A lot of mixed reviews for this place and I had my sights set for a while now so decided to pass by this cafe last Tuesday. When I arrived, there were only 2 men with their laptops. It was relatively quiet around (and this was around 1-1:30pm). The ambience is bright and beautiful. Cool artwork on the walls and an impressive chandelier. You can see the skyscraper from the windows! I wanted to try the bombolini and there were a few flavors so tried the tiramisu. It was heavy cream filled (in a good way) and had an espresso tube on top that you can squeeze to get the good espresso in. (That was pretty unique). It was messy with the powdered sugar but definitely did not find it dry. I got the bacon and egg frittata and it was pretty salty...I settled on this bc I wasn't sure how I would react with the breakfast burritos and the sauces (I guess I could've omitted the sauce!) The cardamom rose americano was superb! Right amount of flavors and in a tall glass. It would be nice to see more food options since I thought it was limited to just breakfast. Everyone likes the drinks and I'd have to agree. They also serve tutta Bella salads and pizzas (tutta Bella is actually in the same complex as this cafe). They also have essentials like laundry detergent and hand soap. That's where the market comes into the mix in their name. I'd come back, maybe to just chill and have a quick bite. Drinks are not bad here--I've gotten the banana brulee latte, ube latte, and the cardamom rose americano. All were pretty good, although sweet. I've had a few problems with the cardamom rose americano "deflating" after a few minutes and the amount in the cup being pretty deceptive. The banana brulee latte is advertised as having caramelized bananas on top, but the 3 times I've gotten it they have not had them available and at this point I think they just don't do it and are falsely advertising :/ The bombolonis are nothing amazing. I've had Sonrisa donuts before and I don't really think they measure up to what I would consider the "great" donut places in Seattle. The dough is not very fluffy, a bit dry, and the fillings are usually a little stale. I have a feeling they sit out for a while (maybe multiple days?) because I've never seen them sold out. My main gripe with the cafe is their inconsistency in marketing (an example of which being the banana latte lacking caramelized bananas as mentioned on the menu)--they were supposed to have new drinks available but they seemed to have walked this back as I have seen no new drink options. They also offered a 10% discount for residents at the REN which my friend who lives there had used multiple times before without issue, and they are now claiming that was never an available discount. I'm confused and put off by the multiple times I've been misled by this cafe, which is why I'm giving them 3 stars. read more

Cute cafe, loved the high ceilings and how open it is. Stopped by during lunch time and was surprised it wasn't as busy as I anticipated it to be. I decided to get an iced goat milk flat white and a tiramisu bombolone. The items were on the more pricier side - total came to around $16 for a doughnut and coffee which I thought was a bit too much for two items. The coffee was decent and the doughnut was pretty filling, the tiramisu flavor was spot on and the doughnut wasn't too sweet - just enough to satisfy the sweet tooth, which is a plus for me. Service is great - the lady behind the counter is super friendly and extremely persuasive in getting you to buy a doughnut. I do wish the seating was a little different with more tables and chairs - the stools were a bit to high and found it difficult to sit and get up especially being short. Ended up getting a hibiscus lemonade for the ride home and a couple of doughnut and they also didn't disappoint. The hibiscus lemonade is super refreshing! read more

Love their little market corner with snacks and drinks from local spots like Tutta Bella! I tried the passionfruit and the vanilla donut! Social Fabric has been all over social media, so my friend and I decided to give it a try. Disappointed to say, this place did not live up to its hype. We came on a Sunday morning, and it was surprisingly empty inside. I was expecting it to be crowded given that it was newly opened and centrally located in the heart of SLU. On the bright side, we were able to order and get our food quickly. I also liked the tall ceilings, abundance of natural sunlight, and the decors inside the cafe. My friend and I shared a vanilla bomboloni and grape focaccia. The bomboloni was fairly small given how pricey it was ($6) and tasted average. The grape focaccia was a little dry, but I did like that the grape balanced out the saltiness of the focaccia. My friend got the coconut drink which I didn't try, but it looked pretty. Overall, I liked the ambiance but didn't enjoy the food as much as I hoped to. read more

