Another Canadian grocery store. This one was pretty nice but a little more expensive on some items. We just bought pop & snacks for our video game night. The employees were a lot nicer here than at Metro, which is where we usually go for groceries. For some reason, I can't seem to remember very much about this store, except the pop was expensive. Like this store but wish it has at least one self checkout. Friendly staff who have worked there for years and know their stuff. Great hot food and deli section for lunch/dinner if you don't feel like cooking. Seafood always fresher than other stores I have shopped at and good variety in condiment section. read more

I want to reach my target of shopping at least 5 different Air Miles Rewards businesses in 2018 and happened to be in the area; this is it! Read lots of reviews about this place so it's also a fact verification mission about whether it's...?...an excellent store, has really good sales, a great deli but manned by staff requiring refresher training on great customer service, opened 24 hours... just to mention a few things. Parking is free for Sobeys customers; other pay and display via a payment machine at the road entrance. It is a nice store with in store deli (...no issues here when I asked for roast beef), bakery, and other departments with helpful staff. I am lucky enough to have a few grocery stores in my neighbourhood -- this Sobey's being one of them. It's not a huge store but it has all you need. Great hot /cold takeout area - including some great roast chicken, sushi, sandwiches and other options. Good deli counter and a full bakery area. This store has gone down hill over the years. During the pandemic, I found it the most disorganized of all the grocery stores in getting people in and managing the in- store line ups. There didn't seem to be anyone there who would take ownership of ensuring customers knew where to stand which inevitably created chaos. And I have been in the store several times recently and the service is poor. One time, I had to wait for the staff at the deli counter to finish their private conversation( which was complaining about people they work with) before they even acknowledged my presence. Today the Peameal bacon I picked up didn't have a price tag on it. The cashier told me it was $12.99 - she said she knew this because another person had purchased one earlier and it had not price on it as well. (Perhaps after the initial one had no price tag, someone in the meat department should have gone and checked the others) however, the price on the shelf said $7.99. The cashier called for a price check twice. But her call was not answered; another cashier called on her behalf and they answered that call promptly. That shows a huge lack of respect for the cashier as well as myself and all the people in line behind me that were forced to wait. There was no apology for the inconvenience - in fact I was made to feel as if I was the one at fault. Generally I find the staff there act like the customers are more of an inconvenience- there are many more grocery stores in the area which I will frequent instead of Sobeys. read more

This Sobeys has improved vastly over the last couple of years in all areas except one... the deli counter staff. I was standing at the counter for a solid 2 minutes making eye contact with staff working in the hot food area..yet no one came to serve me. Finally one of them yelled to another that they had a customer... it was then she VERY SLOWLY AMBLED out from behind a wall with a look on her face like she was doing me a favour... she went over to get gloves moving slower than a sloth, looking at me the whole time like I was interfering with her day. I told her to forget it... it was obvious she didn't want my business. This is not isolated...the service at the deli counter is abysmal. What has happened to customer service? I don't like this grocery store. I found it dirty and unpleasant. The prices are extremely high. I think, I'll never come back again.

There is a big change here at this store as of July 1st they will only be open until midnight and not 24 hours

Sobeys is one of those places with great potential that never seems to get realized. They were doing well and made a good effort at about the time they got Jamie Kennedy to be spokes person. The organics increased and the stores were clean. Not any more. I've been in better looking barns. The organic stuff they have is very inconsistent and makes for frustrating shopping. I have shopped here several times and find the organic fruit, vegetables, milk and yogurt I want. The quality has been good but the selection limited. It's a small store. But for basics I am always pleased. I'll be back! read more

I had a very bad experience at Sobey's. They were good deal on stripper and it looked good it looked like they were well marbled but the deal was if you buy two get one free. They were selling for $14 a pound which is absolutely ridiculous but you get the third one free. This was their promo. I misunderstood I thought it was two-for-one so I picked out to pretty good looking steaks I got to the cash and they corrected me you have to buy two get one free there was a owner of the store right behind me in which he told me the same thing. So he ran himself and got me a brown tissue state that means it's the first cut and if that vein through the middle of gristle I'm going I don't want to get in an argument so I took it. You could not chew the steaks they had gristle completely through them. So I thought it was just the first one no all three are the same so in my mind and in my opinion my opinion only Sobey's has the worst redmeat I have ever had read more
