good thing to try if you want to sample different things). Great service! read more

Cuban sandwich and Columbia Burger were both good, even tasty! The atmosphere is nice and very friendly.

The shrimp was cooked so well!!! The salad was fresh and the plantains were delicious. I highly recommend eating here for authentic Latin food. And I'm speaking as a Panamanian. Excellent! read more

Food was excellent and authentic. We didn't understand what to order off the menu and some of the explanation was lost in translation between our accented English and theirs but the staff are friendly and assist you to order and the food is excellent. Good portions and not something We will likely ever find again where we come from in South Africa so it was good to get food truly from Latin American in America - the real deal for sure . Thanks for a great dining experience we loved it The venue is lovely and clean too! read more

I was craving a Spanish sandwich with a cafe con leche, so we stumbled upon this. Hubs got a Cuban and I got the Media Noche and we split two Cuban empanadas and a Venezuelan cheese. All the empanadas were good, but nothing that I would go crazy for. Sandwiches were okay, but they were definitely missing something flavor wise. I wasn't the only one feeling this way because other parties were asking for salt and pepper. The flow here to order food though is stupid. You have to place your order on a computer, they will not come to you table side. It was an experience but not one that I need to have again. read more

Wow. Thank you for introducing us to a new world of Latin food. Fresh. Clean. Amazing flavors and everything was distinctly different and had it's own texture/palette register. Staff were incredibly helpful and were all vested in making sure our first trip had a balance. Finished with coconut and vanilla flan and not one: 2 Churros bathed in Nutella. *** GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS ARE MANY SO THIS WAS PERFECT FOR OUR DAUGHTER WHO LOVED IT. read more

Was in the area and looked them up yelp. Based on reviews we tried it out. It was also recommended by hotel staff. Wasn't disappointed in the food. Some of the wait serve staff were new and with the language barrier server was more like 3 stars. Prices are decent for tourist area and food seemed all fresh. A variety to choose from for all tastes and diets. read more

Sofrito Latin Cafe - Flank steak was amazing. - Latin American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

Food was great! Love that they have a variety of good & drink options. Service was great! Will come again, while I'm here on vacation.

Delicious food food form many Latin cuisines. We ate there 3 times during our week long visit. They're pretty busy and we definitely found it easiest to order in-person. They're Lomo Saltado was excellent. read more

Food and atmosphere is awesome! I really like how they have a variety of a few South American flavors here. Must try the Cuban chicken empanada. That was amazing! The Argentinian empanada is okay. The texture of the bread is crunchy and the filling is okay. We also had the chim steak! That was really good! The sauce was amazing with the steak. The roasted pork is really soft and tender with a burst of flavor. I really liked that as well. read more

On June 10th 2016, the Sofrito community celebrated their one year anniversary. Sofrito Latin Cafe is a Latin restaurant opened by Maria and Carlos. They offer a communal dining experience and serves dishes from all over Latin America. Their goal is to make this restaurant a community space as they desire guests to come, relax and feel that they are at home. This is just what we did as everyone was very welcoming and joyful; our waiter was the best and Maria, herself, walked around to greet all of her guests to ensure we all had a wonderful time. Along with tasty foods, Sofrito offers natural juices (orange, guava, passion fruit, mango, and sour-sop) and Latin canned sodas as well as water and milk. We tried the guava and passion fruit juices. Both were great; the passion fruit is a tart juice and guava is sweeter, but it is not overpoweringly sweet. In the back, we have the fried corn-flour Colombian Empanada filled with beef, potatoes, and spices. In the front, there is a Cheese Mini Tequeño and two Venezuelan Empanadas. The Cheese Mini Tequeños are baked pastry dough surrounding cheese; they are chewy, savory, and delicious. The Venezuelan Empanada are slightly fried and filled with shredded chicken or beef. Both the Colombian Empanada and Venezuelan Empanadas are nice to try, but we prefer the Venezuelan as the sweet corn-flour added a great touch to the empanada along with the moist, sweet, and tender meat. The Cachapa is a traditional Venezuelan sweet corn pancake filled with Queso de Mano (Artisan Handmade white soft cheese) and topped with cream. (Add shredded beef or roasted pork for an extra $3). This is one of my favorites because of all the cheese. The cheese has a similar texture and taste to mozzarella. The Patacon Venezuelan sandwich consists of shredded beef or pork, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and a homemade cilantro-garlic sauce kept together by two fried green plantains. The fried green plantains have a good texture and holds the content in well. The shredded beef has delicious flavors, but I wish it was more tender. Cuban Sandwiches are known by many and can be found at a number of places in Florida. Sofrito makes their Cuban sandwiches with ham, house-made roasted pork, Swiss cheese, house-made pickles, and mustard in Cuban bread before being pressed. This specific one did not make my list of favorite Cuban sandwiches. The bread is a bit tough and dry for each bite. Also, the contents were a bit too salty for my preferences. The Nutella Empanada is a fried pastry stuffed with Nutella and dusted with powdered sugar. It smells even better than it looks and it looks beautiful. I am sure it tastes just as great! Unfortunately, we did not try it due to allergies. The Coconut Flan is an egg custard with subtle hints of coconut. This has to be my favorite item on the menu (out of the items we tried) because desserts are the best and this was just heavenly with the texture at the consistency I like my flan to be at. Would I go back for more of this Coconut Flan? Absolutely! I am drooling just thinking about it now. read more

