We had a terrible experience, from start to finish. First, we had two plumbers from the company come out two separate days to complete some minor work (replace a toilet, replace a faucet, and repair pipes behind a washing machine.) Before the second visit, I asked Sean what the estimate would be, since he was rushed to get the work done on a Saturday. I specifically said that there was no rush for the project, and he insisted they come out right away because he had double booked his projects. He said the estimate would be 'give or take $500.' Let me just say that the wall was left completely open from the washing machine. That's fine, since they were upfront about the need to have a contractor come repair the wall, but this was not included in the price. I received a bill for $550. I paid the bill, and the next day I received an additional bill for $280. I called and left a voicemail to speak with someone regarding this, and received no call back. I called a week later, and received a call direct from Sean. He was insistent that this was my fault since I did not request a formal documented estimate. Okay... I said maybe it is, since I trusted the verbal estimate he had given us. This plumber came recommended from the previous owner, so I just assumed they were trustworthy. I said to him, I understand we are on the hook. However it's a really horrible situation since we had been upfront about just moving, have a newborn, and were very tight on money. If we had known it would be almost $800 for 2 hours of work not including repair, I would have said no. Not right now. None of it was urgent, he insisted he come out within 3 days on a Saturday to do the work. He reinforced how I should have asked for a documented estimate and began to yell about how "I don't know what to tell you. I have kids. I have my own bills. I have my own bills to pay that would buy your house." Needless to say, said thank you anyway and hung up the phone. I would absolutely never recommend this company. They should be ashamed how they operate, and speak to people. read more

Cannot say enough about the great service from Lanning Plumbing. Kyle arrived on time today and was able to resolve issues regarding several toilets and dual sink vanity drains quickly. He explained everything and as we have experienced in the past, all Lanning plumbers are skilled, courteous and professional. Pricing always fair and never tries to upsell you to some service you don't need. We wouldn't call anyone else in the Princeton area for plumbing needs. Sean and his guys are the best! read more

I have used Lanning Plumbing many years. Recently had work completed that didn't even function after they left the house ! Very very poor work...but hey it got worse...they sent me a bill..which I paid right away...with a note informing them the work needed to be redone. No response. I called left a detailed voicemail ...again no response. I called again left another message ...same non response. If this is the way they treat a local client of many years..my advice to you is avoid them like COVID ! Poor quality and horrible customer service. Many other plumbers available. read more

Used them for a new hot water heater, not an emergency situation. I received quick service, a good heater at a reasonable price. They removed my two hot water heaters (went from a two heater to one bigger heater system). I forgot to call the Township for installation instruction for a couple years. Called them last year and when inspector saw Lanninig sticker on the heater he said he knew it was done properly. read more

We had accumulated 5 different plumbing problems involving drains, a faucet, a shower balancing valve, and a leak under a vanity. They showed up on time, and the mechanic (Paul) was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He was also a real nice guy! In an hour and a half, he solved all of our problems, and I thought that the bill that we received was very fair, and an excellent value for the service. I will definitely use them again. read more

Had heard good reports. Had a couple of simple items taken care of- installed a bathrrom sink faucet and a couple of kitchen sink drains. The drain stop on the bathroom faucet was not adjusted properly so they had to come back, they used the wrong drains for the kitchen sink, they sent a guy different from who was promised, they left a mess, and charged 50% more than their estimate. read more

I've had several minor plumbing issues that I have called this service for. Everything was done kind of subpar. What really annoyed me was the toilet that they "fixed" by replacing the worn inner bar continued to run water. I was out of the house for a week and raked up a crazy high water/sewer bill. Called the office and always leave messages to set up an appointment. Maybe once, the phone was answered to do a kitchen faucet fix. The fix was fine. I wanted someone to come out to do a furnace maintenance. I called the office, left a vms, and 3 weeks later... no return call. I also called another time for something else, same thing... no return call at all. If you're in a business that deals with customers.. answer the damn phone! At least, have the courtesy to return a call in a timely matter! Won't bother anymore.. read more

I can always rely on David Lanning to fix my plumbing problems. They are courteous, fast and most importantly they get the job done properly. We had a problem with our hot water heater, flooded our basement in a new home. PSEand G worryfree was not helpful. Another plumber charged a fortune just for a clamp. Then the heater stopped working because of the water damage, PSEand G said they ordered a part, was 2 weeks and still didn't work. When I told Mr Lanning he came out early in the morning same day and had a new and better hot water heater replaced. Reasonable charge and no problems since. We have had other plumbing issues which were addressed efficiently and most important without recurrence of the problems. He fixes an old house our daughter owns and again, no problems after.
