    Welcome to our Home.

We love our new front porch done by Pacificland Constructors. Martin's crew did a wonderful job. They were very neat and cleaned everything up before they left.

Had a great experience working with Martín and his son Martin! Made the construction process very easy and I am very very happy with the stone work installed for my home. I got an estimate from Martin Jr. and he helped me choose the stone for my home. He brought me over 5 samples of flagstone and ledgerstone from Resource Buildings Materials. Once I chose the stone, Martín Sr (Owner of Pacificland) came over and installed the beautiful stone work himself. The job came out great and I am glad I went with them.

It has always been my philosophy and practice to publically extol the results of jobs well done. In most cases I have gone above and beyond in providing as much positive feedback as possible knowing how much it is appreciated and the amount of benefit received from it by the business owner. Concurrently, I have also avoided taking the "low road" to post negative feedback in those cases where poor service was received, ether perceived or legitimately experienced. Knowing that it does no one any good and cannot correct what has happened. But in the case of Pacificland Constructors, I was overwhelming compelled to post the details of my interaction with and the lack of responsiveness from one of the principals of the company. The request was fairly simple, a formal measurement and quote for the installation of a masonry (block) privacy wall, (approximately 85 linear feet and 6 feet tall), to surround our personal residence. The initial telephone conversation occurred on a Thursday morning and began with the explanation of the circumstances involved, location of the home, timeline and concluded with a commitment made by the company for the owner to come out to the house, two days later (Saturday) to take the measurements and return the quote for my consideration. In preparation for the onsite visit I sent photos of the property to the principal, highlighting where the block walls were to be installed as well as a formal measurement of those locations previously provided by a vinyl fencing company whose product was considered as an option to the block walls....all in the spirit of providing as much information as possible to assist in the process. Forsaking taking up too much more space here with text, the bottom line is no one showed up on Saturday, nor was a response received from my text inquiry regarding whether or not someone was going to show up on Saturday, nor were any responses received from multiple follow up texts and phone voice mail messages left at all three of the company's functioning telephone numbers. A bit of comic relieve is due here, upon calling two of the phone numbers the voice recording touts the family owned nature of the company, its 20 year history of notable customer service and finally the pledge of your call being returned within 24 hours??? My watch must have stopped, because this has been the longest 24 hour period experienced to date. While I am unable to upload photos to this post, I have posted photos of screenshots of the text exchanges between me and the company's principal, to Pacificland's photo page, to document my experience so not to be perceived as having "sour grapes" and posting disparaging remarks indiscriminately. You can draw your own conclusions. But having been in the customer service business for over 40 years myself, the courtesy of a reply, irrespective of whether or not its what the customer wants to hear, is paramount and should be the foundation (pardon the pun) of any company's culture and value proposition. For the lack of this practice, Pacificland's rating above should be a zero, if not a negative number, but this program does not afford the opportunity to provide such a rating.

Great Father and Son team! They did a great job on our house. New front steps, walkway to street, driveway, sidewalk, back patio and back steps. Martin Jr. came out to give me the quote and was able to understand and expand on what I envisioned for our home. They worked everyday and got the job done fairly quickly. Great price for all the work performed. Martin Sr. was very meticulous and a perfectionist. They have a fantastic group of professional workers as well. We have had a lot of people coming up to us in our neighborhood telling us they like the new driveway and patio. A few asked us for their contact information which we provided to them. I highly recommend this company.

    Wall removed

I wanted a wall removed from my house and the original contractors I was working with said they could only remove 40% of the wall. I was skeptical (and stubborn), and decided to call on Pacificland. Martin was very professional and knowledgeable in coming up with the specs and plans for the wall coming down. He's an engineer by trade so I trusted his work. His father, Martin Sr., is licensed in framing and provided high quality craftsmanship. Removing the wall made my house more spacious and brighter and I get compliments all the time. I'll turn to these guys on the next major project needed.

After wall knocked down.. we also did a few other things... and made a mess of the house too :P
    Darren T.

I worked with Martin again recently (okay, about 5 months ago actually). We wanted to knock down our wall... he finished quick, did a great job on it, and it was cheaper than I had anticipated. Pictures of before and after found below.

Just had them repair my wall at rich door and window when a truck hit it. They did a great job and were on time to finish it.

We hired Ivan's Masonry for two jobs: driveway renovation and a new stairway with walkway. From onset it was a long journey for us figuring out what material we will be comfortable with. Ivan patiently consulted us on every available material: concrete, stamping, coloring, and many styles from different providers of concrete pavers. None really resonated with our vision. After a month of research we ended up selecting clay pavers for their traditional look and lasting quality. The problem was that no contractor in our area would even consider working with clay pavers. Initially Ivan also refused but with some prodding he actually agreed to install clay pavers and did an amazing job. The team would start consistently punctually at 7 am and worked full days. Ivan, the owner, would work on the job 100%, including operating the equipment and setting the pavers. The site was kept reasonably clean and the process was well organized. We love the results. Our house became the model for the street as a first house with pavers. Many people complimented on the improvements and expressed the desire to contract with Ivan's Masonry. We are wising Ivan to prosper in his business, and for you guys - wishing you to choose your masonry contractor wisely. Go Ivan's Masonry!

I am fond of saying you can tell the quality of a company by how they respond when things go wrong…read more tl:dr; in the case of MC, the answer is not at all. Here are all the things that have gone wrong: I discovered the hardware they used for my lighting and my sprinkler were the base models, despite paying top doller. The owner lied on google maps claiming they put in a higher system. I posted pictures of the base models. No reply. I had to buy after market not so great adapters to get smart access to my lights and sprinklers. They put a chip in my pony wall while installing (years ago) and promised to come back to fix it. They never did. I recently found out from a neighbor who sees a part of my yard I normally don't that I have a sprinkler that is just pouring onto the walkway. That was a few days ago and I haven't had time to look at it. A good company would come out and fix it for me. Given how they haven't fixed anything else yet, I'll have to fix this myself or pay a reputable company to take a look. Half of my lights don't work. Again, I have zero hope that they will repair the lights. I had to replace nearly every plant they chose because it either didn't match my plans or because they weren't suited to the climate here and didn't survive (lest you blame me, every plant I chose to replace it with is thriving. How do you choose plants that can't survive in a region where everything survives?) The owner said on my google review that he had tried to reach me "several times" and I told him not to call.... I have been begging for them to make these things right for years.. I have had no calls. I figured out he was probably calling the wrong number and the person kept telling them that and finally said to stop calling. I sure as hell didn't say it. I would still like them to come fix the pony wall, the lighting, and the sprinklers, and make it right that I paid thousands for plants that had to be replaced within a year. Instead, they are resting on their mostly high reviews figuring mine will get buried and no one will care. Which is why I'm on yelp now as well as google. Here's what you can learn from the reviews. When things go right, MC is great. I do love the layout they created and the work by the actual workers. They were diligent and hard working. The price was high but fair given the amount of curved pavers I had in the plans, it seemed reasonable. (This is assuming there weren't so many problems.) But if you have an issue with them, good luck. Years of me leaving voicemails and reaching out to no avail. They knew about the pony wall before they even finished the project. There is ZERO excuse for not fixing that before they were done. Now years later, any work won't match well. I'm just livid at this company. 75 grand and this is how I've been treated. Unreal.
