It's a small spot with an outdoor patio for seating. It was a nonstop flow of people so I ordered the Reuben and turtle crepes. One sweet and one savory. The turtle has nuts in it which was delicious and just enough chocolate to make it gooey but not too much where it falls out. The Reuben has some cheese in it and you're able to add sauerkraut for an additional $1. The savory crepe would have gone from okay to great with either the option of a sauce, more butter, or adding the sauerkraut to get more liquid. Otherwise it ended up being a bit dry. This has been our favorite spot to eat on our visit here in Annapolis! Their crepes are delicious and their options almost endless! I built my own (sausage, cheddar, avocado, and roasted red peppers), while my husband got the huevos rancheros and then we got a chocolate peanut butter to split (which the young lady was happy to cut and wrap separately, quite possibly avoiding marital discord). They have a nice selection of coffee and tea options. Our only disappointment was the lack of seating (there is none inside, and only one table outside), since it was literally freezing outside and we had walked a mile to get there. Delicious! I got the Crepe Florentine and hubby got The Godfather. We liked The Godfather much better and would definitely recommend it. Both were really soft, cheesy, warm, and yummy with fresh ingredients. The wait was really long but it was worth it in the end. My favorite grab-and-go spot for a warm treat or small meal! I've never had a Sofi's crepe that wasn't delicious, regardless of whether or not you order sweet or savory. My personal favorite is the Royale (homemade butterscotch) with bananas, however even their Plain Jane options (usually sugar and lemon juice, brown sugar, etc.) are a lovely and hearty sweet. Their savory crepes are also exceptional. Favorites include the Kevin Bacon (turkey, bacon, avocado, cheese, and tomatoes with Thousand Island) and the Mozz (mozzarella, basil, tomatoes, and olive oil), among others. Their staff is consistently friendly and courteous to both newcomers or familiar faces. Midshipmen from the nearby Naval Academy frequent this spot, so expect to see people in uniform. In total, it's safely assumed that anyone holding the iconic silver wrapping of Sofi's crepes is a happy and satisfied customer. In fact, I think I might go get one now! Well done, Sofi's. read more

This place is fantastic; it's right across from the Harbor Master in downtown Annapolis. All the crepes are made to order, and the menu has a lot of variety. Some of the sweet crepes aren't too sweet-- we had them for breakfast (Bananarama for me, Apple Crisp for my friend). Plus, you can build your own crepes for breakfast, (and lunch/dinner I believe) so there is a lot of flexibility. At this point, there is no indoor seating. I don't know if there are plans to rectify this, but if not, it won't be very feasible in the winter. We sat on the dock, so it didn't matter to us. Though a chain, this is a great place and deserves a visit. I know that if I lived in Annapolis, I would go there often. read more

The creperies I've frequented usually make a stack of crepes, keep them in a warmer, then toss them on the griddle when you order. Not Sofi's. Sofi's pours the batter out, peels bananas, slices tomatoes, and lays on cheese right in front of you. The result? A little foil-wrapped package of heaven that just begs to jump into your mouth. I got The Mozz (tomatoes, basil, mozzarella cheese, olive oil) and I had a little mouthgasm with every bite. Sofi's doesn't list all its drinks on the chalkboard, so be sure to ask about the other beverages. Their apple cider had a kick of spice, was sweet but not too sweet, and it kept me warm as I strolled around the waterfront in 30 degree weather. read more

I've gone past Sofi's many times and always thought I'd like to stop in, so today I finally did, and really could kick myself for waiting so long! The banana royale crepe (bananas with butterscotch) just melts in your mouth, and although the flavor is very rich, it's not so heavy that you need a nap when you finish it. They don't have any indoor seating, just a few tables outside. And it did take a little while to get our order (about 10 minutes), but it was a beautiful day, and we didn't mind waiting outside for them to serve it to us through the window. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because a) no indoor seating (not so bad on pretty days, but if it's cold, I wouldn't want to sit outside) and b) I'd like to see something that uses a cream cheese type filling or more fruity fillings. But for what they DO have, I have no complaints. I think I'm going to have to go back and try one of their meat or veggie crepes! read more

