I love this place. They're willing to make your order as you request. I always leave out MSG, low sodium. I love the Moo-Shu pork. They nail it, and at a reasonable price. I go by and pick up my orders. I'm stunned at the people who are too lazy to just pick it up. These are the usual complainers. Good grief, get off your lazy, you know what, and drive up for pickup. I imagine, these people are the same ones that say, leave it at the door to avoid a tip to the poor delivery person who has to deal with the traffic, etc. and pay for his own gas. I've seen that with my own eyes. Shame on them! There's nothing wrong with this place. The owners are super nice too! I don't understand all the negative reviews here. Yes, the building is old and nothing to look at... but the FOOD!! I had General Tso's Chicken, and it was outstanding! It was clearly made fresh, and the chicken was tender white meat (not the nasty, stuck-together kind you find in many inexpensive Chinese restaurants). The portion was HUGE. Good Chinese food & delivery. There is basically one Chinese restaurant that delivers to my house, so despite the reviews which suggest this isn't a good spot, I took a chance. I am glad I did! I ordered sweet and sour pork, egg drop soup, crab Rangoon and vegetable fried rice. Sweet and sour pork was great, exactly what you would expect, crunchy and pillowy soft. Comes with a large sweet and sour sauce on the side. The crab Rangoon was fantastic!!! So flavorful, definitely my favorite. The fried rice was okay, lots of veggies and egg, but lacked flavor. Despite this, I will order it again. It is passable. Lastly, the egg drop soup. It was thin, with lots of egg, definitely not salty in the least. Perhaps I am used to overly gelatinized egg drop soup that is bright yellow. This one clearly was home made, maybe a tad bland. I can appreciate that this food was fresh. I have been eating at the Snow pea restaurant for over 40 years, I have eaten there the last time. On December 24 my family decided to have Snow Pea for a dinner and what a surprise the food was. We had it delivered to where I am recuperating from several surgeries, but young man took 30 minutes to find us even though my granddaughter was standing outside with blinking lights around her neck looking for him. I don't know how to express my disappointment but here goes. One meal we didn't even get,sauce for the sweet-and-sour chicken did not arrive and one meal was absolutely inedible. Now normally I don't say how much i paid but this was an $80 plus order. I called the restaurant expressed what was not included and what could not be eaten, I can only assume the owner of the Snow Pea proceeded to tell me that I didn't order a certain meal even though I was charge for it. When I mentioned there was no sauce, she said oh it had to be in the sack. I told her no it was not, the ordered meal was not in there and that one meal was soured and inedible. She got very insistent with me that I had made a mistake, and there was nothing wrong with the food. Never was there ask if they could come back and or bring the right order and God forbid if I should have mentioned come pick it up,I want my money back, then we would've ordered pizza. I have spent several birthdays there when I was a teenager and we have spent several birthdays there with children and grandchildren. The food tastes good the portion sucks they are super stingy with the meat so I won't be ordering again because for chinese food their prices are way too much. I ordered jalapeno chicken ($9.50) and separated the celery and jalapenos. (Picture posted) also ordered the combo rice (8.95) and it literally had 3 small shrimps and a few tiny pieces of meat. Snow Pea and Egg Roll Yeh are the same restaurant. Not sure why they have two names. I just had the worst Pork Fried Rice I've ever had. The pork looked like it was coated to fry, but then boiled. It had an off-flavor to it, and was real MSG/salty. The egg rolls were greasy, and the Moo Shu Pork pancakes cracked when we tried to roll them. I got to give this place four stars, because it is has the fastest delivery in east Dallas. The food is always hot, and the order is always correct. As mentioned in another review, they do make a pencil scraping of your credit card, which I find different However, we have never had an issue with fraudulent charges. I guess I have tried at least half the menu, but my go to meal is combination fried rice. The lomein is delish as well as the sesame chicken! I suggest trying this place out for your Chinese delivery. We once did a dine in, and the windowless cave like atmosphere was a little spooky. Stick to the fast and friendly delivery. If you've ever had real NY shrimp toast, you know it's hard to find, but man, Snow Peas got it and it was glorious! Also, ordered on-line and it was super easy to use, we had it delivered and it took about 40 minutes. Not bad at all. We got a variety of meals to share and the best by far was the general tsos chicken so juicy and tender and the combination lo mein. Also the sweet and sour chicken was really good (a little to crunchy, if that's a thing) as well! The whole experience was great and the staff was warm and friendly. Had no issue finding our apartment and we ate like Kings! We will for sure be ordering from them again, and I'm already ready for some more shrimp toast! read more

