*sigh* its been a few days since my one ( and possibly only) visit to So Ba. I went because of awesome recommendations from friends. And since going others have also mentioned how they love this place. I 'll have to say if i return it will be to try other dishes than i ordered. ya know i wasn't out looking for Superior service or a fancy place. Just tasty food and a full drink and maybe a check back on if all was good and i am always looking for manners, always. So no biggie our server had no idea what part of the pig the pork was from or how the pieces were cut,shredded, chopped, etc no biggie his alcohol knowledge was nil or he didn't ever check back on our food or even deliver it. Nope, epic fail came at the very end. the check. check delivered yes correct, yes, payment taken in a timely manner, yes.....Change delivered promptly, yes BUT he said-"I wasn't sure if you wanted this change" I looked at my dinner partner and said, what did he just say?! (my temp is rising just reliving this btw) Um sir, YES you Always bring change back to a cash paying customer. Even if it's 1 dime!!! Who ever taught you to be so sure that you deserve all that tip?? I KNOW i don't teach the hundreds of ppl I've trained in the restaurant biz to say anything remotely assuming as his comment and additionally, just always return someones change. He never said thank you or come back and see us soon or hope you enjoyed your meal NOPE not one polite word out of his mouth. You have Blonde hair and you came in paid and sat @ a table facing the bar. I was sitting @ the bar & was there while you made your comments. The first comment was that you woulde've never made a take out order if you had to wait that long. The girl came back and explained the times and also explained how busy the restaurant was with carry out and with in house orders. she also explained where your ticket was according to the tickets in the kitchen. I don't believe anybody was out of hand except for the fact that after the bartender pointed out that she had the ticket times and explained you Had come in within 5min of the call you seemed to be even more irritated. The restaurant was pretty busy and the bar and bar tables were full. what i don't understand is if you wanted something why Didn't you open your mouth? Is it really so hard to do when you saw that she was running around answering phones and making server drinks as well as taking care of her tables. I'm in the serving industry, as a matter of fact an owner of a bar/restaurant and people should be more AWARE of their surroundings. Servers are human beings and if everything were to run perfectly we would be robots! Also, I recall you telling her that she was an unbelieveable server and you couldn't believe that she didn't understand her position, after that being said she said that you were an unbelieveable customer. I've been coming here for YEARS!!! I almost always sit at the bar and Maggie usually serves me. Well I came in a while back to order what I ALWAYS GET (salt and pepper tofu with extra spring onions) and a specialty drink she only makes for me. Well they messed up my order and gave it to someone else. Rightfully so I'm upset. I mean I'm expecting to get what I drove all the way across town for, which is gas and time out of my day. So I asked them to remake it and surprisingly they wouldn't. They brought me some burnt additions on the side which wasn't satisfactory to me as a paying customer. So when she told me that the chef said he wasn't going to remake it the right way, with a what seemingly appeared to be a smirk on her face, I asked for my check and left. Determined not to come back. But I said nope let me give them another chance. Well I've been back since then and Maggie has NO WORDS FOR ME!!! Not even a hi. Like really? As a "regular" you would think that people would look out for you and make sure that you leave happy and have a great experience when they're in your establishment. A tiny little place, tucked away on Gresham, I've been trying to go here since I noticed it about a month ago and finally got some friends together last week to check it out. Their Vietnamese iced coffee was standard, which means I loved it. My friends tofu appetizer was crispy and amazing (so many places mess up tofu.) My chicken Bun dish was fantastic and amazingly large for $8, and the Shrimp spring rolls in rice paper were really good too. I'm really happy to have a decent Vietnamese place in the neighborhood. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I ordered the Tofu Bun dish for take-out and the tofu wasn't as crispy as it was in the appetizer. Great environment and friendly staff. Hey Rae! You are ridiculous!!!! I have been ordering carry out from SoBa since they've opened. They have always told me a round about correct time, 15, 20 or 30min. Sometimes i get there early and i may be waiting longer, but only because, i am early. The times given have always been pretty much correct give or take 5min or so. Sometimes i'm offered drinks while waiting, but sometimes when really busy i'm not asked at all, but if i were thirsty i would ask the bar tender without acting like the`world owes me. I was in the service industry when i was younger & realize how stressful it may get when there are 5 things going on at once. The way you are going about your complaining you don't seem like you have been in the industry at all. read more

