Five star City. Love Snuffer's. Cheese fries are THE BEST as are the hamburgers. Not good for you but totally worth it. Good drinks too, and the staff is always friendly and fast, even on a Friday night. I will never stop loving this place. They have different burgers and chicken strips, but I always just get the cheeseburger and cheese fries to share at the table. We have a saying in the south "them good eats" and that's really my review for Snuffer's. I like the way you can just walk in, sit down and don't have to wait for a host. The service is great but this is a conversation about hamburgers not check takers and that's where Snuffer's shines. It's a great spot for lunch and the half pound barbecue burger with a side of cheddar fries is how I roll. Of course I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order but if you aren't a fan of greasy burgers that melt in a puddle of awesome sauce then this isn't your place. read more

Mmmmm, fatty food *drools* This is a serious staple when I'm wanting some greasy grub! I felt the need to share the experience with a friend recently & he certainly was up for some burger goodness. We were hooongry, so an appetizer was a must. We tried out the nachos with beef, which were pretty darn good. They definitely hit the spot! The chips weren't overloaded, so they never got soggy, but we weren't cheated out of a fair amount of toppings, either. Even the salsa was decent, which always shocks me at a burger place. I'm usually a fan of their burgers when I wanna be really bad, but I tried out the turkey burger this time around. The turkey patty was juicy and tasty and it went well with fresh veggies that were piled on the warm bun. My friend enjoyed his burger as well, though finishing it off proved a challenge. While the portions are huge, making sharing a good idea, I doubt you'll wanna let someone horn in on your greasy burger yumminess, much less if you order the cheese fries! Our waitress that night was friendly & kept our glasses filled. We went when the place was empty, so quick service wasn't an issue at all. The wooden benches aren't the most comfortable thing, but they're simple & functional. The booths have plenty of space for large parties & I like that there are some scattered TVs so that you can catch a game if there's one on. Prices are decent, though burgers don't come with fries, so be leary of that. More than likely, you're not going to break you bank or feel the need to share food to save some dough. read more

They're really busy around lunch time I got the cheese burger this time and cheese fries both are good portion and fresh but I'm now spoiled by hopdoddys but this place still hold strong with a solid 4 stars as they have great service and a good list of local draft beers! read more

Snuffer's is an interesting place, a mix between greasy spoon diner and down-home burger joint, showcasing amazing food with calories and saturated fat to spare. If you're up for a heart-attack-inducing dining experience, head to Snuffer's for my favorite combination of loaded cheese fries and a chili cheese burger. Wash it down with a draft beer or two (nothing fancy -- Shiner Bock is about as exotic as you get at Snuffer's), and you'll be all set for a 24-hour, food-induced vegetative state. Not that there are any real vegetables involved, aside from jalapeños on the fries, of course. Parking at this Snuffer's location (read: the only "real" Snuffer's location) is pretty decent: there's a dedicated parking lot on the north side of the building and some other spots within easy walking distance. The price is right, too: I don't think anything on their menu is over $10, and most items are in the $5-$7 range. Service is odd but good; it seems like servers don't have their own tables like in typical restaurants, but all the servers are more than willing to help out wherever they can. The only gripe I have about Snuffer's is that the inside often feels very dirty and nasty. Maybe it's the stale cigarette smoke, or maybe it's the stained menus, seats, and tables... I don't know, but the food is good enough for this complaint to only knock one star off my rating. Show up early to get a table without a wait, and remember to take your Lipitor. read more

Went here Tuesday evening and ate at the bar. There is only one way into this place so if you miss the entrance (easy to do) you are driving around the block to try again. The cheese fries with the jalapenos, bacon, and chives were excellent! I ordered the medium as an appetizer but should have ordered the small. Next was the Dr. Pepper BBQ Bacon cheeseburger. They suggested cooking at medium rare which I agreed to. I find that if a restaurant will cook their ground beef any way you like it they are typically serving a better quality of beef. The burger was also very good. I ordered the onion fries as a side. Onion fries are thick cut red onions halved (instead of circles) so they come out elongated and then are battered and fried. They were good but proved too much as I had ordered a larger appetizer than I should have. Service at the bar was acceptable but not memorable although the bartender was very attentive to what were the "regulars". Anyway not much to look at but definitely a place to try for the food. Hubby and I came late Sunday afternoon of Memorial Day weekend. I haven't been to a Snuffers in years and was looking forward to the cheese fries! We sat at the bar and Kevin, the bartender, made the experience absolutely amazing! He gave us just the right amount of attention and we enjoyed a few conversations with him. Why oh why must places switch locations? The old snuffers was old, yes. But it had personality, lots of Windows and a cute little patio. Since the switch, they are now in what reminds me of a very sad cafeteria. Only windows are in the very front, rest of the building is bland and boring. White walls, couple tvs and just blah. Food has always been consistent, wish they had more specials and more menu options. Service is always great and friendly which always speaks for something. read more

