So good! Was surprised how cute and cool this place was and the food was great! Price was really good too. There are not a lot of Latin American options where we live (mostly just Mexican) so it was fun to try arepas for the first time. Also the pork was outstanding and we really enjoyed our lunch here while vacationing. Highly recommend it! read more

We are visiting Disney and wanted to grab breakfast the day after a long day in the park and this was amazing!!!! The Cuban coffee was to die for!!! We ordered a mixture of everything! I was in Orlando for about 2 weeks for work and naturally, I tried to find food that was more local and not "chainy." I don't know if Sofrito is a chain, but it. is. good! Between my two visits to Sofrito, I tried the Cuban empanada and the Venezuelan empanada, then I tried the croquettes, the fried plantains, Cuban sandwich, red beans, and mini papas rellenas. Wow. Just...wow! Everything was amazing. I actually came back during my two week stint just so I could get another Cuban sandwich. Next time I'm in Orlando, I'll definitely be back here! read more

Best food that I have had during my week in Orlando. Very friendly staff. Large portion sizes. Definitely priced right! The plantain and yucca are the bestI have ever had. They are pet friendly and have very quick service! Pork, empanadas, chicken, and yellow rice were all amazing!! Extremely happy we found this place! Will be visiting again on our next trip! Great tasting. Try the different empanadas and smoothies. Don't forget to look up and see all the basket weaved light shades.

If you are looking to taste a bit of all culture food. This is the place to order from. You can taste Puerto Rican food, Venezuelan food, and other culture food. Happy a restaurant finally mixes things up a bit. read more

This place just wasn't for me. Ordered cachapa w beef and I couldn't eat it, it was soooo soggy!! The whole thing was a mess and the cheese inside was toooo chewy. I think I really hated this dish. Lol. We got some chicken plate and that was decent, chicken a bit dry. Wow... your fries are good! Salad/dressing was good. Tequenos... it was ok. Nothing spectacular. I wasn't a fan of the sauce. Had better types of cilantro/garlic mixes. Skirt steak hubby said it was decent as well. Churros were good but with how much they dump nutella and caramel sauce alllllll over it after they have already rolled it in a ton of sugar and cinnamon - it was overkill. Too sweet. Maybe light drizzle the sauce with it on the side or easy on the sugar cinnamon. But everyone is DIFFERENT, so give it a try. Sorry, forgot to take some pics. read more

Food was disgusting, and the customer service was horrible. Ordered food for delivery and it was cold, didn't receive salad dressing. Big disappointment! read more

I ordered takeout here at the front and they forgot my order for 15 minutes until I asked about it. Then they gave me the wrong drink (the cashier took down camomile instead of green tea) and was rude about it. The food was overpriced for what it was. $17 for mediocre lomo saltado. If I had known the service was going to be this bad I wouldn't have tipped on takeout read more

This is a place the entire family can enjoy. I was able to easily find something on the menu to enjoy even with my restrictive vegan diet. All the food came out quickly and was well seasoned and delicious. The establishment was very clean and. The atmosphere was very nice. The only issue we had was ordering the food. When we first walked into the restaurant we were not greeted or told where to sit. Come to find out through our own observations we had to order at the front register first. The menus are placed in a little bucket near the register. We found what we wanted and told the cashier. However, the cashier didn't speak English well which made the ordering process a little more difficult. All in all we got our food and it was delicious. The place was nice and the service was decent. I will definitely be back!! read more

The portions at this place were generous and the ingredients were fresh. The shrimp with garlic sauce was a great choice. For sides we chose the yucca, tostones, and white rice -- all 3 were delicious. The salad comes with the main entree. Be sure to ask for a side of mojo sauce as well as the spicy green sauce that usually comes with the steak. We went for a mid-afternoon meal a few hours before dinner so we were able to get away with splitting the one portion between 2 people. Pretty awesome for 20 dollars including tip. I would return. read more

