Although this Superstore location is nice, I don't find it to be anywhere as nice as the Superstore in Dartmouth by the Bedford Place Mall.. It just doesn't seem quite as organized, clean or well stocked.. Another thing is that with so much competition in the area from Walmart, Target and Costco, it leaves little reason to come here. Yet judging by how full the parking lot usually is, they must be doing something right..something I havent thought of yet.. Or perhaps just out of old habit.. In any case, I only come here as one of my last resorts when I'm searching for a particular item and have tried all the other grocery chains already. They tend to carry more international food grocery items than other stores, so that is a plus. The place isn't bad per se, but I can't really think of all that many redeeming qualities when compared to the competition.

This Atlantic Superstore is located right in the heart of Bayer's Lake Shopping. Although this is a very convenient location for people, I have never really gone out of my way to shop here, even though I am in the park a lot. The store is large ,does not carry a huge selection of housewares or clothing by Joe, if that is your thing. The store is always busy because of the location. I will say I bought our cell phone here and the staff was very nice assisting me.

Shopping here is like experiencing a slow train wreck. Service slow. Staff is half asleep. I hate going here but it's close to home.

Superstore points card sucks . Spent $187 no points, second time spent $122 still no points. False advertising as far as I am concerned.

Google maps revealed that this grocery store is a short walk from the cruise terminals, though you have to walk away from it a bit because of the railroad tracks. We found displays of maple syrup but had to ask for help finding the maple candy. It was in the bakery department and there was only one option but it met our need. There is plenty of parking for those with cars.

Then lower their prices by a fraction of what was raised just so they can act like they're doing us a favor. Highest prices for food in eastern Canada AND the US eastern seaboard. We are poor as dirt here but that doesn't stop them from keeping their prices as high as possible for as long as possible. Shop at walmart, let all their over priced meats rot on the shelves (as they are, just wait a day and 90% of the meat will be 50% off and likely rotten the next morning but they'll gladly sell it to you) Personal peave: Every shopping cart sounds like a dump tuck full of sheet metal because they refuse to service them as it would cost money and might make the whole experience slightly less horrific. If you let a clerk know about a huge spill people are walking all over they'll audibly sigh and roll their eyes at you.

And even the most vulnerable people need groceries, so it seems reasonable to think that a grocery store might be more cautious about a public health emergency than some other businesses. Masks are not required in this store, and haven't been in months. Most people in the store don't wear masks, including some of the employees. Nothing is done anymore to enable people to keep some distance between themselves and others. What finally pushed me to write this review is that, when I went a few days ago, there were people fundraising for something at the exit. None of those people were wearing masks, and their positioning at the exit made it impossible to avoid them. Just terrible handling of an ongoing crisis.

The floral department has been going all out lately - lots of plants exploding out of the department - though I can't say about the quality as I've never bought plants from here. They have increased their Halal food section lately, and have a pretty good selection of dairy-free and/or gluten-free things for the size of the store. You won't find everything you need here (the Superstore on Barrington is a bit better for that reason) but it's pretty decent. The prices definitely feel steeper than at Superstore though.

The one on Joseph Howe might be bigger, definitely has the best Joe clothes line and electronics, and the one on Barrington is open the earliest (7am) which works well when I drop my husband off at the office at the crack of dawn. That said, still my favorite is the one on Quinpool. I love the organization and the great selection of natural, organic and ethnic foods, as if it were a separate store. So easy to find things. The staff is beyond helpful, making sure they take you to wherever the mystery item is supposed to be. Case in point...this morning I was on a mission to find bean sprouts - yesterday being unsuccessful at two other stores. I even went to Pete's downtown and couldn't find any. Pete's is the place I go to for things no one else seems to carry. But not today...today only the Superstore on Quinpool had some. And not yet on the shelves mind you. The sweetest staff stopped what he was doing, went to the back and brought out a box full. Great friendly, efficient service - a huge deal in my opinion. T

I constantly see the items I am purchasing, mostly vegan, rise at a ridiculous rate, most often by $1 at a time, then after a few weeks they put the item on sale for the price it was a couple of weeks prior. You obviously think the consumer is a fool? I refuse to purchase at ridiculous prices so unless you stop gouging the consumer I am done with the Superstore. One example is Riviera Vegan Yogurt. It went from about $4.59 to $7.50 in a few months. The second item is the recent addition of alarms for self serve purchases causing the shopping carts to lock up. After a few false alarms and the embarrassment of having my receipt checked, I am fed up. If you do not want to trust the customer then spend some of your fat profit and hire some cashiers and stop with the self serve option. Get back to providing customer service to the people who purchase from you because without them you would not have a business.
