OMG this place was deli deliiiii, I loved it so much and they will be seeing me again! I love Peruvian food, to me they have the best ceviche of all the countries! This place really helped reinforce my beliefs , the ceviche social was amazing and the there was absolutely no regrets for any of the meals . I can't wait to try the octopus anticuchero, salmon sashimi , and the WONTACOS TARTARE. I've had yuca fries before but these were so unique and so was the causa limeña would definitely do again. The service was very attentive, they even gave us a purse hook for the table. The place was absolutely beautiful and lively and loud, so you may need to talk a little loud lol
It's so cute in here and the service was excellent! Rohan was our server and he was very attentive. I love that they offer you fruit to infuse your water, such a nice touch! I opted for the cucumber and pineapple. I started off with the plantains for my appetizer and they were amazing! The sweetness balanced so well with the feta cheese. Perfection. My entree was the wok fried rice with filet mignon and it was excellent!! Cannot wait to come back
If you love Peruvian food, you have to try this place! Great service, beautiful ambiance, and exceptional service. Went here on a Friday evening with my dinner club and we were throughly impressed. The food was so tasty and the drinks were even better. I've had many Pina Coladas in my day but theirs was by far the best I've had, so rich and creamy! We ordered so much food to share but my favorite dish was the Peruvian social, it was super fresh. Our waiter Eduardo was so nice and attentive to our group. We were originally seated outside but wanted to go inside due to allergies and he made it happen. Not only was he knowledgeable about the menu but he took the best pics of our group. This place is a much try, very instagramable if that's your vibe. Not a big establishment so I do recommend making reservations. Will definitely be back.
10/10 for the ambiance, food and cocktails. The restaurant is beautiful. Everything was fresh and full of flavor.
The ambiance was just right. There's indoor and outdoor seating, the restaurant is actually a lot smaller than I thought! The food was well seasoned and tasty. Had the fried rice with the filet mignon, the burger, the tacos and the calamari. The tacos were top tier and definitely a fan favorite! I want to go back for the wings! My only complaint is that happy hour and the specials are available at the New Orleans location.
Went to Social on a Thursday night for a party of 2. We had a reservation and were seated immediately, which was great. As soon as you walk up, you really get the vibe of Social. The outdoor seating is super cute, and the inside is small but very well designed, from the bar to the chair choices to even the light fixtures. The ambiance really delivered. 5/5. I don't really remember the music because it was very loud inside with all the tables full, so it was a bit hard to hear conversations. Our server was excellent!! He was attentive, checked in just enough without overdoing it, and explained the menu really well. I'll start with the best plate of the night: the salmon sashimi. Everything about this dish was tasty! The passion fruit came through in the sauce, and the sliced jalapeño added just the right kick. I'd definitely recommend this dish. After that, honestly, everything else was pretty underwhelming and lacked flavor. The yuca fries were basically fried dough balls with mozzarella inside, flavorless, and the truffle was barely noticeable. I'd pass on these. The fried rice was fine, but it lacked salt or anything to really give it an "umph". The chicken was cooked perfectly, but again, it didn't have much flavor. Dessert was... interesting. The tres leches was more like a chocolate pudding than an actual cake, with a thin layer of strawberry something on top. It was explained as a cookie, but I'm not really sure that's what it was, though it did taste like strawberry. The other dessert was also just okay. There was a lot going on flavor-wise, and it didn't really work for me personally. I'd pass on dessert altogether. Overall: ~3.5/5, but really the food was a 3. I will say though, the plating of the dishes was very pretty and well done. I'm in no rush to go back. Maybe other dishes have more flavor, maybe not, but with so much incredible, flavor-packed food in New Orleans, this spot just didn't do it for us, especially at its high price point.
Social is such a beautiful place to enjoy amazing food and drinks! I enjoyed everything about my dinner experience here. The decor is gorgeous with beautiful, comfortable chairs, outdoor seating, and large windows to gaze out of while enjoying dinner. The food and drinks were also equally as good. At the recommendation of my waiter, Deivis, I started with the yuca fries, which aren't shaped like fries at all. They are very delicious! The are shaped into balls with I think a mozzarella and yuca mix stuffed inside. I loved them!! I tried the pasta al pesto for dinner, and it was a panko battered, butterflied chicken breast on top of a bed of green noodles. DELICIOUS! The wait staff is also top notch here. My glass of water never stayed low, the waiter gave us excellent recommendations, and Deivis was super attentive! I can't wait to come back! Also, I received a delicious tres leches over a chocolate cake as a birthday dessert! Along with a birthday chant and sparkler from the team. I love this place!
Finally got to visit Social and was very pleased with the food, service and the aesthetic of the decor. We didn't have a reservation on a Friday evening and the host was so kind to seat us at an open table outside. The twinkle lighting and setup made for a really nice atmosphere, but I would've preferred an indoor seat because the temperature was dropping steadily. None of us ordered any drinks because we had a happy hour meet up prior to dinner, so we got straight to ordering appetizers. We had the appetizer tacos, ceviche and octopus to start. Everything was delicious and the presentation was lovely. Very beautiful. The portions were small, enough for just a taste. Especially divided amongst the 4 of us. We had the fettuccine pasta with shrimp and the seafood paella for main dishes. Everything was tasty. Shout-out to our server Eduardo. He was so friendly, kind and great at explaining the menu.
So impressed by our dining experience here! Came in on a busy weekend night and they were able to accommodate us without reservations. Food came out a little on the slower side but was in good company. We sat on the cute outdoor patio and really enjoyed it. Started off with the truffle yuca fries and tuna tartare tacos. Both full of flavor, just wish the yuca fries had a bit more truffle flavor. Beautiful plating presentations! Also got the filet mignon entree. Perfectly cooked medium rare & seasoned well. Loved the combination of flavors with the oyster sauce & accompaniments. Service was outstanding, best we've had out in a while. Appreciated the table side lemon & strawberry offerings for our water, Overall, great experience and looking forward to trying the ceviche + other items next time!
Axel was an amazing server. He was attentive; accommodating and made our ten year anniversary special. What was not great was the entrees. The duck special was basically raw. I have never thrown up after dinner, and this was a first for me. The duck was not cooked to temperature. My wife ordered the lomos saltado medium rare and BOTH TIMES came back Blue/Raw. It was like the chef could not cook meats as both appetizers were phenomenal. Overall, we would not come back. After what we experienced tonight, this was definitely a let down.
This was such an amazing dinner find during my trip to NOLA! Came here with a few coworkers and everything was absolutely delicious. We ordered the salmon sashimi, and I loved the passion fruit sauce that it comes with. Super light and fresh, I wish it came with more salmon! I ordered the fettuccine huancaina and I loved it. Super flavorful and the sauce that it comes with is super creamy. Highly recommend the arroz con leche, it comes in a corn mold and I love that horchata taste with the cinnamon. All the food was great and definitely instagram worthy. I've never had much Peruvian food before but would definitely come back!
Beautiful spot and great service. The food was very flavorful. We tried the won tacos and i had the short ribs which were amazing. Taking off a star bc there were a few things we wanted to order that had ran out. The menu is not that big so that limited the offerings. I would definitely return.
Social is an experience! What stood out was the decor, attentiveness of staff, presentation of the food, and the flavors. Our waiter was kind and quite knowledgeable. He did an exceptional job of explaining menu items we were unfamiliar with. I had the octopus which was not only beautiful to look at, but quite tasty as well. My friend had the wings which had a unique flavor you probably wouldn't get elsewhere in the city, as well as the white beans. She enjoyed the white beans so much, she ended up ordering another side of them. I'd definitely double back to Social to try more menu items, as it seems you can't go wrong with anything.

