John is good. Really good. He led a comfortable creative process and his two tailors, who operate five feet away, built me something incredible. So do it. Buy his bespoke suit. Justify the cost by wearing it to your wedding - to dinner, a coffee shop, and the library if you have to. I think it's worth it for how brilliant Hayley and I felt on our best day. read more

Johnathan Behr - Men's Clothing Near Me - Los Angeles, California

An incredible tailor and designer. I was purchasing a bespoke suit for a wedding and wanted something unique but classic. I initially chose a "safe" pattern but Johnathan encouraged me to try something more unique. The result was an incredible design from a UK clothier that made the suit pop. I received nothing but compliments on the suit! Service was fast and Johnathan was cordial and friendly throughout the entire process. Highly recommend him for all your suit needs. read more

Johnathan Behr is a truly talented tailor. And I don't say that lightly or without experience. Having worked with a number of tailors in New York and London, I can truly say Johnathan and his team are the genuine article. They have perfectly executed two pieces for me; both were difficult and complex. Johnathan went above and beyond sourcing hard-to-find fabrics for some of the detailing and his deep knowledge of the craft really shown through in the final product. Whether you are the sort of customer who knows exactly what you want or one who needs a little guidance, I am certain that you couldn't be in better hands than Johnathan Behr Bespoke Clothiers. read more

Johnathan made what could have been an intimidating experience one of absolute joy, ease, and class. He balanced an attentive and respectful ear for what I wanted with confident, professional guidance. In short, he gave exactly what I wanted out of the bespoke experience: personalized service with a real artist. What I got out of it was better than I had even hoped for. I think he's absolutely worth what he charges and I'm eager to be able to work with him again. read more

Jonathan Behr saved our wedding! But first -- this man is an artist. His suits are truly exceptional. His passion is clear. His craftsmanship is unparalleled. And it just so happens, he's also a really nice guy. Initially, we made the mistake of ordering a suit from different bespoke tailors in town (NOT Jonathan) and we were told two weeks before our wedding that the suit wasn't going to be ready despite ordering it months in advance. These particular bespoke tailors (as many of them do we've come to learn) outsource the bulk of their labor to overseas countries and will only make minor adjustments themselves once the suit is shipped back for your fitting. (But not Jonathan! Every single part of the suit-making process is done entirely in-house with him and his team.) So, the reason behind the initial suit not being ready: it was stuck somewhere in production overseas. We called Jonathan after hours on a Saturday and much to our surprise, he answered! (And he was even on vacation at the time.) We explained our plight of having a suit-less groom two weeks before our wedding and he kindly (and calmly) agreed to help us. He got back from his vacation the following Saturday, which gave him exactly one week to make a custom suit from scratch. A tall order, indeed. But, lo and behold, he got it done! And moreover, he made the best suit ever! The fit, the fabric, the attention to detail (including an inside pocket with our initials and wedding date embroidered) -- all perfection. Thank you, Jonathan! (Written by Dave Brown's wife) read more

An amazing suit and a fantastic experience! I had a rough idea of what I was looking for. Jonathan took that and expertly guided me to suit that perfectly matched my style. The end product exceeded my expectations. The fit is incredible, it is the most comfortable piece of clothing I own, and the attention to detail is exquisite. I get more compliments in this suit than any other I own. Jonathan was a joy to work with each step along the way. I cannot recommend him enough. read more

Johnathan is amazing at what he does. I had shopped around many other places in LA that could make a tux. Johnathan's business and way of working felt different and very authentic. It was great seeing him and his team do their thing and make pieces that look incredible. I originally met him for a linen suit and a tuxedo for my upcoming wedding abroad. Johnathan was immediately a pleasure to work with. He is professional and at the same time easy going, which made the whole process fun. He pays attention to small details which I saw when doing each of the fittings. He made sure every detail of the suit was sitting well and fit perfectly. He even had design features that he put in the linen suit jacket to make it hold its shape. I've had other linen suits, and the one he made appears much more put together. The tuxedo he made also fits perfectly and looks amazing. I'm excited and proud to wear both of these at my wedding and look forward to showing them off to family and friends. Thank you, Johnathan. read more

