Front of restaurant blends so well with landscape, I almost missed it. LOL

Wow i never heard of this place before, it was an after work event 2019 I joined and I am glad I came. Definitely a hidden, quiet local restaurant in neighborhood block with local stores, homes, and few eateries. Don't be scared and just go down the alley, nothing will jump out at you. It's like you are transported away to a quiet oasis away from big city. I was seated in the inside events room with a long table. There is outdoor seatings as well across from us. It was like being transported out of San Francisco to some alleyway in Europe which was cool. The food was great. I was here for a work event and we had a set menu. The chocolate oblivion cake was phenomenal perfect to satisfy any chocolate craving! Love it. Everything tasted great. As I write this it is 3/2026 and I still have a great memory of the atmosphere and the food are just exceptional quality. I been having hard time convincing people to come here with me to eat dinner here. Many people I tell the about never heard of this place. But is a hidden neighborhood gem that gets overlooked by more popular restaurants. At this rate I might as well go back to this place myself and have a romantic dinner for one . The salad with freshly grated Parmesan cheese , seared scallops, complimentary bread and what ever items I had were great. I will need to go back for sure. Didn't I say love this place? Yummy in my tummy! Let me count the ways....

It has been a while since we visited Sociale. We had a great time. We both opted for pasta dishes this time. My Hb almost always ended up liking what I ordered tho. The Campanelle pasta with shredded pork was so delicious, and he ate most of it. I like his tagliatelle bolognese, too. The burrata was just okay. Seemed a tad watery, not creamy, so we had better elsewhere. For dessert, I opted for something decadent and chocolate, so choose the chocolate oblivion cake. Satisfied my sweet tooth and took most of it to go. My hubby chose the Olive Oil Cake and the restaurant gifted this to him as a complimentary birthday dessert. Very lovely. Great service and romantic ambiance with all the twinkling lights. I absolutely love this vibe. 4.5 stars. Located on Sacramento and Spruce.

My photo was featured on Sociale's Yelp page--an unexpected honor! But it made me realize... how have I not written a glowing tribute to one of the most charming Italian gems in the City? Sociale may be a small restaurant, but the experience it delivers is nothing short of grand. The atmosphere instantly transports you--one bite of pasta and you're dining under the Tuscan sun. The outdoor seating is not only adorable but always buzzing with life and laughter. Not once have I left Sociale disappointed. This place is consistently exceptional. The kitchen is a symphony of passion--every chef and staff member puts heart and hustle into creating meals that don't just satisfy, but inspire. While I've fallen in love with many of their dishes, the seared scallops are my undisputed favorite--perfectly cooked, delicately seasoned, and absolutely unforgettable. Service is top-tier. The staff is warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Each dish arrives hot, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavor. Every visit feels like a celebration. Sociale isn't just a restaurant--it's a little slice of Italy tucked into the heart of the City. Highly, highly recommended.

Quaint Italian restaurant tucked away in an alley in the Presidio, a literal hidden gem. The outdoor and indoor areas are cute, cozy, and intimate. Staff are all very welcome and accommodating. All dishes we ordered that night were truly delicious. Flavorful appetizers and sides, tender fish and al dente pasta for mains. Both desserts were amazing as well. The blood orange panna cotta had such an intense refreshing orange flavor and perfectly complemented the rich chocolate oblivion cake. Highly recommend Sociale!

We came here for my aunt's birthday and the service and ambiance here were wonderful! Our waitress Veronica walked us through the menu, and also brought out my aunt's dessert with a candle. The food was underwhelming. My rigatoni was weirdly chewy (not that it wasn't cooked through, but as if the pasta dough was too thick). My cousin had the linguine with clams and didn't care for it. We enjoyed the caprese salad, but did not like the watermelon sorbet. The bread was delicious though! Overall, I don't think I'll be back because of the food, but it was a very cute place and the staff members were great.

This is an excellent Italian restaurant. Don't expect all spaghetti dishes. There's rabbit, duck, chicken, steak and pork cooked to perfection. The salad was unbelievably good and the service is exceptional. From the outside, there's a small gate that led to a beautiful restaurant with indoor and outdoor seatings. If you are a foodie, you can taste the difference. The food is so flavorful. The Brussels sprouts were so crispy. For Thinsulin fans, there's many green light options.

