Tl;dr: If you have a thing for clothes and want to experience the "best of the best" (in every…read moreregard), Jerry and Ivan at JB Clothiers are the guys to see. Period. From the first call to the final fitting - and their post-delivery followup - every aspect of my experience with them was aces. In too much detail: Absolutely fantastic in every regard - JBC isn't merely the finest tailoring Los Angeles has to offer - it's literally a "Destination Clothier." This is going to be a long review - but then again I had a really wonderful experience, and in so many ways, that I can't sum it up quickly. Personal background - I have 25 years' experience selling exotic cars to very high net worth clientele in Los Angeles, and I am very aware of a what a luxury experience looks and feels like. So I sort of walked in the door "loaded for bear." My other experiences had the veneer of luxury, but not the substance of luxury nor the quality of product. A glass of wine doesn't overcome the fact that the end result is a disappointment. Anyway - I could no longer find clothes "on the rack" that were made of fabrics I wanted (sport coats and suits in particular). I had tried two "made to measure" clothing stores (Suit Supply and Indochino) and been disappointed with the results, so I searched for a literal in-Los Angeles custom tailoring service (where I could consult *directly* with the tailor - not just an on-site rep for a tailor half a world away). After much deliberation, I made an appointment with JB. I must admit I was somewhat skeptical by this point, when I arrived for my first consult, even after all my investigation. The feel of JB Clothiers is EXACTLY what I was hoping to find when I walked in for my first consult. After meeting Jerry (the founder/proprietor) and his partner Ivan, I had great confidence that my research had paid off. The conversation about what I was looking for and how they could achieve it was quite in-depth (and I actually learned a few things about my taste). Jerry and Ivan suggested subtle ways of "expanding my taste envelope" while still well within my taste bandwidth. There are myriad choices to make - and with each one I was getting more excited to see the end result. The measuring process was thorough and precise, having me adopt different postures and re-measuring many times. I was there for the better part of an hour. About a month later, Jerry called to set up the first fitting appointment. I about died when I saw my coat for the first time. It's gorgeous and not so much a coat, as a garment, I think. The details are exquisite - and they are everywhere, beyond the special embroidery you'll be offered. It is quite literally a work of art. We tried it on, and made various adjustments, and I left not sure I'd be able to wait until it came back. Long story about how I Dunning-Kreuger'd the first alterations, which were literally put back on the 2d fitting. Sorry I wasted your time, guys. But by this time, I was so hooked on both the product and the experience, that I added a matching pair of slacks to the coat, turning it into a 2-Piece Suit. Going back the third time, I picked up the pants - they are not only gorgeous with the same attention to detail as the coat, but they fit me unlike any pants I have ever owned IN MY LIFE. They are utterly incredible. Fantastic! At the last fitting all of this was immediately and obviously worth every penny and every second of time. And admittedly, I'd added considerably to the time by the alterations I thought I wanted in the first fitting. I have tried this suit on with nearly every shirt/tie combo I can put together - it it so wonderful! This experience was very much a splurge for me - and I plan to do it again as soon as I can. Yes - I spent about 50% more than I would have for a Canali suit off the rack. But I got 5x the suit as a result. I'll never again waste money on clothing - what JB made for me is a lifetime investment, and no clothes I've ever had fit that description. Really not sure how to better convey my enthusiasm than to say I can't wait for the next time I decide to tread myself and add to my wardrobe. At the end of the day, the expenditure at JB will actually saved me in the long run - no more wasted money on clothes that are sorta "close enough" but never right. And no more wasted time trying to find them, either. Did I mention I love this suit? I love this suit! And I had a total blast along the way! Thanks guys!

