Google maps revealed that this grocery store is a short walk from the cruise terminals, though you have to walk away from it a bit because of the railroad tracks. We found displays of maple syrup but had to ask for help finding the maple candy. It was in the bakery department and there was only one option but it met our need. There is plenty of parking for those with cars.

Then lower their prices by a fraction of what was raised just so they can act like they're doing us a favor. Highest prices for food in eastern Canada AND the US eastern seaboard. We are poor as dirt here but that doesn't stop them from keeping their prices as high as possible for as long as possible. Shop at walmart, let all their over priced meats rot on the shelves (as they are, just wait a day and 90% of the meat will be 50% off and likely rotten the next morning but they'll gladly sell it to you) Personal peave: Every shopping cart sounds like a dump tuck full of sheet metal because they refuse to service them as it would cost money and might make the whole experience slightly less horrific. If you let a clerk know about a huge spill people are walking all over they'll audibly sigh and roll their eyes at you.

The fruit and vegetable section is fairly large and selection is usually pretty good. Bakery and bread goods host far too many delicious temptations. Checkouts usually move quite quickly. The store is, for the most part, laid out in the order I expect. Some important tips: * It's always busy at this Superstore. Al. Ways. I don't know why but it is. * It's a grocery store. If you're looking for a wide variety of Joe Clothing or other stuff, head over to the gi-normous Portland Street location. * It's parking lot is always full. You should expect that you're not going to get a spot right next to the door. * It's got a wine shop but that's it in terms of liquor. * If you're taking transit, there's only one bus: the #62 which has an unusual schedule. Make sure you know it before you head over.

These things are annoying but what happened today was quite upsetting. The product I was purchasing was on sale, but the deal was you had to buy 2 to get the sale price. As it happened there was only 1 left. I would gladly have bought the 2 items to get the sale price but they didn't have 2. Is that really my fault? Should I have to pay the price for their inability to keep the shelves stocked. It may seem like a small thing to some but in these times of rampant inflation every penny of savings counts.

Plenty of parking and has other stores (Lawton's, Kent, All Yoga) close by to interest me. The store is clean and fairly well organized. I could get into the poor produce offerings but all Sobey's in my experience suffer the same fate. Lots of choice around all regular grocery items. They have a pharmacy, natural food and other offerings. My review is based on a series of shopping outings there. I am a reluctant grocery shopper so any chance for some levity is welcome. I routinely chat while getting during checkout as standing there blankly staring at someone using a scanner seems ridiculous. Do I ask them to recite the first three pages of Pride and Prejudice - no, but a "Hey, how's it going? Busy today?" conversation kinds keeps the awkwardness at bay and honestly kills time. So, how was Sobeys? They weren't terrible but they were not fantastic either. I don't think management understand that the last impression an individual has is during the check-out process. So a marginally cordial but completely unenthused staff member just kills it for me. Do I expect a juggling act? Nope, but a smile and at least an attempt to be nice works lots. See this is why I do self-checkouts... If the person scanning is not happy - I only have myself to blame.

They even got into my bread and laid droppings. Ive gotten so much rotten fruit from this store (i also seen bugs or worms crawling in the produce section. It really grossed me out.) this business also has horrible customer service.(the employees are rude and they don't help out with anything they sit on there (pardon my language) asses all day and don't do shit ( i had went to get cookies from the bakery and there was hair in them and when i went to ask someone about it they said " fuck off deal with it yourself you old saggy bitch." I felt very offended. I then asked to talk to the manager and they said "i am the manager bitch you big fat saggy old lady monkey." I ran out the store hysterically. I cried in my car on the way home thinking about the things they said, it really made me never wanna go back.) also I think the store needs maintenance to make the environment a better and cleaner place for your citizens (for instance the roof was leaking brown most likely rust. I only had noticed this because i felt something grasp the top of my head and i felt it and it was wet and then i looked up and it was rusted with water dripping everywhere and it seemed like nobody cared.) overall i think we need a new building, employees ... etc.

And even the most vulnerable people need groceries, so it seems reasonable to think that a grocery store might be more cautious about a public health emergency than some other businesses. Masks are not required in this store, and haven't been in months. Most people in the store don't wear masks, including some of the employees. Nothing is done anymore to enable people to keep some distance between themselves and others. What finally pushed me to write this review is that, when I went a few days ago, there were people fundraising for something at the exit. None of those people were wearing masks, and their positioning at the exit made it impossible to avoid them. Just terrible handling of an ongoing crisis.
