Happily and happily excitedly had our life room installed. About 3 months ago the battery died in the remote. Replaced them, screens don't respond. Called, was told to order a new remote for about $200. Still doesn't work. We've called and called to ask for help and have been repeatedly told "they don't do service calls." The remote instructions tell us to unplug things that are hardwired. Not helpful. So now I have a lovely cover with non-functional screens that is JUST 5 years old. Really unhappy with the customer service / follow up care. read more

Mike was our sales guy and started this process out with a great impression. We already had multiple quotes, but after Mike came by, we actually cancelled the additional contractors we had scheduled to come out and signed the contract same day. Adrian came out and did a pre-job, reviewed the plans with us and let us know it would be about 4-weeks until the job started. 4-weeks later they delivered the material and the job started! His team was kind, courteous and extremely communicative. Adrians office, communicated daily on job scheduling, inspection scheduling and overall expectations. Adrian and his amazing crew completely gutted our front yard and rebuilt it to perfection. The work was done with care and Adrian and his crew are dependable, and very professional. I got three estimates on what I dreamed of doing to our house. Adrian was able to make it happen within my budget and we received more than I dreamed of. His price was fair for the work that was done and I would do it all over again. Adrian did not nickel and dime us, the quote was what we paid, with the exception of a door that we replaced (which was fair). After much research we thought that concrete was significantly cheaper than pavers. What we eventually found out was that the difference was not more than a few dollars a sq. ft. and Adrian was able to obtain pavers for the entire yard (more than 1400 sf) which was far more than we anticipated being able to do. The crew removed walls, all old landscaping and watering systems, (we have horrible gophers in this area and did not want many plants or real grass), added artificial turf, gopher proofed the yard, stuccoed the front walls, created a rock garden, removed a window from the garage area and stuccoed the wall and painted and repaired areas that needed it as they went along. In addition a pergola was added to create a patio in the front of the house which just sets it all off perfectly. The transformation is amazing. I felt like I was in a home makeover show nearly every day. The crew was so nice and worked so very hard. They were respectful of our property and cleaned up each and every day. The crew wore masks and were Covid safe. Even though we had heavy rains for two weeks the entire project was finished in a little less than 2 months. We had the first heavy rains after the project and the yard drains beautifully. This is a dream come true for my family. My first impression of So Cal Contractors was a great start to an even better end result. Mike the estimator was extremely knowledgeable of the patio cover manufacturers material and what it was capable of doing. While meeting with Mike, my wife and I described what we wanted it to look like. An "A-Frame" style roof structure with only 2 columns spanning nearly 30'. Mike sketched what the patio cover would look like. He also sent many photos of different patio covers they built in the past to give us a visual of different types of structures. Mike was in direct communication with me via text and email (and phone calls). He emailed me the quote and followed up with a phone call to ensure I received it. Mike also provided me with the manufacturers literature on both the Classic and Elite versions of the aluminum. We elected to move forward with the Elite as it provided longer lasting finish and durability. The texture/embossing of the wood grain was also more prevalent in the Elite as compared to the classic. One other factor that played a contributing factor into our decision was that the manufacturer (whom I visited in Buena Park before the shutdown) spoke highly of Adrian of So Cal Contractors. To this point I hadn't met Adrian yet. We completely remodeled the entire exterior of our house: installed James Hardie siding to the front elevation, removed all stucco on the front and rear of the house, installed Renewal by Anderson Windows, new stucco on left/right and rear walls, new fascia board and new roof. This was all done by various other contractors, not So Cal. While working on the back elevation of the house, my Dad was there when Adrian met him to layout backing on the rear of the house. Adrian told my dad where we needed additional framing/wood blocks in the stud walls to ensure the structure was anchored properly. Adrian being there at the same time as the electrician really helped coordinate the wiring demands of what we wanted in the patio cover and ultimately controlled inside the house. Adrian was communicative with me as to coordinating the install concurrently with my paver company. Coordinating between opposing contractors is somewhat a challenge for some homeowners. Luckily Adrian's docile demeanor really made me feel comfortable that So Cal Contractors and my other contractors would "play nice." Everything was going as smooth as possible. Adrian had his crews deliver the material in 1 day. Installed the ledger and then called for Inspection. Then they proceeded with installing the beams and connections to the pilaster columns. A few rain delays is all that kept his crew from being on-site daily until the job was finished. Prior to the next storm coming in the ensured me the patio roof panels would be installed and water tight. They performed flawlessly. Their craftsman were excellent. Please ensure you request Joel to be the main installer. He had a few helpers too. Joel was keen on details and understood my expectations of the finished product. Joel hooked up all the electrical and even asked if I had a fan I wanted him to install! Customer service oriented, timely install, built per code and signed off by the inspector. We couldn't ask for a better experience with a patio cover install. It's not everyday that one has a patio cover built, but I'm sure glad I chose So Cal Contractors. read more