When i first moved to ATL this spot quickly became one of my favorites, and three years later it still is. i go here for my bday dinner every year, thats how much i like it lol. it IS a small business, so when it's busy and the servers are swamped, service can be a little slow but the food is so worth it, and the servers are polite and helpful. i love their pho, their rice dishes, and the shrimp spring rolls. cocktails are good too. cozy environment, feels like home. even with the pandemic (glad they have stayed take-out only bc it shows they care about their workers and customers, not just profits), i grab takeout from here all the time, and it's the ultimate comfort food xoxoxo read more

Woke up wanting Pho. I've only had it once in my hometown, but once you have it you'll crave it. I googled Atlanta Pho and reviewed my options. This place is great. I live in Little 5 and it was 5 min away. It also had the highest review. Great broth and meat. Excellent prices. Also got the egg and srpring rolls. Tasty and fresh. Really good peanut dipping sauce. I would recommend eating here in the evening. Very large windows face the sun and it was a bit warm for me on a summer day for lunch. My go-to is the Thai fried rice, and over time I've tried it with just about every protein--shrimp, tofu, chicken, and even the veggie option. Every single one has been flavorful and satisfying. You really can't go wrong. I also always add either the cheese rolls or the spring rolls, and they never miss. What keeps me coming back (aside from the flavor) is the consistency. Every time I order, it's just as good as the last--and that reliability makes me excited to come back because I know I won't be disappointed. I also have to shout out the staff at the BeltLine location, since that's the one I've been going to consistently lately. They are so genuinely kind--like a special kind of kindness you don't always come across. I definitely need to remember to get their names next time. I really hope to see Tyde Tate continue to grow and open more locations, because they've truly mastered consistency and flavor. One of my absolute favorites.

After waiting in line like every other customer, my group was suddenly informed that they would no longer be serving people in line because they were "running out of food" and nearing closing time. To make matters worse, roughly half of our group had already placed before this decision was made. Oddly enough, when we pushed back and questioned the decision, we were then told they could actually make whatever we wanted. So which is it? Are you out of food, or are you not? The explanation seemed to change the moment it was challenged. The biggest issue here is the complete lack of communication and organization between staff. If a restaurant plans to stop serving customers before closing, that decision should be communicated clearly and consistently. Cutting off a line without warning while customers are already waiting is unprofessional and disrespectful. A competent manager (not Matt) would have established a clear policy and ensured everyone on staff was communicating the same message. Unfortunately, the customer service made the situation even worse. Manager Matt and front counter employee David displayed an impressive level of snark, attitude, and dismissiveness throughout the interaction. Rather than trying to de-escalate the situation or explain things professionally, both seemed more interested in delivering sarcastic responses and making customers feel like an inconvenience. Restaurants run out of food. Restaurants have difficult closing procedures. Customers generally understand that. What customers don't appreciate is being given contradictory explanations, having lines arbitrarily cut off, and then being treated with unnecessary sass when they ask reasonable questions. Based on this experience, their communication, management, and customer service are badly in need of improvement. If this is how customers are treated near closing time, management should seriously reconsider their staff training and operational procedures.

Arrived today around today may 12th 2026 around 430pm....purchased the habachi…read morebox..steak..chicken..and shrimp combo plate for $19.90...the taro milk tea costed and additional $5.75.. The restaurant had about 4 customers inside...I waited approximately 15 minutes before my food arrived..my total with a tip was $33.00 dollars .the food was hot...the white rice was a little stiff...the shrimp was a little hard...the steak chunks were small and chewy..not soft...the vegetables, zucchini..onions.. broccoli. were fresh...I heard about this place on Instagram..hmm. It was ok...I think I could have spent my $33.00 dollars elsewhere...the facility was clean and in a safe location..Overall I wasn't impressed....the food had no flavor...I had to pay 50,cents extra for some yum yum sauce.. If I return I will try additional items..like their steak egg rolls...or wings and fries .....
