The BEST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!! Cosmo is quite the entertainer and can change how a woman looks with three throws of a scarf and a tussle of hair. Seriously. I went from looking like a mom, (his words and I agree), to looking like a rock star. I am not kidding here. His beautiful red-head assistant was quite the help, too. She found me shoes, shirts, and ran back and forth while Cosmo decided what was good for my body type. When I didn't particularly like a shirt, it was tossed aside and a new one brought for me. She made me feel like I still had "it." The experience from this shop is worth every penny. Cosmo is a character, that is true, and he knows it. That's how he is. If you are insulted easily or wear your feelings on your sleeve (no pun intended), don't bother going in here. BUT...if you are open-minded, enjoy great entertainment, like looking wonderful, and have a few hundred bucks on you, this is your place. When I get rich, I am "buying" Cosmo. It's been a year and I still love my jeans! Never thought I could squeeze into a 25" They fit like a glove and they are so comfy! They make you feel like your on the runway! This was my first time in this unique and amazing store, and I'm still smiling from the experience a day later. I live in Los Angeles but don't get to Melrose as much as I would like. There is just so much to look at , and the most unique and creative clothing I've seen in one store. I was honestly going in to buy a pair of black pants, but ended up leaving with a lot more. Both Thu (pronounced Too) and Scott were absolutely so wonderful and accommodating. It's not like the type of store where you will be followed around while you are browsing. They make you feel so welcome and are very happy to recommend and suggest clothes based on what your style is, but they are not pushy either. I felt very comfortable for the entire time I was in the store. I will definitely be back. I came down to Melrose to go to a bunch of stores and this was the first one on my list. Needless to say, I did not go to BAPE next, because I was so happy with Flasher and what I bought that I immediately cast aside all the other shops on my list lol. Please don't judge by their website because they do not begin to show the hundreds of well-made, and unique items they have on the racks in the shop. They have many designers you would find in Neiman Marcus, but at a better price and with the quick wit of Scott, the man in charge :) read more

If you're not ready for a full on tornado of crazy, this isn't the store for you! After checking out the Fairfax flea market one Sunday, we hit the shops on Melrose and stumbled into Flasher. The clothes are edgy and hot and a little rock n roll, though a little pricey. But don't let that stop you, because even if you wanted to leave this shop, once you step one foot inside you are sucked in by the two sales people's vortex. I wish I could remember their names, but I suffer from self-diagnosed early on-set Alzheimer's. Their energy was scary at first, but infectious, drug fueled? Who knows, who cares, it was intense and fun and ultimately you will leave with something, they will make sure of it. Though I normally detest high pressured sales people, like an annoying chic at the Gap (example only) looking under your dressing room door asking 'How's it fit? Can I get you another size? What's going on in there?' - those types I want to mace in the face. However, this experience was so insane it crossed the glass ceiling of annoying right on over into this never never land of charming. Or maybe I am just a fool for flattery. Before I knew it I was in the dressing room, being handed one thing after another after another and another to try on. The dancing, the compliments, the energy, what can I say, we walked out with two amazing dresses and a top hat- yes a top hat. We haggled the price down a bit, got a good deal and all in all it wound up being the highlight of our afternoon. After all, it's not everyday that a dancing fairy girl and an insanely humorous guy with a puppy dress you up like a Barbie doll and flatter the pants off of you, or the money out of your wallet I should say. I purchased a jacket at Flasher on Melrose Ave. yesterday that was marked with a price of $690. The sales girl offered it to me for $400 after making a call to the owner 'Tui'(?). The prices in this store are not as marked. I got home and wanted to investigate my awesome new jacket. I found it for so much less online... granted prices are usually always lower online. I went back today and was told that what I had purchased had been in their store for 6 months (as per the guy at the register) and they bought it for $238. I asked for a refund and they would not budge. This store will not refund you what-so-ever. They will only give exchanges or store credit. read more