Great customer service and the food was ok but the clientele is questionable...my wife's Drivers license was stolen within minutes of being there and the manager was very defensive and uncooperative. They were also very strict on drink orders (you can not order a mixed drink and a shot at the same time) and do not accept out of state drivers licenses. Great food with a nice staff! The veggie burgers are amazing! I usually order them extra crispy and with no bun and they always taste great. The menu is very small (it fits on one laminated sheet) but there are so many options. You can also customize anything and the staff is always nice and makes sure it comes out great. Last time I couldn't decide between fried pickles and mushrooms so the waitress offered to have a half and half order. It was perfect! There is outside seating and a separate section for smokers (only outside). Very nice for both non-smokers who don't want to sit near those smoking, and for smokers who want to have a beer and smoke. Out of all of the locations, this is without a doubt the best. Great staff, the burgers taste the way they were years ago on Greenville Ave before the went down the crapper. I work in Addison and live in Rowlett and even though the one by my house is great, Addison is my favorite. This is the best burger in the city, possibly state. I'm so pissed that in all the "best of" lists, i hardly ever see them mentioned while weak burgers like liberty or smash are on said list. Anyway, half pound burger cooked medium and well seasoned, perfectly topped (i leave off the mustard, but that's a whole different argument ) with a poppyseed bun can't get better. Then come the cheddar fries with perfect homemade ranch, yes, i might have a heart attack but i will die happy. We got snuffed... I really like the food, but the service is terrible. I used to go to the old location for years with my family while growing up in north Dallas. Food was good, service was good, I looked forward to going to Snuffers. After they moved to the location (which is really annoying to get to) the food has remained good, but the service is dreadful. Went there for lunch last year about 2 hours before having to catch a flight at Love Field. Figured it would take about 30 minutes. Nope, it took over an hour while sitting in the bar area and the restaurant was maybe half full. Nearly missed my flight. Went back again with my parents for dinner a couple of weeks ago and had even worse service. The restaurant wasn't full so we were able to sit down immediately. Took about 20 minutes to get drinks (not from the bar). Took another 10 minutes after that to get a waiter to take our food order after we started asking for it. Took about another 30-40 minutes to get our food. We watched other people sit down after us, eat, and leave before we got our food. We complained to the manager and he apologized and said he would take care of it. Took about another 20 minutes after that to get the check. We could have left earlier, but we were kept being told our food was almost ready the entire time. We were expecting the meal to be covered considering we were there for almost an hour and a half. Nope, he only covered our drinks. One tea, one Dr Pepper, one water, which was about $5. If it were just me, I would have just walked out without paying after getting the bill, but my dad has more of a heart than I do and still paid for it. It pissed me off more than I can explain that the waiters and managers did next to nothing to acknowledge their mistake and they took my dad's money. I can get one time maybe having slow service, but both times I went was bad. Needless to say, those two visits have turned me off from returning again to a restaurant that I used to enjoy going to for years. read more

I was with a group of 4 and we way over ordered because we couldn't narrow down to just a few things, so we had the fried pickles, fried mushrooms, fries with cheese, bacon, and chives (I think), and a few burgers. Two of us had the swiss green chili burger and one had the bacon burger, and holy moley, they were delicious. Would definitely come back if I lived near. I love that you can get a turkey burger and pretend you're being healthy, but you know it's just as bad as the regular burger! I may have to reconsider Snuffer's place in the pantheon of burger lords of Dallas. My most recent visit yielded only average burgers, ruined by an over-zealous application of mustard. While our hostess solicited medium-rare burgers, we were presented with medium-well meat. We were not the only patrons who experienced this, as at least one neighbor sent their burger back, complaining it was overcooked. For this most recent visit, I partook of the Green Chile Swissburger, Snuffer's signature burger and found it wanting. Though it was pleasingly messy, it didn't have the same mouth-feel of my fave Bleu Cheese Bacon Burger or the Hickory BBQ burger. I'm also not a fan of shredded lettuce and chopped onions, preferring leaf lettuce and rings. My man ordered their double-cheeseburger and also mentioned that the mustard ruined an otherwise good burger. We might have considered going with 1/2 pounders had we not requested a large order of cheese fries--which were superb. (Incidentally, we ate but a quarter of a plate before our guts cried no more.) Mayhap we should've just ordered the cheesy fries and walked away happy. Great service however and comfortably-casual digs made up for the lapse in burger quality. I'm hoping that future visits will improve, since I will continue to come here for the cheese fries. read more

Snuffers is king of the greasy burger. If you want a heart attack on a bun... this is your place. My recommendation is the cheddar burger and bringing a friend to split the loaded (chive, bacon, jalapeno) cheese fries. You could eat them by yourself, but I'm fairly certain you'll die. read more

Great food, especially the burgers and that amazing chili dog! The cheddar fries are good but pour a little cup of chili on them if you want to knock it out of the park! Service is great. Servers are very attentive. Great experience! We were there mid-afternoon, so it wasn't overly crowded. The bar seemed packed for sports tv or something, but it's pretty well separated from the dining, so it was no big deal. I think this used to be a biker bar, but it's a better alternative to a Chili's or other similar places. read more
