After they got it to a point that I was able to use water they diagnosed the pump failure and pulled the pump. They then verified it out to double check it was not a control or float issue, pumps are expensive and they ensured it was indeed the issue before replacing it. Once that was completed they isolated the failed float and replaced it to ensure if there is an issue in the future it will alarm and prevent the backup. 100% will use them again and refer them to anyone looking. He was easy to talk to, gave us a very reasonable price (second cheapest out of all the companies we called), and right away pointed out that our lids weren't the standard 24-inch -- they were 30-inch, which not everyone works with. Stan referred us to Above Grade Septic to help find the right lids, and when I spoke with Candace there, she had nothing but great things to say about him. That kind of praise from someone in the same industry really sealed the deal for us. We ordered the lids online, and as soon as they arrived, Stan came out the very next morning. He pumped the tank (which hadn't been serviced in over 10 years), cut down both risers so they sat flush with the ground, and installed the new lids. My aunt was really happy with how everything turned out -- and she's not someone who's easily impressed. Stan showed up when he said he would, did exactly what he promised, and got it done efficiently and cleanly. JP is the man to call to fix your side sewer. I our case, our problems were multifold. We had…read morepersistent tree roots growing into our side sewer from a city-planted tree. The tree roots were also obstructing the sewer under the sidewalk and the street. Our basement sink was backing up on top of this. JP gave a root sample to a City arborist, who confirmed it was the tree in question. This was important because the City was attempting to force us to pay for problems located in the right-of-way. JP's knowledge was instrumental in working things out with the City. He is very trustworthy, and comes up with the most effective solution, so it is no wonder he is one of their preferred contractors. This could have been a nightmare of epic proportions. In performing the repairs, the Sewer Detectives was efficient and on-time despite having to dig further than anticipated. He used a camera to make sure their were no obstructions and finished the job early, when included replacing the sidewalk as well as any concrete contractor, and getting sign-offs from the City.
