Terrible customer service. Below is the text of a certified letter I sent Evergreen describing our experience. It was signed as received over a month ago and we still haven't received a phone call or email from them. Their lack of attention to customer concerns is appalling. 0/5 stars. ----------------------- To Whom It May Concern: I have been an Evergreen Sanitation customer for over 10 years and, to this point, have been pleased with the service that has been provided. The office staff has been responsive and thorough and the technicians knowledgeable. Sadly, this was not the case recently, to the point where you have lost my business. On February 27, 2021, Evergreen pumped our septic system and, on the advisement of the technician, we had a filter installed three days later, on March 2. The service was excellent and efficient. Two weeks later, on Saturday, March 13, our septic system overflowed and backed up into our home. From the moment we discovered the overflow, we stopped all water and toilet use for our family of 7. I called the Evergreen hotline on Saturday and Sunday and left messages with the operators that we had an emergency. In both messages, I expressed that the only thing that changed in the two weeks from the initial pumping was the installation of the filter, so logic would indicate that the filter was a contributor to the overflow. (I am a civil engineer.) On Sunday, the operator said that only business emergencies are serviced on Sunday, but we would be called early Monday morning after the office opened at 6 am. On Monday morning, March 15, after 6 am, I called the Evergreen office again. I left another message, reiterating the emergency and that I need this addressed asap, and said the filter needs to be inspected. After not receiving a return call by 8 am, I called again and the person answering said she was "just about to call" and that a truck would be out later in the morning. At no point, in any conversation with the office, was cost mentioned. No pumping cost, no visit charge. Nothing. The technician, Jose, arrived around noon. By that time, we had not used water for more than 48 hours and the waste level, while still high, was just below the top of the outlet pipe. Jose pumped the system. Again, cost was never discussed. He pulled the filter and hosed it off, declaring that it "works fine." Once the tank was pumped, Jose stuck our garden hose up the outlet pipe into the drainfield and said everything seemed ok. After putting away his equipment, I asked him if he knew what the problem was. He said "no" and that it was "weird." He took a call from the office and I went inside. 10 minutes later, he handed me an invoice. I told him that I would not accept the invoice and would not pay, and that my concerns had not been addressed and we never discussed another pumping charge. I told him that I was sorry that the office put him in the middle of this situation, and that I was not upset with him, but the office needs to call me "today" to discuss. No one called. In fact, no one has ever called. As of today, I have received three invoices. Three weeks ago, after receiving the second invoice, I called the office and said I wanted to talk to a manager. The person answering looked up my file and said that, yes, I need to talk to the general manager. In fact, she said that there was a note in the file to call me. She told me that the general manager was very busy "in the field" and it would likely be a few days. He has never called. I am appalled by the poor customer service Evergreen Sanitation has provided me and my family. The lack of communication, concern or follow through is shameful. I have no intention of paying this invoice until an executive with your company takes some time to explain the behavior of Evergreen Sanitation staff, offer a sincere apology, and articulate how you would handle this situation if you received such poor customer service. I sent a set of plans for a new septic system for an addition in June 2021. Sent again in August and again in October. I was told each time that I would absolutely get a call back. It's December and still nothing. They must be sooooo busy that they can't even return my call? No interest in keeping a customer? Used them before and they were great. I initially wrote a positive review (see below). They clearly have a good person in the office answering phones... My experience with technician Jason was as bad as it gets. We just purchased a house, and the septic alarm had been on since it was pumped several weeks before. Jason must have no idea what different pump floats look like, as I have a photo of him holding the defective float *in his hand*, missing a critical piece for it to function. Rather than diagnosing this straight-forward missing part (not triggering the pump to turn on), he instead went off on trying to sell a vac/flush of our drainage field (likely not necessary, and DEFINITELY would NOT have fixed our problem). When asked for clarification later, he was defensive that his initial recommendation was appropriate and very necessary (and $600+). I plan to speak with the office and get my money back for the waste of time spent with Evergreen Sanitation. Stay away! The reputation is well known with the other septic companies needing to "fix" Evergreen's mistakes on a regular basis. Initial review: I haven't had to hire Evergreen Sanitation yet (thankfully), but wanted to provide a review based on their customer service so far. Four months ago, one of their experienced inspectors/customer service reps