We had a drain specialist come twice, charge us, and leave us with a mess in addition to not actually fixing the clog. The technician told us we had something like "50 feet of coiling pipe" that was impossible to snake, and snakes "don't go longer than 35 feet". Not an ideal situation especially with a toddler and us having to use the bathtub on the main floor to do our dishes and bottles for several days. Mike made extra time in his schedule to come on a Friday night (maybe sensing our stress over the phone). Him and his team could not have been more patient and eventually diagnosed the problem (which was not at all related to the drain specialist's claim). Mike laid out a couple options and him and his team did an awesome job resolving the issue for us. They came back to fully clean up, and ended up charging us a very reasonable amount for all the work they did. Thanks to this experience we'll be calling them for all plumbing issues going forward and will refer them to our friends & neighbors.

He stuck his hand in the mucky/murky water and stirred it around and got it working again.. and told me ..."anytime this happens you can just do this" (UHHH NO THANK YOU SIR, I WILL NOT BE STICKING MY HAND IN GROSS WATER TO FEEL FOR SOMETHING TO TRIGGER THE SUMP PUMP) I told him im not sticking my hand in that so ...what do i just ...poke it with a stick? He said, yeah just do that. So I ultimately paid 1600 dollars for a sump pump replacement that took 2 hours that I have to go and poke with a stick on occasion. How do I feel about this..? Not good, to be honest. I have never paid that much per hour for plumbing work..(well, honestly I paid less for plumbing work from another company that just ended up getting ripped out and to have them text and threaten me)... so I guess at least the plumbing work stayed put and works...90% of the time... but I cannot say it was a good value. (updated 5/13/26 )…read more I try to support local businesses, so I called Pipeworks / Sewer Surgeons (same company) in Chatham, NJ to clear a basement bathroom drain. The technician quoted $750 and proceeded to snake the line from the garage cleanout and a pipe junction inside the garage. He did not snake directly from the bathroom drain where the issue was occurring. Afterward, he asked me to flush the toilet once and said the line was clear. There was no clear explanation that the work would only be warrantied if I agreed to additional jetting service.(jet spray power washing). I paid $598.08 (with a coupon), thanked him, and even tipped him. This was April 24, 2026. Less than 24 hours later, the drain was backing up again. When I called, they sent another technician but told me I would have to pay again. I explained that the original issue had not been resolved, but they refused to stand behind the work and said it was not under warranty. I then hired another licensed plumber, who accessed the line from the basement toilet flange and found multiple clogs that had not been fully cleared. The issue was resolved at that time. (See Photo below ) For a nearly $600 service, I expected the issue to be resolved or at least addressed without additional charges.

Despite not receiving a specific time, given his previous work at my home, I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and hoped for a prompt arrival. However, waiting for 7 hours without any updates was frustrating. It is crucial that when committing to a time, an exact time is provided, especially for emergency calls. While I have no complaints about Michael's work quality and pricing, the significant delay and lack of communication were unacceptable. After finally receiving a message stating he would arrive at 10:30 pm that evening or 4:30 pm the following day, I have decided to sever all ties with Michael and will not be recommending his services to others. Punctuality and clear communication are non-negotiable for me, and I expect the same level of professionalism from service providers