I don't know how this place has such high reviews. We ate here because we were at a conference at a near by hotel and the hotel food was god awful. Well the trend in this area continues. Must be all of the tourists. The service was friendly enough. More like tolerable. The food was not good. Honestly. The black beans were very bland. The arepa was more like a mushy corn meal patty then a proper arepa. The meat in the arepa was tough and not cooked properly. We didn't finish anything we ordered. I will never come back to eat here. read more

Absolutely delicious! Full of flavor and so fresh! My new favorite restaurant in the Orlando area! I ordered a garlic grilled chicken breast with rice, black beans and sweet plantains and Yummmmm! So much food that I wish I could have taken it home because wasting it was so hard (but traveling with no fridge). Employees were friendly and super helpful when it came to ordering as I was confused by the menu. Didn't wait long at all after ordering and our food was already brought out. read more

It was our 1st time - Food was delish & the staff were helpful with the food selection. I ordered the pork shoulder (it looks like pork belly) & it was HUGE! Our family of 4 could've eaten it in which we did :) We'll definitely return when we go back to Orlando. read more

It said sofrito and I thought it was Puerto Rican... I should have left once I found out. The food wasn't good to me. I had the churrasco with rice and beans. It was ok. The churrasco was hard. The chimichurri sauce was a joke. Something good was the flan and the service was nice. I'll not go back. read more

One of my favorite parts of visiting Florida is finding great Latin food and Cuban Coffee. Sofrito delivers even more. I can't tell you how good everything has been. Had the Columbia Burger. Disappointed. The 1/2 patty was dry and overcooked. I would recommend the Cuba Sandwich instead.

My daughter and I shared this was the best ever! We stated with Venezuelan Empanadas came with excellent garlic dipping sauce! Then the main course we shared the main dish with strand steak had the bomb chimichurri sauce!!! read more

Sofrito Latin Cafe - The Churrasco, with the shrimp. Seriously wonderful, add extra side Chimichurri sauce!!! And get the Venezuelan empanada - Latin American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

I figured I would try this place based on so many reviews and since everyone was talking about the churrasco steak I would give it a shot. First off, you have to place your order prior to sitting so I didn't like that concept so much since I felt rushed to order and didn't really give the menu a chance to jump at me. I ordered the chicken empanadas, not bad but no sauce came with it which I didn't like. Next, I order the papa relleno, which is a stuffed potato ball with meat, also served without any sauce and it tasted dry. I ordered the pernil Cuban sandwich and also was dry. I was hoping the churrasco steak would be it but it was way too salty! The steak was cooked perfect and the yucca fries that came with it were good but the chimmichurri sauce was so salty that I couldn't stop drinking water all night long and I can handle salt believe me I'm not that person that says please don't add salt lol. I did enjoy dessert. Try the tres leches! read more

I came to Sofrito years ago and remembered enjoying dining here, eating good Cuban food and being close to Disney and all hotels nearby. I decided to come back and was surprised to see so much had changed. Instead of being served at the table, now you order at the counter and the food is brought to you later. The restaurant had a huge makeover and looks amazing now. Awesome decoration and bar. The restaurant looks neat and clean. The outside patio looks like it can host fun parties at night. The staff is super nice and helpful. The menu is beautiful and easy to read. Food is priced fairly. My family ordered a bunch of the main entrees- the quarter chicken and the pork with various sides. My only complaint was that the food wasn't that good. The pork was missing seasoning to the true Cuban way pork is made. The beans (red and black) didn't have good flavor and seemed like they were made in a crock pot. The tostones And plantains were stale and not fresh. The chicken was missing salt. So coming from a Cuban, who remembered the food here being authentic and flavorful, their Cuban dishes are not very good anymore, unfortunately. I will say the presentation was beautiful on the plate. But the staff seems to be from many different places, the menu has Colombian, Peruvian, Brazilian, and Puerto Rican dishes. I would encourage visitors to try other dishes from here as they might be better! read more