Gotta say that this place is good if you are coming for the drinks and not the food or donuts. I would highly recommend the coconut coconuts drink. It is light and refreshing from the coconut juice and pairs well with the coffee foam where it adds a bit of bitterness. Personally I don't think 6.60 for a donut is worth it especially for such a small amount. It didn't taste bad but it had a bit too much earthy (mushroomy??) taste to it. This threw me off a bit but overall it was okay. I didn't taste it myself however my friends said that the focaccia wasn't as consistent so take that as how you would like. However if you are in the area, you can always check this place out. It's a cute little cafe with a lot of sunlight. read more

The matcha latte was very milky. The coconut coconut was refreshing. Cold brew is just your average cold brew, not acidic. The pepper and bacon was fluffy but the tomato and onion focaccia was fairly dense and chewy. The flavor is fine but for its price there are much better focaccia out there. The tiramisu donut had a mushroom/earthy taste. Didn't taste much like tiramisu, was a fun experience with the squeezer though. read more

I'm pretty surprised by the mixed reviews here - to be fair, I only tried the gelato so that's all I can review. They have a few flavors but not too many. We were able to sample a lot of them which was nice! I ended up getting the pistachio - it was honestly so good. The pistachio flavor was deep and prominent, and there were nice pistachio pieces inside too. The scoop itself was also a relatively generous size for the price. I think this was my worst coffee experience ever in SLU or Seattle. I would advise against buying coffee from this cafe. I tried to articulate what I was looking for but it appeared that there was a gap. I was hoping to get their original, plain flat white, but they made their famous goat milk flat white with vanilla syrup, which made the coffee excessively sweet. We only came to try the donuts and they were disappointedly boring flavors for $6 each. Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, tiramisu and unfilled. Sonrisa has had much more interesting flavors at her pop ups so it was disappointing to see these boring flavors in the cafe. Please do rotating flavors that are more exciting... Are the donuts fried fresh each day? The dough itself was dry which was odd since it was cream filled. The strawberry donut had an almost gritty texture to it. We tried their Coconuts coconuts: fusion drink with coconut water and espresso shot Cardamom rose americano: pretty strong hint of cardamom overpowering the rose flavor, good try though Bomboloni: they have 4 options to choose from, tiramisu can never go wrong Dark chocolate gelato: a 5/5 A must visit place if you want to experiment the basic cafe food items with a twist or even spend your day quietly working with a fun ambience around. The space is beautiful, super tall ceiling, ample seating, hipster-esque, with a range of grab and go bites plus DONUTS?! But you gotta be there EARLY if you want a chance to pick any up. The drinks were good not great but the service made up for it. With a new shop I imagine there's always going to be a learning curve. My order was wrong so I got a free drink plus my they gave me the wrong focaccia bread. Nonetheless they were both delicious. read more

This cafe has a bit to work on after opening. Starting positive, the atmosphere was friendly, the cafe was clean with lots of pretty seating, perfect for catching up with a friend. The menu also contains some interesting items, and I liked the inclusion of a coffee and mini donut combo (which is what I ordered, called the "Sofa Mocha" combo on the menu for $7.50.) The donut was also not bad. On the other hand, my mocha was sickeningly sweet and almost sticky in texture - I didn't want to finish my drink because of the flavor. I couldn't taste any espresso under the 'chocolate' flavor - I understand that sweeter drinks make it hard for the espresso to shine but this was quite excessive. I also checked out the grab-n-go area, which had a fair selection of sandwiches and other goodies, but for a couple more bucks than you'd anticipate. As of now, I'd go back for a donut if a friend invited me but I'd bring my own drink. I hope this cafe has great luck in improving the coffee experience going forward - the competition in Seattle is tough. read more