These guys were great! From our first meeting with sales (Mike) to our final inspection, Adrian and his crew did right by us. They are hardly our first contractor, but they are the first contractor we would recommend to our friends and the first contractor we would gladly work with on future projects. Why? They left us feeling good. We feel good about our beautiful deck and its cover and our new windows. But more, we feel good about the wonderfully functional communication Adrian (and Jennifer at the office) maintained. We feel good about the decision-making and problem-solving. We feel good about getting a fair deal for an expensive project. We had been dreading taking on this project. Adrian made it all work out good. Finally, a contractor that did ALL of what he claimed he could do. I originally was set to go with a different contractor for my patio cover, when they started backtracking on what their sales person said they could do. They told me they were going to have to add a 4th post and that I would have to pay extra. I called So Cal Contractors. Mike, the sales person, can out to access the job. He said he was 99% sure that Adrian could do what I wanted and for a fair price. Adrian came out the next day, took one look and said, "I can do it the way you want." Miguel (the installer) did an excellent job and is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. You learn the most about contractors when something does not go right. Early on in the process, one of Adrian's guys put a cement form in the wrong place. We informed Adrian. We expected Adrian to be very upset at his worker and try and talk us into accepting the location of the 1800-pound form. Instead, Adrian drove to our home, accessed the situation, and said, "sorry, these thing can happen, we will redo it." WATCH OUT FOR THE DIRTY ONES: The first guy that came out to quote me (I will not say what company) went out of his way to talk me out of getting a permit and could not even give me a straight answer when I asked how much more if I want it permitted. Later, when I told the contractor I was originally set to go with that I was going with Adrian, they said Adrian could not do what he claimed, and they threatened to call the city and have my job flagged as unsafe. Well, they were wrong. My large patio cover has only 3 posts and was permitted! Thanks Adrian! read more

I already had So Cal Contractors do a backyard makeover (see my previous review). Now with the drought, I decided to add more pavers to my backyard. Calling Adrian again to put in more pavers was a no brainer. His crew came and finished the job in a few days as promised. The crew cleaned up after themselves each time and they left my backyard spotless. There are many contractors out there but I would challenge you to find anyone better. First class operation from start to finish! Shout out to Mike (salesman from out first job with So Cal Contractors). Nothing but issues with the job from completion. They were great at sending someone out every time I called about an issue, but the fixes never worked. It took nearly 4 years dealing with the problems with our patio cover, they finally agreed to a rebuild and on the day it was scheduled they cancelled on us. We ended up filing a complaint with CSLB which was another nightmare in it's self. After our meeting with the CSLB Mediator he found in our favor. I WOULD NOT recommend this company. read more

Update: We were disappointed by the lack of keeping to the timeline established, which was important to us when deciding on the contractor and expressed during the contract process. We believe that Adrian has reigned in any issues with staff to better communicate with the customer on their project and what was promised during the sales consultation. We acknowledged the misunderstanding and to be fair we agreed to additional work which was done efficiently with consideration of the timeline promised. Although, the second experience was much better, we felt an increase ithe rating to 3 stars is warranty by the improve work quality and process without totally negating the original review. I am still waiting for them to start the project. It has been over 30 days. They do not keep there promises, though they definitely wanted my money. $4500 and nothing to show for it. read more

We had a great experience from start to finish. In our search to have pavers installed we had 4 different companies come out and bid on the work. So cal was the smoothest to work with. Mike from So Cal came to do inspection and quoted the project. Wanted to give us what we wanted and our vision. Before the project started Adrian the owner came by and we walked the project prior to construction (great to see a hands on owner ) I shared our vision and he said no problem we'll get it done . He even came out the day of the project start to review with his team. They were flexible with us as we added some work in mid project and it was handled so smooth with out a hitch! The team on site daily was awesome ! Pablo , Jillian, Deemo, were on site as scheduled and they hustle and get the work done. Having owned my home for 20 years, I can tell you of several construction jobs where every suggestion of improving the design resulted in a new Work Order and additional fee. That gets old fast. But, happily, that was not so with So Cal Contractors & Remodeling. Guaranteed through the Home Depot, I signed a contract to replace my old wood and composite patio cover with specific instructions that whatever they do, they not damage in any way, and find some method of supporting, my 20 year old wisteria vine that annually blooms with 2' long bracts of righteous purple, fragrant flowers. That was a deal-killer if they couldn't do that. They went to the drawing board and came back with a design that wouldn't work. I told them they needed to go back. They did and returned shortly with a gratifying and novel design that I readily accepted (with no effing revised Work Order!) In three days, I had a beautiful new patio cover with my awesome (and extremely heavy) wisteria wrapping the eaves like it had been there forever. No extra fees or Work Orders, no complaints, no hassles. This was the easiest, most satisfying construction contract I've ever signed. Kudos to the demo guys who removed all the old cover and cleaned everything up to spotless. And a big thanks to Doug and Matt who came up with the idea to support the wisteria, then built a great patio cover. I couldn't be happier with the results! read more