spent 30+ minutes on the phone with me explaining the septic mound systems, do's and don'ts of home-ownership with a septic, and more details than I thought I would need to know! Fast forward 4 months, and we purchased a different property, with a different type of system (sand filter), and our pump alarm is going off. Instead of happily taking our money for something that may not be a problem (it was just inspected 6 weeks ago by another company), the lady gave me valuable tips and advice over the phone. These guys rock they came out to pump my tank I had no idea where the lids were cause we have a old farm house and no asbuilt on file . We all worked together to find it . Well long story short the pump was in bad shape these guys threw a new pump in and got me taken care of and the tank pumped . Yea the prices might be high but but they are with in reason and we're able to come out immediately . I initially hesitated because the reviews but they knew what they were doing very professional an stayed in my budget with the pump replacement. I had an emergency issue with my septic tank. Evergreen was not able to get out to fix it in time for my closing, but they did work with the septic company that could get repaired. Then Evergreen moved some things around and was able to get a truck out there to pump my tank. Their willingness to work with another company, move things around, and even send me paperwork over the weekend made it possible for me to close my house on time. Thank you...especially Hope. When sewage started backflowing into our home yesterday, we were at a loss for what to do. Most companies I contacted could not commit to pumping our system for a week, never-mind fixing the problem. Evergreen was suggested as one of only a few companies that could both pump and evaluate the problem. Stephan came out this morning. He was prompt, courteous, and professional. He pumped the tanks, evaluated the problem, and put us on course to correct it this week. He also took the extra time to teach us about our system and how to properly maintain it. He was so good that we asked him to pump and inspect another home on the property. Again he did so professionally, identifying an issue that will be addressed at the same time as our main septic system. The WORST company I've EVER worked with. Do not hire these frauds and criminals. We had planned on selling our house. We had to have the septic pumped and inspected. Justin and Clarence came out, said it doesn't need to be pumped and it all looks great. Couple weeks go by and I notice my septic is overflowing into my grass. I call and get a guy to come out and pump my system. He said my tank was full (how could that be when Justin and Clarence said it was fine.) Pump guy says looks like you just need a new float sensor and you should be good. So I call back and demand these 2 idiots come back out. They show up and rip open my electrical box (though they claim not to be electricians) I see them messing around in it and ask to have access to my electrical panel because there is no power to my box so my pump isn't working. Um, the pump guy said I have power. But tweedle dee and dumb say I don't. They go to my panel, fiddle around and say well we can't figure out why you don't have power but convenientally they have a number of a guy who will come out and fix the power issue. That'll be 270. I said nope not paying I'll hire my friend. I call the company to complain and Tami answers says her pump guy is new and has no clue what he's saying. My tank wasn't full and Justin is a tech he knows what he's saying but he's not an electrician so call their guy who knows electrical pumps in the septic. Tami tells me some bs line about pumps and floats and they know what they're doing. I call my electrician buddy who comes out and says was this button off from my panel? Nope pretty sure that was on. Justin and Clarence flipped a switch so their buddy could get money. My husband called back to speak with Evergreen and Tami about the panel issue and how they destroyed our electrical box. Tami was so offended that we didn't trust her guys and brought our own folks in, she hung up on my husband. My husband calls back and starts to unload on her and she tells my husband she doesn't feel Justin and Clarence will be safe at our house to finish the job they started and oh replace the pump sensor that the pump guy said we needed. She's backing 2 crooks in Justin and Clarence but the pump guy who also works for them, was thrown under the bus by Tami. Funny the pump guy was right. They still want 270 for being crooks and lying to us. They want their 270 for rude customer service and hanging up on my husband. I called A Westco, they came out and fixed my problems without being condescending or rude. Call them if you want the job done right. If you want to deal with criminals, use Evergreen. This company is pathetic. I've never been so pissed. Evergreen has cost me 1000s of dollars because of their greed. read more

Beware of invoice dates for Greenhaus Portable Restrooms. I got billed 2 weeks after paying an invoice the day after it was emailed to me for a monthly service. I've paid at the end of the month every month until today when they moved it up 2 weeks on me. I called and they spewed a bunch of crap about service dates which makes no sense. I paid the same time of the month for a long time. Now they pull some kind of service date crap and move up the billing. I am having the portable restroom removed ASAP and I'll get a portable restroom service that has their invoicing and billing STABLE. read more