The lady who speaks almost no English said her driver retuned ans delivered the food. Well I was never called - my room wasn't called. She offered to remake my meal and I declined. I insisted they refund my Amex. Which she said they would. The driver called me also in broken English to say he gave my order to someone in the lobby who said it was for them. I wish I would have listened to the reviews. I ordered on a Wednesday at 6:35pm. Never have I ever had to wait two hours for take out. One hour I can forgive but this experience was insane. The owner called me saying the delivery guy was late. It had already been an hour and twenty mins. I didnt care considering if he left he should be 10 mins away. 25 mins passed and I called again. I told the owner and she said the delivery guy had other orders. I told her It had almost been 2 hours and that if they could not handle orders they should just tell people so they can make other dinner plans. I told her I was not tipping the driver because I felt she should. I wanted money off since there was no way I was going to pay full price for food that took 2 hrs. She said she'd call me back and she did. Instead of paying $38 she said I could pay $33. I said fine and continued to wait for the food. When the delivery guy got to my place I said "it's $33 not $38. I just talked with your boss. We've been waiting two hours." He then had to call her and make sure. I told him I wasn't tipping because I told the manager to tip him. He said he didn't have change. I said "how does a delivery guy not have change!?" I was so pissed and hungry! I told him to keep it. Little con artist got a $7 tip. Food was cold and gave me an immediate stomach ache. I would never order here again. If a place messes up this bad they should make it right. We ordered delivery for the first time tonight from Snow Pea Chinese Restaurant after they recently left a menu on our front door. Our food arrived on time and at the proper temperature. We ordered Mongolian beef, sweet and sour pork, steamed rice, and egg rolls. Overall, we really enjoyed the food, and everything tasted fairly fresh for delivery. The sweet and sour pork was crisp and not too greasy, and the sweet and sour sauce was delicious. The Mongolian beef had good flavor, but the meat to vegetable ratio was off. I wish there would have been a little more beef. The steamed rice was perfect. The egg rolls were not what we were expecting. They had a unique taste (not bad, just unique). We liked them, but I don't know that they would be for everyone. We will definitely order from here again. read more

I'm giving this place 3 stars despite mediocre Chinese food, because most places in Dallas serve mediocre Chinese food, and this is not the worst of them. I wanted Chinese for lunch today, and since I live walking distance from Snow Pea, I figured I'd give them a try. Mind you I haven't ordered from them for almost 4 years, after having a less-than-delicious introduction when I first moved to Texas. The online menu was easy to read (although the website listed for them on yelp is wrong; it is actually snowpea.net), and I called ahead and ordered the garlic chicken lunch plate with steamed rice and egg drop soup. 10 minutes later my food was ready, and I was saddened when I walked into the restaurant shortly after noon and it was EMPTY. I mean, not another person in the entire place who didn't work there. The food was decent. Not nearly as good as any Chinese food I've had in my home state of California, but that is to be expected. As others have said, the egg roll that comes with any lunch plate is really, really good. Doesn't even need a dipping sauce (although a few squirts of soy sauce make it that much better). The egg drop soup lacked something but wasn't bad. The garlic chicken itself had a few too many pieces of water chestnut and bamboo shoot in it, but also wasn't bad. The best thing about the meal was that it cost less than $6, and I have enough left over that I'll have lunch again tomorrow. I like to support local businesses, and I'll probably come back here again. I'm hoping their takeout business is stronger than their dine-in. Some nights you just don't have the energy to make dinner, nor do you have the will to go out and get it. Delivery, what a great way to remind me of how lazy I sometimes am. Now we have all had the paper menus stuck to our doors or placed in our mailbox. I tend to keep a drawer full so I have an assortment to choose from when the time comes. Making the order was like any other order, number 312, 502, brown rice (oh wait they don't have brown rice), steamed rice and two egg rolls please. The order arrived in about 40 mins which I'm used to because finding my loft isn't the easiest thing to do. The real problem I had was with the food. A few bites into her meal my girlfriend finds a nice big piece of fried plastic. Perhaps that is the new secret ingredient, but I cant imagine it having much flavor. As hungry as we were complaining about it wouldn't do anything cause honestly the food wasn't good. It wasn't even ok or fair, it was horrible. Ok, I normally order from King China...but seeing that Snow Pea is literally like 5min from my house I would try them out. I figured I was all gross from a day of cleaning, so why go pick up food when I can have them deliver. I call, and put in an order making sure to take advantage of the lunch specials so I could get an entree for dinner and one for lunch the next day. I place my order and it comes out to only $12 for two meals, awesome. So I quickly shower in anticipation that the food will be there ANY minute and I then proceed to wait, and wait, and wait, and wait some more. Almost 40minutes after placing my order the food arrives. The driver apologizes a thousand times that he couldn't get into the gate (even though I gave them the code and instructions), and gives me my food. I get inside and my food is practically ice cold from him waiting. Don't delivery people usually have cell phones to contact you if they have this sort of problem? I re-heat my food and it totally killed it. The orange beef instantly became soggy, tough, and completely inedible. Plus, the pieces of steak were massive...not the little deep fried nuggets I'm typically used to. My chicken/veggie dish contained very little chicken and way more fried rice than the actual entree portions. The egg drop soup was completely lacking in flavor, and the hot and sour soup was not much better. The only part of this meal I really enjoyed were the egg rolls. Next time I will definitely stick to King China when I want convenient Americanized Chinese delivery! read more