It is always a great experience working with Johnathan and I can't see going anywhere else for a suit. Prices are very reasonable (its still a bespoke suit) and the fit and finish are the highest quality. Plus it is super fun to pick your fabrics and have something beautiful and unique! Any special occasions or just a few exceptional daily suits deserve a bespoke upgrade and Johnathan delivers. read more

For our wedding, my fiance suggested I get a suit made, which I'd never done. I am so grateful I did and that I found Jonathan. I would recommend him to anyone. First, there's the suit. It's just a beautiful piece of work. Everything -- the fabric, the fit -- exquisite. I'm 6'4'' and it's not easy finding clothes, let alone suits, that fit truly well. A friend at my wedding told me, "You look like you were born in that suit." My father, a tough critic who for years has had his own suits made by some of the best tailors in New York, was thoroughly impressed with mine. Second, there's the process. Jonathan is such an easygoing guy with the confidence that comes when you really know your craft. He made the whole experience a pleasure. I also quickly felt I could trust his taste 100%. He advised me on selecting a shirt, made the shirt for me, and helped me select a tie and pocket square. From start to finish, he guided me through the process. Third, there's the price. At Brioni or another comparable shop, I would have spent thousands of dollars MORE to get a suit off the rack -- not bespoke, not tailored from scratch. If you're on the fence, get off it and give Jonathan a call. You won't regret it! read more

Awesome experience. The only place I will go for suits again! I started working with Johnathan on a bespoke suit. He started off with guiding me on color selections, what's going to look good given my profession, skin tone, hair color, etc. Next came the in person measurements: Johnathan listened to my pinch points and took extensive measurements. I came back for an initial, fitting. In this meeting, he provided a baseline cut, and made adjustments. I came back twice, once more for a second round on the first cut of the suit to ensure a good fit, and then the final touches and pickup a couple days later. The suit is perfect. It fits perfect, the colors and fabric are amazing. The feel is beyond any "made to measure" suit I've had done. Furthermore, looking at me in one suit, Johnathan pointed out some of the weaknesses of the made to measure, and SHOWED me how his suit was refining the fit, and custom tailored for me. I have been complimented multiple times on the Johnathan Behr suit. It feels amazing. Wears amazing. It's perfect. But it was Jonathan's commitment to ensuring the fit was perfect, and not cutting any corners in terms of time or quality, that made the experience top notch. He could have rushed it and I wouldn't have really known. But ensuring I knew what we were doing and why, made sure that I was totally happy with the final product. Again, fantastic service and quality. Thank you! I will be back again! read more

In my previous 5-star review, I said I would be counting down the days until my next commission with Johnathan. Well, that day arrived... and then arrived again! He produces tailoring of the highest caliber, and I hesitate to write this review because I want him to be my secret. His business is an unbelievable gem for the city of Los Angeles. If you crave the Hollywood elegance of yesteryear, or are struggling to dress like how you envision, Johnathan is the answer. The garments look brilliant upon delivery -- and they look even better over time (a hallmark of bespoke). Truly an investment -- not just in your clothes, but in yourself. The bespoke experience is not just about the garments. It's about the personal relationship you develop with your clothes maker over time. With Johnathan, my taste in clothes, art, music -- as well as my knowledge of this city and it's history -- has grown tremendously. Quite simply, I've grown as a young professional navigating Los Angeles. I'd give more details, but I think it's time you start your own unique journey with him. You'll soon know what I mean, and you'll look great doing it. read more

