At the first fitting, Jerry proudly presented the finished suit and shirt, walking me through every thoughtful detail. He explained the stitching, pointed out how the trousers were subtly tailored at the hem to drape perfectly over the shoes, highlighted the custom embroidery, and even showed the sweat guards sewn into the suit--along with countless other details I would have never noticed on my own. His enthusiasm and pride in his craft were unmistakable, and it was clear that he genuinely cares about creating something exceptional for his clients. This place is nice but maybe a little overrated. Jerry's not a bad guy and probably not a bad salesman. I thought I was coming in for a consultation, and I liked the fabrics and patterns we came up with, but he was disappointed that I was not ready to throw down $4,000 for the custom suit that day. (He convinced me that anything cheaper in his shop wasn't worth my time.) I can see why he likes to close the deal the day of. The more I thought about it, the less comfortable I felt throwing down than much for this suit... I had a few other reasons, too. Anyway, I sent a message to the store the next day, politely explaining why that I appreciated Jerry's time, but the shop wasn't for me. Jerry ended up calling me, and I wish I hadn't answered. He started trying to get me to get his cheaper stuff that had already talked me out of. He was pushy, dismissive of my reasons and all around unpleasant. I think they have some off the-rack suits available, too, and I believe they offer tailoring, but I am no longer interested. He'll probably respond to this and be dismissive again, but those are my two cents. He has a nice assistant. I won't pretend it's bad quality. Still three stars. read more

JB walked me through the process and I pretty much went with all of his recommendations. It came out great. If I could change one thing I wish I had gone a little more slim fit on the pants. I also wish I would have asked for some sort of fabric waste tightening straps because over the night I wasn't eating and it became a little difficult to keep the pants up since Tuxedo pants don't come with with a belt. I have no words to describe what Jerry did for my family and I. I had recently lost my father and the process of laying my father to rest was a very difficult one for me. My father was sick and he lost a lot of weight and unfortunately his best suit didn't fit him anymore. He was very honest even about the "upgrades" that I thought about and explained to me that some were not worth it. I listened to him and me and my wife were so happy with the outcome. Excellent craftsmanship and best of all, I can lose and gain a couple of pounds, because they have a lifetime tailoring service (hopefully I won't need to go back though ^^)! There's a big difference between a custom suit and an off the rack suit (even after tailoring). I looked much taller and skinnier in the suit from JB! It's definitely not the cheapest suit, but you get what you pay for and you can feel it! Oh, and definitely try some of his whiskey collections while you're there.