This place is nice but maybe a little overrated…read more Jerry's not a bad guy and probably not a bad salesman. I thought I was coming in for a consultation, and I liked the fabrics and patterns we came up with, but he was disappointed that I was not ready to throw down $4,000 for the custom suit that day. (He convinced me that anything cheaper in his shop wasn't worth my time.) I can see why he likes to close the deal the day of. The more I thought about it, the less comfortable I felt throwing down than much for this suit... I had a few other reasons, too. Anyway, I sent a message to the store the next day, politely explaining why that I appreciated Jerry's time, but the shop wasn't for me. Jerry ended up calling me, and I wish I hadn't answered. He started trying to get me to get his cheaper stuff that had already talked me out of. He was pushy, dismissive of my reasons and all around unpleasant. I think they have some off the-rack suits available, too, and I believe they offer tailoring, but I am no longer interested. He'll probably respond to this and be dismissive again, but those are my two cents. He has a nice assistant. I won't pretend it's bad quality. Still three stars.

Had a wonderful time shopping at Glamour Closet with my sister who's getting married. Must shout…read moreout Amanda who helped us the whole way through to "saying yes to the dress" by the end of our visit! Parking / how we heard about this spot: West Hollywood with metered street parking after driving around side streets. This spot came up in our budget and of interest because of their off the rack model which we liked, browsing many different styles at once really appealed to us and the smaller size shop also felt less overwhelming. THE VISIT Saturday was walk in only and we arrived a couple minutes after opening and a separate party was already browsing. We were greeted warmly by Amanda who gave us the layout of the shop including cuts / styles, the 1k and under rack, and also some racks with plus size options. We were given some tips on picking sizes then clips to indicate which dresses we wanted to try and were left to browse with no pressure. Then the fun part - back to the mirror trying on area which has space for two brides, one area on each side for changing in and out of dresses and some seats for friends or family. There's a little pedestal the brides shared when trialing which is nice and the mirrors are handy. Amanda helped my sister in and out of her dress, clipped, spread the dress, suggested veils, and had helpful feedback for us to consider when thinking about alterations. There's also a selection of veils that she helped put on and recommend too! She was so patient and made my sister feel really comfortable for her first time dress shopping, she was very knowledgeable on the catalog they currently carry and was honest about what looked good or bad without pushing to sell anything. A bonus was that Amanda was really sweet how excited she was with us too! Really felt like a nice experience and kept us feeling excited for the upcoming wedding. At checkout, we got recommendations for alterations and also a handy list to use when contacting them of what needs to be done for the dress. We walked out with a nice opaque dress bag so no peeking, and a lovely veil packaged up inside as well. This as our first wedding dress shop stop and ended up not needing to go to any more! Highly recommended.

Shopping for a wedding dress is such a special and emotional experience, and because my mom wasn't able to be there with me to help choose my dress, I was honestly a little nervous about what the experience would feel like. The team at Glamour Closet was incredibly warm, patient, and accommodating. Of course, they could never replace having my family there, but they truly helped make the situation easier and made me feel supported throughout the process. They listened to what I wanted, helped me explore different options, and made finding the dress feel exciting and special rather than stressful. Ultimately, they helped make my wedding day and the memory of choosing my dress even more magical. Thank you to the entire team for making such a meaningful experience so wonderful!

I recently attended a nail event at Bloom in Bloom, which is located right next door to this…read moreCrouton store. During the event, a few of us were near the storefront, and the owner came out and told us we were not allowed to be on or near the property. What surprised me was that there were no customers inside at the time, so the interaction felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. Instead of seeing it as an opportunity to introduce people to the store, the approach was abrupt and dismissive. The tone alone made the situation uncomfortable. I understand everyone can have an off day, but the way we were spoken to felt disrespectful. I was also surprised by the pricing. Many items seemed extremely marked up, in some cases appearing higher than their original retail value, which defeats the purpose of shopping somewhere associated with deals. After reading other reviews, I'm confused because they don't reflect the experience I had. I'll be attending another event nearby soon, but honestly, I'm anxious about returning because of how we were treated. There are many other businesses in the area that offer both competitive pricing and welcoming customer service, and I would personally choose to support those instead.