Warning: If you're not a fan of in your face (overly friendly) attitude and sexual innuendo, then this isn't your place. It all started innocent enough, we were walking down Melrose Avenue and saw the store, nothing interesting in the window but my curiosity got the best of me. We walked in and it was pretty quiet...then out of the glittery curtains came Cosmo. Before I could say anything I ended up in the dressing room with combat boots, demin jeggings, and the two MJ shirts I had in my hand (how did he know my size without asking me?). My friend as well got an instant makeover and we couldn't stop laughing and joking with Cosmo. (In one convo we had, he asked if my friend's boobs were real, and he said he'll hook us up with a discount and we didn't even have to sleep with him LOL!) I ended up getting the shirt and my friend got the boots at an extreme discount! The place is a bit pricey but it's well worth it! Bottom Line: If you're not easily offended and love shooting the breeze and get some really cool clothing, then this is your place. read more

I'm old. I'm jaded. I rarely go out and rarely spend money on myself. But... I had a birthday. The second I walked in, I remembered Cosmo from the pair of lambskin pants he sold me twelve years ago. I have stylists and designers as friends and, I'm not kidding, none of them are better than he is. You know how some nights you go to a club just to window shop and other nights you go packing? Bring protection, because you're going home with something in this store. I bought everything he put on my body. He didn't try to mangle me into something too young, he didn't try to fit me into something three sizes too small and then lie about how fabulous I looked, he got my style at a glance and fixed me up with an entire outfit that was perfect, yet nothing I would have found on my own. I want Cosmo for my very own. Then when you add Evan into the mix, nice sweet candy for an old cougar, well.... I'd like him too for my very own. I spent more than I planned and don't have one iota of buyer's remorse. For me, that's saying something. read more

Ok, my boyfriend and I happened to pull up at a meter outside this place when we decided to do a little manic splurging (we were having a bad day). I saw the Nikki Minaj corset-tutu amazingness with rocker-esque patterns and sparkly, shiny glitter out front and ran into the store gasping with glee, knowing goddamn well I couldn't afford a single thing in there! I was wrong. Out pops Cosmo dressing my 6'1" 190lb, Mid-Western all american boyfriend flawlessly in clothing I was too scared to buy him but KNEW He'd look great in. Then he starts on me, and I'm like "I really don't have any money! This is his day really.... OMG I'd totally dress like this if I had money." "Oh honey, you don't need money, we'll give you a discount. You've got such a great look, look it's such an upgrade!" I was in love with everything both of us put on. Cosmo knows his sizes, and can look at someone and dress them fabulously within their style. What I loved is that while the clothing is a bit pricey for me, it wasn't SO unreasonable and we got a discount. The clothing looked so awesome, but similar to a lot of the other things on Melrose, however this stuff is WELL MADE. These clothes were NOT going to fall apart like some of the $30 tops I find on that strip, they were destructed, high quality (go figure!) We ended up getting two "leather" jackets, two pairs of awesome combat boots, a scarf, and a great pair of mens jeans. I'm generally not a fan of people being all in my face when I'm shopping, but this was, as Cosmo put it an "Oprah Makeover." It was super fun, and he wasn't real pushy about us buying everything we tried on. That is officially my favorite parking meter on Melrose. read more

Wow!! Wow! Everything all the five star reviews have said. I have never had a shopping experience like this before. I walked in to just have a quick looking and of course the sales girl (I forget her name she only works weekends tho sorry) immediately asked gave me a quick walk through of the store. I mentioned the kinds of clothes I was into and BOOM she was picking stuff out left right and center. Everything she picked out was amazing and exactly what I liked, they have good eyes for what looks good on you. And of course I got honest comments for the items I wore. I am from out of country and I mentioned things I was going to do while in the city, she called up people she knew to give me tips and advice on other stuff. Full of lots of fashion secrets, this was like having a personal shopper plus. Sooo friendly!! She was looking online for things they didn't have in the store and just went above and beyond her job. It seems all the staff are of this nature. I even tried tipping her at the end, which she refused to take. At the end I was able to get a bit of a discount as well, there was no pressure to buy anything I had at least 10 items picked out for me and I only bought two. I will be back before I leave after seeing how much room I have left in my luggage. This is rocky edgy wear, so many things to look through but they will help you, this has to be one of best customer service experiences I have ever had in the world (I travel quite a bit). I never tried using yelp for shopping but this has begun my quest to use it. I was extremely happy with my purchases and what I paid for them. Keep up the awesome work everyone! read more