This isn't the best or worst Chinese joint. We like them because they're really close to where we live but some of their food is lacking. The hot and sour soup is runny and never consistent. But, we do love their szechuan chicken. The portions are HUGE, and we often split one dish. I love this particular dish because it has julienned carrots and celery, which is easy to chew (for those of us currently undergoing orthodontic treatment). The people who work there always greet us when we come in (since we have become regulars). I think some of the dishes are touch and go, but I really enjoy the spiciness of the szechuan chicken. We've tried their pineapple chicken as well and I enjoyed that thoroughly because of the abundance of chicken, pineapple and water chestnuts in the dish. The one thing they are always consistent with is the rice. It's ALWAYS cooked well. read more

Chicken fried rice comes with white meat so no extra charge. I always add broccoli. Tender chicken, not your typical greasy mess. Chicken with broccoli is really good. Could use some more chicken but the broccoli and carrots are really good. We always order chicken wings. Taste like chicken wings. All in all you can't pass up for a meal for 3 people for $20 bucks delivered to your door. Tried this place because we were new to the area and they left a menu on our door. So why not. Ordered the Orange Chicken and Kung Pao chicken. The orange chicken was all ribbed and stringy and did not resemble chicken. It was red in color and barely had orange flavors. My boyfriend said the kung pao chicken was terrible and primarily ate the fried rice. Within an hour, he was hit with terrible food poisoning. He's been getting sick for an hour now. Okay so we used to frequent Bo Bo China but since they got new owners and new staff the food hasn't been good so we went searching for a different Chinese food place where the food was good. Well we came upon this place, which if you look at the outside you can't tell that it has fresh, tasty, great food. The owners are so nice and friendly and now know us by name and by the sound of my voice when I call for take out. They also deliver if you need that option and are very quick to get the food to you. The food is great and we keep coming back when we want Chinese Food. The building could be updated but the food is very good. And yes we have eaten in the restaurant and it is comfortable and pleasant. The prices are also very affordable. read more

But...when I want to sit on the couch in my fuzzy pajama pants while I watch food network and concentrate more on quantity than quality, this'll do it. The food was ok. About what you would expect from a hole in the wall Chinese food store that probably sounds so delicious when you're drunk. However...it took 2 hours for the delivery to get to my apartment. 2 hours! That's 2 whole episodes of cutthroat kitchen that I had to endure without mouthfuls of fried mystery meat. That was upsetting. It took them about an hour to deliver, but it was Saturday night and they made it through my confusing apartment building. Pros: large portions, good taste, plenty of sauce given, decent delivery time, and reasonable price. Usually Snow Pea is on the scale of your average to good Chinese food but on this occasion it was lacking, severely. Had Kung Pow Chicken and Sweet and Sour chicken (was a poultry kind of day) delivered this evening and it was aight. The Kung Pow was Kung s#%t and the Sweet and Sour Chicken was fried to holy hell. The egg rolls were stuffed with a meat that was akin to Alpo or Taco Bell. Next time we'll try the Broom Chasing House or some such.