I approached Johnathan with a far flung request: to find an olive colored fabric similar to one discontinued by a major suit maker. I contacted several other bespoke clothiers (Cad & Dandy, Huntsman, Greenfield, and Michael Andrews) with the same request, but were unwilling to spend time in finding the right color or texture of the fabric in question. Johnathan, however, rose to the occasion and expressed enthusiastic interest to helping me find the right fabric. He mailed several swatches to my residence in NY. Despite my alerting him that his first attempt was unsuccessful, he did not relent! He continued to investigate, and was successful on his second attempt! Once he found the fabric, I made another challenging request: create the suit during a three week long visit to Los Angeles. During a series of three visits Johnathan met my wife, and I learned about his passion for his vocation, his decades long collaboration with his tailors, and his love of travel to Spain (Asturias). His close attention to detail allowed him to identify areas to improve the suit during a final (third) fitting, which prevented him from providing the suit prior to my departure date. Nevertheless, Johnathan fulfilled his promise of mailing the suit to my NY address well ahead of my scheduled event! I have purchased several bespoke suits from Martin Greenfield, St. Laurie, and Michael Andrews, none of these prior experiences, compare to the genuine enthusiasm, care, and attention provided by Johnathan and his team. Until the day that he retires in Asturias, there will be no other suit maker I rather go to than Johnathan Behr. Thank you ever so much for helping me look so sharp! read more

I just had my wedding this past weekend and the compliments were flowing about how perfect my tux looked! Johnathan is the best there is. I went to probably 5-6 different bespoke shops and the moment I met JB, I knew he had to be the one who dressed me on the big day. We first met Pre-COVID, but as soon as the pandemic hit, he made sure to keep in touch. It was comforting to know that my tailor cared enough about how I was doing even though he had his own issues to deal with. He's very collaborative and works with you every step of the way to make sure you get exactly what you're looking for. The attention to detail and eye for what's fashionable is really one of a kind. Not only is his craftsmanship of the highest level, he's also someone who makes you feel like you're part of his family. I looked forward to every fitting as we would chat about football and places we'd visit in Europe. I consider him a friend and someone I'll continue to get my suits done with. Johnathan Behr - Tux turned out perfectly. Love this guy! - Men's Clothing Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Jonathan was able to peg my then fiance's preferences immediately after a short chat. My fiance is pretty clueless about menswear and was pretty averse to suit shopping, but was quickly put at ease when faced with Jonathan's expertise. Jonathan was highly communicative and made my now husband look impeccable for our wedding. My husband has hated every suit he ever put on, but with his new bespoke suit, he's perfectly comfortable thanks to Jonathan and his team's amazing skills. I would recommend anyone who has the means to get a bespoke suit made by Jonathan as it is well worth it to have all of your suit woes disappear in the hands of such a skilled team. read more

I was referred to Johnathan Behr, and what a fortunate recommendation it was! He made my first bespoke suit purchase experience a super cool one, making perfect suggestions for all the details that went into my incredible new suit. His shop space is awesome too -- decked out with inviting sophistication and jazz music playing in the background. You will not be disappointed in this prime professional clothier. Had Johnathan make a suit for my wedding. He knew the wedding date and prioritized my suit to make sure it was ready at least a week in advance. Over the course of maybe 4 or 5 visits, Johnathan was a true professional and a pleasure to deal with. Lots of fabric options, which he will help you navigate with both patience and eagerness. Lapels, button placement, etc are all up to you, but it's always great to get his expert opinion. Be warned - he isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for. Johnathan is an amazing craftsman with impeccable taste! I was looking for a special suit for my wedding in Italy and, frankly, it never crossed my mind to have a suit made for me. I had spent a good deal of time looking at many stores for suits (Barney's, Neiman-Marcus, etc.), but couldn't find anything that I really loved and also fit well. Then I met Johnathan and we talked about having a bespoke suit made and the benefits of measuring me so that it would fit like no other. I decided to go ahead and take the plunge. I can honestly say that it was one of the best decisions I have ever made! Although I had a rough idea of the kind of suit that I was looking for, Johnathan guided me through great style options and details, along with finding the perfect color and fabric. The outcome was pure perfection for the wedding!!! I loved it so much that I also ordered some custom shirts from him to complete the look. The suit fits like a glove and every time I wear it, I get a ton of compliments. Johnathan Behr - The perfect suit for the perfect day! - Men's Clothing Near Me - Los Angeles, California

