If you are looking for a plumber these are absolutely your guys…read more This is coming from a person who never takes the time to review a company. Yesterday afternoon I reached out to Copperhead just to see if they were working with everything going on. They were and asked extremely professional questions in regards to anyone in the household being sick and if I could stay in the other room as they work, great to see they care. I then was promptly scheduled for this afternoon. Fortunately they called me this morning to let me know someone had cancelled and they could move me up to this morning. They came in at 8:45 and were out in less than 45 minutes. I can not say enough how much appreciated the very prompt, professional, and fairly price service of this company. Thank you so much and I will be recommending you to anyone I can in the area.

TRUST ME - STAY AWAY!! As other customers here wrote, I too wish I had read all the negative…read morereviews about this business, but I was unaware that Tom, the previous owner of Copperhead sold to new owners who are a *NIGHTMARE TO DEAL WITH!!* I typically never right a bad review, on the contrary, I'm the one who writes the best and most positive reviews, because I believe people and businesses deserve great recognition and great reviews when warranted. However unfortunately this is NOT the case with the new owner(s) who took over Copperhead Plumbing. I spoke with a Dan, and then realized what everyone else was saying, how the new owner(s) completely destroyed the great reputation Tom built before he retired. I had called a Dan to discuss the repair needed for our boiler. We have 3 zones at home, and the upstairs heat zone to the bedrooms was not working, and my husband tried to change the valve, but had trouble rewiring it although he's an electrical engineer, he felt it better to call the plumber because he needed them to rewire it correctly. Note: The two zones downstairs were working great! Two very young techs came at 8:30 am and 3 hours later were still by the boiler trying to as they said "trying to figure it out". We asked them to not touch the valves or wires for the two other zones as they worked perfectly. I was at work and husband home occasionally checking for any updates from these two young men, and eventually became very worried and concerned with no answers on what was going on. I called the office trying to get an answer on why they were still there 3 hours later, "trying to figure it out" for repairing the ONE ZONE in order to get heat to the 2nd floor bedrooms. I spoke to Dan about our concerns and he rudely and abruptly was raising his voice, and told me "your husband broke the boiler" and it will cost you close to $3,000 for repairs and parts. Plus $300 for the service call today. Needless to say I thought to myself "What kind of company and employees have taken over Copperhead? I don't need to be talked down to this way" This is appalling, unprofessional, and unacceptable to be spoken to and falsely accusing a customer this way, just to *cover his young inexperienced or not well trained technicians*, who apparently seem they were the ones who BROKE OUR BOILER while poking around there for 3 full hours, and now expecting us to pay $3,000 to fix the damage that occurred while they were there!! I once again reminded Dan, that we had HEAT DOWNSTAIRS before the techs arrived, and before they left charged us $300, and after they left, later in the evening we discovered *WE HAD NO HEAT, AND OUR FAMILY PRACTICALLY FROZE* from the cold. Dan and techs was aware I had an elderly mom with Alzheimer's and young grandchildren, (one a baby) in our home - unforgivable!! I gave Dan an opportunity to redeem himself and the business, asking him to send us a more experienced technician the next day (Sat.) and he said he was going to charge us an *Emergency Visit*, in addition to the $200 we paid him the previous day! This was his opportunity to make good, and take care of the damage and frustration our family all went through by leaving us with no heat even downstairs where we had heat before the techs came to our home, and then NO HEAT we discovered after they left. The two zones downstairs which were working when those young techs walked in, was no longer working when they walked out. Not difficult to see whose at fault and why we suddenly had no heat after techs were "trying to figure it out!"

For context, I've been using a well-known plumbing/HVAC company in East Brunswick call Rick's since 2022. They have some solid technicians, but as an engineer, I value clear diagnostics and honest recommendations--especially since I understand the system myself. This year, I noticed high pressure in my old-school baseboard heater boiler. The expansion tank felt full, and since these typically need replacing every 6-8 years, I assumed that was the issue. The company sent out a tech who, without testing or even touching anything, quoted me $1,175 to replace the expansion tank, the relief valve, and the pressure release valve--all of which had already been replaced last year. When I asked why they needed replacing again, he couldn't explain and told me there was no warranty on the parts which i didn't ask for. I just wanted to know the reason, but he had no answer. Also the was he was communicating and responding to my question... Huge red flag...I passed. Enter Chris. I called him on a Friday, and even though he was fully booked, he offered to come by the next morning--on his day off--because he understood the urgency. He spent over an hour carefully inspecting the system and ultimately fixed the issue without replacing a single part. He did recommend upgrading to a larger expansion tank in the future, which made sense, so I asked him to go ahead and do it. Since we had to drain the system anyway, I also had him replace the relief valve, just to be safe. And here's the kicker: he charged under $400 total for parts and labor across two visits. I even told him to charge more and handed him my card he wouldn't take it. Seriously, wow. Beyond that, Chris has a mechanical engineering background and tons of hands-on experience. He listens, explains everything clearly, and only recommends what's actually needed. He also showed great respect for the space wore booties without being asked, cleaned up after himself, and left everything spotless. Great job, Chris, and best of luck! I'll definitely be calling him again when I'm ready to install a ductless AC system. Knowledgeable, honest, professional. what more could you ask for?

Review for Roto-Rooter Rating: I have mixed feelings about my recent experience with Roto-Rooter. On one hand, their technicians are excellent. This was my second time in less than a year having the same sink snaked, and just like the first time, the plumber was professional, timely, neat, and successfully unclogged the drain. If you are in an emergency and need someone reliable who will get the job done right, they are definitely the way to go. However, I find it increasingly difficult to justify using them as a "go-to" service due to the lack of incentive for loyal customers. Paying full price for the same recurring issue within a single year feels steep. While the plumber did offer a $100 discount this time, that is a standard coupon amount I likely could have found elsewhere. What is more frustrating is that I've gone above and beyond to prevent this: * I purchased their proprietary maintenance cleaner (at 3x the price of standard retail cleaners) and used it exactly as instructed. * As a two-family household, we are extremely cognizant of what goes down our drains. * We previously used them for a major sewer line repair--a nearly five-figure job--less than five years ago. I would expect that level of history and investment to place us in a "high-value client" bracket with better pricing protection. The reality is that if it isn't an emergency, there are much more affordable options available for a standard drain snaking. Summary: Great quality and highly reliable, but the pricing model doesn't seem to value repeat customers or long-term loyalty. -- Jason

Was told multiple times it needed to be replaced because jetting wasn't an option. Fast forward to the most recent time we had them out to snake and this guy tells me it needs to be jetted actually. I tell him what I was told before and he assures me that I can in fact be jetted. I said I want to hold off so I make sure I have the extra $700 the jetting will cost. He comes back out a week later WHILE IM AT WORK and does it anyway. I am just sent an invoice. I did not approve of that work at all and then had a horrible experience trying to speak with anyone regarding the issue, none of them communicating to each other, and them threatening collections of I didn't pay. AND NOW, about a year later the line is clogged again and after sending a camera down it looks like it was never jetted at all. Was offered a discount on future service. An actual joke.