This place is *really* solid and I can't believe it's been just down the street from me for years and I finally tried it! First of all, the atmosphere is great. It feels open, modern and hip. You *want* to hang out here and have a bite to eat or even just a drink. It's "fast casual" where you order at the counter and items will be brought to you. Service is very welcoming and helpful. The food is pretty spot on. We tried all the empanadas they offer (and there are quite a few from all over Latin America) and they all had spot on flavor. Some were from a warmer (normal for empanadas ) and could have been a touch hotter but the ones from the back were amazing with great sauces to pair when appropriate. We also tried a Venezuelan beef dish which was flavorful and perfect, sweet plantains paired perfectly well. The papa rellena were the only miss - totally flavorless and not warm enough. Please also consider adding brewed ice tea. No tea drinkers like that crappy fountain gold peak stuff. Prices are great and plenty of parking at the building. This place is going to be on a regular rotation for me for sure. read more

There were a lot of great reviews so a colleague and I decided to try this place out. For the most part, the meal was delicious.. Especially the yellow rice and black beans. Plantains were great too! My colleague decided to go light for dinner and ordered the vegetarian entree and I ordered the skirt steak. Her veggies were of a way smaller portion than the sides and my meat was chewy but still very good. The bad thing...we both got sick! No bueno and no going back. :( read more

This place is FANTaSTIC!! Hands down! I decided to try this restaurant based on the glowing Yelp reviews and I am SO glad I did! The service was incredible! A member of the staff met us at the door to explain the menu. You place your order and pay at the front and they bring your food out to you. Prices are very reasonable. I had a cheese empanada with a delicious mayo based sauce which was out of this world amazing! I also had the sweet plantains which were incredible! I tried coconut flan (best flan I've ever ever had) and a Nutella empanada for dessert (also amazing) I can't recommend this restaurant enough! Don't think twice..just go!!! read more

Sofrito Latin Cafe - Cheese empanada and sweet plantains - Latin American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

Overall rating is solid 4 stars. Parking can be tight as the lot for the strip mall is small. You'll get 'shewed' off if you park in front of the convenience store next to them, so don't park there or you'll get towed. As you enter, you'll see some menu's hanging on pegs at the front door. You grab them, go sit down, choose you order, walk up to the bar, and order. They hand you number for you table and bring the food out as its ready. I got the pork dinner plate. The pork was on the verge of being a little too salty. My wife got the Kale salad, son got the cuban sandwich, and daughter got the dark chicken. We both got black beans, plantains, and yuca. The mojo sauce they use is excellent. The atmosphere can get a little loud, but its supposed to be that way, its a cuban party place. All in all we ordered a ton of food, empanadas, guava pastries, and dinners. Our total bill came to around $55 with tip. When it comes to feeding a family in Orlando Sofrito serves quality food. We would go here again easily. read more

Had delivered to our hotel. 1st the made my Uber driver go twice to the restaurant because they said they forgot half the order for her to come to us and still have more than half of it not delivered. I do not blame the driver. I blame the restaurant because they said that they didn't want to give the rest of the order. It was 2 bottles of water and 2 coffees. Really you couldn't give me that. Smh. Very upset. read more

Sofrito Latin Cafe - Roasted Pork with Congris, yuca frita (fried yucca), sweet plantain. - Latin American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

I was in the Orlando-Kissimmee area for vacation with family last week and wanted to introduce them to Latin food. My dad's more on the stubborn side when it comes to trying new things so we compromised and I chose this cafe since it has items on the menu that also suits his taste buds in case he ends up not liking what I get for him. Being from NYC, I'm used to dining in mom-and-pop places or restaurant-bars when it comes to Latin food so this was somewhat new to me as well. The cashier spoke very limited English but this wasn't an issue for me since I can speak native Spanish - I was just surprised because this place gives off Latin American fusion vibes. (Funny moment: when we walked in, the cashier looked at my dad first (who is American but of Portuguese descent) and started speaking Spanish to him; he then looked at me all confused and I then looked at her and proceeded to finish conversation in Spanish - she seems shocked to meet a Spanish-speaking Asian). But to get to the point, the food was good. My favorite was the Cuban empanada. My very Asian mother also loved the empanadas. We ate in their patio area and it was wonderful. read more