My husband went to Johnathan for some help with his wardrobe. He had spent years working for a major corporation that encourages "casual dress" and so I realized that he only had clothes that really included band tee shirts, jeans and generally informal styles. He wanted to up his game and so I did some Google-fu, happening upon Johnathan's' website. I was immediately struck by the sense of style and class that the site presented and knew, without even having to meet Johnathan, that this was the clothier I wanted my husband to work with. Showing my husband the website, he jumped at the chance to meet Johnathan and talk about shirts and suits that would make him (a bigger guy) look as good as John Hamm or Flea! He's frequently in the LA area and it was no problem scheduling an appointment. Being from the UK, my husband is picky about suits and given he'd worked in such an informal place of work, he surprised me with his demanding nature when it came to the fabrics and attention to detail. I hadn't realized that in his earlier career, he'd worked in the financial district of London and so he really appreciates good looking, well-made suits. Johnathan met every single expectation. He elegantly took control of my husbands' wardrobe, interviewing him and learning about his career, his current role and his aspirations. They then looked over appropriate materials for the look of both the shirts and the suit, and again, surprising me, my husband went with a "classic" pin-stripe suit. What made this even more special was this suit was going to be the outfit he wore during his naturalization ceremony, and so it had to be perfect. Johnathan and his team were great. They listened to what he wanted, and made sure the fit was absolutely spot on. The shirts are great - excellent fit and quality, and the suit is beautiful. It takes 40 pounds off my husband, and he wore it to his naturalization ceremony very proudly, complete with small American pin. Clothing that fits you well translates to confidence. When you are physically comfortable in material that moves with, instead of against, you don't fidget or readjust. This means a great deal since he gives presentations quite often. Being so happy with his suit and shirts, he went back to Jonathan for a more 'summer time suit'. Jonathan came up with a stunning seersucker! This, again, was completely out of character for my husband but the end result was another amazing bespoke suit. Speaking of bespoke, I had no idea what it meant.. bespoke clothing is fabric personally selected, measured to you, cut to fit and sewn for you and you only. It's a very high end experience that is given by an incredibly nice and down to earth person. Such is the skill that Johnathan has that he was able to completely revamp the wardrobe of a casual, bearded Biker into a full on classic British gentleman. read more

I have been going to Johnathan Behr for years now. The level of craftsmanship and service he provides is impeccable. Bespoke is not just about a custom suit, it is about a rite of passage in some cases. There is a process that comes with bespoke, and that process is not something we get in today's society of immediate gratification, off the shelf, drive thru mentality. You have to wait for a bespoke suit or item of clothing, you may have to sit down and leaf through material and colour palette until you find something that suits you eye. You may get fitted up to 3-times to make sure everything is as it should be. This process takes time, and so does creating the garment. In our society where time has become a commodity this can be arduous, however a bespoke suit is worth the time and investment because it stays with you for life. I have had 3 custom bespoke 3-piece suits made, numerous blazers, and a pair of custom jeans, and slacks done. I have fabric in stock with Johnathan that I have yet to make up. You enter into a long term relationship with your atelier one that stands the changes to both your wallet as well as your waistline. I hope one day to take my 3-sons to Johnathan for their first bespoke suiting, that is the type of legacy he creates. read more

Just before the holidays I commissioned my third suit from Johnathan. By now, we are becoming good friends because he is such a fun and personable guy. We connect on music, cars and food, and JB has treated me to lunch on a couple of occasions when I needed to wait on a small update or just because he wanted to. Yet he is a consummate professional with an excellent eye for what works for me as an individual. The first time I went in, I had definite ideas of what I wanted. The second, he proposed a summer-casual seersucker which I had no idea I would love so much. But he was so right. So this third trip I let JB drive most of the way and he nailed it with a beautiful three-piece "Prince of Wales" with pale blue overcheck. I had always been afraid this might be too much for me but turns out it is the suit I think I look best in. There are a lot of ways to get a suit. If you want to get a good suit, a hand-made bespoke suit, it's not going to be inexpensive. My experience with Johnathan Behr is about so much more than the final suit. It's the ongoing relationship, knowing he's going to be there to fix things when I gain a few pounds or loose them, or - as I have done - change my mind about belt-loops vs braces vs side tabs. I'm not easy to fit but JB has always succeeded! He's always guided me but let me make the final decisions and been a perfect gentleman all along the way. For me, that's priceless. It does not get any better. read more

