I loved the spacious, relaxed, great smelling, coffee roasting, relaxed very LGBTQIA inclusive atmosphere! I just regret we had already eaten and were just popping in for a quick coffee perk to go. We will definitely be back. If I'm gonna be brokenhearted that the space no longer houses my favorite little indoor farmers market, then this is the type of new tenant that makes me a little less sad & bitter about it! The service was friendly and really fast, we loved that it was busy and they had plenty of employees to take care of customers. Unfortunately they didn't have a dark roast drip but the medium roast we got was good. Also their selection of tchotchkes, postcards and local souvenir/memorabilia was a real standout... for two people who typically don't buy that sort of thing , other selections were clever, fun/ny, and attractive . Both of us determined next time we're back in town The Bakist will definitely be the place to pick up local/Chesapeake Bay souvenirs (as well as coffee and baked goods!)

Super cute little bakery! I couldn't decide what I wanted so I enjoyed a nice lemon square, delish lemon cookie, chocolate croissant, and lemon muffin! All were amaze. My coffee was good, but my friend got a rose tea that was so good that I went back and ordered myself one!

Turkeychini sandwich. You get to choose what bread! Pesto was tasty and just enough!

The service was fantastic. The team was super friendly and helpful in answering questions. The food was quick to come out, fresh, warm and ready to eat. Such a cute gem!

I stopped in today, mid afternoon. It's SO hard to choose from the array of sweet treats, but the coconut macaroons caught my eye. Delicious! Just the right amount of crispy coconut and chewy cookie, which is an art form that can be hard to achieve. They have a great porch out front for sitting & some "hanging out" space inside for enjoying your coffee.

The bake goods here are amazing! Some of these best pastries & cookies I have ever had. The lattes are very good & the coffee is good too. The vibe here is very laid back artistic style. They also have items you can purchase there like tote bags & books etc... I think the next thing would for them to display local artists works for sale. It is on the pricey side but the quality is excellent. It's a great place for family & friends & dates & hanging with your dog outside.

Delicious pasties, hot coffee and the retail space had the cutest gifts and gadgets! Easy street parking and walking distance to the pier.

This is my first time in town and let me say it is a very friendly, clean and respectful community. I woke up ready to eat and go explore, luckily the Bakist is only one block away from my Airbnb. I get a beautiful view of the upper bay on my walk to this very nice bakery/cafe. Immediately upon arrival I see a porch full of cast iron tables and chairs which takes me back to the days at our grandfathers house in the back yard throwing firecrackers at everyone, we like to wake up and choose violence in our family at all ages My order was a double espresso, water, banana nut muffin and a chocolate croissant. Let me say I was baffled as to which one to finish first after taking a bite of each, needless to say I crushed the croissant then destroyed the muffin while sipping on a beautiful espresso! Before I could leave the Bakist I had to go back inside and get two more muffins to go and make sure they were going to have more tomorrow. Im hooked! Thank you to the staff at the Bakist! This is a Beautiful morning!

The absolutely cutest beach town bakery! It maybe small but it's mighty. As soon as you walk in the door, you are instantly smelling deliciousness. Order at the counter, everyone is very friendly and efficient despite being extremely busy early on a Saturday morning. My Chai Tea Latte with Almond milk was perfectly delicious. Blueberry Scone was packed full of huge blueberries. Not too sweet, just how I like scones. I grew up in Europe, scones in the US sometimes can be overwhelming sweet. My Almond croissant was simply yummy, and didn't survive the car ride home.

Over priced and overrated. The coffee isn't that great. It shouldn't come as a shock that this place is never open.

Food is awful. Drinks are overpriced for what they are. The only place I wouldn't recommend around here. Too bad.

Staff were very friendly. Inside they played French instrumental music. Store is super clean and cute on the inside. They offer an extensive selection of flavors of their pasties which includes various macaron flavors, cupcakes, and cakes. I got a cannele, hazelnut financier and a mango iced matcha. The pastries were fresh, soft and mouth watering. The mango iced matcha was a little disappointing due to the bitter after taste of the drink. Looking forward to trying other pastries and other drinks at the patisserie.

I opted for a small box that comes with two petite fours and three macarons. The macaron flavors that I tried were the salted caramel, milk chocolate amaretto, and dark chocolate. The petit four flavors that I tried were the red velvet and the triple chocolate. Everything I had here was so beautifully made and tasted fresh. I will definitely be back here again.

Having said that, it was pretty well run and after waiting in line I found two registers waiting and was able to order a variety of baked goods and a fresh sandwich, which were prepared for me quite speedily. I wouldn't expect to be in and out immediately at peak times, but for me it was maybe forty-five minutes to wait in line, get food, and eat my sandwich. They offer good options for special dietary needs. The vegan sandwich is based on Old Bay marinated tofu, and they are not kidding about that. It is really, really Old Bay flavored. The tomato and avocado livens things up, but honestly the best part of the sandwich was still the sourdough bread, which is fair enough for a bakery. The spread of pastries I acquired was resplendent in quality and variety, and I will be happy to continue trying out all the Black Market locations to see which one is the most convenient.

We ordered the oatmeal pie, almond croissant, wildberry danish, Black Market bun, lemonade blueberry scone, and a caramel cappuccino. Ordering took maybe 4 minutes, and our food was already being bagged while we were ringing up. The drink took another 3 minutes, which was more than reasonable considering how busy they were. What really stood out was the customer service. The guy behind the counter found out it was our first time and immediately gave us a free scone, then took his time explaining how everything works. He walked us down the line, explained what each baked good was, pointed out the most popular items, and even shared his personal favorites. As busy as they were, they still made sure we felt taken care of. There was also a young lady bagging orders who jumped in and out of conversation while working--just as friendly and welcoming. Service like that is refreshing and definitely made an impression. He jokingly asked if he'd see us next weekend... and yeah, we'll definitely be back. The shop was clean, noise level was moderate, and there are a few tables if you get there early or get lucky, but most people seemed to be ordering to go. Lighting was good, and I didn't really notice any music. Price-wise, everything felt more than fair for the quality. They told us everything is cooked fresh daily and they basically go until they sell out--which makes sense given how much business they were doing. The food was excellent: fresh, flavorful, and a great mix of sweet and savory. Honestly, the only regret I had was not trying the breakfast sandwiches--we watched a few being made and they looked serious. Overall, this was an all-around great visit. The way they operate is unique, the food is top-tier, and I can absolutely see why people rush in to grab their favorites before things sell out. Without a doubt, we'll be back.