Very nice work. We moved into a newly built home, and needed to transform the dirt lot out back into a nice patio with built in seating and BBQ. We contacted this company and were impressed with their initial response time and design suggestions, so we hired them. We were so pleased when they took control of all the stressful things, like drawing up plans and getting HOA approval, scheduling City inspections/approvals, and even picking up our BBQ from Pacific Sales. These little details were not expected, but GREATLY appreciated, and gave us the peace of mind that none of our neighbors are having. Our patio was finished this week (the work took about 10 days) and we couldn't be happier. The pavers and built in seating are just lovely. The built in BBQ counter top area is much nicer than we could have imagined. We were extremely pleased with the customer service and response time whenever we had questions. We are the only home so far to have even begun, let alone finish, our backyard landscaping. As a side note: We have some neighbors who tried to hire this company and were unsuccessful. Simply put, they weren't very nice to the contractor, and therefore didn't get a follow up call. When you do a great job, like this company does, you can pick and choose who gets the call and who doesn't. So BE NICE, because there is no law that says a company has to work for you. And if you don't get a follow up call, consider that maybe it's YOU, not them, who needs to change. Also, don't leave a bad review for a company when you didn't even do business with them. That's just more bad karma for you. read more

Total backyard and pool renovation -- new driveway, gates, patio cover, porcelain paver hardscaping, pool coping/tile/plaster/plumbing replacement, electrical, landscape lighting, artificial turf for the dogs, drainage, shed area preparation... They did it all! This was a BIG job and someone was here working EVERY SINGLE DAY until it was finished. Want a contractor that works to please, works every day, and returns phone calls? Call these guys! We now use them for plumbing and electrical jobs, roof repair, some landscaping work, and other stuff because they give great customer service. read more

So I posted this message below on October 18th and received a follow up email, but still still no response or timeline to get the four items completed. Moving on to review on other sites and other contacts until these issues are resolved. . Thanks!!! I signed a contract in September 2016 to have my bathroom remodeled. It is now October 2017 and there is still a part of the remodel that has not yet been completed. I have contacted the office at least 10 times, allowing plenty of time between calls to be contacted by the company. Two different workers have come out to collect measurements. On top of this my fence was damaged during the remodel and that has yet to be repaired. On top of that for the last two months I haven't been able to use my tub as the stopper broke. On top of that my sink stopper needs to be fixed. I was very happy with the remodel until my calls have gone unreturned. I speak with a nice young lady every time I call but NOTHING is happening. This has been very frustrating and at this point I may need outside counsel to get this work completed. read more

Adrian and his guys did a great job removing our big old wooden patio cover, replacing the old patio and building a beautiful new patio with cover, lights, fans and sun screens. The ability to go to the four seasons showroom to see the options up close really made a difference. I research everything so had lots of questions and competitive offers. The responses and solutions the team came up with fantastic. Even though the footprint of our new patio is the same as the old one we gained about 25% more usable space due to the installation ideas we were given. When things did not go as planned they were fixed and we were kept informed throughout the entire experience. We are looking forward to many gatherings and will definitely tell everyone we know that unless they are talking to So Cal they are not done looking for the company to do their work. read more

Had a guy come give us an estimate for some work in the yard - he did a great job with the presentation - we signed a document giving us 3 days to decide, but because we found a much better estimate we had to cancel, that's when the problem started, we called the guy that did the presentation but he wouldn't answer, we then called the company and meet Mr Pushy, he turn the table in us and made it seem we were just too poor to afford them, . Man... all I wanted was an estimate for some house work but it was like I was buying a car. Not a smooth experience I rather eat glass. read more