Very affordable, authentic, and delicious. This was a happy find amidst the touristy spots in the Disney neighborhood. Don't be in a hurry when you eat here. The food and coffees are made with care and, well, it's Florida. My wife raved about the Cuban sandwich and the cafe con leche. We both had breakfast items and cafes con leches for $18 with generous tip. read more

Great little place for some wonderful latin food. Atmosphere: Its got the modern concrete vibe, but its basically a fast casual joint where you order at the counter and they give you a number for when the food comes out. The only gripe I would have is that there isn't enough seating (its a gripe because they have the space for more tables they just don't have the tables). Service: There isn't much to the waitstaff since you order at the counter, but the staff is very attentive. We are slow eaters and nearly every member of the staff at some point came by to ask if they could wrap up our meals. Food: The food was good, I can't say that any given item was the best there is, but everything was consistently good. I especially like the arepas and the small plates are great for getting a small taste of something like the croquettes. read more

Food was ok. Service could be better. No one was overfly friendly and they purposely looked down when they walked past you.

I ordered takeout online which was great. The food was delicious. I ordered fried yuca with the garlic cilantro mojo , a Cuban sandwich, empanadas different origins one from Columbia and Venezuela, the bone in chicken soup was perfect and roast pork. Definitely going back next time in the area. read more

The family and I decided to stop in for a bite on our way home as we could not figure out what to eat, we decided to try a piece of home in central FL. First impressions, the place was very clean and organized and the staff was very attentive and welcoming which is a huge plus for me when it comes to Latin cuisine. Being of a hispanic background having that familial touch is a key point to what can possibly be some great latin grub. Onto the eats, I sampled the arepa with shredded chicken and Gouda cheese which was pretty good but the chicken perhaps could have used a little seasoning or could have been marinated a little longer but overall it was ok. The ham croquetas were awesome! Very crispy and the ham filling was just there reminded me of abuelas fresh croquetas as a kid. The fried Yuca was excell, ent and cooked just right which for me is a rare find as someyimes the yuca can be fried on the outside and cold ij the middle or stringy. For the main course I had the grilled chicken sandwich with cheese which was cooked just right but again the chicken was just missing a little flavor but the texture and overall taste with the lettuce tomato and ketchup it held its own. My folks had the picadillo(Ground Beef) with white rice, black beans and maduros (Sweet plantains) which was nice at first sight and flavorful but could have used a touch more seasoning overall still a flavorful1 and filling dish. My father had the masitas de puerco(pork chunks) with fresh onions along with boiled yuca and Arroz con gandules(rice with pigeon peas and pork) I personally am not a fan of the rice and pigeon peas so no judgement their but the pork was nice and crispy but a little dry which just required the help of some cilantro garlic which set it off. The wife tried the steak arepa with tomato's,onions and steak which was pretty good with some chimichurri sauce. Overall it was a bellyful experience and would return if the mood struck for some reminders of home. Check them out! You might just need a to go container as portions are plentiful here read more

Amazing food and convenient to our hotel. Would order again in a heartbeat! The fried plantains were a fabulous dessert.

So many great options at Sofrito! We started off sharing some Cuban beef empanadas. The beef filling was a little lackluster, but the fried dough was tasty on its own. Our party's order consisted of the Tripleta sandwich with plantains; Pabellon Criollo with white rice, black beans, and plantains; Churrasco with yellow rice, red beans, and plantains. Everything tasted freshly made and full of flavor. The sobado bread for the Tripleta was just as good as the perfectly cooked meats that filled it. The shredded beef was delicious and expertly seasoned. Even the black beans, which are usually just filler on your plate, were scrumptious. The steak's chimichurri sauce was just a tad salt for me but dipping it in a little ketchup -- an insult to Argentina, I know -- helped cut that. My only real critique is that the red beans were flavorless. Other than that and the chairs being uncomfortable for anyone with hips, thighs, and/or a butt, most everything we ordered was wonderfully made and beautifully plated. I can't wait to try their Cuban sandwich next! read more

We ordered café con leche, omelets, quesitos, and sandwiches and they were all delicious. Service was quick and staff was very friendly.