I've been going to Cosmo since he had a little store across the street called Cosmo's in 2005. He is still the same Cosmo til this day.. Shopping at his shop which is Thrasher now is always AN EXPERIENCE. Sometimes I have to prepare myself for the high energy before I walk in. But once you walk into the store it's a blast always laughs, loud music,dancing & the best part is you get to play dress up with Cosmo! He makes you feel like a superstar by within minutes. He always has the best of the best when for anyone who likes to stand out from the norm. I usually don't like to tell people about him because I like to keep him to myself like my little diamond in the rough. Does that make me soo LA? Ha I don't know.. But I do know he has helped me stand out & express myself over the years to make bitches hate! ha Go in the store you will thank me later! We were cruising the street looking for dresses for ball. We walked up and back down the street looking at cute stuff with outrageous prices. Most of the stores had the same items and probably the same stuff you can get in the alley but I didn't want to take my kids there so we went to Melrose. We walked in and met the best salesperson ever, Cosmo (the Queen of Melrose). We told him we were just LOOKING for a dress for prom and he popped right over to the rack and started pulling items for my girls to try on. He guessed their sizes and pushed them into the dressing room. He felt like an old friend playing dress up. You could tell he loves what he does and yes! Cosmo does it well. WE FOUND THE DRESS and some other outfits thanks to him. We were just looking, but Cosmo pulled such great pieces that we couldn't resist because we looked so damn good. Just discovered this shop in melrose and I live right next door to it. Glad I walked into this store, saves me time instead of online shopping looking for designers like KTZ then having to have the clothing shipped all the way from Milan Italy. They have tons of high end designer brands and it's amazingly well made, which I don't mind spending my hard earned cash on. The owner Scott is great and will cater to exactly what your looking for, you can tell he really cares about his customers asking questions and keeping me updated on new products that are coming in. What an amazing store! One of the few unique businesses on Melrose that takes risks and reaps from its' own innovation. A lot of the items are concept pieces that the store owner, Scott designs himself! They all look fantastic and the prices are so fair! Not to meantion they all have the same clothes and accessories in all the stores. Flashers is def a breath of fresh air honty boom boom! Everything in there is unique in style and made very well. High quality fabric and the customer service is impecable! Trust me, I'm an artist and I ALWAYS have to buy clothes 24/7 for shows, photo shoots, auditions, honey u name it i have to buy it! The great thing about Flashers is the owner/designer... Cosmo!!! He is a diamond and He has helped me come up with look after look for some very important shows and events. Some of the most important ones of my career! He helped develop my style as an artist and i know for a fact he's helped a lot of these celebrity divas running around here. I wouldn't give them ONE STAR if it were an option. The Absolute worst customer service experience in my 25 years of existence!!!! Made a purchase over the phone, I purchased the dress at $291.86. spent an additional $4.00 shipping it back, since it did not have the embellishment that i was charged for. Which is a grand total of $294.86. Was promised alterations since it would not be ready before my birthday and after waiting 6 weeks after original delivery date, I was reimbursed $25.00 on the 16th of March for Flasher's poor customer service after I had to negotiate with them why a reimbursement was necessary. After failure to deliver the dress after a 3rd attempt I spoke to Evan via phone explained my disappointment with the customer service, between the falsification of the product not being fully completed, since it did not come with the embellishment originally as it should have. Discussed disgust for Flasher over charging of shipping and handling (promised the item was going to be expedited but when i received the initial package it was ground shipped for $15 less than i payed for) that was never reimbursed or acknowledged. Discussed how I was lied to about the pricing of the dress, because they told me they would be giving me a discounted price on the dress, however, the price of the dress was indeed the same price it was 2 months prior. Discussed how infuriated I was that they lied about completion, shipping and gave me the run around on 3 occasions all while in possession of my payment in full, and requested that the dress should be sent to me at no charge at this point. Evan replied that the best thing that he could do at this point is reimburse me for the dress. I accepted. read more
