I don't even know where to start, one of the best experiences eating out in a while. Im in Chico with my sister for a college tour and saw this place online. I had to check it out because it looked so good and has such amazing reviews. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we were treated with such kindness. The lady who seated us (Im like 99% sure she's the owner but I didn't catch her name) was so kind and she was super helpful when my sister was trying to figure out what beer to get. She was so lovely and I really enjoyed chatting with her. She also gave us candies and chocolate on our way out and I saw that she gave an Uber eats driver some candy too. Don't even get me started on the food, it was so delicious. Everything tasted like it was made with care and I'm so happy that my sister and I didn't finish it all so that we can eat it tomorrow. Everything was cooked so perfectly and the lamb in the biriyani is so tender and flavorful. I also want to add that the place is so nicely decorated, I love that its super colorful. This whole place has obviously been somewhere that has had a lot of time and love put into it and I wish I lived closer so I could go here all the time. Oh BTW! Theres no place for tips but luckily we had cash on us. I don't know if she accepts tips but we tipped her anyway since she deserves it. So bring cash for the tip! read more

We stopped in here at 9:30 pm on Saturday night and were greeted by the owner and sister who made us feel like family. We ordered several appetizers and a mango Lassie. Our food was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is interesting and colorful, and you can tell the owner worked very hard to make it feel inviting. My wife and I finally had a dinner at this wonderful cute downtown friendly restaurant. The butter chicken and tikamasala was to die for! The waitress (the owners sister) was so kind and friendly. They gave us some pickles that were not on the menu and were so thankful to us. This restaurant was gross. I don't know if there's no AC or if it was down but it was pretty hot inside. The food wasn't good, you would think that it would look like the pictures they had on the menu but it came out looking totally different. Food was greasy and the Nan bread was a disappointment . This place is amazing! My partner and I went there today for the first time and it was a wonderful experience. We ordered their samosas which had a nice crispy exterior with a flavorful potato filling, and it's paired with a creamy mint yogurt sauce to dip in. For our main courses we ordered the butter chicken, mixed vegetables and butter chicken, and all of them excelled in flavor. The mixed vegetables were my bite of the night. And the owner, who is also the chef, is such a sweet and welcoming person. She came over to our table and shared her story of cooking. You could feel her love for what she does and can sense that her ultimate goal is to provide all of her customers an unforgettable dining experience. I recently stopped at Sofi'z on a whim with my wife as we were passing through Chico, and we were very happily surprised by the whole experience! We were greeted and served by Sofi herself and her passion for her restaurant and it's food was clear. My wife and I shared the Qurma Curry (goat meat) and the Chicken Seekh Kebab along with an order of buttered Paratha and Pakistani Achar pickles. All the food was delicious, and the goat curry really stood out as the highlight. The ambiance was great, the interior was clean and beautifully decorated, and the music was calming. We are from Chicago and went to redwood forest . whenever we are away from home , we enjoy other cuisines and specially love Thai Food as it is close to our taste buds. This was the first time in years that I was actually craving for a home cooked meal which is obviously not possible when you are on vacation. Anyhow we were driving through Chico and I randomly searched for Pakistani cuisine and it gave me an option which was 10 minutes drive from our hotel. Chicago has many halal Pakistani restaurants and we were so done eating g out as they are really very oily plus spicy and I don't find it healthy. We still took a chance here and visited this place with no high hopes. it was a weekend night and the place was full of people but the host cleaned a table for two of us . After taking order she did mention it would be 20-25 minute wait but since we were in no rush and tired we sat there patiently as we were already enjoying the ambience . The entire time while we were waiting for the food I was in awe to see our wonderful host how she was going to g from one table to the other table taking care of customers in such a professional yet homely manner. i did not feel at once that we were in a formal dining. too bad we live in Chicago as I would have to fly to go enjoy her hospitality but my husband and I keep telling people we meet here about this place. The food was one of the best Pakistani food I ever had in 10-12 years in any restaurant. No execration at all. We thoroughly enjoyed our every minute of it. Sofi is an Amazing host, serves great food , the ambiance of her restaurant is top notch. I can't even imagine how she handles everything with smile as it's a pretty tiring job but she is doing g phenomenal. This place is amazing! The food is phenomenal! We had actually gone to Goji's first, but the owner was just so rude. He dismissed us at first and continued working on his personal dish as we stood there for several minutes. Then someone calls in an order, and he just picks up the phone and hangs up without saying anything to the customer. So this disregard for customers made us leave. Good thing we did, we would not have found this hidden gem. Super friendly, welcoming staff. The local has vibrant, Pakistani colors highlighting their culture. And a great asset to Chico's local international culinary delights. The food was so delicious; to the extent that we over-ordered, and over-ate! The samosas were the best we've had. She brought us another appetizer to try on the house and I don't know the name of it, but it was very interesting and delicious. We had meatball curry and it was incredible. We also had goat curry, which was very tasty. We probably should've ordered something with more of a different sauce because it was similar to the meatball curry. Next time I will try to tikka masala. I'm so happy I found this place. This is so much more than just a spot to get food. My husband and I were there for at least an hour, relaxing with my chai and enjoying the delicious food. So many spices and flavors in the Tika masala, and some of the best somosa I've ever had. Not only is the food flavorful and in large portions, but the prices were so good we felt that leaving a 15 dollar tip was the least we could do (we are not flippant tippers, usually). The owner came and chatted at our table and the rest of the staff were all welcoming. I'm so glad we have this addition to the Chico food options. read more

There are not words to describe how amazing this place is. We ordered 2 sambas, butter chicken, and the lamb chops and garlic nan. The sambas were perfect. Fried to perfection and tasted so good. You know they come fresh from the frier because they are hotter than lava. The butter chicken was so good, it's the familiar flavor that I expect but richer. Great for dipping my nan into. The lamb chops. OMFG!! I have never had better lamb chops in life. Not even a little stringy or gamey. The service was amazing. Everyone was so attentive and listening to what we said. My husband likes food spicy, I do not. So he was brought mint sauce. It is made with Jalapeño. Too spicy for me, but my husband loved it. And the ambiance was so nice. Soft music playing in the back ground. They have decorated for Valentine's Day but it is not obnoxious. It is so tastefully done.
