I went to HairMasters on a Thursday night to get a haircut which ended up not what I expected it to be. The front of my hair ended up a lot shorter than the rest of my hair and during the appointment I had pointed that out only to have the hairdresser say that it was because the cape was black and because my hair was black she did not "see" where she was actually cutting...long story short I called in to Sofia's asking if I could get my hair fixed and Sofia told me I could come Friday morning before 10:30 a.m. Sofia is very kind and thoughtful when she cuts your hair. She makes sure to ask you what you want. This was my first time coming in to Sofia's and I was not disappointed. Even though I lost more length for Sofia to properly fix my hair and make the rest of my hair even and similar in length, she was quick about it while also pointing out that my hair indeed was cut poorly at HairMasters. I learned my lesson the hard way and will now be going to Sofia's to get my hair done. She and I also spoke to one another in Vietnamese, which is a big plus! I really like Sofia Hair & Nail and would like to recommend them. Hien did a haircut and highlights for me. The result is amazing - the highlight color is exactly what I want. My hair is so smooth and feels natural . Usually it is dry and kind of "artificial" after highlights ...but not this time. I am really impressed with the final result. Also she did good job with the haircut : nice and smooth line. The price is very reasonable. You normally would pay much more for such quality and the service. Hien was very accommodating and flexible. She was able to find spot for me the same day as actually staid a little later for me. I was desperate... my hair needed to be cut and every other place I visited couldn't fit me in. Like finding a good mechanic, I hadn't found a place I trust enough to come back regularly. Through a rec from a family memeber, I called Sofia and she said "I'll fit you in." I told her I'd be there in 5 mins! and she worked her MAGIC. She did the exact haircut I wanted listening to each specific request I made and it didn't even take too long. Long enough that I knew she was being percise and skillful, not so long that I was questioning all the services that were adding up. In the end, it was so affordable! Sofia did a phenomenal job on my layers. She knew exactly what I wanted and even added a nice natural touch of highlight to top it off. I have very thick natural wavy curls. Sofia was super nice and did an excellent job of evently layering my hair. It made perfect sense for me to stand while she precisely formed my haircut shape. I didn't mind it at all! Standing for a small portion of the time was a unique way of finding where my hair naturally hung rather than having my hair lay over my chair. I have a personal barber back in Tacoma who happen to be out of town at the moment. I drove all the way up from Tacoma, WA to get a quick haircut. I have a couple friends that recommended this place because they've all said good things from their experiences. And I fully agree. Sofia knew what I wanted from the start, a high fade. After finishing, the fade had its layers fading up perfectly. Talking to Sofia I learned that she's been in the barber and hairstyling business for over 10 years. I popped in around 5:50 PM and asked Sofia if she could do me and my sons hair. She did my sons hair first and asked him and I how we liked it as she was cutting. She did a great job on his hair and my son really likes it. She started my hair and asked me what I wanted and I said just like my sons. She told me how different his hair was than mine and would have to be cut a little differently. After she cut and trimmed for awhile she asked me how the length was. I told her it looked good. Sofia did a great job on haircuts for me and my daughter. I have a short pixie haircut that must be kept professional looking and requires a lot of maintenance. Usually I dread having to spend half a weekend morning getting my hair cut monthly, but Sophia was quick and skilled- she knew what I wanted it to look like, and it took less than half an hour, at half the price I used to pay at other salons. People have different expectations and sometimes compare this salon to others, claiming that something was not as "good as somewhere else." Sofia did an amazing job with my hair. I wanted to get a little more of a natural definition with my hairstyle. Sofia did a dark chocolate balayage at the tips as I wanted with my look. I'm quite happy with the results. The color on my hair left it feeling fresh, shiny and natural as I wanted it to be, it did not dry my hair at all. Throughout the haircut, Sophia was delicate, and I didn't experience any scabbing or irritation as with many other hair stylists. First time getting my haircut by Sofia and was really happy with the result! Immediately when I walked in I felt welcomed and was seated for the cut. I told her that I wanted to cleanup the top and cut the sides short and she did exactly that. She was also really friendly and easy to talk to. She pays keen attention to every small detail to the point where my hair still looks good three weeks later and I question if I really need to get it again so soon.