We stumbled upon Social Magazine during our trip. We were strolling along Magazine Street after lunch on a hot & humid day. We stopped in for a cool drink, but when we noticed some of the lunch plates being served, we asked to take a look at the menu. We were instantly sold! Dinner plans were made. The ambiance at Social Magazine is lovely, and the service is exceptional. We arrived for dinner without a reservation, and the restaurant was fully booked. Fortunately, they had two seats at the bar, which was perfect. Jhon, the bartender we saw during our impromptu midday stop, remembered us and went above and beyond to make our dining experience unforgettable. He not only recommended some dishes but also made one of the best old-fashioned's I've ever had. The food was simply incredible. The grilled octopus (pulpo anticuchero) was incredibly tender and flavorful, while the ceviche clásico was refreshing and zesty. The lomo saltado was also a highlight, with its elevated preparation and presentation. We mentioned we were in town celebrating our anniversary, and they surprised us with a complimentary dessert. If you're visiting or live in NOLA, I highly recommend this place. read more
What a charming place! The Peruvian-Japanese fusion was carried through from design to table. Super wait staff knew what to recommend and had intimate knowledge of all the food. Everything was flavor forward, beautiful presentation, and deeeelicious. read more

I decided to pop into this new restaurant before heading the the Saenger Theater for a play. It's in the old location of Tito's on Magazine. This place is nicely decorated with outdoor seating as well. It's small and intimate. That being said, get a reservation. The waiter was amazing and the staff consistently asked if there was anything we needed. I even was asked before leaving if there was anything that they could improve. The hospitality was impressive. The food was amazing. I didn't realize that this place has some Japanese influence in the menu. Peruvian and Japanese fusion is the couple I didn't knownI needed to meet. Everything was super fresh and delicious. We were served in a timely fashion. I can't wait to return to try more things. read more

The space at Social on Magazine is small, quaint, and thoughtfully designed, with calming décor that makes it feel warm and inviting. The service was excellent, and the team was attentive throughout the visit. That said, the menu was a bit challenging for someone with dietary restrictions. There weren't many options that worked for me, and I was disappointed that there wasn't a single green salad available. I had a hard time finding something I could eat and ultimately settled on two servings of bread, which were great, along with wings that I mostly ate around. The wings were a bit fatty and just okay. Overall, the atmosphere and service were strong, but I'd love to see a few more lighter, fresher, and dietary-friendly options added to the menu. read more