Great food, their chicken soup is the best. Will definitely return when back in town. Recommend coming during off peak hours as can get crowded during breakfast and dinner given ongoing covid concerns. Strong recommendation. Ensure consistent and thorough cleaning of not just tables but also chairs to help in these times. read more

The best latin american restaurant in Orlando. We had the Venezuelan tequeños, cachapa and pabellon and it was delicious. Also, we ordered Boiled cassava or yuca with onion and cilantro and the chicken soup, aaaaand to finish we had a Tres Leches. We just felt like we were visiting our grandma, for real, it was amazing. The service and the food presentation was incredible. Loreana, Avril, Alejandro, Camila, Camilo and Karelis were super attentive and always with a smile helping us with our request. They made an special plate for us since we were with a 8 month baby. I would love to live in Orlando just to visit Sofrito once a week read more

Thank you Yelp for helping me find this jewel. I'll be returning on my next visit to Orlando. The decor is super industrial, yet casual. It's great. Menus hanging by rope on a rod. Order at the counter and they bring it to you. Food: the best flank steak I've ever had. So juicy and flavorful. The plantains were perfectly cooked and crispy on the outside. My fella had the Cuban sandwich - it was absolutely Delish - yes. I stole a bite of my kid's food. Don't judge. You've done it. My hubs had the roasted pork and boiled yuca. The pork was seasoned perfectly and extremely moist. We shared the guava and cheese pastry (I have to eat that anytime it's on any menu). It was more savory than pastries I've had before and was amazing. For dessert, we shared the Nutella empanadas and I had a cafe con leche. Just as you would imagine ... superb. Do yourself a favor and go!! read more

Great and fresh food! The most authentic Latin cuisine that I've had in Florida so far! Must go

After an exhauting day at the theme park, we were looking for a good place to eat dinner and we found this jewel Excelent, excelent food! Homemade latin fusion taste, very affordable prices, quality food and friendly staff. I had the pork plate, it comes with salad and three sides just for $8.99, my daughter had tequeños (Venezuelan cheese sticks) they were really good also. Definitively I will come back here again and again on my next trip to Orlando. Only one bad thing we are leaving tomorrow and I couldn't try any more items on the menu, one table by my side ordered the cuban sandwich and it looked pretty good to me. read more

Absolute gem! We came here twice during our recent trip to Disney World and had amazing experience. From the guy who took our order at the counter, to multiple staff members coming by our table checking on us, and to the ones who said "thank you" and "goodbye" when we were leaving were very kind and attentive. And we haven't even started on the food! We had cuban beef empanada, pepita & apple salad, pabellon criollo, pollo a la plancha, pollo a la brasa, churros, and mango juice (don't forget the sides: get the yellow rice, fried plantains, and fried cassava!). Everything tasted deliciously flavorful! We'd definitely go back when we're in the area. PS: There's a writing on their entry door that says "When you're here, you're family"--we totally felt at home at Sofrito. read more

It's our favorite food in Orlando. We happened upon it last year randomly and even tho we were 30 mins away this time we made the trek. Everything is delicious. My only gripe is I arrived 10 mins past when they said the order would be ready and still had to wait 20 mins more. On top of a 30 min drive back it was a bummer. Should have asked for a free dessert or something. Food was worth the wait. Definitely going back. Had arepas, empanadas, camarones. read more

Came here due to the high reviews. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, music, decor and vibe. Our food was very good except for the tostones. They did not taste fresh. Seemed as if they were fried a while ago. Unfortunately no one followed up with us on how our meal was. I guess this is a shortcoming on not having a designated waiter. Please train staff to follow up after the food is delivered. Otherwise very happy and would return. We went Saturday night 12/28/2019. Also love that you have funky Buddha Floridian on tap!!! read more

What a delicious Latin fusion place to eat. What a way to represent!! I really enjoyed my dinner, the service was great the atmosphere is nice and clean. Ok, but I'm a stickler for wanting to be able to cut my steak on an actual plate with real utensils. The only down fall (for me) to this place is the plastic plates and utensils. Which I understand, if you can't finish all they do is bring out a plastic lid that fits on the plastic plate and your good to go. I'm sure there's a lot of to go orders as well given its location to all the hotels. Just not my favorite way to eat a steak at the restaurant. Other than that, prepare for your tummy and tastebuds to be happy. read more