Evergreens tech came out and accessed the small puddle in our lawn as a leak in the line from our septic. He was sure it was coming from right there because there was no water coming up anywhere else. So they would dig straight down and asses the problem. He told us that there minimum was $250 but it could be a little more if they found a bigger problem. A different guy came out a few days later, dug the hole and found what the other guy had thought that it might be was right. The pipe had separated and he glued it back together. Then he told us it would be $1,000. I called the office to complain and the lady said that she would talk to the manager and see what they could do. Never heard back from them until I got the bill for$1,000 again. I thought that when I heard it would be a $250 minimum that it could even be $500 and I would be ok with that but $1,000. I am reviewing "Evergreen Sanitation INC" in Woodinville. I think these guys are the same company as the ones who serve Lake Stevens so this review is in the appropriate place, I think. I called five different places at 6:30AM on the morning of 11/04/14 and these guys were the first ones that answered. I was set up for same day service and they were to show up in the afternoon. One guy showed up named "Serge", not sure how to spell his name but he was awesome. Friendly guy who helped me with locating my septic tank lids. He didn't charge me for this because he saw the effort I put into doing it on my own to save the extra cash. Serge politely asked if he could use my hose to unclog the septic tank PVC pipe and I said that's fine. Afterwards, he cleaned the hose and everything. He also was very cautious when walking in my house with his shoes on. I can't write out everything but this guy was very professional and friendly. He was laughing at my face when the lids were opened up. Just an all around cool guy. They charged me on the spot over the phone with their front desk person and that was it. Very happy with the charge as well. I will definitely use them again and would recommend them for septic pumping. As far as other services, I can't review that.. but for pumping, no issues at all. I was misled while scheduling the appointment, into thinking that I would not be charged an entire $400 for about 100 gallons of septic. It's a 55 gallon solid waste tank which drains into another drum which is mostly liquid. I called to try and get some money back but they would not budge. I am sad to report that I would not recommend Evergreen Sanitation Inc for any septic repairs. The technicians who worked on my septic tank system were not professional and were not prepared. The first 10 minutes out of the 40 they were there they spent trying to get their drill to work so they would be able to take a lid off of my septic tank. After that they proceeded to follow up with, "I am not familiar with these systems and not really sure how this particular system works, but we will give it a shot" For the next 30 minutes they flipped some switches, discovered a filter needed to be replaced and said that by replacing the filter, that should solve my septic alarm problem, that keeps going on and off. They then charged me for a full hour. Which is 117 an Hour....... and If I would have read more online I could have done what they did. This did not solve my alarm issue but actually increased it. I would stay 100% away from this company and go anywhere else. The individual who I have found that has actually been able to help me is PLUMB PROS LLC in Mountlake Terrace (206) 288-3435. Bruce has proceeded to go above and beyond and has since helped solve my septic issues for a reasonable cost, and actually knows what he is doing. I had good experience with Evergreen Sanitation. I had septic alarms on a property I just bough and needed someone help to root cause the issue. Evergreen Sanitation quickly returned my call and showed up on my property next day. They were honest and did not try to suggest any repairs I may not need. They suggested steps to root cause the issue next time it happens, suggested replacing pump contactor ($10 part) as a preventive measure and helped me to better secure tank lids to make sure rain water does not get in. I was having problems with my drainfield and had called another septic company to come out and help me. They came out and basically cost me a lot of money. They didn't do any investigative work to find the root of the problem. Things went along fine for a few months and then I had problems again. It wasn't until I called Evergreen sanitation that I got things resolved. Terry the gen mgr personally came out and really spent time digging around and analyzing the situation. He and his team came back out and fixed my problem. There were things that had been overlooked by the other company and should of have been done when the system was installed. I have always used Evergreen over the last 20 years. I have specifically called them because they have smaller trucks that can actually make it up my very steep driveway. I have a simple gravity 1000 gal cement tank behind my house. The technicians are always friendly and professional. One time, they noted a white, cement like formation floating in the tank. It was from them that I learned that powdered detergent does NOT dissolve and in fact creates this concrete floating scum. Fortunately, they were able to clean it all out before it created problems and recommend liquid detergent. I will always be grateful. This last time, I discovered that I could schedule service online and use a $25 coupon. I got a call early the next morning and by later that same day, my septic tank had been pumped - good as new. I am sorry others may have had less than desirable experiences, but I want to share that they have been great every time I've used their service. read more

