I hadn't heard of the shop before visiting, and we went because there was a sale. They apparently had some water damage in January and just had opened back up... and wanted to release some of the damaged and unfinished clothes for discounted prices. First I need to mention that the management and owner were standing outside and greeting everyone, chatting with them. I heard the full story of how this place came about, and the struggles they went through during covid and the rain. Just a great group of people running the shop and you really root for them to succeed. I bought two t-shirts, a sweatshirt and a hat. It has become my favorite pieces of clothing. The shirts are comfortable but thick material, and don't hug you in an unflattering way. They fit so well. I will definitely come back once they have a new round of inventory to check out their stuff.

This store was such a delight and especially the owner Michelle who was a living doll! I saw these amazing checkered pants in the window and just had to go in. The prices at Melrose stores can be very, very expensive or a good deal. I wouldn't say there are good bargains to be fair but you will find things out of this world. Typhoon was packed to the rafters with amazing fashion. Michelle had a cute area to try things on and a cute couch for my daughter to wait, she didn't care for these things. They had these absolutely killer coats but they were $600, so I wasn't too tempted and I have tons and tons of those. This year had been all about purging shoes, clothing and coats. I would feel awful to leave a ton of stuff behind for my daughter to have to deal with in the future. Michelle was so lovely and was able to guess my size pretty quickly and help me try on different pants. I knew I was getting the checkered ones for sure but what color was hard to decide. I am Mad for Plaid! Always have been always will be. My girlfriends husband said I looked like "Adam Ant" whom ever that is, some punk rocker I guess... The best part of this shopping experience was when my daughter and I were a couple blocks away ; I hear Michelle calling my name. I had left another package of vintage t-shirts in her store. I mean she was so out of breath and so sweet to do that! I think she was working alone that day, so she probably had to lock up and catch us. Those t-shirts were very pricey too. I would have been heartbroken to have lost them because we went into a dozen stores on Melrose. I told her when I returned to LA I would be back for sure! I went from looking like a mom, (his words and I agree), to looking like a rock star. I am not kidding here. His beautiful red-head assistant was quite the help, too. She found me shoes, shirts, and ran back and forth while Cosmo decided what was good for my body type. When I didn't particularly like a shirt, it was tossed aside and a new one brought for me. Did I NEED another pair of jeans? No. Did I need another denim shirt? Again, no - but it just felt right. Can't wait to get the jeans hemmed - many thanks to Enoch and the overall MF vibe in there.