This place is absolutely amazing. The ambiance is so peaceful and Aestethic . Decided to eat outside due to the weather being wonderful. Our waiter was such a sweet heart and really did a good job throughout our time there. The food was very very tasteful. I would recommend the tacos especially. Def plan on visiting this place again soon. read more
Really great spot! The restaurant is beautiful and it almost felt like I was sitting in a cave. It was warm, cozy, intimate and really modern. Loved it! The service was great, I had the most amazing server who was attentive, polite, and who really took his time to explain the menu. We ordered the seafood paella and shrimp fettuccine, the paella was the best I've ever had. It was favorable, the portion was good and just a balanced dish. The pasta lacked flavor. It fell flat but the shrimp were beautifully cooked. read more

Excellent service from the waiter Eduardo! The atmosphere was very welcoming. Our waiter took his time highlighting each dish; I was very impressed with his knowledge of the entire menu, even with a few guests who had specific dietary needs. He was very accommodating and offered several suggestions. The food was phenomenal! We ordered the wonton tartar tacos, ceviche carretillero, and pulpo anticuchero. The food was so incredibly flavorful with no details missed. I definitely look forward to coming back and enjoying more ceviche. read more
So, so excited to have Social in the UP-Uptown area! There aren't too many restaurants on that end of Magazine but now, we have a super cool spot with delicious Peruvian food and amazing drinks. Firstly, $6 drinks DAILY Monday-Friday 11am-6pm...sign me up!! That's an amazing special, even for New Orleans. And these aren't just "drinks"..they're true craft cocktails so, s/o to Bartender Jhon for his artistry! I recommend the Pisco Sour and Margarita. I've dined-in for lunch with friends, and both wok-fried rice dishes I tried were super flavorful and a nice serving size. I can't wait to try more seafood dishes. Our server Rogger was super helpful and polite. Wonderful new spot!! read more
Ok, I really enjoyed Social. First, it's so cute -- the sign alone is mesmerizing and inviting! The drinks are all very interesting! I mean that in a good way, definitely different, but exotic and refreshing from other specialty cocktails around the city! The food is SO GOOD, lawd have mercy. Idk what I was expecting, but it exceeded all expectations. Truly, we did shareables and I want to go back alone and get everything plus some. Service, especially for somewhere new in the city, was 10/10. We went on a busy Friday night and they were SO ACCOMMODATING TO ALL OF OUR NEEDS, AND WE HAD A COUPLE. But the hostess and all our servers were straight-up delightful! I can't wait to go back! read more
The place is cute, on the smaller side, intimate but they did great managing the space. The host stand is outside and gives more space for inside dining. They had tables outside too but it was freezing this day in January. Our server was amazing, he was by himself and was getting a little busy but you could tell he was trying his best to keep up. Our main dishes came out a little later than we would have hoped but they were delicious so it made the wait worth it. Steak was cooked to perfection on the fried rice and the fettuccine with chicken was perfection. Higher priced food items but their attention to detail and quality of food and flavors explains why. We can't wait to come back and explore all the other menu items read more

Great ambiance and great food. Relatively small space on Magazine street with not many tables, so likely hard to get a walk in on a busy night. Was still slow to be seated even with a reservation on a Monday. The decor was perfect for the occasion and was very upscale. Food was even better. Started with the ceviche social which was good for ceviche I've had in New Orleans. Not the best ceviche I've ever had but definitely still worth the price. The arroz con mariscos was amazing, good amount of seafood and shrimp in a Peruvian style paella. The tres leches for dessert was good as well and the drinks were good and about what I expected for the price point. Overall great food and drinks with a cute interior. Definitely need a reservation if you want to be seated quickly as there are not many tables inside. read more

Second time here and I love this place! We sat on the cute outdoor patio which I would absolutely recommend. We started with the salmon sashimi, wonton tacos, and the calamari. Everything was amazing - we asked to keep the sauce from the salmon sashimi plate to dip everything in. For our mains, we got the arroz con mariscos, the ceviche carretillero and the fettuccini with shrimp. The arroz was unique and had a great smoky flavor. We finished off our meal with the tres leches cake. We had a great experience with our server, Rohan. He explained everything on the menu and provided recommendations. I will definitely be back! read more

Great spot for amazing food that is other than creole, soul, or boiled. We had the Wontacos , ceviche Social starters and split the Arroz Frito with filet mignon. Our table also had the Pulpo Anticuchero and Arroz Con Marisco. Plenty of food for four foodies; all of it delicious. Fresh seafood, potent herbs and citrusy/spicy sauces perfectly complemented one another in each dish. Filet was a little chewy, but nicely flavored. We also had the plantain, compliments of GM Misael, that can easily double as a light dessert. Great service from our waiter, Daivis, and anyone else that stopped to check on our four-top. We live in Houston and Ft. Worth, but will stamp Social "Recommended!" on the short-list for our New Orleans eat-about get-aways! read more

Came on a solo date and was pleasantly surprised. The ambiance was aesthetically pleasing. Eduardo was my server and was so sweet. For starters I got the wontacos...DELICIOUS and the come in 4. I also got the ceviche clasico, not big on the canchita. For my entree I did the fettuccine huancaina I believe. read more