We ate here for belated Valentine's day and I am still thinking about that Chocolate Oblivion cake. It was absolutely delicious! Service was amazing and very conversational which was nice. Ambiance is cute and it's tucked away that it feels private. The food itself is tasty and they kind of have a "half" theme going for them where they offer half bottles of wine and you can do half and half pasta! The portions are not that big which seems to be a negative for others but personally we are not fans of being overstuffed and full so this was quite perfect for us. We will be returning!

Sociale Had the pleasure of coming here for a medical dinner and preset menu. I started off with the Burrata: Watermelon, lemon on zest, and Chile flake. Moved on to (my personal favorite) the Seared Scallops: braised corn, seared figs, and smoked sea salt. Then chose the Steelhead Trout: Blue Lake & Yellow wax beans, green olive & caper tapenade as my entree. And ended with the Blood Orange Panna Cotta with Candied kumquats. This was such a cute dinner place. Hidden behind an alley of stores, you stumble upon a nice Italian restaurant with outdoor and indoor seating. The food was amazing and service was great, so I'll definitely be back in the near future!

We were told 10/15 minutes for a table. Took 50 minutes - nearly an hour! We totally should have gone somewhere else but alas we eventually were seated. I got pasta and also and some of the pinsa (Roman style pizza). Also had the meatballs. Everything was just so so. The pizza almost tasted stale - someone mentioned it is supposed to be like that but I've had pinsa a few times and that was not my experience. The pasta was pretty good - a red sauce. Nothing special. Meatballs also solid. Somehow my pasta came up 12-15 mins after everything else's food which was entirely confusing but oh well. The wine was good. Overall a cute little wine bar in CV, would def come back but nothing to write home about.

I was not a " stranger who walked from Haight street to your premises. Make no mistake about it. The scope of trust and honesty is more valuable and important than the scope of ice cream . At the request of my daughter and my grandmother we went to the ice cream bar this last Wednesday, taking to account we have been customers for the past 10 years on and off , we would drive from Marin just to have the ice cream there . We have seen employees come and go including Managers. Since my kids went to Grattan school. At times I personally like to pay for things in cash . We know most customers about 67% would pay by credit cards. To make a long story short. I wanted to pay my bill in $100 bill . Brand new , undamaged and straight from Wells Fargo bank. Negative thoughts would generate actions , negative actions would generate negative prejudice. What were the odds of having a family and customer using malice in bad faith? I presented the legal tender of $100 bill to The server, he took the money and checked 4 times looking at the number at the front, he used his left hand using his fingernails to scratch the bill in a strange way, like if it was a lottery ticket or a gift card , we know that large bills should be checked. then stated that he cannot accept the bill and that he had no change. Immediately, objected to his statement. I told him I quote: " You didn't even open the cash register , how would you know if you have change or not " ? He responded sarcastically, I have been handling the money all day . I responded by saying: then you should know if you can make change or not . Furthermore, I stated to him that is not how you would check for a valid $100 bill . A special counterfeiting pen is ideal to check bills. I showed him the way to be checked by holding the bill upright and matching the serial numbers to the bill. He made no good faith effort to get help from his manager , to call someone or confer with a third party responsible. This has created an inconvenience for my family. Luckily, I brought a backup card and payed by discover card to diffuse the situation . I wonder how many $100 bills were passed by me for the last 10 years? I even suggested he should call the police if he was so sure that it was a counterfeit bill. It was certainly a legal tender of a good faith/ money and finance . Section U.S.C 31 5103. The Constitution says otherwise. The ice cream bar failed to warn . If it was a policy not to accept a $100 bill , it should have been known by a clear and convincing fact by posting a statement that " No large bills / $100 bills are accepted " in a clear view of customers to be seen. I have tried to communicate with the company's MANAGER by calling her 3 times . She did not bother to answer my request to address my concerns , " my phone calls were screened " and refused to take my phone calls or respond. See how easy to lose a customer. I will not recommend this place nor go black to this ice cream place.