Let's cut exactly to the chase: If you are searching for the finest bespoke tailor in Los Angeles, your search is now over. That title belongs to Johnathan Behr. You are likely in the market for bespoke clothing due to the perfect fit and unimpeachable quality you can only receive from the best in that world. You will, without question, receive it here. Of the six garments I've commissioned, each one boasts an impossibly precise level of craftsmanship that is unrivaled by any ready-to-wear. However, it is Johnathan's aesthetic vision that elevates the entire experience to a stratospheric level. Very few people can produce garments of such quality, but even fewer can do so with the artistic imagination and deep understanding of his client that Johnathan effortlessly deploys. Not only will your suit be literally tailored to your frame, but its design will first be aesthetically tailored to your identity. Commissioning a suit from Johnathan is the best kind of collaboration: your ideas will be genuinely heard and integrated, but you will safely remain in the hands of a true master whose honest suggestions and seemingly instant solutions will build upon your preferences to create something sublime. Watching his mind at work is a real joy. As should be expected, this process is not inexpensive, and it is not for the impatient. However, there is no question that working with Johnathan is worth your time and money. Comparisons to Savile Row are not hype or a marketing gimmick - nowhere in Los Angeles will you find a tailoring house this skillful and astonishing. read more

Not sure all 5 stars reviews are reall. But I see some fake review on Googel. A Guy said salesman found a very suit for $100 ( see pics). Come on $100 you can't even buy a pice of fabric from Johnathan. Johnathan may need to spend more money to his marketing compant to let them write real "bespoke reviews" for him. Don't come to this shop to waste your money and time. Behr is not an honest person and not professional with his job, he always has his excuses. I went to him on Oct 8, 2019, it was the first meeting. I want to make a Bespoke suit for my Master's graduation. I found him online because of an article written by CNN that he made suits for Fifty Shades of Grey movie (can find it on his website too). At the first meeting, I told him I want the same blue fabric with the suit for Fifty Shades. He said "ok" then showed me a Huddersfield H7300 fabric, "it's this one." he said. He asked $3200 for a 2-piece suit. I was OK with the price, then he took my measurement. I paid $1600 for the first time. After I went home, I compared the color, but I found the color looks different with what I want. So, I sent some pics to him to double make sure if the color is correct. He replied, "I promise". Two weeks later I went for the first try. Once I saw the suit, I realized this was not the same blue fabric that we discussed. I argued with him and stayed in his shop for about 1.5 hr. After all the other customers left. He said:" let me tell you the truth. The fabrics were from the custom designer. I can only use my memory to find a similar color for you. If you want to change fabric, you need to pay $400". WHAT? It means I need to pay for his mistakes, and I also need to wait for 2 more weeks. Unbelievable! Behr lied to his customer! OKEY! EXCEPT FOR THE COLOR ISSUE, LET'S TALK ABOUT THE SUIT! Time goes to the day before graduation I showed this "Bespoke suit" to my dad. He pointed out some problems that the waist area and back area of the suit did not fit for me. So, when I came back to LA, I took the suit to him and told him the problem. He agreed that it should be better. I waited a week for my 5th try on. But the problem still there!!! I can see it very easily. But he said he can't find any problem! After my 15 mins explain. He finally saw it! In his own words, he has been making suits inspired by Savile Row for nearly 30 years. But he can't find out the suit not fit. OMG! And then he called his tailor who does all tailoring works for him. The tailor came to us and found out the waist part not flat because of too much fabric on the shoulder. When you tell people, who working in Bespoke industry you get a Bespoke suit for 6 tries on, they will be surprised. Anyway, after the 6th Try on, the waist area and the back area is flat finally. But last week when I wear my suit to visit my friend. He said my right sleeve shorter than the other. Then we measured the length from each thumb to sleeve. Yes, the right sleeve exactly shorter a quarter inch. Besides, another issue is when I seat in front of the desk, my arm was very tight. I found the reason is the armhole was opened too BIG! Are you kidding me? Behr cannot make fit suit after 6 times adjusts! Today (June 27, 2020) I am hesitating whether to meet him for a summer suit. Because he already gets