Came in because I wanted to check out their market items - they don't have too much but I appreciate they also offer food and some whole foods instead of just coffee shop pastries (which they also have!). I agree with the other reviewers that they can still improve on some of the coffee and food offerings, but the girl who took my order was really sweet! Checked this place out and was a little disappointed. The coffee was alright and the food was ok. My biggest issue was that I asked what was on the focaccia and the one I got they said was cheese and veggies but when I bit into it there was definitely bacon and they did not mention that. I don't eat bacon and was disappointed. They should definitely tell you if there's meat in their dishes if you ask what is in it. Not sure I'd go back but wouldn't tell someone not to go. read more

I was very dissatisfied with customer service this morning. The girl wearing the bandanna in her hair has no customer service qualities. There were no names listed for the food items in the cabinet and I was inquiring about the foods, trying to describe them and point and them and she made me feel like I should have known exactly that the item was. Had I not been hungry, I would have just left without making a purchase. I ultimately purchased a focaccia and bomboli. Both were good. I would be willing to try eating here again, but if the customer service is anything like today- I would definitely not be going back. read more

Can't wait for SoFa to open officially this Monday! You have to check this place out, their extensive offerings are beyond delicious. We spoke to the staff during this first-look event (everyone is so friendly and welcoming by the way!) and they told us their coffee is single origin from Colombia and the staff was trained by one of the coaches of the world barista competition. We were so impressed and when we tried the coffee we tasted the incredible quality and care with which the shots are pulled. They currently have a cardamom rose americano specialty drink featured on their menu that you must try. They make their cardamom syrup in-house, from scratch, and it's absolutely perfect! The oat milk foam in the americano added a nice touch of silkiness to the drink -you can't pass this up. My husband got a mocha, which was also incredible. You can taste the quality of the chocolate they use because the drink is very balanced, not overly sweet nor overly bitter. My husband and I lived in Austin before moving to Seattle so we've had our fair share of breakfast burritos, but SoFa's are by far better than any others we've had in the past! We especially liked that the egg, potatoes and bell peppers are evenly spread out. It's very common for other places to have the heavier ingredients float down to the bottom of the burrito. So you can rest assured you'll get a perfect bite every time. The last thing we tried were the bomboloni donuts; which, unsurprisingly, were also delectable! The tiramisu one was so intriguing because it has a little capsule of espresso on top so you can squeeze the coffee into the donut as you eat it -I made a bit of a mess with this but the taste was unparalleled. The passion fruit bomboloni is also amazing, and perfect for summer coming up! TLDR: 10/10 would absolutely recommend this cafe! read more

The Americano is delicious! It has a nice berry acidity and tastes a lot more interesting to me compared to standard espresso blends. I'll definitely be bringing my friends here for afternoon coffee chats. I also tried one of the frittata, burritos, and focaccias and they were all super yummy! So excited for this place to officially open to the public. All the staff is very nice and willing to answer any questions you have about the food and the space. The market looks perfect since we live in the building and always run out of milk or eggs at inconvenient times. My boyfriend and I are excited to try all of the desserts provided as well. The market has high quality items and some brands I have never seen before! This place will be perfect for a quick pick me up before work or if I am craving a sweet treat. I got the Fairview Fog and a Vanilla Bomboloni! I would have taken a photo of the bomboloni but my boyfriend devoured it before I could take a photo. Wish I had taken photos of the food & pastries we bought or even the aesthetics of the place. This review will be based from the coffee, dessert and food. We came in with a hungry stomach and anticipating what this place offers. Coffee-The oatmilk latte is a traditional latte. Dessert-The eye catching bomboloni was a must try since it was the first thing on display. We got the strawberry and for two people it was the perfect serving size. The flavor wasn't too sweet which is definitely a compliment! The gelato flavor pistachio was the BEST Food-For food we got the Focaccia and Red pepper Sandwich (Vegetarian) and we were both pleasantly surprised by how good and filling it was. Was expecting a typical average sandwich but it was amazing, will come back for sure to get both. Happen to meet the manager and service was very welcoming, which I deeply appreciate.