Watch out if you use Evergreen for repairs. We had our septic sump pump alarm go off and had to call for repair. Our system pumps up to our drain field 150 feet away. They did come out in a timely fashion and I think they did good work, but their prices are a rip off. We had to replace our pump. Their charge for the pump was $1065. I found out after the fact that it sells for under $600 at pump stores or online. They also charged nearly $400 to pump out the pump chamber. You might think that the extraordinary cost of the pump included labor. It did not. That was an extra $500.00. All told it ended up costing nearly $2300 to replace the pump. I have used Evergreen at my own home for many years and have always had excellent service. When the septic backed up at my 87-year-old mom's house, I called Evergreen. They were so kind and said they would get a crew there that day but it would be towards the end of the day. I asked for 30 minutes notice so someone could be there with my mom. They were good to their word. It was 90 degrees that day and I'm sure the guy would have rather gone home than staying late to do this job but he was very kind and friendly and pumped out her tank. Awesome guy and customer service! He evaluated her tank and could see blockage in her line and explained what needed to be done. We have since had it fixed and her system is working once again. I will continue to use Evergreen because they are knowledgeable, friendly, reliable and a good company. read more

Septic pumps are rarely thought about and my original pump worked for 27 years. My septic pump nightmare began when Evergreen Sanitation Inc. replaced the pump with a ZOLAR brand pump with a one year warranty and had it fail in two years. Evergreen again replaced the pump with another ZOLAR brand pump and it failed in two more years. Upon contacting Evergreen they said they can't help me because the warranty is for one year and they don't know what I was doing with the pump. REally? What exactly do you do with a septic pump once it is in the ground? Needless to say I went with A-1 Environmental Sanitation got a pump with a three year warranty and the whole process was four hundred dollars cheaper than Evergreen. I would not recommend Evergreen Sanitation under any circumstances. read more

These guys are crooks. I work for A local business and we had this company come out to pump a lifter pump tank setup at a site. They charged us for 2500 gal plus labor. Whats funny is that the tanks total 800 gal. You tell me how this adds up to 2500 gal? To gouge clients and lie about the amount pumped is not right. We have called them but they will not adjust the cost and will no longer get any business from our company and I hope that anyone that is willing to call them is aware of this. read more

I really wish I had read the reviews on Evergreen Sanitation prior to hiring them. The tech who helped me ((as we were both digging) was a very. I've gentleman. I do expect the "professional" to be more knowledgeable than me however. It took him 5 hours to locate the lid to my tank. I had already dug out the inspection lid (literally 9 inches from the actual lid. Due to him not being able to locate the lid in a timely manner--I was charged an additional $250 for their services--on top of the $450 they charged to come out to pump the tank. If septic tanks are their specialty, and I had already dug 4 feet down to the tank itself, I believe he should have been able to easily locate the lid. While he was on his phone, I finally located the lid--yet still charged the additional $250 (Interesting business strategy.). Again, the tech was a very nice guy--the company quite off on "delighting" the customer. Probably will. It be a returning customer--they had many opportunities to make the situation right. We had Evergreen come pump our tank about 2 months ago. After the fact we noticed a horrible stench coming up from under our deck (where tank is located). Note there was not any odor before. Especially after a rain. Then it would go away. It ended up getting worse so we called Evergreen back for a follow up. Not one word about any "service" charge. We expected them to check to make sure they had cleaned everything up. Billy comes out and proceeds to tell my husband that because of the heavy rain our tank had flooded. Also go pick up some lye (?) to throw under your deck. And by the way that'll be $257.32 for the 20 minutes he was here and the lye suggestion.. ARE YOU KIDDING!!!!! Where's the CUSTOMER SERVICE!! We had our septic pumped Monday. I had been putting it off and putting it off for years but when it started gurgling I knew I needed it done right away. We called Evergreen Sanitation and they had truck here within an hour. Our septic tank is under our deck which has an removable access to the tank. Sergey the sanitation engineer pumped the tank and advised me the baffle from the house to the tank was blocked. Sergey advised that a little more of the deck needed to be removed to get to the baffle and went a head and removed it himself and dug up the baffle and unplugged baffle. It only cost me a mere $506 dollars. I would recommend Evergreen if you need septic service and if you are lucky enough to get Sergey I'm sure you'll be as impressed as I am. read more