all my basis, I think the second one will be better, I finally choose to trust Behr one more time. This time he asks $3800 for a new suit. I am trying to ask for a discount because the last suit has too many problems, such as short sleeves, big armholes, and several other mistakes. He agreed with me after he measured the suit. But he said he cannot make any adjusts and he won't give me a discount for a new suit. Guys READ HIS WEBSITE CAREFULLY he said "we will remake custom-made item if it cannot be adjusted to clients satisfaction. (see picture below) According to his website, he supposes to remake one for me, but I just want a discount for a new suit!!! He said to me, "you are a tough customer; we should not do business". He walked me out of his shop with a bespoke suit which right sleeve shorter than the other and with big armholes made by Johnathan Behr in the afternoon 6.27.2020. GUYS! THIS SHOP IS NOT FOR GENTLEMEN. Don't do business with dishonest people! Don't come to this shop! We have too many choices in LA with better quality and good prices. I concede I was slightly intimidated by Johnathan Behr's "serious tailor face" on his website. He's generous and friendly and a cool dude, and takes what could be an intimidating experience and turns it into a true pleasure. The suit and shirts I got from Jonathan fit beautifully, the fabric is gorgeous, and they constantly get compliments. I just had my first bespoke suit made by Jonathan. It was being made for my wedding. It took Jonathan and his staff of tailor's about one month to make the suit. We met every Saturday and progressively fit the suit. I have had suits made in Hong Kong and top designer off the rack suits tailored to fit me. Jonathan was engaging and easy to work with. The suit he made is the best fitting suit that I have. Period. I will have another made in the next few months. The price was not much more than a top off the shelf designer suit, yet you have a perfectly made suit for you - no question the way to go. Update: April 2015. Second suit complete. Really really exceptional. Not sure what I'd get on Seville Row that could be better. The tea and English accent, would be cool I Suppose. I am absurdly picky and this was just great. Where to begin? I've been going to Johnathan for all of my suiting needs since 2014 and have gotten a total of three suits from him. I met Johnathan while attending business school in Los Angeles. I was in need of a few suits as I was about to move to Manhattan to begin my new career on Wall Street. At that point I had one ill-fitting suit and very little idea of what I was looking for / needed. Johnathan has a keen eye for detail and style; you can see the wheels turning in his head as he contemplates various looks, patterns and cuts, diligently debating with himself internally until he makes his suggestions to the client. His shop is welcoming, simple and well-appointed. It's as though you've stepped off of Wilshire Blvd and been transported to a shop on Savile Row, where getting a suit is much more than a few measurements and you're on your way. It is an experience, a discussion and a partnership. Johnathan and I discussed various patterns, cuts, linings etc. as he discerned what exactly I was looking for while helping me along with suggestions drawn from his immense wealth of knowledge. Once we established the style and components of my first two suits, it was time for measurements. It is probably worth noting that I am an incredibly hard individual to fit. I'm a former professional football player and am still fairly large (6'4" and roughly 275lbs), with awkwardly long arms and a relatively narrow waist. I've attempted to have custom shirts and suits made before but most tailors have struggled with fitting my odd dimensions while still allowing me to look stylish and well-fitted. This is where Johnathan and his team really shine. I've never had a jacket fit me so well. It's form-fitting but not overly tight, stylish with a nice silhouette but not stretched. They truly did an amazing job and I will certainly be getting all of my suits, tuxedos, jackets and whatever else I can from them moving forward. I cannot say enough about the quality of my suits and the experience of working with Johnathan and his team. If you're in the market for a truly bespoke suit, I highly recommend giving Johnathan Behr a call. read more

Johnathan was wonderful to work with! I had been wanting a custom suit for my wedding, and he walked me through the process, made me comfortable with every decision, and helped me look as good as I possibly could for my special day. From start to finish, he was reachable, open, and helpful. I know that I will wear the suit many times over the rest of my life, and each time I do I will remember Johnathan. If I ever need any more custom clothes, I will absolutely return. read more