Felt a little rushed when I walked right in and had to place my order with cashier. I picked a dinner for two that I saw on the menu screen. The food was great the restaurant was pretty. The staff was very nice. My husband ordered an order of papás reyenas and said they were not the best. I did not try them but did notice that they are bite size. I'm used to seeing them much bigger in Chicago. read more

It was two weeks ago but thought I should comment. I had a large group conference in Orlando, we were looking for some authentic Latin food that could support a group from 12 to 36 people. The first night we were in Orlando we went there with 12 people and loved the place. The food was delicious. The staff was great and we liked it so much that we came back the next night with 36 people which they handled very well. The great part about this restaurant is the food is great and you can individually order, which makes it easy when dealing with a large group. Their seating outdoors was great. Highly recommend this place. read more

This place is worth the trip. Just a little north of Disney Springs. I forgot pictures this time. But it was really good!

My fiancée and I came here on our first day in Orlando and it was so good we had to come back before leaving! The restaurant is spacious, nicely kept and maintained, the staff are very friendly and attentive, the self-service counter and seating is great and the prices are affordable. Now for THE FOOD!!! It's honestly so delicious!! They have various dishes from different Latin American countries. We tried a few things off the menu and were very impressed with how flavorful each item was. If you come to Orlando, you HAVE to come here! It's a must!!! You will not be disappointed! Oh and they have mimosas/Bellinis/wine/beers too! Really yummy flavors read more

We were in Orlando 7 days. We ate at Sofritos 6 times! I have seriously considered getting on a plane just to come back and eat there again

If I had to sum it up in one word, amazing! Everything I want in a restaurant. A warm greeting by friendly and knowledgeable staff who are able to recommend and advise about food from the various regions. A quiet atmosphere in a beautiful setting with excellent food. We had the Venezuelan empanada with cheese and another with chicken. I wouldn't normally order a cheese empanada but I have to say I loved it! They serve it with a lemon garlic sauce that by itself is very tart and strongly garlicky but when adding a small amount to the food...dare I say it??? Amazing! We also had the arepa pabellon which is a do-not-miss. It's a unique twist on the traditional Cuban arepa with which I am familiar and hits it out of the proverbial ballpark! Shredded beef, black beans, maduros, and cojita cheese in between an arepa like a sandwich. Yum! The restaurant itself is exceptionally clean and the food service Is a charmingly rustic in small metal platters lined with parchment paper. Free refills on Coca-Cola fountain drinks. Fresh, cold water is brought to the table without even asking. The urban coffee café decor makes the restaurant completely relaxing with upbeat Latin music played at just the right volume to contribute to the fun, relaxing environment. I highly recommend and, if you do go, enjoy! read more

The food here is excellent! We've been a few times now and are never disappointed with how flavorful our dishes come out! Perk for us, this place is extremely close to home! I'd recommend Sofrito to anyone, in the area or not, especially tourists who don't necessarily want theme park food and/or prices! Trying to think of a con, but I can't at the moment! Go here and you won't regret it! My patacon today has got to be the best thing on the menu, just because it's that good, but just to be safe, I'm going to keep going back to try everything! Have to make sure, right!? read more

My first time trying Latina food was very good. I really enjoyed the experience and ambience here. The staff here were very good in terms of heeding to customer needs. The food was just out of this world. I tried Venezuela empanada and the meat stuffed was just yummy. This place has set my hopes up on latina food. I also enjoyed their cuban coffee. One thing they missed out was they didn't give me a silverware. I had to ask them which was weird. The whole place was clean and they also have outdoor seating that's pretty neat. read more