My experience was terrific, contrary to the one report on Evergreen Sanitation, here on yelp. If you go to Angies List, or Checkbook.org, they have really good ratings. My septic tank was backing up into my tub and shower. The tank had not been pumped in a very long time. I was referred to Evergreen Sanitation by a friend who used to work with them before he moved onto a different career. I called several other Pumping Services to get quotes, and the prices where all over the map. One place charged $150 per hour, to dig up my tank lids and my quote was over $800. Evergreen was able to get a service guy to my house within hours. I knew where my tank and lids where, so he was able to get to work in no time. I went out and talked to the technician several times, and he explained what he was doing and why. He provided me with a ton of education, for which I am grateful. He replaced all the grass that was torn up to uncover the lids, and offered to fix an old fence board that got knocked off by one of his hoses. I will definitely refer them to my friends, and used them again in a few years. read more

They are lucky I haven't filed a lawsuit against them. Last March, we had them out to pump our septic tank. They did a decent job. However, when they left our home, the men left the cover off of the septic tank and a man cover sized hole wide open in our yard knowing very well that we have 3 small dogs at our home (all under 13lbs). I have no idea what in the world would have possessed them to leave the cover off of the tank, especially being that the drop down to the top of the tank is about 3 feet from grass level, and the drop down to the bottom of the tank is about 20 feet! After they left, my boyfriend let the dogs out to go potty unknowing that they left the septic tank wide open with a hazard in the yard where the dogs run. I come home from work right after the men had left and my boyfriend let the dogs out, simply to check on everything and ensure that all went well. When I get home, I realize that one of the dogs is missing, so I begin to panic as this particular pup is not one to wander far, and never leaves the property. Come to find out, he fell into the septic tank and is sitting at the bottom covered in "crap" literally. Of course I'm ready to jump in and retrieve my baby, in my business suit and heels, however my boyfriend of course stops me as then we would have both of us stuck down there without a way out. On top of this, it's pouring down rain outside and the dog is absolutely frozen. He's lucky that he didn't break his neck, a leg, or his back on the way down and drown in the muck at the bottom. The dog is panicking as am I even more at this point. It took us hours to fish him out of the tank 20 feet down, with the help of some people we were finally able to get him out! I proceed to call the company and speak with a lady at their reception desk (I'm assuming). She doesn't seem to care but says that she will pass message along and have someone contact me. Of course no one did. Weeks later I call again, same lady. I explain that I am not trying to get my money back or press charges, but I am seriously upset with what happened, and the fact that my dog was uninjured was a miracle. They were lucky that a neighbor kid didn't wander onto the property and fall in as they would then be dealing with a big lawsuit. She still didn't seem to care and said she would pass the message along. I proceeded to call a 3rd time weeks later, to no avail I got no response. To be honest, I should have pressed charges for this incident on the mere fact that they left a safety hazard due to incompetence, but more so due to their complete and utter lack of customer service, as well as compassion for the event that took place due to their careless employees. An apology at the least would have sufficed just nice, not to mention an offer of a refund for the stress and anxiety that it caused, loss of work time for me, and just plain frustration. Friendly guy comes out and drains my septic tank. Afterwards, he takes the hose out of my tank and lays it on my grass and goes to turn the truck off, at which time everything he just sucked up started gushing out onto my lawn. I am screaming "oh no, oh no" and frantically trying to move my grandkids toys out of the way of the gushing sewer. By the time he starts the truck back up (which I'm assuming starts the vacumn of the hose), sewer has spewed out all over my lawn. The guy tries to vacumn up the sewer which for the most part, there are no visible chunks, but the stench and the discoloration on my lawn is beyond acceptable (I have animals and grandkids who play on my lawn daily). I call the company to let them know what happened and I get the "head guy" and he tells me he is sorry and that these things happen. He says he will contact the guy (who is still here at this point) and let him know he needs to water down the lawn to try and rinse the sewer down. He also tells me when it rains, it should be fine, but in the meantime, he will call the guy and make it right for me, which I assume he will water my lawn and give me a break on the price. The guy comes in and tells me lime will help and gives me an invoice for the full amount. I ask about a discount and he says, "if he said he will make it right, he will do something" and next thing I know, he leaves. No rinsing of my lawn, no lime and no discount...Ugh, very disappointing in the service and the lack of "making it right" by the "head guy". read more