It's a cute little shop on the waterfront serving up great portable savory and sweet crepes. Grab 1 or 2 (if you're like me and have to get 1 savory and 1 sweet) for a brunch stroll on the waterfront and enjoy the beautiful view. They make the crepes right in front of you, so it can take a bit of time before your order is ready. If the weather is nice, expect a long line and some wait time. You can call ahead to order your crepes though. The savory crepes had plenty of filling in them and were quite filling for a meal. I tried the BATS (bacon, avocado, tomato, and sour cream) crepe and the Banana Butterscotch sweet crepe. You can always add additional ingredients to your crepe for $1; So, I made my BATS into a BEATS (plus an egg). There aren't any tables inside, but there are a few scattered outside, but there aren't many chairs. If the weather is nice, there are benches along the waterfront to eat your yummy crepes. read more

Delightful crepe place right next to the gate of the Naval Academy and the city dock. The Nutella crepes brought me back to the streets of Paris, and their savory selections are large enough to be meals alone. I haven't been there for breakfast but notice that they serve Cafe Pronto, which is super top-notch coffee (winner of the 2011 brewer's cup-good). They are actually open after the fireworks on the 4th of July too. Just what the doctor ordered. read more

I was intrigued that this place was just around the corner from the B&B that I was staying in. When you walk in, there's a big board of all their crepes along with a couple of coolers for drinks. There appears to be standing room next to the wall that has a ledge for eating, but I wouldn't think that would be very enjoyable, so I took my order back to my room. As for the crepes, they have a great variety of sweet and savory ones. I ordered the huevos rancheros one and the classic banana and nutella variety. Both were decently good but they lacked the crispiness that I have found in other crepe places. The banana and nutella one was a touch on the heavy side as I couldn't finish it all. I have been meaning to try Sofi's for quite some time now. This morning, after an early doctor's appointment in Annapolis, I decided to swing by the City Dock. I had a book, some cash, (although they take plastic, as well,) and a brilliant, sunny sky. I parked at a meter outside of Armadillo's for $2 and walked to Sofi's, right by the Naval Academy. As a vegetarian, it was nice to see choices that I did not have to ask for modifications. My inaugural crepe was the veggie, with chickpeas, spring onions, cilantro, and a salsa sauce. It was ready in just a few minutes. This was absolutely delicious! It was also nice to be able to sit outside with a book, watching the tourists pass by with their colonial guides. There are a lot of fillings to choose from to satisfy a sweet or savory craving. I am thinking of something fruity or something involving Nutella for the next trip. I found my lunch..and possibly permanent dessert location! Priced right, and just outside the visitor gate of the Academy, Sofi's offers both savory and sweet crepes, with a helpful and friendly staff. Today, I tried the Florentine crepe, with Gruyere cheese, fresh spinach, sunflower seeds, and to my utter dismay CANNED MUSHROOMS. WHAT??!! That was a major turnoff for me, and my main suggestion to them to ix-nay the canned fungi. It was total opposite from the lovely freshness of the rest of the crepe and just didn't make sense. Overall, a great experience, sitting outside at one of the little street-side bistro tables enjoying a well-made crepe. Next, the NUTELLA crepe is on my list! When we were through, we wrapped up and went back to the office. Later that night, I got a message from Sofi's from Adrianne to let me know that I left my purse on the back of a chair and she had it safe and sound. What a great person! After going on a boat ride and eating insomnia cookies, my friend and I ended up craving even more sweets. We decided to order the smores crepe which came out fresh and hot. I thought the crepes were pretty standard. Fillings were put in properly and the batter was not overly sweet. The sweet ones might be ideal for sharing. Overall, I would definitely come back to this place but wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

My sister and I went here for breakfast crepes before going to get our nails done. I got a veggie one with chickpeas, spinach, and other tasty spices, and a coffee. My sister got one with peanut butter and chocolate. The coffee was horrible. It tasted burnt, and I could not finish it. The crepe was delicious, and thankfully got rid of the coffee taste in my mouth. My sister's was also very good but too sweet for my liking, especially for breakfast. I will say one thing I noticed is that neither of the people making the crepes changed their gloves when they went to make mine. Cross-contamination is a big thing I look for, especially as someone who doesn't eat meat. If you're vegan or have any food allergies, you may want to avoid going or specifically ask them to put on new gloves. Otherwise, they will be grabbing your veggies with the same gloves they used to grab the meats/cheese. There is also a small step to enter, so it's not accessible. read more