I would (and already have) highly recommend So Cal Contractors (SCC) for your landscape design needs. Rich is a VERY talented designer and is very accommodating, consultative, patient and creative. He is a great first impression of this company. The city was taking a long time with the permits, however, I greatly appreciate that SCC conducts a follow up call every two weeks to ensure that you're updated on the progress (even if there was no progress) - this is a great component of their service. I didn't have to call them...they gave me peace of mind that they were on top of things from the beginning. I suggested a pergola design that they'd not done before (Pinterest is a resource that will have you thinking of all kinds of creative designs), and they were able to do that and more. The crew worked on my yard daily (when weather permitted) and they were clean and respectful of the property - and they worked fast! I definitely recommend them! read more

From communication, arriving on time and coming in with a uniform it shows the professionalism of the team. While searching for a contractor we wanted someone that was honest and hardworking. SoCal was the ONLY contractor that offered us the option for a permit. The rest of the contractors either ignored our request or told us that it wasnt something that was important to get a permit for. We being the risk adverse people that we are wanted to get a permit for the job. The permit was signed sealed and approved by the city without us doing any of the leg work. So Cal went to the city and had our plans approved with blueprints and paperwork without any additional charge. After searching for a while I am GLAD that I went with them. They are an awesome professional and competitive company. They have made the experience and stressful part of construction a breeze. read more

I was thrilled with the end result.... absolutely beautiful. The owner, Adrian, was so helpful in the design and his frequent stops to check on work being done. BAD BUSINESS!! I was trying to get a quote for stamped concrete and the woman on the phone scheduled me a week out for a quote. A day before she called to confirm and then spoke about a patio cover. I reminded her that I needed a quote for patio floor not cover. She said ok, are we replacing concrete? I said I don't know I need you guys to tell me if that's necessary, I would like to go the cheapest way possible so if you can go on top that would be ideal. She said "oh no we are not the contractor for you" we don't do things the cheap way. I did not mean it do it with poor installation, I meant the most cost efficient way. This rude woman was done with trying to estimate my project. I am doing over $80k worth of renovations at my property, if I'm going to spend the money I want to know what options I have and that's why I wanted a professional contractor to come out and tell me. THIS COMPANY IS RUDE!! DO NOT ASK THEM FOR QUOTES. Go to someone who wants to work with you!! That values your business!! read more

Not sure of their work product as I am definitely not hiring this company. It may be that their sales person - STEVEN to be exact, is the worst sales person and does not reflect on this company, but what they hire usually is what you hire if you ever go with them. Had an appointment to go over some patio work. On that day Steven gives me a call to confirm, and just starts getting angry about not being able to hear me as he is driving while calling (illegal). I decided that maybe it was not his best time as driving in LA can be terrible, so I still gave him a shot. When he arrives, I tell him to go to the back (as that is where the job will be) and it seems he is offended that I don't invite him in the house. He actually dropped a line later that went something like... we aren't going into your house right? When telling him to go back, I try to let him know that I have a neighbor with a dog and to not be scared when it barks at him, and he dives into whether he will get attacked and that I better make sure. Once discussing the project he asks me for my budget and I tell him I want him to give me his best bid, as my budget should not have anything to do with the job and how much it costs. Let me decide if I like his bid compared to my budget rather than him telling me if my budget is correct. I had a couple bids before him and no one pressured me like him to provide a budget. In between this budget question, I say..."Dude, I am not going to give you my budget," and Steven loses it telling me that he has earned the right to be called Sir (as if I needed to get lectured). I guess for me he earned the right to get the F of my property. Either way, moving on, the whole time it felt like I was talking to someone that if I didn't sign his contract, I would regret it, and that I was wasting his time. NEWSFLASH: 1) If you felt that way, excuse yourself "SIR"and leave! 2) I am holding the money, I need the service, and there many more fish in the sea that can provide me the service. 3) Take a sales class. Based on this Steven guy, I would stay away or maybe ask for another representative to show up. read more

If I could give this NO stars I would. I'm writing this on behalf of my parents. This company has the worst customer service and empolyees. My parents patio is in need of repair and my father called them out. A guy came out took and look and said they'll be back to fix it. Well they have now cancelled 4 times. First time cancelled their excuse was because the guys wanted to leave early for memorial weekend, second time was cause it was raining and it wasn't even raining here in L.A. county, Third time no excuse and today was cause the guys so called in sick. My father had asked for a manager and conveniently there was no manager to be found. This is some B'S. Lucky I wasn't on the one with company. I'm not so nice when comes to B's like this. I don't recommend this company at all. read more
