He was honest, on time, and reasonably priced. He also tested everything to make sure there were no leaks before finishing, which gave me peace of mind knowing the problem was taken care of. It's not always easy to find someone you can trust to do the job right, but Corey was great to work with. I would definitely recommend him to others, and I plan to use Reliance Development and Construction for future projects around my home, including window replacements. Very happy with the service!

I've used Reliance Development and Construction several times before and have always loved their…read morework. They did my kitchen and den floors, and both turned out beautifully. I also had an issue in the past that they resolved, which I appreciated. However, my concern is their customer service and response time. A minor two-day repair ended up dragging on for weeks. More recently, I tried to schedule work for my bathroom and hallway floors. I reached out to the person I had been communicating with and received no response. I then scheduled an appointment through their website, received a confirmation email, but no one showed up. I called and left a message with no response. I gave it another chance and scheduled a second appointment online. Once again, no one showed up. I called several times, but no one answered, and the answering machine kept coming on. The quality of their work is good, but the lack of communication, missed appointments, and poor customer service are very frustrating. What is the purpose of offering online scheduling if no one shows up? They really need to improve their customer communication and follow-through.

Dan later answered additional questions I had then adjusted quote. The installer, Carlos, looked at the actual site conditions then discussed various options (like spacing of posts, how far to set posts from edge of patio cover, where to put downspouts, etc.) with me beforehand. Every day, Carlos would keep me updated as to the work being done. Their electrical, Mike, installed the lights, outlets and controller exactly where(& how) I wanted them. It was not some "cookie cutter" install off a pre-set plan. Things were installed the way my family & I wanted. Brittany in office kept me updated on permitting process, scheduling, inspection, etc. Initially had company install a pair of attached to house, solid (& insulated) patio covers (at kitchen & by living room). Family was so pleased with finished patio covers that we had Rooms come back and install a 24' x 13' standalone, solid, insulated patio covers outside bedrooms. Carlos made all 3 patio covers blend together. Mike wired all the lights (8 in the initial patio covers & 8 more in the standalone patio cover) so that all are controlled be a single dimmer switch. Needed to have some concrete work done under the patio covers and nearby. Rooms' recommended concrete people, James Austin Concrete, did excellent work and coordinated with Rooms for minimum disruption to patio installations. Initially called 6 companies (all local 4 star+ on yelp) for quotes. Rooms was 1 of 2 that was willing to go through the permitting process with the City. A 3rd wouldn't give me a quote because I wanted the patio covers to be permitted. The other 3 companies said that because the existing wood, open lattice patio covers had been permitted (in 1989), a new permit was not needed. Don't believe them. Big difference between open lattice wood patio covers and solid, Alumun patio cover. Plus requirements change over time. Turned out that the required dimensions for the posts' concrete footings almost doubled in size (in all 3 directions). Getting a permit means everything is built to meet City requirements. Only downside is long wait (13+ weeks) for City to approve each of the 2 permits. Several neighbors have already asked about Rooms. Even the city's building inspector asked for Rooms contact info. He wants a patio cover(s) for his place and was impressed by the work Rooms did for mine.

They did things professionally and had all the permits approved. The permit approval and delivery of materials took about six weeks but this was expected and was explained upfront. Ultimately we used a different contractor to complete our roof, but were grateful to Gino for his assistance and willingness to get a quote out to us. TL;DR: A promising new chapter thanks to Grayson!…read more I originally left a one-star review after a very disappointing experience with Rick. However, I want to recognize Grayson, Rick's son, who reached out the very next day after I posted my review. He has been genuinely apologetic, responsive, professional, and proactive throughout multiple conversations. He has made a sincere effort to address our concerns and rebuild our trust, and I am very appreciative of how he has treated our family. I look forward to updating this review as the process continues. UPDATE: Grayson has made a genuinely positive impression. I want to start this update by giving credit where credit is due. Grayson reached out to me the day after I posted my original review. He left a sincere, apologetic voicemail, and we have since spoken multiple times. What impressed me most was his approach. Grayson asked what it would take to make our family feel positive about our experience with his company, explaining that this is his goal for each and every customer. Our conversations have focused on finding a constructive path forward. He has been attentive, responsive, and willing to engage with our concerns rather than dismiss them. After how frustrating the original experience was, this was a genuinely welcome change. Grayson will be taking over the company soon, and I sincerely hope this level of professionalism, accountability, and customer care is representative of the direction he wants to take it. He deserves recognition for making the effort to reach out and work toward a resolution. I will update this review as things progress. ORIGINAL EXPERIENCE: Why I initially left a one-star review During a door and window installation at my mother's home, the crew knocked her Starlink panel off a table beside her Traeger smoker. Fortunately, the Starlink wasn't damaged, but we immediately noticed that a knob on the smoker had been completely sheared off. My family had recently used the smoker, and it had been fully functional before the crew arrived. I called Rick that same afternoon. He initially accepted responsibility, assured me he would make things right, and offered $150 off our nearly $5,000 project while promising to arrange the repair. I specifically explained that I did not have time to manage the repair myself, and he agreed his company would handle it. The following day, Rick reiterated by text that his crew was apologetic and that the company would take care of the repair. Unfortunately, after repeated follow-ups and weeks of delays, the situation changed dramatically. Eventually, Rick disputed responsibility, questioned our account of what happened, and refused to cover the repair. He characterized the smoker as old and rusty and suggested the repair wasn't worth the expense. This was particularly frustrating because he had initially accepted responsibility and committed to resolving the issue. I ultimately spent hours contacting Traeger and researching repair options myself. Traeger confirmed that the sheared component could not simply be glued back into place and helped me locate the replacement part. I paid $160 for a replacement temperature controller box and received a $450 quote for a handyman to travel to my mother's home and complete the repair. The financial cost was frustrating, but the larger issue was the way the situation was handled. We expected accountability after an accident, especially after the initial promise to make things right. Instead, we experienced weeks of follow-up and a complete reversal of the original commitment. We had been considering this company for a substantially larger project, and this experience seriously undermined our confidence. WHERE THINGS STAND NOW My original experience with Rick remains an important part of this story. At the same time, Grayson's subsequent outreach and efforts deserve to be recognized on their own merits. I believe it's fair to acknowledge both experiences, and I intend to continue updating this review as the next steps unfold.
